(Y/N POV)
Lover.
"He's fine, right?" I asked as soon as I walked into the tower.
"Mr. Parker's chamber is fully functioning."
"Thank god."
I passed through security swiftly, getting into the elevator. Before the doors closed, Happy waved his arm in between the panels to stop it from shutting.
"This isn't healthy," he said, "I know how much he means to you, but raising someone from the dead is impossible."
"Trust me on this one, Hap."
"I'm serious, let the boy rest."
I shook my head, and pressed the door close button, "He deserves a life."
I was determined to make this work. Strange didn't go through all that trouble to tell me what I could do to save Peter, and this was my last chance. I needed him back.
I made my way to the 80th floor, trying to work through the reviving process I was going to do. Should I start by activating the reactor first? Once the elevator doors slid open, I stalked out onto the concrete ground, making a beeline to the suit room.
I hadn't been in there for years, and I wasn't sure what was going to happen once I walked in. All I knew was that the heart had to be in there.
I stopped outside of the glass doors, peering inside. Suits were lined up against the walls, their metal glittering in the sun's reflection. It was eerily silent, and I there was dust littering the bar my father would frequently drink at.
"Okay," I said, pushing open the door, "let's do this."
As soon as I stepped in, the lights flickered on and a mechanical buzzing filled the room. The walls started to light up with astral projections of constellations, and the interior cases for each individual suit lit up in thier designated colors.
"Welcome back Miss Stark," Ethan said, "to the Hall of Armor."
"Thanks," I mumbled, my eyes glued to the sight of the room.
"All functioning technology is back online. Would you like to cancel this action?"
"No, it's alright."
"Very well, then."
In the center of the room was the Arc Reactor, covered by a protective layer. I placed my hand on top of the glass box, and it popped open after sensing my fingerprints. The cold air that had been preserving the heart spilled out onto the table, creating a foggy glow around the room.
I picked it up gently, holding it in my palm.
It was strange to think I was holding the invention that kept my father going. It kept him alive for all those years, and it would soon give life to someone just as worthy.
"Tell staff to bring Peter's crypt to my work room," I said, "and make sure no one disturbs me until I'm done working."
"Are you sure you would not like assistance performing this task?"
"I'm fine."
"You may need the help of someone medically trained."
"I don't have time to get help," I explained, "I can handle it myself."
"As you wish."
I made my way down to my work room, where I noticed the chamber was already waiting for me. I made sure to lock the door behind me, ensuring that no one was to interrupt the process.
I had no room for mistakes.
I stared at the arc reactor, pinning Peter's life on the fact that this would work. I set it down on the work table, and tapped the surface twice, lighting up the hologram projection of the object.
"Run me a status report," I said, "and an estimated time."
"Reactor core is heavily damaged. Average time of completion, 3 hours."
"I can work with that."
I popped open the casing of the heart, and grabbed a flashlight to look deeper inside. After my father died, the vibranium he used to contain the nuclear core hardened into unusable material.
"Great," I muttered, "I need to replace this."
"Regrettably, there is no vibranium left. I will enquire for more, but it will not arrive till next week."
"I don't have till next week!"
"I'd suggest Palladium, but side effects include severe poisoning to the body."
"Oh my god," I mumbled, "so I have to poison Peter to keep him alive?"
"Until you can replace it."
I sighed, and popped open the drawer underneath my desk. Typing in the code, I unlocked the safe my father left for me, and pulled out a flask of the toxic element.
I grabbed my tweezers and extracted some of it, placing it inside of the reactor slowly. My hands started to shake, but I clenched my fingers tighter to stop it. Nervousness had no place in this.
Once I had secured the core safely, I screwed on the top and prayed that it would work when applied. I turned over to Peter's chamber, and took a deep breath.
"You can do this," I whispered to myself, "you have nothing to fear."
In truth, I had everything to fear. But I wasn't going to let that stop me from doing what I had to do. I worked for three hours straight, not stopping for a break. At times I almost fell over from lack of sleep, but the thought of seeing Peter alive again kept me going.
Finally, it was finished.
I picked up the reactor from the table, and walked over to where Peter's body lay. I gently placed it inside of his chest, and screwed it on until I was sure it would be secure.
"Please work..." I begged, "please.."
I locked the last part of the heart, and took a step back my eyes unmoving from the core. It started to emmenate a faint blue light, and I covered my mouth in shock.
"Oh my god," I said, "Ethan, its working!"
"Indeed it is. I am sensing a slow pulse from Mr. Parker's body."
"IT WORKED!"
"Congratulations Miss Stark."
"ETHAN! HE'S ALIVE!"
I ran over to the boy, placing a hand on his cheek. I felt my eyes water with tears of joy, and I watched as his eyes fluttered open.
"Peter..." I said softly, "it worked.."
He stared at me for a while, his body warming up to the fact that he had risen from the dead, before realizing what had happened.
"Y/N?"
"Yeah," I whispered, "It's me, Peter."
"W-what happened?"
"You're alive. That's all that matters."
I hugged him, tears streaming down my face. At first he was taken aback by my sudden action, but then he was hugging back as tightly as ever. We stayed there for what seemed like ages, but neither of us wanted to let go.
"Did you really mean it?" he asked.
"Mean what?"
"When you said you loved me, back in Prague."
"You remember that?"
He nodded.
"Yeah, I meant it," I said, "I love you Peter."

One Week Later
Peter and I lay on a blanket on top of the tower's balcony. I had my head resting on his chest, and he was attempting to twist my hair into a braid. We had just finished eating lunch, and Led Zeppelin was blasting from the portable speaker.
"I love Led Zeppelin!" He exclaimed.
"I know you do, Peter."
He was still getting used to having the Arc Reactor power him, and it wasn't easy dealing with the palladium poisoning. We had to change the covering every two days to keep him healthy, but he didn't like the idea of me having to take care of him so often.
"I'm supposed to be helping you," he said, "you shouldn't have to worry about me."
"Relax, Parker, the vibranium is supposed to come today, and you don't need to keep changing your reactor."
"It's not my reactor, it's Tony's."
I laughed, and turned to look up at him. He smiled and planted a kiss on the top of my forehead, still running his hands through my hair.
"Miss Stark," Ethan interrupted, "I regret to inform you that the vibranium import has been terminated."
"What?" I exclaimed, sitting up.
"We were unable to obtain the quantity you requested. You have been requested to visit the source in person."
"You're kidding, right?"
"Shall I let Happy know of your departure?"
I sent Peter a look of confusion. Neither of us expected this to happen today, and he wasn't at all interested in having to stay with the palladium for a few more days.
"Fine," I said, getting up, "give us an hour to get our things."
"Very well, Miss Stark."
I sighed, and extended a hand for Peter to take. He grabbed it, and I helped pull him up.
"Where are we going?" he asked, lacing his fingers through mine.
We kept walking towards the doors, our arms swinging back and forth. A week ago I never thought he'd be with me, but to be here in this moment, I'd never trade anything for the world. He glanced at me again, curious about the answer to his question.
"The source of all Vibranium," I said, "Wakanda."
