Chapter 18

Jodi finally told everyone a week later. Everyone was shocked, surprised, and happy. Jodi would find out two weeks later what gender she was having.

Meanwhile, Addie was still having trouble at school, Marcus and Sadie had even gotten involved. But this time, it wasn't her who was getting bullied.

The kids were out in the hallway waiting for their teacher to get there. The bus had come early, but their teacher was also running late. So the other second grade teacher had put them into two lines. Marcus, Sadie, and Addie were all in one line. Dani and Alex were also in that line. Can you guess who else was? If you guessed Andrea, you guessed correct!

Andrea was leading the line. Then, the order was, Marcus, Addie, Alex, Sadie, Dani. Andrea flicked Marcus's forehead. "Stay in line stupid," she whispered to him, but Addie could hear it.

"Sorry," Marcus mumbled.

Marcus got back against the wall like everyone else. Addie looked at Marcus and he shrugged. Andrea stuck her tongue out at the two. "I'm the line leader, so I'm the boss," she announced.

"No you're not," Dani said.

"Yeah I am," Andrea replied. "And I say-"

"You're not the boss!" Alex yelled.

The other second grade teacher came back out. "Who was yelling?" she asked sternly.

"Alex," Andrea replied. "And all his friends are being mean, especially Adaline."

She should be an actress, Addie thought.

The second grade teacher shook her head. "Sadie, Marcus, Addie, Dani, Alex, please come with me," she said.

The five kids grabbed each other's hands. The three girls were on the inside of the line, and the boys on the outside, like they wanted to protect them.

The five sat in chairs by the principal's office. "I'll be calling all of your parents," Mrs. Hogan said. "Adaline, I expected more from you."

Andrea came into the room. She pouted. "Meanies, you made me miss play clay time," she said.

Alex rolled his eyes.

Meanwhile, at McKendrick...

Chase and Saylor were sitting in Study Hall. Suddenly, Saylor's phone went off. She stepped outside to answer it. "Hello?" she asked.

"Yes, Ms. Davis, we need you back down to the school," Mrs. Hogan said.

"Oh no," Saylor said. "What happened?"

"Another bullying incident with Adaline," Mrs. Hogan replied.

Saylor sighed. "Chase and I will get there as soon as we can, but we're in school ourselves, so it could be about twenty minutes, is that okay?"

"Yes, please hurry."

Saylor hung up. She explained everything to their Study Hall teacher and he dismissed her and Chase. Then they went to talk to Ms. Diona. She said they may leave anytime for Addie as long as they notified their current teacher and her first.

They saw Sun Hi and Dylan coming down from Ms. Diona's as well. "Marcus and Sadie too?" Saylor asked, and Sun Hi nodded. "This must be bad."

The four decided to just take one car and they drove to Heart Wing Academy. They found Addie, Sadie, Marcus, Alex, and Dani all in the office. And a little girl across from them that Saylor guessed was Andrea.

They entered the principal's office, where three other sets of parents were. "Ms. Davis, Mr. Sanderson, Ms. Song, and Mr. Ringson, please, come in," Mrs. Hogan said.

"Children?!" A lady asked. "How old are you young lady?!"

She was looking at Saylor. "Fifteen," Saylor mumbled.

The lady was shocked. "When did you have Adaline??" she yelled.

"She was adopted," Chase replied, getting defensive of his girlfriend. "Leave her alone."

The lady scoffed, and her husband glared at Chase. "Now, we were told that all of your children, except you Mr. and Mrs. Daniels, were bullying Andrea," Mrs. Hogan said.

"There must be a mistake," Alex's mom said. "Alex wouldn't do anything unless he was defending someone."

"Same with Marus and Sadie," Sun Hi said.

"Dani too," Dani's father said.

Suddenly, they heard yelling from outside. All of the parents came out of the room to find a quite a scene. "Why are you so mean?!" Addie yelled.

"I'm not mean!" Andrea replied.

"Yes you are!" Marcus said.

Andrea went over to Addie and pushed her down. Dani and Sadie ran over to make sure she was okay. Marcus and Alex got mad. Marcus pushed Andrea down as well. "No one hurts my friend!" he yelled.

That's when the parents stepped in. Sun Hi picked up Marcus who was still mad. Saylor rushed over to her daughter, who was crying. She picked her up, rubbing her back soothingly. Chase put his arms around his girls. Dylan took Sadie's hand, then picked her up because she had begun crying too.

All of the girls were crying. As soon as their parents put them back down to talk to the principal again, the boys ran to comfort them. Alex had Dani and Addie's heads on his shoulders. Marcus was comforting his twin, holding her in his lap as he told her it was going to be okay. Andrea glared at them.

"That..." Andrea's mom said. "My daughter was provoked!"

"It doesn't matter," Mrs. Hogan said. "Andrea and Marcus will both be unable to come to school for the rest of the week. And today, I believe you all should take your children home and talk to them."

The parents all nodded, then went to collect their children. Addie took her mother's hand immediately. They went back to the van they had taken with Sylan. All three kids got into the very back, Chase and Saylor were in the middle, and Sylan was in the front. They dropped Chaylor and Addie off at Jared's.

Addie said she was going to do the work her teacher had sent home and ran upstairs. Chase and Saylor sat on the couch. He had his arm around her and was staring straight ahead, when he suddenly he heard a sniffle. He looked over to see Saylor crying. "Come here," he said, and she cried into her shirt. "What's wrong?"

Saylor looked up at him. "I just don't want her to get hurt."

Well, this chapter made me cry, but I also thought it was super cute. Anyways, don't forget to comment and vote!
