I woke up and realized that I was in the bathroom and I looked at the ground and my body was soaked in blood.

Hibari: H-huh? Wh-what happened to me?!

I then remembered we were back in that school and how the blood started rising up all because I picked up a note off the ground.

Hibari: *sigh* I'll have to wash this off myself.

I began to take my clothes off I noticed there was something in my pocket and as I pulled it out. It was the same note that I picked up in that place. I placed it on the sink and stepped into the shower taking my clothes with me to wash it off, as the water came pouring down I grabbed a sponge and began to remove the blood off myself. Once that was done I began to wash the excess blood off my clothes.

I couldn't get my mind off of what happened, but at the same time I felt rather energetic like something was fueling me from inside, and those thoughts led to Lucian. Those thoughts made my heart race, he is someone who I want to be with...but there lies obstacles in my path he only sees Ikaruga in that romantic way.

Hibari: Ikaruga...I...

The thoughts then escalated to acts of violence all I could see was Ikaruga's dead body and claiming my prize.

I exited out of the bathroom and headed to my room to prepare myself. As I got ready I went downstairs and met up with everyone.

Hibari: Good morning everyone!

Asuka/Katsuragi/Ikaruga/Yagyu: Good morning Hibari.

Hibari's Father: Good morning.

Hibari's Mother: Good morning sweetie, sorry I didn't see you all arrive yesterday. But it's good to have you and your friends return here safely.

It was then Ikaruga looked at me and narrowed her eyes.

Hibari's Father: Hm? (...That faint glow of the Kagan power could it be that she's...no...there's no way that its power manifested itself now. If it did then...it would be the perfect moment for her to begin her coming of age ceremony to finally take over as the head of the village. But would it be okay if she was to take over as head of the village due to her recent actions...nah it's better if she gains more experience for now.)

Hibari's Mother: So wait Tomoe is getting married?

Hibari's Father: No. It's just *sigh* Damn I don't even know how to word it right without making things look bad. *sigh* Damn...Hibari time to tell your mother the truth.

Hibari's Mother: Truth about what?

I then told her all the events that transpired and she had a look of shock and disappointment on her face.

Hibari's Mother: Hibari...I expected better from you. You went through so much trials to be a shinobi and because of your actions that poor boy is suffering. I have to at least offer him my condolences.

Hibari: Mother I understand what I did was wrong and I want to be the one to own up to my failure of sacrificing my friend's life for my own sake. I will make it up to him, if I must obey his every command then so be it.

Hibari's Father: You know you don't have to take it too far.

Asuka: Jeez you're acting like how Yagyu was when she tried making it up to Lucian.

Yagyu only blushed at that comment which made me feel a bit uneasy. However she then gave me a confused look.

Yagyu: Hibari is something wrong? You're glaring at me.

Hibari: Oh sorry it's just that I'm thinking on how to make it up to him?

Katsuragi: Well why not make him something to eat? After all the best way to get through to a guy's heart is through his stomach with good food hehe.

Hibari's Mother: Oh that sounds rather wonderful, Hibari try going for that.

Hibari: (I can charm him with my cooking, and perhaps he'll finally pay attention to me, and not to the other girls.) Sure! I'd love to try making something good for him as a means of an apology.

Hibari's Mother: That's great!

Ikaruga: Ah excuse me! May I also take part in this as well.

I could only frown at her interference at making Lucian mine.

Hibari: (How dare she try and interfere me?! I'll have to sabotage her cooking so that he will only look towards me. Ah Lucian...you'll get to see why I deserve to have you.)

Ikaruga: (I won't let her take him away from me.)

Hibari's Father: Okay that's enough of this for now, I'd like to go over the mission details. Kiriya, Hanzo, want to relay the information to them? Or should I?

Kiriya: We'll debrief them on the situation but the rest you can handle.

Hibari's Father: Very well then.

Hanzo: So as you're all well aware the yomas have begun to invade this village, and it's our job to help eliminate them. Before you ask, yes, we're also aware that the shrine maidens here can do purification rituals that can eliminate their supposed immortality.

Katsuragi then got up in shock at hearing the information.

Katsuragi: WAIT WHAT?! IMMORTALITY?!

Hibari's Father: This is in one of our reports.

He handed us a file and in it was the report of the yoma being sliced in half vertically without the ritual. The attack left a mark but it quickly recovered after that, however with the rituals it eliminates their fast recovery, making it easier to kill.

Hibari's Father: So far we've had numerous cases of yomas prowling around the forest at night. Some made it to the field to either destroy or consume our crops, numerous counts of destroyed property and disappearances. In one particular part of the forest where we used to get wood people have gone in there only to never return. I ordered everyone to not enter that forest until we get reinforcements. I debated on sending the shrine maidens there but there was also the fact of what if they never return, like the people of this village.

Asuka: How awful...well it's a good thing we're here now, and we can help you out.

Hibari's Father: Thank you, in order to lighten the mood the Bunny Festival will begin soon in the later days. I want the people in the village take their minds off their fears of what's been happening as of late.

Hanzo: So you know the layout of the mission. First is to investigate the forest that was forbidden to enter and find the missing civilians.

Hibari's Father: There has been seven disappearances, if you can find the seven and bring them back to the village, great! But...if the worst has come then bring whatever that remains here to bury them with honor.

Yagyu: I honestly hope those villagers are okay.

Hibari's Father: Indeed, now then I've got things I need to prepare in order for the Bunny Festival to begin, and having to keep up with the reports. Good luck to you and may you all be safe.

Asuka/Katsuragi/Ikaruga/Yagyu/Hibari: Yes sir!

Hibari's Mother: (My little Hibari has certainly grown since the last time I saw her. I remember how before she was inexperienced and nervous but now her attitude's changed and she's begun to mature. Although...she still has a lot of growing up to do considering she used her friend to save her life. But at least she's taking responsibility for it.)

Meanwhile

Lucian's POV

I woke up and beside me on the bed was Tomoe who was holding onto my left hand. It took my brain to process what just happened until my eyes went wide. It was then one of the shrine maidens in training came to the room and was about to say something but then she saw what the situation was for us.

Shrine Maiden: Great Shrine Priestess Tomoe breakfast is rea-....Uh...um s-s-s-sorry for disturbing you two!

With that she immediately left and I was left in my own thoughts.

Lucian: (Oh boy...this is gonna be quite the dilemma although if we were sleeping together and we still got our clothes on then nothing happened right?...Right?)

I looked to where Tomoe was at as she was sleeping peacefully and she was sleeping with her shrine maiden garments on, while I had my clothes from yesterday on.

Lucian: (Okay, I at least know nothing freaky happened yesterday, the only freaky thing was back in the school. Oh snap, Hibari! I got to make sure she's alright!)

I pried myself off of Tomoe's grip and was about to stand up but suddenly I got pulled back and I saw that Tomoe held my arm.

Tomoe: Good morning, Lucian.

Lucian: Good morning, Tomoe...um...why exactly are holding onto my wrist?

Tomoe: Before you leave and meet up with your friends, we still have a lot of purification rituals to go through.

Lucian: Huh?

Tomoe: What I saw yesterday revealed something to me and I hate to say this but you're going to need a lot more rituals if you have any hopes of being freed from your curse.

When I heard that I could only reply sarcastically

Lucian:...Oh great.

Tomoe: It'll take about two to three hours at best.

Lucian: (Oh god!) *sigh* fine let's go through this already.

Tomoe: After breakfast, and then we can begin.

She then led me to the dining area where a bunch of shrine maidens were staring at us and I felt really uncomfortable as there were so many eyes staring at me not out of malice but out of the awkwardness that is created now.

Lucian: Uh...good morning everyone?

I didn't get a single answer until one of them spoke up.

Shrine Maiden In Training: Um...congratulations on being Tomoe's husband?

When I heard that I went into shock and glanced at Tomoe's face and her expression was the same as mine. Both our faces were red as one of us tried to say something but no words came out.

Tomoe:...

Lucian...

It was just pure awkward silence and I decided to keep the conversation going otherwise we'll be stuck in awkward silence.

Lucian: Well I'll be in your care everyone cause...there's a lot of purification rituals. Also nothing happened between us I swear plus we still got our clothes from yesterday on.

That just made half of them begin to feel a sense of relief, whereas the other shrine maidens look down in silence. I didn't even know what was going on anymore. So I decided to heck with it and just sit down and start eating what I saw in front of me which consisted of rice, vegetables and grilled fish. Tomoe took her seat and began to say a small prayer in which I began to clutch at my chest seeing as how the yoma seal reacted.

Lucian: (Tch...damn thing won't settle down. Even with the purification ritual from yesterday this pain just doesn't go away.)

Tomoe: Are you okay?

Lucian: Y-yeah just a bit of a sharp pain on my chest.

Tomoe: (This ritual is going to be brutal for him...I'll only do half for today and the other half later at night.)

We began to eat our food, after that I was taken to a room where there was a large bath filled with water and I could feel my skin crawl at the sheer presence of it. This water is imbued with a spiritual blessing and I didn't want to approach it. But the other shrine maidens pushed me forward gently and I was given a white robe to change in, as the door closed. I looked around for an exit but no luck there was only one and its right behind me.

Lucian: (Greeeeaaaatttt. Now I gotta deal with this fiasco...*sigh* hopefully it'll all become worth it in the end when I'm free from this infernal yoma seal.)

I changed into the robe and told them that I was ready and Tomoe stepped in with a white robe of her own.

Tomoe: Okay now step into the water, I'll be helping you through the process. I swear on my life that I won't let you down. Trust me.

Lucian: All right thank you.

With a deep breath I began to step into the water and immediately my feet felt like they were burning. I grit my teeth and pushed through the burning sensation. Tomoe placed her hand on my back and, I could feel the burning sensation reducing itself but not to the extent that the burning feeling would go away.

Tomoe: (I have to act quickly but only if he can cooperate with me just a bit more.) Lucian, keep progressing forward, I'm here with you, believe in me.

I kept going despite the sensation burning my feet. I kept gritting my teeth and pushed on through despite the pain, we made it to the center.

Tomoe: Okay the next step is.

I saw her go for a bucket and she scooped up the water and began to pour it on my head. I felt the burning sensation being intensified after the water began to pour on me. I bit my lip hard causing a bit of blood to spill from the wound in order to not shout out that I'm being murdered. After the third pouring she then placed her hands on my shoulders and said a quick apology. She made my knees bend to where the water was above my neck and after that I couldn't hold the scream anymore.

Lucian: AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT BURNS! IT BURNS! IT BURNS! NO MORE!

Tomoe: I'm sorry Lucian we're almost done! Spirtual water cleanse away the evil that binds him.

She then lifted me out of the water and placed her hand to where the yoma seal was at and she began to say another prayer which caused me to shout even more. After that I went unconscious from the extremity of the ritual. The last thing I felt was a warm embrace and a gentle breeze. I felt this presence before but where? I began to think back on when did I feel that experience? I could only get a faint image but it was a woman probably about my height with long brown hair. The faint image made me feel like I was safe being around her it was almost like having an older sister. I tried to call out to her but...I couldn't remember her name. I tried to call out to her and see if I she would respond.

Lucian: Um...excuse me?

She turned around and the moment I saw her face I was instantly hit with a blinding light but a memory followed along with a happy sensation.

I opened my eyes and saw that I was back in my house, I looked around and tried to call out to someone but no answer. I then heard giggling coming from the backyard, I went towards the hallway past the kitchen and my bedroom to approach outside. I gently opened the door only to find myself phasing through it. I facepalmed at that moment cause this was a memory.

Lucian: *sigh* Stupid, remember...memory this is all in the past.

I then looked towards my left and saw that same woman sitting alongside my younger self. I got closer and saw them playing with one of my summonings.

???: He's quite playful isn't he? Although I'd be careful when you try to rub his stomach because he might just grab your hand and start clawing and biting.

Kid Lucian: Mmhm! Although he only allows Mom and myself to pet him on the stomach. As for Dad...well he bails on him cause he spends the least time with him along with his younger sister Whitie since Dad works the most, and as for Mom she's at home sometimes but most of her time is on her work.

Her face saddened after my younger self said that, she then asked me a question.

???: I see, so Lucian?

Kid Lucian: Yes?

???: Would you like a big sister?

Cat: Meow!

Kid Lucian: Hmm?

I saw that the cat was trying to get my younger self's hands as he was trying to get me to pet him.

Kid Lucian: Haha, Gary you're quite the needy cat. Also to answer your question sure I don't mind having an older sister.

???: Great! Starting from today you may now call me big sister.

Lucian: (Gary...now I remember, you were the first cat to arrive home, then Whitie followed shortly after that. Heh looking at this now certainly brings back some fond memories. Although I'm curious as to who this woman is...I can't contact father nor mother since I don't know where they're at. Hmm perhaps a closer look will suffice.)

I saw that she had a leaf in her hand and assumed she would've placed the leaf on my forehead but no, she began to whistle on it reminding me of a sweet lullaby that I faintly remember. I walked forward until I saw everything about her. Sky-blue irises on her eyes, long and straight light-brown hair that extends all the way down to her thighs.

Lucian: (Khh...What the? What's going on?)

I clutched my head and instantly saw images of her patting my head, both of us hugging and myself crying after she left. I felt tears stream down my eyes as my heart began to hurt from the separation.

Lucian: (Ungh..ghh...Big sister...where are you now?)

It was then my body began to glow in a soft light until I closed my eyes.

Hibari's POV

My mother took me and Ikaruga to the kitchen and began to ask what were we going to make. I thought about it until I reached the decision of making cupcakes with a drawing of Lucian's face on it.

Hibari's Mother: Cupcakes sounds good but I know you can do better than that! I highly doubt you can make your forgiveness happen if you presented cupcakes of being sorry.

Ikaruga: (Hmm...I think I know what might entice him my father taught me how to make it.) I'll make some curry then.

Hibari's Mother: Curry! Perfect idea your father loves the curry I make however he has a tendency to eat the entire pot whenever I make it. Oh well if he loves my curry that much then there's no harm I can just make more. Although I'm wondering does he have any allergies?

Ikaruga: I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any food allergies.

Hibari's Mother: Well...let's just make it mild and not too spicy for him. Also I'll heat up the rice so that he can get his fill.

Hibari/Ikaruga: Okay.

We went straight to cooking our curry, while we were busy with preparing our food I plan to sabotage Ikaruga's cooking by adding a lot of spice to hers. I don't want to end up poisoning Lucian by adding in dangerous chemicals into the mix, I need him alive and well. So some added spiciness will definitely be the better option. My mother left us alone as we prepared our curry I had some ghost pepper powder and when Ikaruga wasn't looking I made sure to dump most of it in there and quickly stir the pot, whereas mine I made mine normally. We didn't say a word to each other throughout the whole process, that is until Ikaruga began to talk to me.

Ikaruga: Hibari...

Hibari: Yes?

Ikaruga: Why are you trying to get close to him?

Hibari: I only want to prove my forgiveness(love) to him. Also don't you think you've caused enough damage already?

With that said Ikaruga narrowed her eyes.

Ikaruga: And what do you mean by that?

Hibari: What have you done to earn his forgiveness? After all you were the one to send him into a coma after coming into contact with him when you got that dark power boost. Not to mention you've been hogging him all to yourself so I think it's time I got a turn with him during training sessions, interactions, everything else. I want to at least get closer to him.

Ikaruga: Not allowed, after all thanks to your own lie, Lucian's now stuck the way he is now. I'm not going to let you get near him.

I could feel myself getting angrier by the second and I began to clench my right fist tightly.

Hibari: (We'll see.) Once my curry is finished he'll soon want to have more. After all I know he'll choose mine.

Ikaruga: Don't be so sure of yourself. Lucian would want my curry.

We both glared at each other and then immediately we held our kitchen knives to each other's throats not once flinching nor backing away.

Hibari:...

Ikaruga:...

We were staring at each other for what felt like hours until the timer went off making us break contact. I lowered my knife and she did the same as we began to make the finishing touches on our curry.

Hibari: (Done.)

Ikaruga: (Finished.)

We both got our curry ready and began to put it in a bowl with some rice. We then went straight to the shrine to where Lucian was at.

Hibari: (I swear I'll...)

Ikaruga: (I will...)

Hibari/Ikaruga: (Win his heart!)

We made our way to the shrine however as we approached it my body began to feel hot. With every step I felt like I was being incinerated meanwhile Ikaruga's walking normally without a care in the world.

Hibari: (What is going on? My body feels like it's on fire, did she do something to me?!)

I began to walk slower as my breathing felt ragged, whereas for Ikaruga she walked like there's nothing wrong.

Hibari: What did you do to me?

Ikaruga: What're you talking about? I didn't do anything to you...and why is your body smoking?

Hibari: What?

I looked at my body and she was right it was smoking. The more steps I took the more my body felt like it was going to burst into flames.

Ikaruga:...

Hibari: Hmph as if I'll let this stop me, I'm going on ahead!

I quickly ran past Ikaruga as she tried to run after me to go towards the shrine. The burning sensation kept getting stronger and stronger as we were getting closer. I had to make sure I had to give this to Lucian before anything goes wrong. We arrived at the shrine as we saw one of the shrine maidens sweeping the front porch.

Shrine Maiden In Training: Oh hello you two what brings you here? Also is everything all right HIbari? You have smoke emanating from your body.

Hibari: Gnn..nevermind that!

At the same time we said the same thing.

Hibari/Ikaruga: I want to see Lucian!

After saying those words at the same time we both glared at each other.

Shrine Maiden In Training: Oh I'm sorry but he's just finished his purification ritual. Right now he's resting.

Ikaruga: Can I at least see him?

Shrine Maiden In Training: Not sure, that is not my decision to make.

It was then we heard Tomoe's voice.

Tomoe: It's fine let them in. (So the dark presence I feel is coming from Hibari, well time to do another purification ritual.) Hibari may I ask something?

Hibari: Sure what is it?

Tomoe: May I please see what you have brought?

I gave her my curry to give to Lucian and she handed it to the shrine maiden.

Tomoe: Please hold onto that, there's something I want to confirm.

Shrine Maiden In Training: Yes Great Shrine Maiden Tomoe.

Tomoe: I told you to just address me by my name, the titles are excessive.

Shrine Maiden In Training: Yes my apologies.

She approached closer to me and held up my face and my eyes met hers and I knew immediately I had to go and fast. She grabbed my hands before I could run and ushered me inside, where all the other shrine maidens were waiting

Tomoe: You come along as well.

My body couldn't bear it any longer and began to produce even more smoke. Without a word they immediately took me to the purification room and I could only scream.

Hibari: NGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! IT BURNS! IT BURNS! IT BURNS!

Tomoe: Follow the process I've taught you before and from there bring her to one of the rooms to rest.

Shrine Maidens In Training: Yes Great Shrine Maiden Tomoe!

Ikaruga's POV

I saw Tomoe facepalm when the titles came up again. However I couldn't ignore what I saw as to what was happening to Hibari, her body smoking like that and then the shrine maidens took her away.

Ikaruga: What's gonna happen to her?

Tomoe: She'll be purified and remove whatever's got a hold on her soul, as of now she's possessed. (Now to see what kind of sealings I can do to at least separate the yoma seal from Lucian because as of now that seal and his soul are linked.)

Ikaruga: (What the?! Her too?) I see...(Hopefully that purification ritual removes the yoma seal and that darkness affinity for good. I don't want him to suffer through anymore of this insanity.)

Merola's POV

I looked back at the village that shunned me for all those years ago as I was busy setting up the plan for the bunny festival's destruction. With Haruka's help she managed to lure in some stupid unsuspecting villagers and put them inside the pods for yomafication. Plus even if those saps were rescued, it still wouldn't change a thing. They'll still transform into a yoma, even if that shrine maiden did over a million purification rituals it wouldn't be enough to remove it from them.

Sylvia: So how's it coming along Merola?

Merola: Still no sign of that damned artifact.

Sylvia: Well you better find it fast because without it our plans are kaput in terms of opening the portal spiritually.

Merola: Yeah, yeah I hear you.

Sylvia: The yoma seal given to you, you're aware of your skills now right?

Merola: Yeah I'm aware, I'm something more along the lines of a water girl or slime girl, I guess don't know. All I know is I can turn myself into pure water and merge with people to obtain their DNA so that I can become their clone and do what it is that they do in their everyday life from their mannerisms, to walking patterns yada yada yada. Although I'm curious on what a merge of me and that Shrine Maiden can do.

Sylvia: Good question even I don't know the answer to it, you could merge with her and attain her power or be eradicated from the merge when joined with her. However, there's one person you shouldn't try to merge with.

Merola:...On second thought maybe not worth the risk. Also who's the person I shouldn't merge with?  If it's you or anyone from our team then no I won't do that.

Sylvia: Obviously, but don't merge with Lucian.

Merola: Why?

Sylvia: Many reasons, one major reason is if you merge with him chances are...you might lose your mind with the darkness affinity, not to mention the merging of two yoma seals might make you two become a permanent fusion, and we can't do anything until I find a way to break the fusion.

Merola: Jeez so many restrictions on him, you sure you ain't looking to score with him?

She only gave me a look of confusion.

Sylvia: Score with him? What do you mean by that?

At that point it'd be best to keep my mouth shut and obey.

Merola: Nevermind, no performing the merging with Lucian, find the artifact and we'll be good to go.

Sylvia: Yes, and if you want to exact your revenge then go right ahead.

Merola: I intend on doing that by turning the villagers here into yomas, thanks to Haruka's help. Also what would happen if they tried to rescue the villagers and succeeded...more like if they succeeded?

Sylvia: That would be the opportune moment in order to observe carefully on what the villagers can do once they return however if the shrine maidens arrive make sure you're not detected and make yourself hidden.

Merola: Noted.

Sylvia: Good luck on your mission.

With that she dissipated into a red mist leaving me to myself.

Merola: This should be interesting.

I looked behind me and saw Haruka tending to the large pods that held the villagers.

Meanwhile Yagyu's POV

Asuka, Katsuragi, and I decided to do some preparations before the investigation to find out what exactly is happening within the village.

Asuka: Okay thanks to Hibari's dad we have a map of the village and here's the layout of it, we're right in the middle of the village and the area that is sealed off is southeast of the village. That's where we need to go.

Yagyu: Yes once Hibari & Ikaruga return we can commence the investigation.

Katsuragi: I've been looking over some documents and one of the villagers actually managed to get a photograph of something...weird.

She then placed it on the table and from the looks of it, it looked like a regular tree surrounded in a forest. Asuka then piped in.

Asuka: What's so weird about it?

Yagyu: Asuka take a look at the tree very carefully.

She grabbed the photograph and held it closely until she finally saw it.

Asuka: What in the world is that?

Yagyu: Good question even I'm starting to wonder about it.

The photograph showed a tree with some very odd vines, from a distance it looks normal it's only when you observe it closely does something weird appear. The vines had a dark purple like glow to it, and it looked like it was connected to some sort of pod or something else.

Katsuragi: Well that's what we intend on finding out.

Asuka: Yeah, although for how long do we intend on waiting?

Yagyu: Thirty minutes at most.

Katsuragi: All right in that case I'm gonna warm up before the mission, Yagyu? Asuka? You coming?

Asuka: In a bit I just need to look at some things.

Yagyu: Likewise I think there's a bit more to this that we might've overlooked.

Katsuragi: All right then, later.

Katsuragi went off on her own meanwhile it was just us looking over the files. It was then we heard small footsteps and saw Hibari's little sister run in.

Aoi: Oh! Oh! I wanna help!

Yagyu: I'm sorry Aoi it's too dangerous for you to join.

Aoi: But I wanna help!

Asuka: Look I know you want to help but it's too dangerous out there, not to mention if something happened to you then your mother, father and Hibari would be very sad.

Aoi: Okay...

Yagyu: Want to ask your father if you could help with something? He did say about preparing for a festival.

Aoi: Really? Yay! I'll help daddy!

She instantly ran off to find her father, whereas I looked at Asuka and began to worry about what's to come.

Asuka: I know what you're feeling, and to be honest I hope that nothing insane will happen. Otherwise Aoi and everyone else in the village would be traumatized or killed off. But for now I hope that we can at least rescue the villagers within the forest that was sealed off.

Yagyu: Yes but remember what he said? If we attack or kill them they'll instantly heal themselves unless the shrine maidens use their purification methods first.

Asuka: So we would need one of them to tag along. Also speaking of purification we should check up on Lucian.

Yagyu: True, although Ikaruga and Hibari went to go see him so if anything they'll all return shortly.

Asuka: Still we would need one of them to tag along, so that should the yomas attack we'll be able to kill them after the shrine maiden does her thing.

Yagyu: Right.

We decided to get Katsuragi and explore around the village and ask for some clues. But so far nothing has given us a lead. We looked and asked everywhere but most of the villagers don't know. We were almost about to give up until we heard a few kids talking.

Boy 1: Hey you saw what happened yesterday night?

Boy 2: No what happened?

Boy 1: When I was going to the bathroom, I saw a figure appear in the village in a red mist and made a certain whistle like noise. From there I saw some villagers walk towards it like in they were in a trance and then got swept up in that red mist leaving the village. From the direction that red mist went it looked like it went to the forest that was sealed off.

It was then we perked up at hearing this new information that Katsuragi began to walk towards them.

Boy 3: Woah seriously? What did they look like?

Boy 1: I...uh rather not say, they looked very scary. All I know is that they had eyes like the color of scarlet or crimson.

Boy 2: I hope we don't get spirited away like that.

Katsuragi: Excuse us but we're curious about this thing that you saw. Care to tell us a bit more?

Boy 1: Sorry but that was all I could remember, anymore than that and I could get nightmares.

Yagyu: You said that the red mist went towards the forest where it was sealed right?

Boy 1: Yes.

Asuka: Okay thank you very much. Stay safe you three and stay in your homes if something dangerous comes.

Boys 1/2/3: We will!

After the three boys left, we all looked at each other and nodded. We went straight to the shrine and we met Tomoe outside.

Asuka: Um excuse me.

Tomoe: Yes how may I help you?

Katsuragi: We wanted to ask if we can borrow one of your shrine maidens to help us with the investigation of the missing villagers. Also where's Lucian, Hibari & Ikaruga?

Tomoe: For your second question that is quite the story. But for your first request, sure I don't mind after all we're fighting the same enemy.

Yagyu: What do you mean by "that is quite the story"?

Tomoe: Your friend Hibari was possessed by an infatuated spirit. The letter that was in her pocket amplified her emotions and caused her to become lovesick. Quite the dangerous sickness to fall into, anyways she's recuperating in one of the rooms, she should be up in about an hour...as for Lucian he still hasn't woken up from his purification ritual and that was five hours ago. He's breathing normally but that's about it, your friend is watching over him.

Katsuragi: I see...but the yoma seal is it removed?

She could only close her eyes and shake her head sadly.

Tomoe: No unfortunately, Lucian's soul and that yoma seal are intertwined. If I was to exorcise the seal then his soul would perish as well. That seal is impossible to separate from his body, I tried all that I could but I couldn't separate it. The most I can do is purify the excess evil aura coming from it, that should alleviate his soul somewhat and not feel any negative effects.

All of us gasped at this, and began to worry about his outcome.

Yagyu: (Didn't Hibari say that she could remove the yoma seal? So if she can't remove it then...who can?)

Asuka: (Lucian & Hibari...I hope you guys are all right.)

We began to ponder on the outcome of our two friends.

Hibari's POV

I woke up in one of the rooms in the shrine, my head was still feeling groggy from that purification ritual but I was glad that whatever it was that was possessing me is gone. I looked around the room and saw that it was just as how i remembered it.

Hibari: Being here sure brings back memories.

I remember sleeping in one of these rooms when I was little when ceremonies or festivals were starting to get to me and I wanted to rest for the night. There were also times when I went trick or treating in the village and making this my last stop. I could give a small smile seeing at how fast time flies. It was then I heard the door open.

Shrine Maiden In Training: Oh you're awake, good afternoon.

Hibari: Afternoon? How long was I out?

Shrine Maiden In Training: About two hours. Right now it's two in the afternoon.

Hibari: I see, where's Ikaruga?

Shrine Maiden In Training: She's in the room Lucian is in.

Hibari: Did he wake up?

Shrine Maiden In Training: Fraid not, it's been five hours.

Hibari: I see.

Shrine Maiden In Training: That girl hasn't left his side, also your other friends stopped by.

Hibari: Where are they now?

Shrine Maiden In Training: In Tomoe's room they're briefing her and everyone else on what transpired.

Hibari: I'll join up with them too.

Shrine Maiden In Training: Very well.

I was taken to Tomoe's room where Asuka, Katsuragi, and Yagyu were, along with the other shrine maidens.

Yagyu: Hibari!

Asuka: How're you feeling? Are you okay?

Katsuragi: Welcome back.

Hibari: Yes I'm fine now, thank you. So what happened?

Katsuragi: Well we found some very interesting details based on the photographs that your father presented us. Take a look at these some of them you're gonna need to take a closer look specifically around the trees.

It was then Katsuragi handed me a couple of photos and from the looks of things it looked normal that is until I began looking very carefully at the trees and she was right. There was some sort of weird vines with a dark purple like glow to them connected to a pod or something.

Hibari: What are these things?

Tomoe: Probably what's used to trap the villagers inside it looks like some form of pitcher plant.

Asuka: It could also mean that this is their stronghold as well since it has been reported that the yomas seem to guard that area very securely.

Yagyu: That's where we'll make our move. The shrine maidens have agreed to help out as well.

Katsuragi: Yep we go in there, the shrine maidens purify those yomas, then we go in for the kill.

Tomoe: So with that being all said and done ready everyone?

Everyone agreed at the same time however I was wondering something.

Hibari: Okay we're all in agreement but what about Lucian & Ikaruga?

Tomoe: One of the shrine maidens will stay behind and oversee him, as for Ikaruga I think I have an idea. Everyone else get yourselves ready whereas for Asuka, Katsuragi, Yagyu & Hibari follow me.

She got up and all of us followed her to Lucian's room and Ikaruga was there by his side holding his hand.

Tomoe: Ahem.

Ikaruga: Huh? Oh everyone what happened?

Asuka: It's time to save the villagers, we can rescue them now.

Ikaruga: Really?

Katsuragi: Yep we even know where their stronghold is. The shrine maidens are going to do the purification whereas for us we go in for the kill.

Ikaruga: Okay let's do it.

Hibari: Um...about Lucian, has he...?

She turned back to face him.

Ikaruga: No sign of him waking up.

Tomoe: He should've been up by now but to be out for this long something internal must be happening with him. Problem is I don't know what is going on and I can't investigate it.

Ikaruga: Hmm...Oh! I think I got something that can help.

I saw her take off the golden heart pendant and showed it to Tomoe, who looked incredibly shocked.

Tomoe: That's a spirit item! How did you get your hands on one?! (The spiritual aura coming from that pendant is incredible, but wait how could that aura be so strong yet I couldn't sense it? Could it be that she's concealing his spiritual aura somehow?)

Ikaruga: It was given to me by a child who was in the abandoned school within Lucian's mind.

Tomoe: (An abandoned school within his mind...Lucian just what are you?)

Ikaruga: Um is everything okay?

Tomoe: Y-yes sorry for spacing out anyways with this we can hopefully bring Lucian back.

I saw her close her eyes as she clutched it onto her hand and pulled it closer to her chest. After about five to seven minutes I heard Lucian murmuring something.

Lucian: Mmmngg...ngh huh? *yawn* Oh good morning, everyone how's it been?

Ikaruga: Lucian...it's two fifteen in the afternoon.

Lucian: Holy snap I've been out that long?!

Tomoe: Indeed, you should've woken up hours ago, but I didn't realize you would be trapped within your own mind. Here you go Ikaruga.

She gave the pendant back to Ikaruga in which she wore it back around her neck.

Lucian: So, it happened again huh?

Tomoe: Again?

Lucian: Yeah, this wasn't the first time I was trapped inside my mind, quite a bizarre experience I'll tell you that much, it's like being in a coma.

Tomoe: Lucian once this is all over, I want to speak to you privately.

Lucian: Sure. Anyways what's been happening?

Hibari: We're going to rescue the villagers that are missing from the village and eliminate the yomas that occupy the area.

Lucian: Alright.

He began to stand up and do some stretches making some of his bones pop.

Lucian: Hnngh much better. Okay let's save them...oh wait I forgot something.

I saw him try to build chakra but to no avail.

Lucian: Tch damn still nothing in the chakra department I'll only be holding you girls back. The most I can do is say Good luck on your mission.

Asuka: Thank you and hopefully you'll be back to your old self once more.

Lucian: Yeah. (At least I hope so.)

Tomoe:...Well in that case Lucian follow me.

He was then led away to another room. While the other shrine maidens in training went with us to the forest.

Ikaruga: So here's the sealed off forest.

Shrine Maiden In Training 1: Yes, be very cautious however...an overwhelming evil lurks here.

Hibari: Right, anything can happen.

Katsuragi: We'll go in and rescue the villagers and beat the yomas.

Yagyu: Remember the shrine maidens have to purify them first.

Katsuragi: I know that.

We all ventured into the forest and kept our eyes and ears open for anything. I could see some trees and rocks destroyed some even having slash marks on them. As we went further we heard some low growling so we snuck towards the bushes and took cover. We then observed and found one of the pitcher plants and it was quite the size, it looked big enough to put a whole person in. We were about to make our move until one of the shrine maidens stopped me.

Shrine Maiden In Training 2: Wait something's happening.

The pitcher plant began to shake violently until it burst open and we saw with our eyes that a yoma had emerged with a purple aura and roared loudly causing us to cover our ears.

Katsuragi: Go time!

Shrine Maiden In Training 1: Let us handle the first part, the rest of you go for the kill.

Hibari: Right!

She threw out talismans as she said a short prayer causing the aura to disappear and that was when we took our chance to kill it.

It was then we heard more rustling coming from behind us as we saw more of them appear.  We all got ourselves ready for a fight. However the shrine maidens told us to bunch them together so that they can all be purified at once. Katsuragi used her Tornado Spindle to pull the yomas towards her as the shrine maidens began to chant a prayer causing them to lose their auras. We then used our strongest attacks to kill them all.

Hibari: Everyone scour the area! There could be more left and don't let down your guards.

Shrine Maiden In Training 2: The five of us will go with each of you and ensure that all goes well.

Asuka: That would be splendid thank you.

Hibari: Okay mission start!

We all split up on the condition that if we found one of the pods we would investigate and report as soon as possible.

Hibari: Now where are those pods?

I searched around and felt an all too familiar chakra behind me.

Hibari: Should've figured you would be the one to do this...Haruka.

There was something new to her however her skin and outfit had turned into the color of scarlet.

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: Looks like she also possesses what your friend has but his is far more different.

Hibari: I see...so why are you here?

Haruka:...

She sent out her puppets to attack in which I got past all of them until I was face to face with her and began attacking using a combo of punches and kicks. However she wasn't even fazed when I kept attacking her, she just took the hits like it was nothing.

Haruka:...

The more I kept hitting her the more I realized she showed no reaction whether she gets injured or not. I decided to try out the new technique that Lucian taught me. The shrine maiden threw out talismans as it shocked her in the process but no reaction came out, not even a scream.

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: I've removed the immortality from her now strike!

Hibari: (Gather lightning in my hand and harness it, clench your fist and attack!)

I punched her in her cheek sending her away from me it wasn't as powerful as his, but I at least managed to do it. She got up like nothing happened and she only pointed a finger at me as yomas began to appear and attack. As for Haruka she escaped from the battlefield.

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: Darnit, we have to deal with them.

Hibari: Right.

I ran towards the yomas and began to attack them using my lightning affinity to paralyze them so that the shrine maiden can do her thing and remove the immortality from them. After killing off the yomas we searched around until we came across a tree that had one of the pods.

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: I don't sense any negativity coming from it.

Hibari: Best keep your guard up.

We approached closer to the tree and looked inside the pod, it had some sort of sweet-smelling liquid. The shrine maiden got a stick and poked at the liquid and as she pulled it back the liquid stuck onto the stick making it dribble slightly. It almost has the consistency of honey the way it dribbled. However I saw something floating within the pod and asked if it was possible to grab it.

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: No however we can slice the pod open and let the contents spill out.

She took out a combat knife from her pocket and stabbed the pod on the underside

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: You might want to step back, you don't want this liquid to get on you.

I stepped back as she pulled upwards causing the contents within it to spill out. From there that sweet smelling liquid spilled out along with some personal belongings.

Hibari: Th-those are items belonging to one of the villagers.

I plucked two leaves from a bush and picked up a necklace within it had a message.

Hibari: "To my dear, may our hearts be joined in matrimony." I-I can't believe it...the villager w-was transformed into a yoma...

The shrine maiden could only look down sadly.

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: I see, that's really sad and chances are he probably was thinking about her before he eventually turned into one.

Hibari: How awful.

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: Perhaps if the Great Shrine Priestess Tomoe was here she'd be able to reverse the effects.

Hibari: Cna you sense anything else around here?

Shrine Maiden In Training 3: Nothing evil, so far in this part of the forest it's gone.

Hibari: Let's meet up with everyone else.

We went back and I saw the faces of the my friends looking really grim.

Hibari: So it looks like the rest of you encountered the same thing.

Asuka: Yes...the villagers were all turned into yomas...and we had to put them down. We at least took the remnants that they left behind.

Asuka had a small pouch in her hand, Ikaruga had a small axe on her hand, Katsuragi had a piece of cloth on her hand, Yagyu had a pouch similar to the one Asuka had meanwhile for me I had a necklace.

Hibari: So then...the liquid you saw in the pod.

Ikaruga: It smelled very sweet.

Asuka: And sticky it's almost like honey or syrup in a way.

Yagyu: All right so let's go over what we know now. So the villagers became yomas in the end, judging by how we found their belongings we can only assume that they were placed inside those pitcher plant pods and had no way of escaping with the lid of shut. So I can only guess that transformation comes from within the pitcher plant, it's like a makeshift cocoon. Put someone in there and they transform into yoma given time.

Ikaruga: I-I just can't understand why someone...no...not someone, Sylvia do this? What reason could she have for turning the villagers into yomas?

Yagyu: Perhaps it's to bolster her forces. After all instead of relying on humans the yomas would be more suited. However the question I'm wondering is if she'll throw Lucian in there? After all he has a yoma seal now so...

We could only worry at what's going on now.

Shrine Maiden In Training 1: For now the evil presence here is gone, I'm not detecting any malice coming from the forest anymore so it's better to head back now.

Hibari: Wait! How many villagers was it that disappeared?

Yagyu: Seven, from what we got on the report.

Asuka: We only saw five so...question is where's the other two?

Hibari: Perhaps we overlooked something when investigating the pods.

Katsuragi: Okay, so we'll investigate all of them.

We each went to our destinations on where the pods where so far nothing out of the ordinary just the remains of the destroyed pod, that is until we reached Asuka's destination of where her pod was. Further on ahead I saw something odd, a strange mark in one of the trees.

Hibari: Let's head deeper something tells me, we might find one of the two missing villagers here.

Ikaruga: All right.

We went further in the forest and I could smell the scent of something rotting.

Hibari: We must be getting close if we can smell it.

Yagyu: Mmhm.

As we checked behind the trees we then saw two rotting corpses. From what was left of their appearance it looked like most of their bodies were eaten and their bones were bitten into, based on the chunks of bones that was near them.

Shrine Maiden In Training 5: How awful...why...just why would someone do something like this?

Shrine Maiden In Training 4: To achieve their sickening goals and they don't mind using humans as guinea pigs.

Shrine Maiden In Training 1: Let's at least pray for them so that they can find peace.

I saw the five of them say a prayer and we decided it was time to head back to the shrine. Once there we saw both Lucian & Tomoe laid out on the ground foaming at the mouth.

Shrine Maiden In Training 1-5: GREAT SHRINE MAIDEN TOMOE!

Asuka/Ikaruga/Katsuragi/Yagyu/Hibari: LUCIAN!

After cleaning up the foam from their mouths and gave them some water both of them gained consciousness.

Lucian: Oh god what happened?

Tomoe: Nngh...are you okay Lucian?

Lucian: Y-yeah...

Asuka: What just happened?

——Flashback

Lucian's POV

As I wished my friends luck Tomoe took me to her room, and sat down on the pillow and motioned for me to sit on the other facing her. She had a curious but concerned expression on her face.

Tomoe: Lucian tell me what are you? In terms of a spirit?

Lucian: Well I have two souls in me. The me you see now, and the other being my darker half that the yoma seal created.

Tomoe: Is that how you see it?

Lucian: Well yes.

Tomoe: Lucian I don't know how to tell you this...but your mind or soul just might be a container for multiple spirits.

My eyes widened at this revelation.

Lucian: What?

Tomoe: Within you Lucian you house your soul, your darker soul, and countless other spirits as well. Based on what your friend told me it seems that you've created a dimension within your mind where these spirits are contained.

Lucian:...

Tomoe: I know it's a lot to take in but it's the truth.

Lucian: Well...is there any way to remove them from me?

Tomoe: That would be impossible to the way you are now, seeing as how that yoma seal is affecting you.

Lucian: Oh great, as if things couldn't get any worse?

It was then my stomach decided to interrupt and Tomoe looked at me while giggling softly.

Tomoe: Fufu well your stomach decided to ruin it, so why not make it up with some food your friends decided to make for you.

Lucian: Heh...well that's nice of them. Tomoe would you like some too?

Tomoe: Sure.

We both opened the box and began to eat then...

*ding*

Asuka: Oh...that's what happened.

Lucian: Okay who made that? Cause that curry was... I have no words to describe it both of them.

Tomoe: Agreed.

Shrine Maiden In Training 2: I'll get you some food.

She then went into the kitchen and brought us both a red apple to which we took it and ate it. After that fiasco was over, I looked at Hibari & Ikaruga and voiced my opinion.

Lucian: Ikaruga, Hibari thanks for what you tried to do but please taste test your foods before serving them to someone cause good lord that...was dreadful.

Tomoe: Mmhm. Speaking of dreadful there's one more purification to do and that'll be it for tonight. You can spend the night with your friends.

Lucian: Oh man! Well, I'mma meet y'all at Hibari's home later.

Ikaruga: Okay we'll wait for you there goodbye.

They all waved as they left leaving me to deal with one more annoying purification.

—One whole hour later—

One whole hour of unbearable purification later I was heading back to Hibari's mansion to rest up for the night, and so far things have been normal for now. I saw people preparing for a festival setting up stalls, and preparing food I heard Ikaruga calling out to me.

Ikaruga: Lucian let's go see the shrine for a moment.

Lucian: Oh god not again! I don't wanna go back! I feel weak enough as it is.

Ikaruga: But I really want a good luck charm.

Lucian: Huh? A good luck charm?

Ikaruga: Yes, I'm wondering if I have it maybe our luck will turn around, and you can get a big success for the yoma seal being removed.

Lucian: For your sake I hope you're right. Time to go back...again.

Ikaruga's POV

We went towards the shrine and from there, Lucian was telling me of how there were animal statues there and how perfect the detail to them is. As we went up the stairs there were statues of domestic animals from cats, dogs, rabbits, foxes, hamsters, along with ducks.

Ikaruga: Come on let's go!

I took him by his hand and immediately went rushing towards there in joy. However as I rushed ahead I didn't pay attention and ended up knocking over a statue. After it crashed onto the ground smoke began to envelope me.

Ikaruga: Kyah!

Lucian: Ah! Ikaruga you okay?!

Both of us were using our hands to wave the smoke out but when the smoke cleared I saw Lucian's eyes went wide like he saw a ghost.

Ikaruga *cough,cough* Thank you for that nya!

Lucian's POV

After clearing out the smoke I was hoping for Ikaruga to be alright but what I found next was something my eyes did not expect to see...two fluffly cat ears popped out of Ikaruga's head. My eyes quickly widened as I did not expect her of all people to say that. She quickly covered her mouth and gasped. I quietly muttered five words.

Lucian:....There really is a God. (Sh-She's so cute!)

Ikaruga: Lucian? Why are you staring at me like that nya? And why am I saying nya at the end of every sentence nya?

I fought back every urge to not just tackle Ikaruga there and feel up her cat ears however I noticed that behind her back was a black tail as well.

Lucian: Stop talking! I feel like you're gonna kill me with cuteness. And Ikaruga that statue you knocked down well uh...I think it would be best if I showed you.

I then got closer to her and began to feel up her cat ears and the cutest thing about it was that they twitch like a real cat. When I finally grabbed hold of it I began to feel out the softness of her cat ears it felt really fluffy like silk. However I failed to realize that I was making her moan throughout the entire thing.

Ikaruga: Ahn...huagh~mmnnn...Lucian....could you please stop nya?

Lucian: Sorry lost control but you look so cute like a cat girl.

Ikaruga: A cat girl nya?

Lucian: Oh yeah I'm now wondering something...if you'll excuse me.

I brushed Ikaruga's hair a bit to the side and sure enough, she did have her regular ears.

Ikaruga: What're you doing?

Lucian: Just sating my curiosity.

It was then we heard another voice.

???: *yawn* Who called for me?

Lucian: Huh?

I looked to my right and saw a girl with fox ears and had nine long tails. The feeling that I was getting from her sent chills down my spine, this was someone I shouldn't mess with.

(A/n): I apologize to any and all Kumi fans out there if I get her personality wrong, but there's not much info to get a good analysis on how this character should act. But I'll try my best with the info that I got on her.

Lucian: Our apologies on disturbing your slumber, although I didn't know that there was a person sealed within the statue.

???: Sealed...?

She looked at the ground and saw remnants of a fox statue shattered.

???: Oh, right that...how many years has it been since I last got a breath of fresh air? 200 or 300 years? I don't know to be honest.

Lucian: Um so...who are you?

???: Kumi is my name, and may I ask what you and your girlfriend's names are?

Lucian: Oh no, no, no we're just simply classmates and good friends.

Kumi: So, wait you two are friends with benefits?

Ikaruga only blushed harder whereas for me I didn't even know why she was blushing so hard at said comment.

Lucian: Not really.

Kumi:...Uh...okay so does that mean you two have sex in class?

I was shocked at how she responded with that.

Lucian: Huh?! Heck no! We just attend to the same school together that's all. Second time this conversation happened I think I oughta stop saying classmate otherwise people are gonna get the wrong idea.

She could only laugh at what her mischief has caused.

Kumi: Ahahaha thanks for that I needed a good laugh...(This boy...there's something evil lurking within him but his appearance doesn't match it to the evil that he has. Lucian: *sigh* Anyways like I said sorry for that but my friend really wanted a good luck charm.

She then looked to Ikaruga and just laughed.

Kumi: Ahahaha! Apologies on the sudden laugh but I never thought that good luck charms were still a thing now.

Ikaruga: Well, the Bunny Festival is coming so I wanted to get one nya.

Kumi: I see well you couldn't have picked a better time to unseal me so WOOHOO! I'm gonna party!

Lucian: Oh yeah so how can we turn her back to normal?

Kumi: Hm?

I pointed towards Ikaruga and she began to think.

Ikaruga: Is there a way to turn me back nya?

Kumi: Yeah that's simple.

Lucian: Sweet.

Ikaruga: Please change me back nya.

Kumi: Okay here I go...

Kumi had her hands out in front of Ikaruga and began to close her eyes. After a couple of minutes she put her hands down and just said this.

Kumi: How do I turn people back into humans and not animal hybrids again? I forgot...ehehehe...oops.

She stuck her tongue bashfully as she scratched the back of her head, we could only sweat drop at the sight we're seeing now.

Lucian: (This'll be a long explanation to the rest of the girls if they find out.)

CHAPTER 4 FINALLY DONE! KUMI MAKES HER DEBUT HERE AS WELL! I'm extremely sorry for the long wait but I had to deal with life issues, mental problems, and job changes which I've adjusted to. Good news is that I've used my own mental state when I'm feeling depressed to good use and I've incorporated it into writing. It's in a way therapeutic for me.
