Mitsunari's POV

I was wandering around the land of the rising sun after the fall my lord hideyoshi and hanbei sama it was up to me to continue the work of my lord hideyoshi

I stopped at a village called Crimson Butterfly

I entered an inn I walked to the counter and approached the inn keeper

"I'll be staying here for a night" I stated

He told me how much it was going to cost, I gave him the amount of money

I wandered around the town once I had my room

'This town seems easy to conquer I'll have yoshitsugu plan an attack once I get back to the castle'

It was getting late the streets were empty I was going back to my room at the inn

A scream startled me it was coming from around the corner of the inn

"Ah let me go!!" A girl screamed out

She was being pinned by a couple of men to a wall

"Now don't be like that we just want to get to know you better that's all" the man chuckled

'My lord hideyohi's would never allow this!!'

The man tried to pry open her kimono

"Kyaaah!! No!!!"

"You lot leave the girl alone" I ordered

"Well,well what do we have here why don't you stop playing the hero and go away boy" another man spat

"Yeah get lost!" Another man said

"You have three seconds to let this girl go or I'll cut that hand of yours off" I warned

They looked at each other and laughed

"You wish!" He spat

*SLICE!!*

In less than a second I sliced the man's arm off

"Ahhh!!!"

The man dropped the girl down to the floor she slumped to the floor

"Now then who's next?" I asked

"You bastard!! You're a monster!!" They yelled

They lunged at me with their swords all at once I quickly cut them down

I flinched when I felt a sword actually Stab my arm I quickly cut him down one by one

All the blood pooled down around me

I looked down to the girl she was shaking from what she had witnessed

"Are you alright?" I asked

"Yes...thank you"

I cringed at those words 'thank you'

I started walking away

"Wait!!" She exclaimed

I stopped dead in my tracks

"What's your name?"

"It's ishida mitsunari"

"Ishida Mitsunari...you're bleeding!!"

I looked at my arm "It's nothing"

"No we have to treat or it'll get infected...let me help you!" She offered

"Help?"

"I can be use to you I can do practically anything though I'm not a fighter but I can cook for you heal your wounds and even be a messenger for you" she explained

I turned around to face her "Now why would you think I need a messenger?" I asked

She stood up "I know who you are you're the general of the western army right? You're looking for allies to take down the eastern army if I'm correct"

"Yes, that's why I have to this on my own you'll only be a burden" I answered coldly

I turned my back towards her and continued walking

"Well I guess I can always offer my services to the eastern armies general Tokugawa ieyasu" she said

My eyes widened I turned around and looked at her "You want to make yourself useful to me fine go fetch us something to eat and make it quick" I spat angrily

"Hai!"

"Wait! what's your name?" I asked

"It's yui" she said as she left

I sighed 'what did I just do?'

Yui's POV

Mitsunari quickly changed his mind about having me around once I mentioned Tokugawa ieyasu

I smiled secretly when he accepted my offer I quickly went to a shop nearby that was still open and bought some food I thought was to mitsunari's possible taste and hope I did good

I found what inn mitsunari was staying so I went up to his room and knocked on his door he opened it

"It's about time you got back" he said

"I'm sorry mistunari It was difficult to get something that you would like" I explained

I laid the food down on the table and he looked at it

"What is this?"

"It's sweet and sour chicken try it with rice it's really good"

He glared at me then at the food he picked up the chop sticks and and tried some of the chicken and rice

"Hmm it's fine" he said as he kept eating it

"Really I'm glad" I said happily

He sipped some of the green tea

"Do you have any family?" Mistunari asked

"No, I don't my parents just disappeared one day when I was a child I never saw them since" I said

Mistunari stayed quiet I sat down across from him once he finished his meal I noticed the that blood was dripping onto the floor

"Ah let me clean your wound" I suggested

I hurried to his side and looked at his arm

"Can you take of your armor?"I asked

Mistunari glared at me" what are you exactly asking me?"

"I'm not asking anything out of the ordinary I'm asking you to take off your armor so I clean that wound on your arm" I argued

Mistunari sighed "fine"

Mitsunari took off the armor above his waist leaving him with only a tunic underneath

He extended his arm towards me I grabbed a cloth and cleaned his wound mistunari winced

"It's okay it's nothing that bad just bear with it alright" I reassured

Once I finished I dressed the wound and he put his armor back on

"Do you always sleep with your armor on?"

"Why not? that way I'm always prepared" he answered

"Prepared for what?"

"Prepared to kill someone"

I stayed silent for a bit 'so this is the life of a warrior?'

"You should rest" I suggested

"Where do you live?" Mistunari asked

"I live in a small cabin on the other side of the town"

"What did those men want with you?" He asked

"They wanted to sleep with me they had been constantly stalking me everywhere I wanted to get rid of them but I'm only a girl and I cannot fight" I confessed

"You should get out of this village as soon as possible it won't be long till they find the bodies of those men and blame you" I said

"Gather whatever belongings you can we're leaving in the morning meet me at dawn at the village's entrance we have to leave this place I have to get back to Osaka castle" he said

"Alright goodnight Mistunari" I said

Mistunari's POV

'Why did I let that girl travel with me? Also why did I feel so relaxed when I was around her? Never mind I'll get to Osaka castle and give her to yoshitsugu and tell him to make her useful'

I laid back on the futon and rested for a little I had to prepare to leave at dawn

Yui's POV

I arrived at home and quickly gathered my things in a small backpack I also grabbed all the money I had hidden underneath the floor boards

"Oh no it's already dawn!" I exclaimed

I quickly grabbed my bag and ran towards the village entrance

Mitsunari's POV

Where is that girl?! She's late!! We have to leave quickly

In that moment she arrived she looked so beautiful she wore a short green kimono and her hair was in twin tails

I shook my head and snapped out of my trance

"You're late" I said coldly

"I'm sorry I was still gathering my stuff" She explained

"Do you have everything?" I asked

"Yes"

"Won't you miss this village?you can still reconsider and stay" I asked

"No I won't miss it I had nothing when I stayed here it's no different if I leave" she said

I chuckled "well then let's leave" I said

We left the village and made our way to Osaka castle

Time skip~~~~~~~

"Mistunari it's getting dark" yui said

"And?"

"Shouldn't we rest maybe we can go to an inn and stay there the night also aren't you hungry?" I asked

"We'll won't get there in time if we stop and rest" he said

"You need to sleep and eat mistunari you need to take care of yourself" I argued

"I can manage fine" he said

"No we're staying somewhere mistunari" I decided

"Who said you could give me orders?!" Mistunari spat angrily getting in my face

I was startled but then spat back at him "Mitsunari you need to take care of yourself you'll become weak if you neglect your needs" I explained

"I'm fine if you don't like then you're welcomed to go back to your village" mistunari spat angrily

'Mistunari and that damn pride of his I'll make you swallow it whole' I swore in my mind

I changed my attitude rather quickly to a more pleading tone

"Don't be like that mitsunari it's dark and we need to stay somewhere and eat then we can go back to Osaka castle the next morning please mistunari" I quietly begged

He still refused

I touched his face "please mistunari it's just one night please" I whispered sweetly

He smacked my hand away lightly

Mistunari closed his eyes and sighed "fine but we're going to leave early in the morning" he warned

I smiled and quietly mouthed "thank you"

I dragged mistunari to a village nearby

"I'll go look for an inn you go buy us some food" mistunari ordered

"Alright" I said

We both went out separate ways I went to a shop and bought some dumplings and tea

I met with mitsunari at the inn

"I got us two rooms did you get the food?" He asked

"Yes, I did lets go eat it at your room" I suggested

We both went to the room and ate the food and drank the tea

"Mistunari you have some food on your face" I said

"Where?" He asked

"It's near your lips" I pointed

He licked the excess of food from his mouth I couldn't help but fantasy about his lips and tongue it made me blush

"Yui?"

"Eh?! What mitsunari?" I asked

"Are you alright? your face is red"

"Yes, I'm fine it's just the heat I think I should go goodnight mitsunari" I said and quickly left

I laid on the bed in my room I thought about mitsunari and my face became red

"No don't think about that!" I said to myself

I turned around and went to sleep

Time skip in the morning.....

I was sleeping soundly when I heard a loud knock on my door

"Yui! We're leaving get up!"

I jumped up it was mitsunari I quickly got up and changed

"Coming!!" I exclaimed

I opened the door to see mitsunari furious

"Good morning"

"We're leaving" he said coldly

I squeaked "Hai"

We left the village and made our way to Osaka castle we arrived at night

When we arrived to Osaka castle it was enormous we went inside to a throne room a large gauntlet was laid on the top

Mitsunari bowed to it "my lord hideyohi I have returned"

I also bowed to it

"Oh mistunari you're back" a mans voiced creeped

I turned around and saw a man in bandages and sitting on top of a box that floated?

"And who's this mitsunari?"

Mitsunari stood up "This is a woman I picked up in the village Crimson Butterfly she has agreed to make hereof useful to us do with her what you see fit" mitsunari said

"I see what's your name girl?" Yoshitsugu asked

"It's yui sir" I said bowing

"Hmm it'll be difficult to a find a job suitable for you" he pondered

"She can do mostly anything but fight" mistunari added

"Alright then you'll be a messenger you'll travel with mitsunari gaining allies for the western army" he said

"I have shall do my best" I said

"Mistunari you don't have a problem with that don't you?" Yoshitsugu asked

"No, it's fine however she can be rather difficult to deal with" mistunari said through gritted teeth

"I would like to say something in my defense mistunari here has neglected his physical needs like eating and sleeping if he continues like this I'm afraid he'll collapse or worse get sick and become weak" I explained

"Mistunari you should hear her advice if you don't keep up your strength you won't be able to get your revenge on Ieyasu" yoshitsugu said

"I'll try my best to keep my body in the best of conditions" mistunari said

"Good now yui you'll be staying here in the meantime while I appoint tasks to you I'll have a servant show you to the bathroom if you want to bathe before dinner" yoshitsugu said

"Thank you"

Soon a servant took my bag and another servant escorted me to the bathroom

"Wow it's so big!!" I said in awe

I got in and it was very warm I stayed in the bath for about 30minutes I loosened my twin tails and washed my hair leaving it down

A robe was hung for me to put on after I had bathed

I wore the robe and a servant showed me to my room

The room was enormous yet again it wasn't called a castle just for show

Meanwhile mitsunari's POV....

I was talking to yoshitsugu about my trip from Crimson village to here

"It seems it was a hassle to travel with that girl wasn't it mistunari?" Yoshitsugu teased

"Shut up"

"She's a very bright girl however she's persistent and that's something we can use mistunari you lose your temper rather quickly but if that girl is just like you said then she'll be able to gain allies for us" yoshitsugu implied

"Anyways it's time for dinner you should go look for her mitsunari" he suggested

"Fine"

A servant showed me where her room was and I barged in

"Eh?! Mistunari!"

"Yui?"

"Yes what is it?"

"You look older" I said

"Oh it must be the hairstyle actually mitsunari I'm the same age as you" she said

"Anyways yoshitsugu wants you to come to dinner get dressed already I'll be waiting for you outside in the hallway" I informed

"Fine"

I left the room and waited for her in the hallway after 10minutes the sliding door opened to reveal yui dressed in a short blue kimono with a butterfly pattern on it and her blondish brown hair down in curls at the ends I was left speechless how can a childish girl become a woman in such a short amount of time?!

"Can we go now?" She asked innocently

"Yes, let's go"

We arrived at the dining hall yoshitsugu greeted us as we ate our meal

"Mitsunari I want you and yui to go to takeda to talk about a possible alliance" yoshitsugu said

"Alright I will go tomorrow and make my way to takeda" mitsunari said

"Yui you have the authority to overrule mitsunari if he refuses to eat or stay somewhere" yoshitsugu informed

"Hai"

Mistunari looked at me and huffed but said nothing

Once we finished our meal we went immediately to bed

(Time skip at the takeda clan)

We arrived at takeda after a long journey mitsunari and I were waiting to talk to the general when someone confronted him

"So you're here Mitsunari ishida well I guess that means I don't have to go to Osaka now I will defeat you here and now" a man with blue armor and an eye patch stated

"Who are you? have we met before?" Mistunari asked

"What?! You bastard don't tell me you've forgotten who I am" the man stated

"I honestly don't remember you go away you annoy me" mitsunari said

Mitsunari turned his back and walked towards the takeda when the man in the blue armor tried to attack him but yukimura sanada blocked the attack with his spears

"Eh?! Yukimura get out of my way!" He yelled

"No if you want to get to ishida you'll have to go through me first masamune Dono" yukimura stated

"Then I'll have to cut you down first" the man stated angrily

"Yui we're leaving" mistunari said

"Hai!"

"Wait! We haven't discussed the alliance yet!"a ninja in camouflage exclaimed

"I did as yoshitsugu asked I went to the takeda and asked for an alliance give me your answer at Osaka" mitsunari said

Me and mitsunari left the takeda and returned to Osaka leaving yukimura's fate to the heavens

Time skip at Osaka castle....

Mitsunari had to report to yoshitsugu about what happened at the takeda and after that he was going to bathe, I however returned to my room

(Meanwhile mitsunari's POV)

I had sat in the bath thinking about today and about yui

'Where is she? She usually waits outside after I'm done talking to yoshitsugu but when I left the room she wasn't there' I thought

"No way...don't tell me she left me for ieyasu!" I exclaimed

I quickly got out of the bath and placed a robe over my body I don't even put my armor on

I ran outside the bath and down the halls to yui's room I opened the sliding door panting heavily

Yui's POV

I was kneeling in front of the window admiring nature when my door suddenly opened

It was mitsunari he was soaking wet as if he had just gotten out of the bath, he was also panting heavily as if he ran for miles

As I stood up he walked towards me and grabbed my hand "Mitsunari?__eh?!"

He pinned me down into the floor his head laying on my breast

"Mistunari what's wrong? your hair is wet" I complained

"Shut up! stay like this, don't you dare disobey me" he warned

Mistunari lifted his head and looked at me

"I'm tired I'm going to rest, stay like this until I've woken up" he ordered

"Hai"

Mitsunari laid his head on my chest as he fell asleep I spread my arms around me being helpless

I sighed knowing it was futile to fight against mistunari I watched over him as he slept he looked so peaceful sleeping

"Hideyoshi sama......hanbei sama" mistunari muttered

'He must be dreaming'

Poor mistunari he was a broken man who had lost everything to his friend now his rival ieyasu who he swore to kill, how can you kill your former friend and companion? how will you do that mistunari? will you even have the heart to strike him down? and once you've achieved your revenge what will happen after mistunari? Can I shed some light on your dark heart? and make everything okay I don't know if I can

I laid my hands on his hair that was now damp

"Oh mistunari" I whispered

Time skip 3 months later....

After that day me and mistunari's relationship grew a bit to the point that I once saw a smile on his face when we talked I was happy with mistunari even though he would probably never think of me as more than just a companion on his journey but I was okay with that, I made a vow to protect mistunari and I would keep him healthy and strong and that he would never be weak as long as I was at his side

But then one day it all ended so soon I wanted to be with mistunari forever but fate had other plans it wanted us to go out separate ways

It was in a battle with date masamune and mistunari, mitsunari told me to stay back and that it would be over soon and that we could go back to Osaka after he had cut masamune and katakura down but the tables turned masamune was winning this fight and mitsunari was going to die

Mitsunari was badly injured he was wounded in his side and bleeding badly he could barely stand

Masamune walked over to mitsunari to deliver the final blow

"DEATH FANG!!!"

"Mitsunari no!!"

I pushed mistunari out of the way and masamune's attack struck me

"Ah!!"

I fell back my body laid on ground I was bleeding out quickly, I weakly glanced at date

Masamune just stood there paralyzed his eyes widened as he slowly realized what he had done he had my blood on his swords innocent blood staining his swords that would only pierce and kill the wicked but not the innocent

"Masamune sama we must leave this place soon ishida's army will surround this place you can't do anything for her we must go" kojuro said

Masamune looked at kojuro then at me and whispered "I'm sorry"

Kojuro grabbed masamune and dragged him to his horse they both soon left the land

I turned my head to look at mistunari who had been in a state of shock when it happened he was laying on the ground

"Yui!!" Mistunari exclaimed

He got up and and rushed weakly trying to be at my side, but he was so far away I had been pushed to the other side of the battlefield due to masamune's blow

He tripped and fell he held his side as it bled through his armor

"Yui!!!"

He groaned as he crawled towards me, but he was battling between staying Conscience and unconsciousness

"Mitsunari" I called as I reached out to him

"Yui!!!" He screamed as he desperately tried to meet me

Tears fell from my eyes as my vision blurred "Mistunari....I"

"Yui!! No!!"

"I....LOVE....YOU"

My vision darkened my body felt heavy I accepted death as it opened his arms and carried my soul away

I heard one last thing before I died and it was my name being screamed out in agony and despair

"YUI!!!!!!"

Time skip 24 hours later.....

Mistunari's POV

"Yui....yui...YUI!!"

I woke up panting heavily

'Was it a nightmare?'

I tried getting up I winced and groaned I felt my side I looked at it and it was bandaged

"No it can't be!! it wasn't a nightmare!!"

I got up groaning I used the walls as leverage to keep myself up

"Yui...yui...yui" I called out weakly

"Mistunari sama what are you doing out of bed?! you're still hurt" a soldier said

I grabbed the soldier "where's yui?" I asked

"Mistunari sama miss yui is...."

"Where is she?" I asked getting irritated

"She's in her room sir" the soldier answered

"Take me to her....Now!!" I ordered

"Yes sir!"

The soldier helped walked down the hallway to yui's room

I opened the sliding door and saw her I saw yui laying in the futon her hair was spread out it looked like she was sleeping I sighed in relief

"Yui"

I walked toward her and kneeled right next to her

I smiled "Yui you're alright I'm glad"

I grabbed her hand "you're so cold are you alright?"

I shook her "hey yui wake up"

She didn't respond

I panicked and quickly felt her pulse

My eyes widened as I dropped her hand "no you can't be....dead"

I grabbed her and pulled her body towards mine I held her tightly as her head rested on my heart

I looked at her and saw her face completely drained of color her face was pale and her lips were no longer pink but a pale purple color her eyelids were a shade of light purple

At that point yoshitsugu entered the room

"Yoshitsugu help me yui isn't moving!" I said

"Mistunari haven't you already noticed that yui is dead or are you refusing to accept it?" He asked

"No she isn't dead! she can't be dead!" I stated

"During your battle with the one eyed dragon of Oshu our army found you and Yui, Yui was found dead due to blood loss, you however you had passed out. I don't know what happened there but don't worry I'll have a grave prepared for her to be buried in" yoshitsugu said

"No! You're not taking her away from me" I yelled

"She's not dead" I cried softly

"If that's what you believe fine mistunari but remember you'll have to realize that she really is gone and if you don't let her go she'll rot in your arms" yoshitsugu said

With that yoshitsugu left the room I held Yui tightly in my arms

"My Yui...yui don't leave me come back, you promised you wouldn't" I begged

{Flashback}

"I won't regret anything mistunari I won't regret the choices I've made in my life I promise I'll stay by your side until the end" Yui said

I looked at her and huffed "what a strange woman do as you please"

She smiled happily

{Flashback over present time}

"Yui....my beloved Yui you were such a foolish girl"

I swore that for a moment I heard her voice

"I LOVE....YOU"

I held her tightly as tears fell from my eyes "I loved you as well"

Time skip 24 hours later...

Yoshitsugu's POV

2days had passed since Yui died and mistunari had refused to believed she was dead instead he insisted she was sleeping and that she would wake up soon

"Where's mitsunari?" I asked a soldier

"He's in miss yui's room like always he hasn't left since yesterday he refuses to eat and refuses to sleep he often talks to her as if she's not really dead he talks about when she wakes up he'll marry her once the war is over my lord I'm afraid mistunari has gone mad"the soldier said

"I will deal with this please have a grave prepared for today we will be burying Yui tonight" I said

I went to Yui's room where mistunari had stayed in the exact position as he was yesterday

"Mistunari" I called

"Yes yoshitsugu what is it?"

"I have a task for you it involves going to kingo's land and asking for an alliance"

"I won't go if Yui wakes up by then I won't be here to see her" he said

"Yui is dead!! She's not coming back look at her mistunari her body is bloated it's starting to decompose" I said

Mistunari looked at her body it was slightly swollen

"Mistunari it's time to say goodbye and let her rest in peace" I suggested

"But I can't because this was my fault I couldn't protect Yui I couldn't protect her and she protected me and now she's gone" he said

"Mistunari you have to let her go she's not going to wake up" I said

"I know she won't"

Mistunari held Yui in his arms he kissed her hand and his kiss trailed upwards to her cold dead lips once he pulled away from her, mitsunari placed his for head on hers

"I love you" he muttered

Mistunari let her body go and he placed her on the futon

I called soldiers to take her away one of the soldiers grabbed Yui bridal style

Mistunari got up and walked away

"My Lord where will we bury miss Yui's body?"

"Bury it near the cherry blossom tree outside the castle" I ordered

"Yes sir"

A few hours later...

The soldiers came back after burying her body I went looking for mistunari he had his armor on ready to leave for kingo's land

"You're leaving already?" I asked

"The faster I get there the better right?" Mistunari asked

"Yes I suppose so I was informed that they finished burying Yui she's buried underneath the cherry blossom tree outside the castle" I informed mistunari

"........"

"Here this was the only thing I could get from her" I handed him a green ribbon

Mistunari took it "Yui" his voice broke

"Let me do something with it"

I took the ribbon and tied tied it to the handle of mitsunari's sword

"So she'll always be with you in some way" I said

Mistunari looked at me with hatred in his eyes

"Don't worry once I've made an alliance with Kingo I'm going after that bastard that killed her"

"Everything will be said and done at Sekigahara"
