Mr. Levi James Desmott - June 22, 1882

Lucius,

I am eager to see if your predictions regarding this girl are correct. Judging from your interest in this woman your suspicions about the Americans must have been false. Alas, you believed yourself close then as well. Perhaps we shall see victory with this one? I am sure, if you are as certain in her identity as you appear to be, then there must be a detail that you have neglected to mention. I am intrigued.

I fully understand the danger that is this prophecy you cite—if our advisor has indeed sent an ambassador to relay judgment on us then we should be afraid. But are we not putting too much reliance on the words of one fury? I am in no way casting doubt on your intentions to protect yourself and, by default, the rest of us. I am merely interested in the source of this information. This girl will be the eighthin a long string of failed predictions. It is possible that the fury was wrong in his prediction? I am not one to argue against the slaughter of anyone, much less those accused of being in enemy ranks, but should we not have a better understanding of what we are looking for? I mean no disrespect; you are as a brother to me. I only want to aid you in whatever way I can. Think of me as the Devil's advocate.

When shall I go to fetch her?

Faithful to you and to the cause,
