Lucian:...

This heavy feeling in my heart won't let me say the truth but I have to he's suffering all because of the choice I made, I have to take responsibility! With a deep breath I exhaled and bowed my head apologetically.

Hibari: Lucian...I...I'm really sorry! You're suffering because of me.

Lucian:...

Hibari: Back on that night where both of us were captured. I made up a lie that Sylvia's jutsu was crushing me, forcing the girls to choose me over you. I'm really sorry but I was afraid...afraid of dying I had no choice. I wished I could take back what I did on that night but it's too late now...but...but the shrine maiden in my village can help you she can remove the seal.

Lucian:...

After what felt like hours of giving me silence, he was lowered his head making his hair cover his eyes. Within me I could feel an immense pressure, I could feel it choking me and all Lucian was doing was just sit there as I told him. I don't even know what is going on in his mind but I felt that the worst has come. Looking to where his right hand was it was clenched into a fist as the yoma seal began to glow and engrave itself like it did before. I tried to touch him but he grabbed my wrist almost crushing it.

Hibari: Ah! Ouch!

He then pulled me closer and whispered into my ear.

Lucian:...Hibari...if you know what's good for you then stay away from me. You can also forget about me training you, you're on your own. Best tell the other girls the truth unless they already know in which case...I shou-

I knew what he was going to say next and I pleaded with him not to go through with it.

Hibari: N-No! The other girls don't know about this! I swear!

Lucian:...One last thing to know...if this shrine maiden can't remove the yoma seal then I'll rip your head off your body. Got it?

Tears could only emerge from my eyes as Lucian's eyes had the yoma seal pattern on them. I could only whimper from the pain I was being dealt with, and the feeling of losing a friend.

Lucian: I'm waiting for my answer otherwise you'll lose your hand.

Hibari: *sob* Y-yes!

He then let go of my hand as I was nursing it. The rest of the girls were asleep including Kiriya-sensei as I hurriedly went back to my seat and quietly sobbed myself to sleep.

Lucian's POV

When Hibari told me the truth on that night my mind went blank, all that appeared was the night where I was betrayed and to find out that it was all a lie made up by Hibari my rage was ignited once again. After everything I've done to help her along with saving her it was just me being used by her. It was then a familiar voice called out to me.

Dark Lucian: (See? What did I tell you? Keep being their friend and you'll be betrayed, after all betrayal is the essence of our world. Everything that makes up this world is built upon lies and hatred. There's no good to be found here, your so called friends will eventually betray you...after all one did to save her own sorry ass. If I was you I'd snap her neck as compensation for putting you through this hell. Oh here's your chance she's trying to touch you just go on and snap her neck! Do it!)

Lucian: (No..I)

Dark Lucian: (She screwed your life up, you have every right to take hers away! So do it!)

Lucian: (No!)

Dark Lucian: (Do it! Kill her!)

Lucian: (No! I can't!)

Dark Lucian: (Fine then I'll just have to force you!)

Lucian: (No! Hibari! Run! Get away from me! I can't control my body for much longer!)

I quickly regained control of my body and latched onto her wrist as my other self took over and made their demands. All I could hear was Hibari's whimpers and sobbing as she went back to her seat.

Lucian: (Hibari I..I'm sorry.)

Dark Lucian: (Sorry? What're you sorry for? She screwed you over so you should've taken her life.)

Lucian: (Grrr! This isn't how I wanted to solve things! Making death threats! Nearly crushing off Hibari's wrist! This isn't what I would do!)

Dark Lucian: (*sigh* Stupid as ever...like always you're still too soft, besides what I did was make a verbal contract with her if she doesn't live up to it her life is forfeited. I win, either way.)

That last part of what he said made me feel an extreme amount of danger.

Lucian:...(Wh-what do you mean?)

Dark Lucian: (The yoma seal is tied to your life, like the light and darkness affinities, you can't hope to remove it. It's like a piece of you. The yoma seal goes poof so do you.)

Lucian: (Then by default you should go as well!)

Dark Lucian: (Not really we're two seperate entities, someone has to remain in the body after all.)

Lucian: (Rrgh! Then in that case!)

Dark Lucian: (As if you could have the power to stop me. After all I'm slowly gaining control of your body and soon I'll take over and crush those so called friends of yours.)

Lucian: (I won't let you hurt them!)

Dark Lucian: (Fine then how about a bet?)

Lucian: (A bet?)

Dark Lucian: (Yes...if they can prove themselves to be your friends throughout one year then I won't interfere anymore my power will be all yours. No complaints, ifs, ands, or buts. I'll just comply with whatever you say.)

I gulped in fear of what would happen should they fail.

The only response I got was a terrifying laughter that I never thought would come out of myself.

I thought back to my friends who I made along the way and even though there was drawbacks we still managed to patch things up and make it work. Although I have to fix what I did to Hibari, but I know that together we can pull through this...so I made my decision.

Lucian: (Okay the bet is on. My friends and I are gonna win this bet!)

Dark Lucian: (Very well however no mentioning of this bet to anyone otherwise they'll forfeit their lives.)

I realized that by then I just put their lives at risk and what's worse I can't reveal this bet to anyone otherwise they'll lose their lives however the last four words made me realize something.

Lucian: (Don't tell me that he can...control my body at will now...no he said he's slowly gaining control of my body meaning I've gotta force him out of me! That way I have full control of myself.)

While I was in my thoughts my other self began to talk snapping me out of my thoughts.

Dark Lucian: (So I take it you're gonna "help" Hibari well don't bother she's already scared and I did a good enough job at traumatizing her. After all she doesn't want to go anywhere near you. Trust me I made certain of that.)

Lucian: (Tch fine then I'll work my way around it.)

Dark Lucian: (Won't be easy, once she tells the truth there'll be some severe consequences. It might lead to the others not trusting her anymore, let alone be friends with her. Ostracized and alone the only thing she can reach out to is no one. Plus if you try to help her then she'll run in guilt and fear.)

Lucian:...

Dark Lucian: (At times you got to stop playing the hero and let other people suffer for the consequences of their actions. You know that I'm right that she deserves the worst! You know that she's wrong for what she's done! You know that she's made your life a living hell!)

The words that he spoke struck me to the core, and I couldn't take it anymore.

Lucian: (STOP! THAT'S ENOUGH! I don't want to hear anymore of this. I'll develop my bond with them and together we'll prevail. I'll overcome that obstacle you placed and reach out to Hibari just you wait!)

Dark Lucian: (Suit yourself slaughter lamb.)

Next morning.

I woke up to a slight sensation of someone gently pushing me.

Lucian: Mmrgh...not now give me seven hours.

It was then I got splashed on the face.

Lucian: Gyaa!!!

Ikaruga: Finally you're up!

I looked up to see Ikaruga looking angry at me. She then tugged at my ear. As I was being dragged I saw that we were at a diner Kiriya-sensei and the driver weren't on the bus.

Lucian: Ah! Ouch! Hey!

She then forcefully sat me down on the chair, as the rest of the girls looked at me angrily except for Yagyu. But Yagyu's was more of a confused look if anything.

Lucian: Ow! What's the big idea?

Ikaruga: So want to tell us what happened to Hibari's wrist?

Lucian: What?

I looked at where Hibari was and she was shivering in fright at the sight of me. I then noticed that her wrist had a bruise mark on it.

Yagyu then sat in front of me and began to speak calmly while looking at me in the eye.

Yagyu: So want to tell us what happened?

Lucian: Well to tell you what happened I want to ask did Hibari tell you the truth? About the night where I got the yoma seal?

Asuka: Truth? What truth?

Hibari:...Uh...

Lucian: Wait! Before you begin questioning her promise me that you won't get mad at her!

Katsuragi raised an eyebrow at that.

Katsuragi: What do you mean by that?

Lucian: Just promise! Okay?

The girls looked at one another and promised.

Ikaruga: Okay, enough rambling Hibari what is the truth that you had to keep secret from.

Hibari: W-well...

Dark Lucian: (She won't say it, she'll make something up to cover her tracks. So much for that friendship of yours.)

I began to panic in my mind but I couldn't let my other half know about it.

Lucian: (Shut up! She will admit the truth.)

Katsuragi: Hibari is there something you want to tell us?

Hibari took a deep breath and began to talk.

Hibari: On the night of when we were battling Sylvia in the forest...remember when Lucian and I were taken hostage?

Ikaruga: Yes?

Hibari: I...lied about the vines crushing me...I said it so that you all would choose me over Lucian...I...I'm really sorry! I'm sorry I made Lucian's life a living nightmare! I'm sorry for deceiving you all! I was just afraid of dying that...I *sob*

It was then she began to cry most of the girls looked sympathetic but one person was enraged when she heard the news. She grabbed Hibari's shirt lifted her up, and slammed her onto the wall where we all looked in shock.

Lucian: Ikaruga! Stop!

Ikaruga: YOU DID THAT TO HIM!

I immediately grabbed Ikaruga's arm and tried to calm her down.

Lucian: Remember the promise you made?

Ikaruga: Remember the promise? She messed with your life ever since you were given the yoma seal! How could I not be furious?

Lucian: Ikaruga I understand that you're upset but there's a method in which the yoma seal can be removed for good.

Hibari: Y-Yes a shrine maiden resides in my village and she can purify the yoma seal and get rid of the yoma seal. (hopefully)

Ikaruga:...

She let Hibari go as she was frightened out of her mind she was shivering nonstop.

Ikaruga: For your sake Lucian I hope it does come off because if it doesn't...

She then looked at Hibari.

Ikaruga:...

I didn't like the way she phrased that sentence she then walked out of the bus.

Asuka: Looks like you'll have to calm Ikaruga's rage.

Lucian: Yeah more than likely. Hibari there's something I wanted to talk about concerning yesterday.

She shivered more and quickly responded.

Hibari: I-I don't want to talk about yesterday anymore.

Lucian: It isn't about you this time, it's about me.

The girls looked at me questionably.

Yagyu: What do you mean?

Lucian: Yesterday at night when Hibari told me of what happened my other self took over and tried to crush your neck Hibari.

Girls: !

Lucian: I had a moment of self control and latched onto your wrist and that was when my other self did everything else...I couldn't control him. Now I'm fully aware of his existence whereas back then there was just gaps of memory where I can or can't recall of what took place. Hibari I'm really sorry I couldn't control myself when that situation occured.

Hibari:...It's okay if anything I deserved it.

Katsuragi: Okay, okay let's all stop feeling sorry for one another and let's think straight. Hibari you said that there's a shrine maiden in your village right?

Hibari: Yes?

Katsuragi: This shrine maiden can purify and remove Lucian's yoma seal right?

Hibari: Yes. (I hope)

Katsuragi: Then by that same logic she can purify that other self Lucian's got within him granting the Lucian that we know full control of his body.

Asuka: Yeah that would make sense.

Yagyu: If it means getting rid of your yoma seal your connection to Sylvia ends, and you can finally be yourself again. So hold your heads up you two because soon our problems will be solved.

Lucian: Right! Thanks girls I'll have to speak with Ikaruga but knowing her I highly doubt she's in the mood to talk.

Asuka: Yeah.

Bus Driver: Oi! You guys better not be having any fun inside that bus of mine! Your sensei's been waiting for at least 10 minutes.

Lucian: We'll be there soon we just had a small discussion nothing more.

Katsuragi: Yeah, we'll be coming out now.

Lucian: Wow for the first time you didn't make one lewd joke. Heh I guess the big sister vibe is re-emerging once again.

Katsuragi: Aww...what's wrong Lucian? Do you want an older sister? I can be your older sister.

I closed my eyes and looked up.

Lucian: Instant regret.

Yagyu: Hahaha..okay let's go and eat some breakfast.

We got out the bus and then I realized something the huge appetite that I gained when the yoma seal evolved. I've got to control it. Once we got inside the diner my stomach was rumbling upon the first scent of food. I almost felt myself drooling at the sight until I snapped myself back and on the center was Kiriya-sensei and Ikaruga with her arms crossed as expected. I took my seat next to Ikaruga as her arms began to unfold as Katsuragi began to sit on the otherside of Ikaruga as the rest of us gathered. I had to cone up with a way to make Ikaruga calm down.

Lucian: Ikaruga I...

Ikaruga: Lucian please not now.

Lucian: Ikaruga just please hear me out.

Ikaruga:...

I began to talk quietly so that only she can hear.

Lucian: Look I understand you're upset and I was as well but you know well that, by now I have another me within myself and believe me when I say I couldn't control myself. I almost killed Hibari.

She looked at me in shock.

Ikaruga: Wh-what?

Lucian: It's the truth but the shrine maiden at Hibari's village will restore me back to my old self, and then from there we can be like a normal shinobi team again.

Ikaruga:...

I saw Ikaruga lost in her thought the only thing she did was pull my arm down quickly and held my left hand against hers.

Ikaruga: I just hope things go back to normal soon.

Lucian: It will count on it.

She only gave a small smile and I was glad that I managed to ease her worries even for just a small bit.

Lucian: Tell you what throughout the whole ride to the village, I'll be right beside you.

Ikaruga: That would be...nice.

The waiter then came to take our orders. As we looked at the menu my mind was ready to jump at the orders that I wanted to get.

Lucian: (Oh man they all look so good! What should I get? Hmm...Oh! Yeah I should go with that!)

I looked to where it has a mountain of red velvet pancakes with a nice small square of butter in the middle with maple syrup drizzling down the side.

Lucian: (This is what I want!) Excuse me! I'd like to have this Red Velvet Mountain Pancakes please with a glass of Orange Juice.

Ikaruga: I'll take a cheese omelette with some water.

Hibari: I want the Red Velvet Mountain Pancakes too with apple juice.

Asuka: Hmm...then I'll go with a toasted panini and some coffee with milk and two sugars.

Yagyu: A vegetable omelette for me along with some water.

Katsuragi: Then I'll take a bacon sandwich with Orange juice

Kiriya: A cup of coffee no milk two sugars for me with some grilled cheese.

Bus Driver: I'll have what their sensei's having.

As the waiter took our order I wanted to ask Hibari some questions regarding her village.

Lucian: So Hibari what does your village look like?

Hibari: It's a fairly small village where rabbits roam freely but when I was growing up we also had different animals as well roaming about, mainly domestic animals. We take care of them and on the outskirts of the village is a shrine that's where the shrine maiden is. Also if I remember correctly there's also some animal statues in order to grant them protection from any spiritual harm. I've also heard of rumors of an ancient artifact being kept within shrine when I was growing up there. Other people in my village say it's just a rumor, and that it doesn't exist.

Lucian: I see.

It was then Ikaruga began to speak

Ikaruga:...So how far are we from your village?

With a hint of fear in her voice Hibari managed to speak up.

Hibari: W-We should arrive there by nightfall from this pace at least.

Katsuragi:...I wonder something if yomas are out and about near your village then what's the chances of us encountering one or a lot of them near your village?

Yagyu: Hopefully the chances are low but if not we'll have to fight them.

Asuka: Yeah but as long as we're together we can beat them!

Lucian: (Thanks Asuka for being the glue that sticks us all together.)

Dark Lucian: (It's going to fail.)

Lucian: (Shut up!)

Dark Lucian: (No.)

After that conversation's over the waiter brought us our food as we all ate. When the red velvet pancakes were given to me I almost couldn't control my hunger anymore and like a beast I almost sunk my teeth into them but I needed to have self restraint. I picked up the syrup and began to pour it on my pancakes, then I picked up my fork and knife to begin eating every bite felt like eating a cloud of sweet, and soft goodness.

Asuka:...

Asuka's POV

I looked at my food and was about to eat until I noticed something strange with Lucian his eyes that were normally brown changed to red. He began to eat his pancakes in such joy that it kind of erases that horrifying stare that he gave us back when we confronted him.

Asuka: (His eyes turned to red and no one's noticed it. Strange no wait Ikaruga's taken notice of it and why is she moving her hand towards his arm?)

She placed her hand on his left arm.

Lucian: ? What's wrong?

Ikaruga: Your eyes they're red.

Lucian: Really?

Asuka: Mmhm look.

I gave him my knife and he looked into the reflection.

Lucian: Huh that's new.

Hibari: Are you gonna be okay?

Lucian: Yeah I'll be...

I looked at Hibari's stack of pancakes and I could already feel myself wanting more I felt like I was getting a sugar rush.

Lucian: Um...Hibari?

With a bit of fear in her voice she squeaked out an answer.

Hibari: Y-yes?

Lucian: Uhm...m-may I have some of your pancakes?

Katsuragi: But Lucian you still have...holy snap you wolfed them down!

Lucian: Sorry but I don't feel satisfied yet and I'm hungry for more food.

Yagyu: This is bad, you scarfed down five plates of Asuka's futomaki rolls and with the yoma seal boosting your appetite you might just eat five full course meals.

Lucian: Ulp...um nevermind Hibari you can eat the rest.

Hibari: No it's fine here.

She split her pancakes and passed it to me, I began to get giddy and began to eat the pancakes with a sense of glee.  Everyone just looked at me as I finished the rest of the pancakes. I closed my eyes and stretched with a happy expression on my face.

Lucian: Man those pancakes were amazing!

I opened my eyes again and the girls looked at me in shock.

Hibari: Your eyes turned back to brown!

I looked in the reflection and saw my eye color return back to normal.

Lucian: Okay that's seriously weird.

Asuka: Do you feel strange after the eye color change?

Lucian: Not really. I'm just glad that the yoma seal didn't activate when that change occured.

As Kiriya-sensei got the checks we thanked the waiter and went back to the bus. However instead of going back to my seat, I sat next to Ikaruga. She leaned her head on my shoulder as we went throughout the entire ride with occasional breaks to stretch every now and then. As night began to fall we were passing by a forest it was then I saw out the window as I saw some rustling and saw something moving along the bushes.

We then heard roaring as yomas began to emerge from the bushes we immediately got out of our seats but Ikaruga pushed me back.

Lucian: What're you doing?

Ikaruga: You can't use chakra remember. It's better if you stayed in here.

Lucian: Oh right...

The girls and Kiriya stepped out and began to fight them as they kept fighting I realized something was different about them they appeared to be more of a liquid form and can regenerate any attacks coming their way. Hibari used her lightning techniques but they all failed it just goes right through them. It was then I heard voices and saw what appeared to be a mass group of shrine maidens with their talismans ready they began to toss the talismans at yoma which began to growl in pain as they chanted a small prayer making the yomas become vaporized in the process.

As they got eliminated quickly I stepped out and began to initiate a conversation but I immediately heard running and turned around to find a very beautiful woman dressed in a shrine maiden like attire. That is until she threw some type of seals at me shocking me in that process.

Lucian: GYAAAAAH!!! Ungh...Is that how you say hello where you come from?

I looked upwards and saw a shrine maiden who looked absolutely stunning.

???: Silence! You're the source of that evil presence we encountered prepare to be purified!

When I heard that I was clasping at her feet, to be honest I looked pathetic and I must've given her one heck of a confusion.

Lucian: Yes! PLEASE DO!

???: Huh?

Hibari: I'll explain everything later Tomoe.

Tomoe: Hm? Oh Hibari welcome back so you're the students from Hanzo right?

Katsuragi: Yep!

Tomoe: I assume this person is with your group as well?

Hibari: Yes.

Tomoe: My apologies for the sudden threat and attack we were out doing our patrol until we heard the yomas attack and led us here to you.

Hibari: Great! We can finally go home!

Tomoe: Indeed your father's very worried about you. He'll be thrilled to see you again.

Hibari: Thank you. Everyone this is the Shrine Maiden Tomoe she's been our shrine maiden for five years.

Tomoe: Well we can catch up later right now getting back home is more important.

Hibari: Right!

We all went back to the bus and went towards the village.
