The Foster Brother.
"Why are you two always together?" Naruto walked up to them.
"Naruto!" Hinata panicked.
Of course she would, this was her best friend who she would tell everything too. She couldn't just lie to him. She turned back to see Sasuke giving her a bit of warning glare.
I'm sorry, Naruto. As much as I'd like to tell you, I'll have to lie to you just for now.
"You see, Naruto-." She was cut off as a voice began yelling Naruto's name.
"Naruto! Your mom keeps calling for us!" A red-head had appeared behind him out of breath as she noticed Hinata.
"Hinata!?" She smiled as she walked over to hug her.
"I haven't seen you in so long, how have you been?" She said as she noticed the man behind Hinata.
She stared at him for a while until Hinata spoke again.
"I've been good, how about you Karin-san?" She smiled.
"Huh?! Oh-uh-good also!" She laughed nervously.
"Anyway! Sorry to disturb you but Naruto, we have to go!" She grabbed Naruto by his ear as she dragged him along while Naruto yelled in pain.
"Naruto." She let go of his ear as he began to rub it out of pain.
"What?" He said a bit annoyed at her.
"That man behind Hinata, who was he?" She asked hiding her blushing face away from him.
"Huh? Oh that idiot, that's Hinata's sensei." He said.
"Eh?! What's she doing with her sensei?!" She asked surprisingly.
"Well Karin, since you so bracingly asked...I DON'T KNOW! YOU INTERRUPTED US BEFORE SHE HAD A CHANCE TO TELL ME!" He freaked out as she laughed nervously.
"Do you think they're secretly dating?" She asked.
"What? No..I don't know! Ah, this is all so confusing!" He pulled on his hair out of frustration.
"Wait a minute...you don't still like her, do you?!" She asked as he hid his blush.
"More than ever." He sighed.
"Well, What are you waiting for? Go confess to her, next thing you know she's dating someone else and living with them!" Karin encouraged him as he smiled.
"Thanks, Karin." He said as he sighed realizing she was right, if he didn't confess now then when will he?
"Don't mention it." She said as they walked into the Uzumaki household.
DOWNTOWN
"Sensei." Hinata walked beside him as he looked at her.
"Hm?" Were the only words that seem to come out of him.
"Thank you for coming with me." She said as he nodded.
"So, can I get you come coffee as a thank you gift?" She said as he seemed shocked at first.
"Coffee at 5 in the afternoon?" He teased as she blushed.
"N-Never-m-!" She stuttered angrily.
"Alright, let's go." He said as her blush faded away, turning into a smile as she ran to catch up with him.
They arrived at the small coffee shop that Hinata would secretly go to when she needed alone time. Not even Naruto knew about this place.
"Hinata! Welcome." One of the employees greeted her as she knew she was a regular.
"Looks like someone is pretty famous." He teased her as she laughed nervously.
"I come here often during my breaks at work." She
said as they were seated.
"The usual?" The girl said as she nodded.
"And for you?" She asked Sasuke as he looked at the menu.
"Same thing she's getting." He said handing back the menu as the server walked away.
"Eh? Are you sure?" She asked as he lifted an eyebrow.
"What is it?" He asked as she laughed nervously while the server returned with two mugs and a plate of chocolate chip scones.
"Well, this doesn't look so bad." He said as he took a sip of his mug then stared at Hinata.
"This is...hot chocolate." He sighed as she laughed nervously.
"Is it?" She said.
"I thought we were buying coffee." He said as she sighed.
"To be honest with you, I hate coffee. It's so bitter and leaves your teeth stained!" She said as he smirked for a bit.
"You see the thing with bitter coffee is, you add a bit a milk & sugar and make it sweet." He said as their eyes met.
Is he referring to something? She thought.
"Y-Yeah, I guess I see your point." She said as he took another sip of the hot chocolate.
"I thought you hated sweet things." She said as he raised a brow.
"I do, I like most of my things bitter but since this is your treat I won't complain." He said and picked up a scone.
"I guess that makes you the bitter coffee and me, the milk & sugar." She laughed then turned red.
Why...Why did I just say that?!
"Makes the perfect combination, don't you think?" He said as she felt like her whole face was about to melt off from the hotness.
"I-I'm going to go pay!" She got up from her seat and walked over to the counter.
When did he turn this flirty? Is he flirting? I don't know! Her heart raced as she reached the register.
"Who's the lucky dude?" The server who had become her friend asked.
"TenTen-san, don't tease me." I've had enough teasing for one day! She sighed as she handed her 10 yen only for it to be refused.
"This one is on the house, it's your first date after all." She winked as Hinata blushed.
"It's not a d-date!" She hid her face as TenTen laughed.
"Well, see you at your break tomorrow." She waved as Hinata thanked her for not charging her and walked away.
"Let's go." Sasuke said as his eyes darted in a certain direction causing her to worry as she couldn't tell who he was looking at.
"O-Okay." She trusted his word as she went back to grab her coat as another hand had reached for the same item.
"I'm sorry, this is my-." She paused as the stranger smiled at her.
"Hinata, what's wrong?" Sasuke asked as he stared up and down at the stranger who seemed to be in phased of anything at all.
"Sai?!" She has suddenly smiled as she hugged him causing him to hug back.
"How are you? I haven't seen you since well you know." She said as Sasuke coughed to remind them that his was there.
"I've been okay. What about you? Found yourself yet?" Sai ignored him as Hinata laughed.
"Sensei, this is my foster brother." She said as Sasuke looked a bit stunned.
"You two look sort of similar." She said as they turned to her.
"We do not!" They both said as she laughed.
They all walked out as Hinata explained that Sai's family had fostered her for a while until they both found out they were only using her to benefit from the money. They sought it best for both of them if they went separate ways even after the sibling bond they had created.
"So, how come you're with this old guy?" Sai asked as Sasuke stared at him angrily.
"He's not that old, he's one year older then me." Hinata stood up for him.
"I see." He said as Sai stopped and stared at both of them.
"Are-." He was cut off by Sasuke who had suddenly grabbed Hinata and pulled her into him.
The bike passed as it almost ran Hinata over.
"I'm sorry, what were you saying?" Sasuke asked as Sai only smiled.
"Never mind." He said as that had answered his question.
They definitely are.
"Well anyways, sorry to disturb you guys. I'll be going now." He said as he ordered a taxi.
"Don't be sorry, it was nice seeing you again." She said as the taxi pulled up.
"I'll try to see you more often!" He waved goodbye as he stepped in and the taxi drove off.
"This day has been pretty crazy. huh sensei?" She said as she looked up to him.
"I don't think crazy would be the right word, maybe interesting?" He said causing her to tilt her head.
"Enough about my tragic life, what about yours?" She asked as they had walked into the building taking the elevator to their apartment.
"What about mine?" He asked.
"This whole week has been nothing but learning new stuff about me, well what about you?" She unlocked the door to their apartment as they stepped in, taking their shoes off and then placing their coats on the coat hanger.
"May I remind you our relationship is nothing but merely student and teacher?"He said which caused her to frown for a bit.
"Well yes, but we're also living together so might as well, right?" She said as Sasuke raised an eyebrow then walked over to the futon that she was under in.
"What do you want to know?" He asked as he sat down next to her.
"Anything." She said as he scoffed.
"You gotta give me something." He said as she thought.
"What made you become a teacher?" She said as they stared at each other as he saw her expression changed, similar to a curious child.
He sighed before answering.
"I wanted to make a difference, I suppose." He said as she titled her head.
"What kind of difference?" She asked.
"Change people's lives even if it's just one person." He looked rather sad saying that.
She reached for his hand, holding his hand with both of hers.
What is she doing? He was taken a back by her sudden action.
"You changed my life, sensei." She said as he felt his face turning a bit hot.
He looked away, his hand still in hers.
They're soft.
"Sasuke." He said.
"Huh?" She asked a bit confused.
"Stop calling me, Sensei. Call me, Sasuke." He said turning back to her.
Her whole face was red that you would think she was having a fever.
"S-Sasuke." She whispered clearly.
He turned his face away again slightly smiling.
They turned back at each other as he sighed.
"Another question?" He asked as her face went back to normal.
"Ever since his ex-girlfriend cheated on him, he slowly began to hate women."
Should I ask? She wondered as she remembered his mother's words.
"Is it true that...your ex cheated on you?" She ended up saying as he turned his head away towards the window.
"Yea." He said as he got up from his place.
"Where are you going?!" She called out.
"My room, we've had enough questions for tonight." He said shutting the door as she hit herself.
I'm such an idiot! That's a touchy subject. Although for him to react like that, he must still love her.
She frowned as she felt a tight pain in her chest. Suddenly the doorbell had rang causing her to walk towards the door.
That's weird, who would be out here this late?
She called out before answering the door.
"Who is it?" She asked.
"Hinata, it's me!" She heard Naruto's voice as she panicked running to Sasuke's room only to see that he had fallen asleep.
Well as long as he stays like that, I guess it will be okay.
She locked his door as she picked up any evidence of him, making it look like she lived alone.
"Hey, Nards!" She said as she opened the door watching him tilt his head.
"You haven't called me that in a while." He laughed as she laughed nervously along with him.
"What can I do for you?" She asked.
Right! Now is my chance! He thought as he sighed and handed her a bouquet of peonies.
"These are your favorite." He said as she smiled.
"Yes, they are but why the sudden gesture?" She smiled, smelling them which caused him to blush.
She's too cute.
"Hinata, I have something to say."
