(PETER POV)

It comes rushing back.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

Beck and I were on a jet heading somewhere I didn't know, about to go up against some sort of threat. Fury didn't tell me what it was, he just said they needed me.

"Prauge," the man said, "We spotted enormous amounts of energy coming from the city."

"But what's the threat?"

"Elementals. They destroyed my world, and I won't let them take yours."

"Wait, Elementals?"

Beck raised an eyebrow at me, and nodded his head. So Y/N wasn't lying when she said Elementals were real... but what about Mr. Stark? He couldn't be alive.. I watched him die. I saw him die.

"They're dangerous beings," he went on to explain, "especially the one we're about to face."

"I'm still confused on these- things - being real," I cut in, "when Y/N said she was being hurt by one, there was no sign of anything nearby."

"She's sick. She's been seeing things, and maybe she just thought she saw an elemental. She was aware of thier existence before, I'm sure. Why else would she be here?"

"But that doesn't explain where she got the injuries fro-"

"She's suffering from the death of her father. She may have been in a crazed state, and simply tripped and fell."

"And broke her rib?"

"We're here," Beck said abruptly, " let's go."

My head was spinning with endless possibilities of what happened, but I knew I had to focus. Whatever this elemental was doing, we had to stop. Why am I even worrying about her anyways? She doesn't care about me anymore, and I should do the same.

I hopped off the plane, and followed after the man walking in front of me. For someone who was from another dimension, he sure knew a lot about ours. A lot about Y/N.

"How long do we have to wait before it shows up?" I asked, "

"We don't have too."

From down below where we stood, a crowd of people were milling around for an annual fair. My eyes widened as I realized that the ground beneath them started to melt into lava.

"Oh my god," I said, "we need to get down there."

I jumped off of the ledge the plan had landed on, and started latching onto buildings to swing as fast as I could. Beck followed behind me, his head covered by a glowing blue orb.

People started to scream, dropping everything to run to safety, as a creature started to form out of fire and molten lava.

"How do we stop this thing?" I yelled to Mysterio.

"I'll handle it," he said, "you get people to safety!"

"Got it!"

I started to clear everyone out of the area: small children with thier families, couples on dates, single people who were having a good time. Like me! I'm going to be a happy single person from now on, and Y/N has no say in it.

Woo hoo.

Once I was sure everyone was a safe distance away, I looked back at Mysterio, who was engaged in a full on combat with the Elemental.

"I got you!" I yelled, running towards the monster, and hitting it with my web shooters. I tried to pull off my Star Wars trick that I did back during the Civil War, but nothing I did seemed to stop it.

"It's getting to big!" Beck explained, "there's only one way to stop it!"

"Please tell me it involves something simple!" I yelled over the chaos.

"Sorry kid," he yelled out, "I couldn't save my earth, but I still can save yours."

"Beck-"

"See ya' on the other side," he said, diving headfirst towards the Elemental.

"Beck!" I called out, trying to stop him.

There had to be another way to solve this. I couldn't have another person die because I wasn't strong enough to save them.

But it was too late.

He hit the creature head on, sending the whole city into a blanket of light. A huge explosion erupted from the center, throwing me back onto the ground. I grimaced in pain as I sat up, my eyes searching desperately for Beck.

I saw him sprawled out on the ground, blood everywhere. I limped over to him, calling out his name in the hope that he might answer.

"Peter..." he mumbled, "good work kid."

"Mr. Beck you're going to be okay, just breathe," I said, trying to cover up his wounds.

A jet flew over us, covering us in exhaust and the smell of fuel. I tried to ignore the deafening sound of it landing, my mind focused on tending to the man in front of me. Except he seemed more concerned about the plane then his injuries.

"Get me to the top of that building," he pleaded.

"I have to help you firs-"

"Just do it!" he yelled, his voice escalating, "now!"

He started to panic, so I picked him up and stuck out my arm towards the top of the building. Latching onto the roof with my webs, I started to climb up the sides of the structure. Once I reached the top, I gently laid him down on the ground and started to check on him.

"I'm fine," he said, pushing my hands away.

"But you-"

"Let it go!" he screeched, "we have bigger problems to deal with!"

I peered over the side of the building, staring at the plane. Whoever was in there must have been dangerous because it was sending Beck into a fit of stress and anger. I watched as the hanger door slid open, and Y/N ran out.

"What?" I mumbled to myself, "what's she doing here?"

Beck didn't answer my question, but instead grabbed my arm and started pulling me back.

"Hey! Let g-" I tried to say, fighting back against the man.

"Listen to me," he said harshly, "I'm trying to protect you."

"From her?"

"You heard what she said about you. She's only here to hurt you more, Peter."

"How did you know about that?"

"I heard it too," Beck said quickly, "now stand behind me."

There was so much happening in the moment, that I did what he told me too. I heard a commotion come from down below, and I tried to see what was going on. I sensed something running up the stairs of the building, it's voice muffled.

"Somethings coming," I warned the man.

"More like someone."

The door to the roof swung open, and I saw Y/N run towards us. She came to a stop, a worried look painted on her face. She was clearly still injured from her previous elemental attack, because she was grabbing her left side in pain.

"Peter," she pleaded, "get away from him!"

I took a step back, looking back and forth between Mysterio and the Girl. Beck grabbed my arm, and shoved me back next to him, his nails digging into the skin beneath my suit.

"Let go of me!" I yelled, trying to wrench his grip off.

Y/N ran forward in an attempt to help me, but Beck shoved her to the ground in anger.

"What do you want?" I said, "she's not here to hurt anyone!"

"I know," the man snarled, "but I am."

Before I could comprehend anything, Beck grabbed my wrists and pulled out the canula for my web shooters. With a burst of anger, he shoved me over the edge of the building, dangling off by only his grasp on my suit. Below me was the ground, a swarm of S.H.I.E.L.D agents trying to figure out what was going on. It seemed too far away, and without my web fluid, I'd most likely not survive.

"Beck please..." I said, "What are you doing?"

"Getting revenge."

He turned to the girl, threats rolling off his tongue. In the moment, all I could think about was regret. If this was the last time I saw her, I wanted to tell her I was sorry. I said I'd be happy without her, but when you're about to fall to your death, you start to realize how much people really mean to you. Even if they hurt you time after time.

"Listen to what I say," Beck sneered, "or your boyfriend might accidentally slip from my fingers."

Y/N nodded her head, her gaze not moving from me. Her eyes were cold, as she waited for Beck to speak again.

"You're going to go to the edge of the roof," the man said, "and jump off."

I started to beg the man to reconsider, reaching for something to use to stop him. There's not much you can find hanging off of a building. Y/N narrowed her eyes, focusing on Beck now.

"Why us?" she said, "out of all people, why did you bring us here?"

Beck laughed, shaking his head. "Not little Spider-boy over here. You."

Y/N bit her lip, her cheeks flushed red in anger. Her fists were clenched, and she seemed at the breaking point. I couldn't say it out loud, but I wanted her to run the other way and get to safety. If she would be safe, I wouldn't mind being dropped off of the building.

Well, I'd mind, but she was more important.

I promised to keep her safe, and obviously I wasn't doing the best job at it.

"It's because I'm his daughter," she spat out, "isn't it?"

"Wow, you're so smart!" Beck mimicked sarcastically, "you guessed it."

"I'll give you whatever you want," she negotiated, "just don't hurt Peter."

"What I want, is for you to follow in your father's footsteps. Your family ruined my life, so I'm going to take yours."

"You don't have to do this-"

"Yes I do. For years I worked for your sick excuse for a company, just to have my technology stolen from me and be thrown out."

"Then you can have it!" she yelled, "I don't care!"

"WALK TO THE SIDE OF THE DAMN BUILDING," Beck screamed, "BEFORE I DROP HIM!"

Y/N was taken aback, but did as he said. She balanced off the edge, staring at the ground beneath her.

"Now jump," the man commanded.

"Y/N! STOP!" I yelled, "YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS!"

She looked at me, a soft smile on her face, as she mouthed three words.

I love you.

And then she fell.
