You had seen mori when you were both introduced by your father, however both of you were never together, you never interacted with each other

In your room you looked out the window looking at the ocean across it the island of Shikoku

You were lost in thought when a noise startled you

Akane's POV

"My lady Akane lord mori requests to see you" a soldier said

"Yes, tell him I'll be there" I said

The soldier nodded and left

I sighed 'why couldn't I marry someone else?' I thought

I changed my kimono to a more formal one it was a short blue kimono that I was given to me by my late mother

I made my way to see my future husband

The soldier looked at me and nodded knowing I was here to see mori

He entered first and announced me

"My lord mori, lady Akane is here" he said

"Send her in" you heard his voice say

The soldier led you inside his room

"No,I believe not" I said defeatedly

I walked towards him and took his hand, he soon led us to the balcony of his room

The view also held his soldiers training for war it made my stomach flip because I knew how mori treated his soldiers like pawns nothing more than just a sacrifice to get what he wants

"I hope you may get what you wish for my lord mori" I said turning away

He turned to me at my sudden distance

"Hey look at me" he said angling my face to meet his gaze

"You know why we are getting married right?"

"Yes, I'm aware of why we wed"

"Do you regret your decision having to marry me?" He asked

"......No my lord I don't regret my decision all I want is what's best for my clan just like you" I said after a pause

He looked at me and a faint smile spread across his face

"We will have the most beautiful wedding I promise you, you will become the most beautiful bride in all of Japan" he said in a whisper

I couldn't say anything wen though he was trying to be sensitive towards my feelings It couldn't make me feel better about the situation I was forced to marry this cold man

"The moon is so bright tonight" I said changing the conversation pulling away from him

"Umm yes, I guess so it's not as beautiful as the sun but it has beauty indeed" he said

"My lord it's cold tonight you should get some rest" I said

Mori's POV

She was all I could think about last night she had kissed my cheek then left the room

I walked down the halls of my palace I overheard some soldiers talking I stopped when I heard them mention Akane

The soldier terrified nodded and grabbed his dead friend away from my sight

I made my way to the war room to discuss strategies on how to take Shikoku from chosokabe

Akane's POV

I spent the morning in my room looking out into the ocean

"I want to go there it must be beautiful" I said to myself

"It is my lady I hope you get to see it my lady" the servant said

"I want to explore the palace do you know of somewhere I can go?" I asked the servants that were cleaning my room

"Well my lady you could go to the training grounds"

I frowned I didn't want to see poor soldiers training to give away their lives just for mori

"Or! you could go to the secret garden" she said

"Secret garden where's that?!" I asked excitedly

"Well my lady it's in the courtyard passed a small river surrounded by bamboo if you pass the river and keep walking straight you'll reach the secret garden" she said

"How do you know of that place?" I asked

"I saw once lord mori go through there worried that something might have happened to him I followed then I saw it a beautiful garden I quickly turned around not wanting to get scolded by lord mori" she said

"Thank you I shall be on my way" I announced

"Be careful you don't get caught!" she yelled out

I made my way out of the palace into the courtyard I make sure no soldiers were in sight I went to the small river crossed the bridge and went inside the bamboo field I went straight to find a beautiful garden filled with exotic flowers and a small waterfall was made with a stream with small animals such as frogs, birds and butterflies

"It's so peaceful here" I said to myself

I listened to the water in the stream and the feeling of the breeze on my skin, soon I had fallen asleep on the smooth grass

Mori's POV

After a long eventful day I made my way outside to the courtyard I saw the moonlight it was already dark I went to the garden I had made in secret I walked into the bamboo field to the garden I was surprised when I saw Akane sleeping peacefully on the grass near the stream

"How did she get here?" I said to myself

I walked near her sleeping form I kneeled down next to her her kimono was slightly opened revealing her cleavage to me

I closed her kimono and picked her up bridal style I soon left the garden and walked back to the palace

"Thank you but can I perhaps ask how did I get back in my room?" I asked

"I should apologize for my nuisance to him" I said

"My lady you are not a nuisance to lord mori! he cares about you, he may not show it but he does" the servant girl said

"I should make it up to him" I said while eating my breakfast

"Lord mori is very stressed out today my lady it wouldn't be wise to approach him" the servant girl said

"I know what I can do I can give him a massage back home I used to work with a doctor he was also a masseuse he taught how to relieve stress points through massages" I said

"Well that could work I will give you some scented oil my lady" the servant girl said bowing

"Please do, tonight I will make it up to mori" I said

Mori's POV

I was so stressed out I had to finish wedding preparations for tomorrow

"Yes, I think he's going to be quite impressed" I said

"Your mother would've been so happy" father said sadly

"Oh father she is happy" I said

"Your right she's watching over you from above are you ready to go?" He asked extending his hand

"Yes" I said

Father and I made it to the ceremony I saw mori wearing the black traditional kimono

Father handed me to mori sama

"You look beautiful" mori mouthed

"Arigato" I mouthed

The priest started with the ceremony we exchanged the rings we said our vows and soon the ceremony was concluded

"I now pronounce you mori and Akane motonari you make kiss your bride lord motonari" the priest said

Mori kissed me an everyone cheered

"I love you Akane" mori whispered in my ear

"I love you too mori" I giggled

"I can't wait to ravage you tonight" he whispered
