Lucian's POV

I was handed back to Katsuragi along with the new license and now we get to know who this person is and who is the other female that has a Netbattling License.

???: I didn't? Wow forgive me for that. My name is Superintendent Hikaraya as for the other two their names is Ikaruga who is the NetOp and Yomi who's her NetNavi. Hope you two can get along.

Katsuragi: Well hope we do *sigh* man what a day.

Lucian: You're telling me.

Hikaraya: Now allow me to drive you back home I'll provide the explanation to your mother.

Katsuragi: Heehee thanks.

We got into the car and drove back to my house and from there Hikaraya spoke to my mother in which she hugged me tightly with tears coming down her eyes. He even explained to my mother about my license along with the badge in which my mother fully understood.

Katsuragi's Mother: Wow my daughter an Official Netbattler...you have a big responsibility now...I just wish for you the best and to always be safe. I'm counting on you Lucian please look after my daughter.

Lucian: I will.

Katsuragi: Well today has been one heck of a day I'm gonna go sleep good night.

Katsuragi's Mother: Good night honey sweet dreams.

Hikaraya: Good night. Now with that being said excuse me I must get back to HQ.

Katsuragi's Mother: Thank you very much and good night.

I went to my room and began to take my school shirt off.

Lucian: I was about to say something but I figure I may as well send you an email seeing as how you're exhausted.

Katsuragi: Lucian...

Lucian: Yes?

It was then I grabbed my PET and hugged him.

Lucian:...*blush*

Katsuragi: Thank you.

Lucian: Uh...no problem...but...um...do you mind getting your breasts off the screen please?

Katsuragi: Okay then sorry. Aww you're blushing I've never seen this side of you before.

Lucian: Well uh...that's only because when you're doing something wrong is when you see my usual self.

Katsuragi:...

Lucian:...What's wrong?

Katsuragi:....Heehee.

At that point I could feel my shivers down my back when she made that smile.

Lucian: (I feel something very off about that smile of hers.)

Katsuragi: Well before I go to bed I may as well take a shower today to get rid of the scent of smoke from me.

I agreed with a stutter since I was still trying to calm myself down from that hug experience.

Lucian: G-Good idea you do that.

Katsuragi: Okay time to shower then brush my teeth and then off to bed.

I covered my eyes to not peek at Katsuragi while she's getting undressed and I heard the door close, I cautiously turned around slowly only to see that she really did leave.

Lucian: Well she's gone now to investigate more on this organization that calls itself "The Syndicate."

I opened up a panel and began to research on them and found that they are a net-terrorist organization most of their terrorist acts invovles arson, kidnappings, and murders of NetNavis and humans.

Lucian: So this is what we're up against...I assume Yomi would be insanely powerful if she's in the Officials ranks at the same age as Katsuragi. Not to mention the fact that the Superintendent told us that we are the first civilian NetOp & NetNavis to battle against The Syndicate and lived to tell the tale. Hm?

I noticed that something was coming to Katsuragi's homepage I assumed it was a virus but the firewall prevents the viruses from entering. From there a female NetNavi appeared and she looked cute to boot plus with the way her voice sounded I can assume that she is really shy making her become even more cuter.

???: Um...h-h-hello.

Lucian: Hello who are you?

???: Um....m-m-my name is Ushimaru i-i-it's nice to meet you. This is Katsuragi's home page correct?

Lucian: Yes this is her home page why?

Ushimaru: W-W-Well...my NetOp forgot her homework back at school and she needs Katsuragi's work...c-c-can you please help me?

Lucian: Sure just let me...wow she hasn't even done her homework. I'll tell her about this later on.

Ushimaru: Um...s-s-so are you?

Lucian: Katsuragi's custom NetNavi? Indeed I am.

I then heard the door open and looked back to see Katsuragi with only a towel on and I covered my eyes to respect her privacy.

Lucian: Katsuragi you have a visitor.

Katsuragi: Hm? Oh hey Ushimaru! What's up?

Ushimaru: W-Well Yuyaki forgot her homework so I came here to ask if she can get a copy from you.

Katsuragi: Sure thing just a sec...copy...and paste. There you go my homework copied and pasted as data there you go Ushimaru. Say hi to Yuyaki for me will ya.

Ushimaru: Y-yes!

Lucian: (So cute.)

Ushimaru: U-um K-Katsuragi is he really your original Navi?

Katsuragi: Mmhm he sure is. Meet Lucian my custom NetNavi.

Ushimaru: I-I see well I'm glad you have your own original NetNavi I'm sure Yuyaki would love to meet him.

Katsuragi: I'm sure she would.

Ushimaru:...Um t-t-thank you for the homework copy I'm sorry I have to go now. Goodbye!

She quickly ran out the homepage in a shy and rushed manner. I couldn't help but say what was in my mind. By the time she ran away Katsuragi just finished putting on new clothes.

Lucian: She's so cute.

Katsuragi: Well this is interesting you have the hots for Ushimaru?

Lucian: Gah! You heard that?! (Great she's heard something I can never take back, chances are she'll blackmail me or something.)

Katsuragi: Mmhm and I think it's really sweet. So if you ever see the chance to talk to her go ahead. What you think I'm gonna blackmail you or something?

Lucian: Uh...no...what sort of Navi would I be ahahaha...

She noticed my nervous laughter and my quickened response.

Katsuragi: Wow I'm shocked you think of me as being so cruel well get ready for you to change your mind about me.

She then picked up the PET and gave me a mischievous smirk.

Lucian: Wh-wh-what are you doing?

Katsuragi: You'll see later on.

She then sat on her chair and began doing her homework while I'm left to ponder on what it was that The Syndicate wanted when Haruka said "We have what we needed." She finished her homework and quickly got on the bed but not without grabbing the PET and place it between her breasts causing me to become very flustered.

Lucian: K-K-Katsuragi let go of me please!

Katsuragi: Heehee nope. Good night Lucian.

Lucian: Hau....

Meanwhile in the Officials Headquarters Ikaruga's POV

Viruses kept coming at Yomi from all directions I let them get near her as she spun around making my claymore slash through every last virus.

Computer: Deletion Time 2.00 seconds Busting Level S, Level 30 Cleared congratulations.

Officer: Incredible she ran through Level 30 like it's nothing and a perfect score to top it off.

Ikaruga: *sigh* It was worse than nothing it was borderline boring can't you come up with anything challenging? Yomi and I getting bored.

Yomi: It's no fun if these viruses keep making the same moves even with the One hit limiter I have it's still far too easy. I want a challenge not a creampuff although it would be nice with some bean sprouts.

Ikaruga: (Looks like I got her too addicted to bean sprouts.) Anyways all I'm saying is that these level challenges are all but boring.

Hikaraya: I see aren't we precocious, all of these level challenges were created to challenge you but I suppose it's enough to say they are too easy for you seeing your track record. Anyways I suppose you've heard by now the second girl of your age to receive an Officials NetBattling License.

Ikaruga: Yes I have.

Hikaraya: She's about your age so I want you to show her the ropes if you would.

Ikaruga: I'd rather not she'd only slow me down.

Hikaraya: Hmph if she develops as I hope you can spar with her NetNavi to bring forth your own development. So don't turn this down you said you wanted a challenge right? So why not take the opportunity? After all they are the first civilian NetOp & NetNavi to fight and win against one of The Syndicate's NetOp & NetNavi ranks.

Ikaruga: That is just merely luck playing its part, they only got lucky because one of The Syndicate's teams got careless resulting in their loss. So I'll be the judge of what that girl's made of and what she lacks.

Hikaraya: (Strict, judgemental, and harsh as ever. Ikaruga cetainly doesn't hold back at all.)

Back to Katsuragi's POV Next Day.

I heard the birds chirping  outside and slowly opened my eyes.

Katsuragi: *Yawn* Man that was a good night's rest. What about you Lucian did you sleep well?

I then pulled the PET from between my cleavage to see him asleep.

Katsuragi: I think it's better for him to continue his sleep.

I left the PET on the bed and went to bathroom to brush my teeth. After that I went straight to the kitchen to see my mother cooking breakfast.

Katsuragi: Good morning mom!

Katsuragi's Mother: Good morning sweetie did you get a good night's rest?

Katsuragi: Sure did.

Katsuragi's Mother: That's good then, so where's Lucian?

Katsuragi: Still asleep I left him upstairs in my bed.

Katsuragi's Mother: I see well then I hope you two are getting along well.

Katsuragi: Yeah we are!

It was then my mother placed our breakfast on the table and we began eating.

Katsuragi: Ah! That was delicious thanks mom!

Katsuragi's Mother: No problem sweetie so have a fun day.

I then went back to the room and found my PET with Lucian yawning.

Lucian: *Yawn* Good morning Katsuragi, how're you feeling today?

Katsuragi: Great now let's get going to school.

Lucian: Katsuragi today's Saturday.

Katsuragi: Oh right well wanna go onto the Net?

Lucian: Sure but first I sent you some email detailing about what I learned and most of the Victory Data we received.

Katsuragi: Victory Data?

Lucian: You'll see what I mean.

I opened up the email and began to read and it information regarding SubChips, Victory Data, Blue, Green & Purple Mystery Data, including the Data Chips.

Katsuragi: I see so that's what they do. As for a Data Chip Converter those are really expensive and I would need a lot of money in order to buy the Converter and blank battlechips in order to convert them into battlechips.

Lucian: I think with the incident involving yesterday we made more than enough money.

I then checked my wallet and saw 16000 Zennys when I saw that my jaw dropped.

Katsuragi: You mean to tell me that we made this much money from yesterday's incident?

Lucian: Uh-huh Hm? Hold on email for you Katsuragi it's from the Officials. It says "By the end of today you will receive a Data Chip Converter. A Data Chip Converter allows Data Chips to be made into official BattleChips and with it comes 50 blank chips to convert it. Every refill of 50 blank chips comes in biweekly. Enjoy Superintendent Hikaraya."

Katsuragi: Well that solves the Data Chip problem...hmm how about we go to the store? We can get more battlechips there!

Lucian: Wait before we go let's go onto the Net.

Katsuragi: Why?

Lucian: Because it's vital for you to see the BBS(Keyword) most of the time there's some handy information there that can help benefit you.

Katsuragi: Really? All right then let's see what the BBS has to offer. Jack In! Lucian, Execute!

I plugged my PET into the PC and Lucian was in the Net.

Lucian's POV

I was in Katsuragi's home page and went into the cyberworld.

Lucian: All right time to head to the Square.

As I made my way to the Square I encountered more viruses and blasted them as I made continued onto the Square. It was then I found a Navi shivering in fright so I went to speak to her.

Lucian: Hey what's wrong?

NetNavi: A ghost is what's wrong! In this part of Asakuza area there's a Navi's ghost here...And believe me she's really powerful but the thought of fighting a ghost really frightens me to no end!

Lucian: A ghost NetNavi...Katsuragi what do you think?

Katsuragi: I say investigate the matter so mind telling us where would we find this "ghost?"

NetNavi: The ghost stays away from the main road leading to the Square she tends to lurk in the dead ends of the Net in this area.

Katsuragi: Dead Ends huh?

Lucian: Welp time to investigate.

NetNavi: No don't! She's really powerful you won't last five minutes against her.

Lucian: Hmm...Katsuragi I say we hold off on this ghost incident for awhile, not until we get stronger and you get more experience.

Katsuragi: Aww but I wanted to see this ghost.

Lucian: It's better to hold off on it until we get stronger all right?

Katsuragi: All right then.

NetNavi: Wise choice get stronger and then kick that Navi ghost outta here. I'll be cheering for your victory when you're ready.

Lucian: Thanks now time to head to the Square.

I went into the Square and went to the BBS.

Lucian: Katsuragi here it is to pick up on tips on how to be an effective NetOp. Now let's see the Battle BBS. Chip Combination? Let's check it out.

Anon: Hey I'm wondering about something so here's what happened my Navi was busting viruses and I decided to use three of the same Cannon chips consecutively and something strange happened these chips combined into one and it turned into a new type of cannon blasting all the viruses away. So I tried doing it again and it works however it has to be those three chips I wonder if there's more combinations like that out there?

Katsuragi: A Cannon combination huh...should we try it?

Lucian: Question is do you have three Cannon chips? Wait...someone responded to the person's comment im the BBS wait didn't you have a friend named Yuyaki?

Katsuragi: Yes why?

Lucian: Well here's what she wrote.

Yuyaki: What you just did was called a Program Advance(Keyword) you need to insert specific battlechips in order for a Program Advance to happen I know there's 3 variations of Giga Cannon, Life Sword, and Infinite Vulcan. Those are the 3 Program Advances that I know. I've heard rumors that some Program Advances require Navi chips in order to pull it off. For the Giga Cannons you would need 3 Cannon chips, for the second variation you would need 3 Hi-Cannon Chips, and for the third variation you would need 3 M-Cannon chips. As for Life Sword there is three variations to it you would need Sword, WideSword, and LongSword I'm not too sure on the other variations sorry. As for Infinite Vulcan you would need 3 Vulcan 1 chips for the first variation, 3 Vulcan 2 chips for the second variation, and 3 Vulcan 3 chips for the third variation.

Lucian: So there are some Program Advances that require Navi Chips and those are the only three she knows despite their variations.

Katsuragi: Woah that sounds so cool. Hey wait I have most of the chips already for a Life Sword Program Advance. We can make a Giga Cannon happen! I'm looking through the data chips and so far you have 5 Cannon Data Chips. We have Shockwave chips, let's see what else...just Shockwave Chips...and Ooh a new Data Chip Reflector. This would be good for defense.

Katsuragi: Wow Program Advance sounds really cool. What else can you find?

Lucian: Let's see...here's one Full Synchro. (Keyword) Oh and Style Change? (Keyword)

Anon: Full Synchro is the state in which a NetOp and a NetNavi act as one. There are incredible changes in the Navi in which it's been told that the Navi's speed is increased drastically, and their senses become a lot sharper since it's sharing a connection with a NetOp, however there is consequences to it whatever the NetNavi feels the NetOp will feel the same in short it's a double-edge sword whatever happens to the Navi happens to the NeOp as well take special caution with this.

Katsuragi: Woah I never knew that a NetOp and NetNavi could synchronize together and enhance the performance of the NetNavi but...

Lucian: Yeah the risk would be too high if I was hurt...you would feel the effects as well.

Katsuragi: Well we may as well practice for it when the time comes and besides we'll need Full Synchro if we're going to fight against The Syndicate now that we're registered within the Officials ranks.

Lucian: True.

Katsuragi: All right then copy the data of Program Advances, Full Synchro, and Style Change after that E-mail them to me.

Lucian: Understood.

I began to copy all of the data and sent her the E-mail.

Katsuragi: Let's see now Style Change. (Keyword) Hmm...according to this Style Change is a fighting form that corresponds to each element so far there's eight different styles which is Guts, Custom, Shield, Team, Bug, Ground, & Shadow. Additionally, there are four different elements that any style can take: Aqua, Elec, Heat, and Wood. This allows for many different combinations for many battle situations.

Lucian: Woah that's pretty nifty and with Full Synchro even better cause my senses as a NetNavi become a lot sharper. This is incredible! Hey Katsuragi let's try to find my Style Change.

Katsuragi: Sure thing now anything else of interest?

Lucian: Hmm....nothing of interest well then that case is done so now back to you and the chip shop.

Katsuragi: Right! Jack out Lucian.

Lucian: Understood.

I jacked out and Katsuragi placed the PET in her pocket and we made our way to the chip shop until she stopped and looked at the building. She took out the PET and showed me the building before she turned it around making me face her.

Katsuragi: It's been a long time since I've last been here all I could get was bargain chips which were sold really cheap and this was before I even had a Navi. And by the time I got a Navi it still wasn't enough...I completely lost to viruses and against Asuka which you know is Homura's NetNavi. But that all changed when I got you Lucian so thank you.

Lucian: Well all I can say is you're welcome and I'm happy to be your NetNavi.

We went to the chip shop and we were greeted by my friend.

Katsuragi: Great thanks Ayame.

Ayame: So what'll it be today?

Katsuragi: What new chip packs did you get?

Ayame: Well take a look at the Battlechip case.

She pointed down tapping the glass which had a giant variety of Battlechips.

Lucian: Woah that's a lllloootttt of Battlechips.

Ayame: Hm? Who said that?

Katsuragi: Oh this is my custom NetNavi meet Lucian.

Ayame: Wow so you have your own custom NetNavi now congratulations! And hello Lucian.

Lucian: Hello Ayame how are you today?

Ayame: Great thank you for asking. You're a very polite Navi aren't you?

Lucian: I was customized by Katsuragi's father so if anything I learned about being polite from him teaching me.

Ayame: Interesting Katsuragi do you mind if I see your PET? In the meantime why not look at the Battlechip wares.

Katsuragi: Sure.

She handed the PET over to Ayame and began to look at the Battlechips while for Ayame she connected the PET onto the computer and began typing away. After five minutes I heard Ayame sound surprised.

Ayame: Oh my goodness! This is incredibly big news, Katsuragi do you mind coming over here?

She came back and began to speak.

Katsuragi: What's up?

She then began to whisper to Katsuragi.

Ayame: You're registered within the Official's ranks?

Katsuragi: Yeah I did just yesterday.

Ayame: Wow that's great you do realize that Officials get a big discount when buying a chip. So feel free to choose which ones you want to get and I'll have them ready for you all nice and wrapped up in a box. Also one second...and registration done.

Katsuragi: Registration for what?

Ayame: To be on the Officials discount list so far you're the second one to be registered the first is...ah here she is right now.

It was then I looked behind and saw two girls coming in the front door. One was my friend Yuyaki but the other girl had long black hair and was walking straight to the counter when our eyes met I could feel a sharp gaze cutting into me like she was trying to belittle me despite her being a bit taller she then turned away from me and she spoke stoically like a soldier to Ayame.

???: I'm here for my order.

Ayame: Of course here you go your box of new battlechips take care of yourself.

???: Thank you and take care of yourself as well.

She then walked away while I'm left wondering who was that?

Katsuragi: Who was that?

Lucian: I don't know but she looks cool and intimidating. I bet her NetNavi is really strong.

Ayame: That is Ikaruga she's another person who's registered here. She orders her Battlechips from the Officials HQ and comes to pick them up without waiting on a line.

Lucian: She's your colleague Katsuragi.

Katsuragi: Well there's no way I'll lose to her

Lucian: Katsuragi she's an ally not a rival.

It was then she began to murmur something.

Katsuragi: That's not what the title says.

Lucian: What was that?

Katsuragi: Nothing.

Yuyaki: Hello Katsuragi.

Katsuragi: Hey Yuyaki how's it goin?

Yuyaki: Great and thanks for letting get a copy of your homework and I heard you got a custom NetNavi.

Katsuragi: Sure do.

She showed Yuyaki the PET in which I waved my hand.

Lucian: Good day to you Yuyaki.

Yuyaki: Hello to you too. Oh I got something...where is it? Ah! Here it is.

She then took out her PET and showed Ushimaru in which she automatically hid.

Yuyaki: Come on Ushi come out and say hi.

She then peeked out a little and said hello.

Ushimaru: He...hello.

Lucian: (So cute.) Hello Ushimaru how are you today?

Ushimaru: G-good.

She then went back to hiding.

Yuyaki: Sorry Lucian, Ushimaru's shy about meeting new people when she's not in battle. However in battle she does a 180 degree personality meaning so long to shyness and beware enemies. Hey since we're here why not battle with us? How about it?

Katsuragi: Sure if you're okay with that I mean.

Without hesitation I immediately agreed.

Lucian: Of course!

Yuyaki: An eager one huh. Okay Ushi we're going to be NetBattling against Katsuragi ready?

When she finished saying that sentence Yuyaki's comment about the 180 degree personality came true.

Ushimaru: Mmhm bring it! I won't be holding back!

Lucian: Wow that's an instant change in personality.

Katsuragi: All right then ready to roll?

Lucian: Yes.

Ayame: If you're going to NetBattle then please use the battle stadium here.

Ayame then led both of us to the battle stadium and we were ready. Both of us thanked her and we got our PET's ready

Katsuragi: Jack In! Lucian Execute!

Yuyaki: Jack In! Ushimaru Execute!

We were both sent into the cyberworld.

Well now we got introduction to more characters do note I'm keeping the limit of the friends Lan had in the Battle Network series which consisted of Chaud, Dex, Maylu, and Yai. BBS: A board in which people post gossip, news, virus information, or helpful tips on battling.

Program Advance: Chips that is used in succession to form a very powerful to enormously powerful offense or defense they require synchronization between the operator and the Navi, because they are harder to use, may fail or self-destruct.

Full Synchro: Full Synchro is a state where a NetNavi and NetOp become one to improve focus and it puts the NetOp into direct contact with their NetNavi, transmitting the effects on the NetNavi back to the NetOp, which greatly raises a NetNavi's fighting capabilities. Full Synchro fuses the mind of NetNavi and NetOp into one consciousness, getting rid of the delay between command and reaction, which can make a big difference between life and death battles it also helps in developing the Program Advance a lot faster since the synchronization between NetNavi and NetOp are high.

Style Change: Style Change is a fighting form that corresponds to each element so far there's eight different styles which is Guts, Custom, Shield, Team, Bug, Ground, & Shadow. Additionally, there are four different elements that any style can take: Aqua, Elec, Heat, and Wood. This allows for many different combinations for many battle situations. However a certain program is required to completely use its full potential.
