Am I Dead

Jin-Jer layed back on the ground, knowing there was no way her and Kid Buu would escape this. So I go out like this? Broken in the dirt, dying by the side of a killer. Shit, I wouldn't have it any other way. The proud Saiyan warrior closed her eyes, preparing to be engulfed by the light of doom. "Dragar. Blayze. I'm coming home." she smiled as a tear flowed down her cheek.

Jin-Jer opened her eyes. Finding herself in a green field. "Am I dead?"

"No you're not." Dende helped her sit up. She winced in pain as she did so. "Here, let me help." the little green man opened up his hands over her. Jin-Jer then grabbed his wrists. "It's okay." a comforting force washed over her body through his hands. All of her wounds were now gone.

She looked herself over and stood up about to walk away. Jin-Jer turned her neck to the side, "Thank you... Dende."

"You're welcome." he smiled, scratching the back of his head. "Hey, don't you want to know how you're still alive?"

"I don't need to know. Point is, I'm alive."

Dende was confused by her reaction. She should be happy that Buu was defeated and that she walked away with her life. He didn't understand why she looked so sad.

Jin-Jer kept on walking through the field until she dropped to her knees. "Why? Why couldn't it have just ended there? I did everything I could to protect people who I tell myself I don't care about... But I know that deep down I do. I've proven that I could do good things, so why can't I just be given a break and finally be at rest?"

"Trust me, babe. Rest isn't as fun as you think."

The woman couldn't believe her eyes. Maybe she was dead. Maybe this was heaven. Unless she was just hallucinating. Yeah, that sounded more reasonable.

There was a charming ghost standing right in front of her, who offered his hand. She looked up into his ruby red eyes. "Dragar? Is... Is that you?" Jin-Jer slowly raised her shaking hand to touch his face to make sure he was real.

He smiled down at her.

"Yup. I don't know how, but yeah. It's me. Live and in color."

Jin-Jer jumped up and hugged her husband. Her small arms wrapped around his neck as her legs swayed above the ground. "I can't believe it's you." she cried in the crook of his neck. "I've missed you so much."

He ran his long fingers through her soft black hair. Missing the feeling of his wife this close to him. He wrapped his arms around her tightly as if he didn't want to let her go. "I missed you too." he whispered into her ear.

Dragar set his tiny wife back on the ground. "I almost forgot how tall you were." she wiped her tears away, looking up at the 6ft 11 tall man. Jin-Jer couldn't stop the tears still streaming from her eyes. "Can I hug you again?" she cried.

Dragar kneeled down to his wife's 5ft level. Letting her wrap her arms around his waist as he rested his chin on top of her head. He squeezed his eyes shut, praying that when they opened up again, that this wasn't just another dream that he's having. It had to be real. He moved her hair out of her face and rested his forehead on hers. "I love you." Dragar kissed her lips softly. Jin-Jer held his cheeks, wanting the kiss to last for an eternity.

"Mama?" They broke the kiss when a small voice spoke.

Jin-Jer gasped in shock. This was all too good to be real. "Blayze? Sweetie, is that you?" the little boy who was an exact image of his father nodded shyly.

She kneeled down and held her son for dear life as Dragar smiled at his family and joined them in an emotional embrace.

Goku and Vegeta watched from a distance. "That was a really nice thing you did." Vegeta crossed his arms and huffed. "Smart thing too."

"What are you talking about, idiot? I only did it because we owed her one for having her kiss that old man."

"Hey, I may be stupid but I'm not dumb."

Vegeta rolled his eyes at that statement. "Then enlighten me, clown."

"Look, I'm not going to tell your secret or anything. But it's obvious that you and Jin-Jer love each other. And you would want to keep her safe no matter what. That's why you sent Kabito Kai to use Instant Transmission to rescue her before the Spirit Bomb hit."

Vegeta scoffed, "That's ridiculous, Kakarot. I've known her since I was a child. You would have done the same thing if it were one of your long time friends."

He scratched his head, "True. But you also decided to resurrect her family."

"So what?"

Goku chuckled at how Vegeta didn't just want to admit the truth. "You knew that she wouldn't be happy if she survived this. That she may have vanished again and never come back this time. So you saw this as a way to keep her in your life forever if she wasn't alone anymore."

Vegeta was surprised at how spot on Goku was. "I couldn't risk losing her again, Kakarot. I need to know that she'll always be safe."

Goku smiled, "No matter how much you wanna deny it. You're one of the good guys!" he patted Vegeta on the back.

"Ugh, don't say that out loud. I am not a good person!" he argued.

"Hey, am I interrupting?" Jin-Jer asked, walking up to the two.

"No. Not at all." Goku answered kindly. "What's up?"

"I want to thank you both for everything. I know I've been acting like a total pain and all. But-"

"No worries." Goku cut her off and laughed. "You were a huge help against our fight with Kid Buu. And I'm grateful for that. You definitely turned out to be a lot stronger than I thought."

"Thanks. That's real sweet of you. Ummm, is it okay if I introduce you both to my family?" she asked nervously, rubbing her arm.

"Sure!" Goku answered excitedly. "Hey, are they strong too?"

Jin-Jer giggled, "Why don't you ask them." Dragar joined his wife by her side with Blayze holding his hand. "Vegeta. Kakarot. This is my family. My husband, Dragar. And my son, Blayze."

"Ahhhh," Dragar rubbed his chin, "This is the famous Prince Vegeta that you always used to talk about?" The Prince's eyes widened in shock. He had no idea that Jin-Jer had kept him in her thoughts after she moved on. Dragar then bowed in respect.

"Thank you both. For keeping my wife safe. And who do I have to thank for resurrecting us?"

"Oh that was Vegeta!" Goku shoved the smaller Saiyan forward.

He looked off to the side, not making eye contact. "No thanks is needed. Just... Make sure nothing happens to Jin-Jer."

Her eyes glistened when he said that. Jin-Jer loved him so much that she would die to protect him. And Vegeta put his personal feelings for her aside, just so she could be happy with the first man she had fallen in love with.

"I'll protect her with my life."

Jin-Jer smirked, "Hey, I actually might be stronger than you now."

He looked her over, "Mmm, I don't think so."

She then went SS2, "Oh really."

Dragar wasn't fazed. In fact, he was amused. "Oh that's cute. What do you call it?"

"Super Saiyan 2. I can't go to level 3 like Kakarot but I'll get there soon."

"Remind me to spar with you later in that form. Maybe I could actually use my full power now."

"Full power?!" Goku nearly passed out when he heard those words. "You mean, you think you're stronger than Super Saiyan 2?"

"I wouldn't doubt it. I always let Jin-Jer win during our spars because she could be a real soar loser."

"That's a lie! You never let me win."

He shrugged, "I don't know.... There's only one way to find out."

"What about the little guy?" Goku asked, kneeling down to one knee. "Can you fight too?"

Blayze was never much of a talker. He always let his actions speak for itself. He backed away a few feet. He raised the ground that Goku was standing on until he was about 50ft in the air on that platform, then smashed it back down before the Saiyan could react.

"Ow....." Goku winced from his fall. "That was awesome!" he choked. "Hey Vegeta, we should train him. I can already feel his hidden potential!"

Jin-Jer and Dragar gave each other a concerned look. Their son did have a lot of power just waiting to be awoken but they weren't sure that it was best that he unleashed it. "I'm not sure if that's such a good idea." Dragar told him.

"Huh? Why not?" he asked.

"Can I speak with you two alone for a second?" Vegeta asked.

"Sure."

Goku and Blayze both stood there. "Oh!" Goku laughed, "Hey Blayze, can you show me what other moves you can do?"

"What is it Vegeta?"

"When I wished for Dragar and Blayze to be resurrected. I asked for Blayze to have his memory wiped clean of the incident between your husband and the planet. Any evil that was in his heart before has been eradicated as well."

Jin-Jer was at a loss for words. Vegeta really did everything in his power to help put her life back together in the best way he could. "I... I don't know what to say, Vegeta."

"Yeah, is there any way we can repay you for all you've done for us?"

Vegeta looked at Jin-Jer when he said, "Just, don't go somewhere too far away from Earth." he cleared his throat, "In case, anything like this ever happens again. Is what I mean."

Dragar looked at Vegeta then Jin-Jer. He wasn't stupid. He was able to tell that there was something more going on between the two Saiyans. Dragar had been dead for years. He didn't expect Jin-Jer to mourn forever. He would have wanted her to move on and be happy. That's all he's ever wanted for her. Live a long happy life with people she loved.

Dragar looked back and saw Blayze showing Goku his fire bending abilities. "I'm going to go check on Blayze. Okay?"

Jin-Jer gave her husband a half smile and tucked her loose hair behind her ear.

"I did this because I knew it would make you happy. I just..." Vegeta mentally slapped himself. It felt so weird for him to admit this. "Don't want you to disappear from my life again. You mean too much to me, Jin-Jer."

The small saiyan wrapped her arms around the Prince. "You won't ever lose me again, Vegeta. That's a promise. I'm not going anywhere." She smiled at Vegeta and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "That was for being the greatest friend I could ever ask for. I love you so much."

Vegeta cracked a small smile. "I... I love you too." He whispered to her.

All he wanted for her was to be able to live without constantly wanting to die. He accomplished that. Jin-Jer gazed on at her little boy who had so much potential, and even greater than that, a pure heart. Everything was finally falling into place. All she's wanted was a happy life where she would no longer have to worry or live in the past. Now she can just smile.

Vegeta wasn't the kindest person, but to Jin-Jer he was her angel. Nobody could change how she viewed him. Especially after what he did for her.

From now, on until a mighty death, Vegeta will always be known as her heroic Prince.

A/N: I know it's taken me forever to finish up this story. I don't know how many of you have stuck around until the end, but thanks for continuing to read this book. I hope y'all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Also yes, Dragar is portrayed as Ban from Seven Deadly Sins and Blayze is portrayed by kid Ban.

Anyways, I'm currently working on an epilogue to this book and I'm hoping to make a short sequel. So, keep an eye out if you're interested 😉
