Name
I stared, mouth wide open, at the silver haired girl who sat, naked, on my bed. I raised my right hand to my left wrist, taking a quick pulse. I am still alive. Then I moved my hand to my head, no fever and then i just stared at her again. She had a stupidly large grin on her face. Alright, think Senku. There are a couple of reasons as to why this girl is in your room;
One: "Senku, don't you remember me? You must have lost your memory?"
Two: "Sorry, I've been watching you for so long, I couldn't wait to make you mine any longer."
Or three she's the - I stopped my thought lunging to the girl, tucking her hair behind her ear and noticing the small piercing. "What the hell?" I screamed making the girl wince. She pulled back, rubbing her ear. "There isn't one million of a percent way you're that rabbit!"
She started to giggle, pulling up the covers to hide her body. "Took you a while science man," She laughed, poking at my forehead. "Oh, you're welcome for the other day."
"Other day?" I questioned and then it hit me. "You actually cleaned the house?" She nodded. I sighed, what's going on here? This is a prank right? I got up, leaving the bed and starting to search every muck and cranny to look for the rabbit. It must have been an hour into my search as the girl walked past me to the kitchen. She was now wearing one of my t-shirts and a pair of my shorts. "What are you doing?"
She turned with a toothy grin. "I'm making breakfast," She stated. "I've noticed you never eat a proper meal, so I figured I would do something nice for you."
This girl has to be a stalker. I gulped, getting up and standing behind her. In one swoop i lifted up the shirt, causing her to squeal and noticed a bruise where the rabbit was injured. Come on, there has to be a logical explanation for this. The girl left out a 'hmph' pushing me away and continuing breakfast.
Breakfast, yes food might help my thinking compacity. I gave up, sitting on the kitchen table, observing the girl as she continued to cook. She certainly has cooking skills and doesn't seem to have placed anything strange in the food. She hummed as she placed the food in front of me and my mouth began to water. Damn, it looks good. Like really good. She placed food opposite me and took the vacant seat. We thanked for the food and without hesitation I took a bite. This is good. The smells and sight of it didn't lie.
Before i realised, I finished the plate, not a crumb being left. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," The girl said. She stood up, i thought to clean the table but instead she knelt beside me, giving me a bow. "I would like to thank you for taking care of me and saving me that night."
I sighed, crossing one leg over the other and look at her. "You know you need to give more of an explanation," I stated as she pushed herself back up. "If you really are the little rabbit, then why are you rabbit who can turn into a human."
"Boop!" She screamed making a cross with her arms. I'm wrong. But what about my sentence is wrong. Oh wait.
"You're a girl who becomes a rabbit?" I asked and she nodded. "Okay, the plot thickens, certainly interesting."
"I - um- I'm lost, is the easiest way to say it," She mumbled, blushing and looking back to the floor. "For someone who doesn't believe in magic, I doubt you would beleive me."
"Try me," I smirked, her head lifting up in shock. "I want to hear the outrageous story you have to tell me."
She gulped, took a deep breath then continued; "I am a descendant of Princess Kaguya, the Princess from the moon." Oh yeah, she's a loon alright. "Because of the disobedient of Kaguya falling for a human a curse was placed on the family that if we attend earth outside are allowed times, we turn into rabbits." There was silence between the two of us, i felt my eye twitch. She's, she's serious, isn't she? "Well, looking back on it, I was tricked into coming to Earth during an incorrect period and thus I've now inherited the curse. So at night, I become a rabbit and during the day I'm human."
"So because Kaguya loved a human, you, her descendants have to suffer?" I questioned and she nodded. I groaned, my foot falling off my leg. Am I really meant to believe this? Then it hit me; "So tonight, you'll become a rabbit again?" She nodded. "Okay, then that will allow me to verify your story to some extent. Is there a way to break the curse? If you go home then surely they can fix it?"
She shuck her head. "I'm unaware how to cure it but I know I am unable to return home until I do so," She explained sadly. I think a bit of my humanity started to come out as she started to cry. "Princess Kaguya committed a sin, which to our people, is so harsh that it passed onto us. But all she wanted was to love."
I sighed, kneeling down beside her and placing a hand on her shoulder. "I guess rules where you are from are strict," I tried to joke. "Though I agree, Kaguya only wanted to love and you would have thought that abandoning the person she loved most would have been punishment enough."
"Senku, if i may be greedy," She spoke. "Would it be possible to ask for your help?" I was taken back a bit. "I've seen how you think and I believe I need someone like you to help me get home." I bit my lip, is it okay to play along with this show. "If you help me, then I will ensure a dream of yours comes true."
I thought for a moment, before pointing upwards. "I want to go to the moon," I stated bluntly. "If you are a descendant of Kaguya then you're from the moon. If I am able to get you home, I want to be able to go there."
The sadness in her face turned to hope as she flung herself into my chest. "I cannot thank you enough!" She exclaimed.
I pushed her away, staring her dead in the eyes. "I will only help if you prove tonight the curse is real," She nodded vigorously. "Alright then. I guess we better go shopping."
"Shopping?" She repeated as I stood up.
"I'm taking advantage of your cooking," I said in a greedy tone. After the breakfast this morning, how can I not.
She stood up, a determines look on her face. "I have lots of recipes and will even make you lunches for school," She advised.
"Alright then," I held my hand out, "You already know my name, I assume you have one too."
Without hesitation she took my hand, "My nickname is Ria," She giggled. "So that's what I'll ask to be called."
"Well, it's better then rabbit," We both laughed at the silliness of the joke. This is getting exciting.
