The CoWorker.
Days had passed since Hinata had spoken to him. It was either "I made your bento, it's on the counter top." Or "Good Morning" and even then she said it all dull like. He knew they had agreed to not but in, into each other's lives but the lack of communication...
Bothered him.
Maybe this was a good thing, people wouldn't suspect anything of them and it wouldn't ruin his career.
He watched out of the window from the faculty room as kids sat together during lunch time.
His eyes moved onto a specific person.
She had her hair pulled back into a ponytail and her bento box laid out on the small table.
Was she eating alone?
It would be wrong of him to ask to join her as it was against school policy but he realized her eyes were fixated on something else. Following her eyes, it led to a tall boy with brunette hair and brown eyes. At first, she had smiled at him and then he had taken a seat in front of her.
What are they talking about? He wondered as he took a bite into his food. He ended up packing up early as the food this morning was made differently. Almost, as she had rushed during it and barely payed attention to the ingredients she was putting in.
There was also no "Good Luck today!" note inside as she would usually put in. Sure, at first he had found it a bit annoying but now it was annoying without him seeing it there.
"So, do you think you can take my shift?" The brown-haired boy asked.
"I guess I could." She replied as he fist bumped the air.
"Thank you, Hina! I owe you one!" He got up from the seat and ran away.
She sighed as she realized she wouldn't be able to make dinner tonight.
I hope he's not mad about that. She thought to herself as there were 5 minutes left for lunch to be over so she had packed her things and walked back into the school.
"Hn. Now, I see why there was no note in my bento today." She heard as she turned to face him leaning against a wall.
"What are you talking about?" She questioned.
"You made my bento in a hurry to go see that boy, didn't you?" He uncrossed his arms.
"As if. If you're not happy with the bento then I won't make it anymore." She grew angry as she suddenly noticed familiar blonde hair staring at her.
"Anyways, I have to go." She practically pushed him out of the way as she went up the stairs.
He looked to where she was staring only to see a blonde girl approach him.
"Uchiha-sensei~" She empathized her words.
"May I help you, Miss Yamanaka?" He said as she twirled a strand of blonde hair.
"Sensei, I need some after school tutoring! I've been struggling with math and if I don't pass then I won't graduate! Please, help me out!" She pouted.
"I would but you seem to be forgetting that I'm an English teacher not a math teacher." He said as her facial expression changed.
"Well if that is all you need then I should get going. Oh and don't forget, graduation is only a couple weeks away." He smirked as he passed her to get to his class.
She stood there angry as her friends approached her to comfort her.
"I don't need your comforting! That Hyuga has him wrapped around her finger." She said as she walked away.
She placed her books down as she sat down only to have to stand back up again.
"Stand!" The Class President stated as the teacher had walked in and girls swooned.
"You may sit." He instructed as they went back to their seats.
She yawned as class had begun and he began to write today's lesson on the board.
The whole classroom giggled which had caused her to slowly react and open her eyes only to see dark ones staring at her.
"W-What are you doing?" She blushed as she backed away from him.
"I was going to see how long you planned on sleeping for." He said as he looked at his watch.
"A good five minutes should've kept you well rested." He said as she blushed out of embarrassment.
"Go stand in the hallway, Hyuga-san." He instructed as she pouted and walked out.
He's so mean.
She stood out in the hallway as her punishment with a book on each arm. She sighed as she placed them down and looked out the window to see brown hair moving left to right.
They were beating him, nonetheless. She knew he would be angry if she left so she had to improvise.
As she walked down the hall to where they had left him laying there, she ran towards him. He had dirt all over his uniform and was bleeding from his cheek.
"What did you do now?" She said to him as he coughed up blood and looked up to her.
"They didn't like me." She laughed at his reply as she remembered that this was also how they had met.
"I guess a lot of people don't like you, huh?" She picked him up as she noticed the cut on his face.
"Hurry, we have to go to the nurse." She said to him and he nodded.
The class was about to end in five minutes as he walked outside to advise her only to see a mop with a smiley face attached to it in her place. On the side was a paper that read "Brb."
"That idiot!" He said angrily.
"Looks like the nurse isn't here." She said to him as she reached into the supply closet and pulled out the correct utensils.
"This is going to sting.."She places the cotton ball that was covered in rubbing alcohol onto his cheek as he winced in pain.
"A lot." She finished her sentence.
"Yea, thanks for the heads up." He laughed out of the stinging feeling that was left when she removed it.
She placed a bandage on his cheek as the door opened revealing a nurse.
"Again?" She said as they both broke out into laughter.
"Hinata Hyuga, please report to the main office." The announcement speaker went off as she drenched knowing he had probably discovered her.
"Well, I got to go." She said as she walked towards the door.
"Thank you, Hina." He said as she smiled at him before closing the door.
She ran down the halls as she reached the main office to see him waiting there with an angry expression.
"Hey, Sensei." She laughed nervously as she felt her head being hit by his hand.
"Okay, I probably deserved that." She rubbed her head and poured.
6:00 PM
Why do I feel like I forgot something? She said as she opened the register to take out change.
Eh, probably nothing. She handed the customer the change.
He waited as she had not arrived home. Minute by minute, he grew a bit more angrier. Idiotic enough, they had never shared each other's emails or numbers in order for him to contact her.
Not like they could anyway. So out of desperation, he decided to do it old school.
She tapped her fingers on the register as there had been no customer in sight what so ever.
"Hinata, if a customer doesn't come in the next 15 minutes then you're free to go." The old woman said to her as she smiled.
"It's okay, I have nothing to do tonight anyway. I'll stay here until the store closes." She said as it was only one more hour.
Suddenly the door had opened as a couple had walked in.
"Welcome, what can I get you?" She asked them as Kiba has handed her the employee discount coupon they are given when they are accepted to the job.
"I had no idea, you worked here!" His date chuckled beside him.
He gave them their order as she slowly pressed the numbers. For some reason, the numbers were spinning as she couldn't help but press the wrong amount.
"Honey, can you hurry up?" The date said as she nodded but ended up falling onto he floor.
"Hina!"
Hospital
He walked in as Kiba stood up.
"Are you her family?" He asked the man as he questioned but then nodded.
"I'm Kiba." He laid out his hand as Sasuke returned the handshake.
"Sasuke." He replied as he noticed that this was the same boy from earlier.
"What happened to her?" Sasuke asked him.
"She suddenly fainted so I bought her here." He replied as Sasuke nodded.
"Are you her friend?" He asked as Kiba nodded.
"I guess you can say that." He smiled.
"Guess?" He questioned.
"We're co-workers, I asked her to take my shift today so I can go out on a date. Looks like I only added extra stress on her." He sighed.
"What do you mean?" He looked at him.
"The doctor said she fainted from lack of sleep and stress." He said to him.
"Kiba!" They heard as they turned to a blonde hair kid.
"Naruto, what took you so long?" Kiba said.
"Hey, I came running-"He looked at the man in front of him.
"What's he doing here?" He asked Kiba as he shrugged his shoulders.
"Don't know, they said they called family and for one I never met Hinata's family and well then he showed up." Kiba said as Naruto raised a brow.
He knew they weren't family, so why on earth would they call him?
"Shut up, you're all so loud." They heard as Hinata had woken up and cause Naruto to run up to her.
"Those two are still inseparable, I see." Kiba said as Sasuke looked at him.
"And how would you know that?" He asked.
"Earlier, I lied." He said to him as Sasuke raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not just her co-worker." He sighed.
"I'm her ex."
