Masamune's POV

Today I expected to meet the eligible candidates to become my wife. 3 clans from the neighboring regions offered their most beautiful and beloved women to me in order to provide an alliance with whichever region my wife belonged to. It already turned afternoon and I just finished training, so I decided to nap in my room till katakura decided to bother me.

"My lord masamune why are you still in bed?" Kojuro asked.

I groaned. "I'm tired kojuro....I don't even know what type of women I'm gonna meet today."

Kojuro laughed. "My lord masamune, you don't mean to tell me that women scare you?"

I panicked. "Hey what are you taking about? Girls are always throwing themselves at me when we go scouting!!!"

"Those are mostly old women and children who are constantly begging you to help their husbands and father's who are in prisons, not because they want to marry you." Kojuro slyly added.

I glared. "Shut up Kojuro."

Kojuro chuckled lightly. "Of course my Lord, won't you get dressed so that you may greet the ladies when they come."

"Fine." I said.

I started taking my clothes off when suddenly someone entered the room. It was one of my retainers Sosuke.

"Big boss!! Master katakura, the princesses have arrived." Souske announced.

"Invite our guest to the main hall we shall receive them shortly." Kojuro requested.

Sosuke nodded and left.

"My lord masamune please get dressed quickly." Kojuro reminded.

"Yes, I'm almost done relax Kojuro no need to get so anxious."

Kojuro left the room to greet the princesses. I finished getting dressed and soon went to greet my possible future wife. I entered the main hall to find that there was many servants and and the girls were covered in white veils.

"Masamune Dono here are the princesses awaiting to meet you." Kojuro announced.

The servants of the princesses stood behind their princess and held the veil so when they were announced the veil would be removed.

"Princess himemiko from the southern region." Kojuro presented.

The veil was taken off and the girl stood up.

"It's an honor to meet you one eyed dragon, I would appreciate it greatly if I could get to know you better."

I looked at the girl she couldn't be more than 15 years old.

'She's rather young to become my wife, however she's quite cute.'

She sat back down and kojuro announced the next girl.

"Princess Kazuma of the eastern region."

The veil was taken of the second girl and she stood up.

"Greetings my lord date Masamune, it is a high honor to finally be acquainted with you, I wish for nothing but the best for our clans, please let's get to know each other."

'She's kinda serious and a bit too polite what kind of family raised this girl?! She's so high mannered. It's gonna be difficult to be myself around her.'

"Princess Asuka of the western region." Kojuro announced.

However the spot where the princess was supposed to be was empty and there was no servants around to represent.

Suddenly.....

A ninja arrived he had reddish hair a very well known ninja.

"Goemon ishikawa my lord date, I've come to deliver a message from Princess Asuka." He detailed.

"What's the meaning of this disrespect towards the head of the date clan?!" Kojuro exclaimed.

"Apologies Master Katakura, due to the passing of lord Ichigo of Kyushu, Princess Asuka shall be arriving later today during the evening, she sends her regrets to the lord for not being here as expected." The ninja announced.

"Lord Ichigo is dead?!" Everyone gasped.

The ninja nodded. "Yes quite the unexpected tragedy, he went to sleep and never woke up, her highness had to make preparations to lay her father to rest thus explaining her current absence." He explained.

"How did lord Ichigo died? Everyone knows he's noble warrior who could not be defeated." I asked.

"An illness fell upon my lord suddenly, he kept it a secret from my lady however, his body could no longer take it and he perished during the night, please forgive my princess Asuka for this disrespect." He bowed.

I looked at kojuro and nodded. "I will forgive this from your princess ninja however, your princess better arrive before the sun sets."

The ninja nodded. "Of course my lord, she'll be here as expected."

"Well then, you may leave ninja." Kojuro responded.

Suddenly the ninja disappeared.

"My lord masamune it would be the most polite action to ask the princesses to dinner." Kojuro whispered.

I blushed suddenly. "Of course kojuro, ahem...princesses would you be kind enough to accompany me for dinner tonight?"

"Yes my lord." Princess himemiko and princess Kazuma responded.

"Kojuro have the servants escort them and show them to their rooms where they'll be staying." I ordered.

Kojuro nodded and summoned the servants to escort the princesses once we were alone I asked kojuro about princess Asuka.

"Kojuro since lord Ichigo is dead does that mean his son will succeed?" I asked.

"Lord Ichigo has a son named Takuma, he's the oldest I assume that he will be the successor.."

"I can't believe that old man is dead he was always so amazingly passionate about life." I stated.

"Yes sir, your father knew him well, we must pay our respects when the Princess arrives." He requested.

"My lord masamune it would be best if you took a bath and started getting ready for dinner." He suggested.

"Fine, I got nothing better to do." I said.

I got up and started walking towards the bath.

Meanwhile....

Asuka's POV

I was on the carriage on the way to Oshu when my family's ninja goemon arrived.

"My lady I have sent your message to the lord of Oshu. He has forgiven you, may you rest easy on your journey to Oshu."

"Thank you goemon it is appreciated greatly.....stay by my side until we arrive, alright goemon."

He smiled. "Of course my lady it is my duty to protect you and your family until the end."

I smiled. "Thank you."

Time skip arriving at Oshu.......

"Goemon tell master katakura that I have arrived."

"Yes, my Princess Asuka."

Goemon left, meanwhile the servants helped me down the carriage I placed a veil over my face and used a fan to cover myself to make sure no one saw my face till I met Lord Date.

Soon goemon returned to me with master katakura.

"Princess Asuka it's an honor to finally meet you." Master katakura stated.

"Yes it's an honor to meet you as well, I apologize for my tardiness."

"It's alright Princess, our deepest condolences for the loss of lord Ichigo." He bowed.

"Yes it was a tragic loss, my father wanted to see the one eyed dragon one more time, he thought he could see him again through this meeting, but alas he is no longer with us may he rest in peace, dear father of mine." I stated regretfully.

"Princess Asuka you've made it just in time for dinner my lord masamune is with the princesses of the other regions right now conversing with them please join us..."

"Apologies master katakura but I do not wish to eat right now, I've had a long day surely you must understand my mourning and my pain, I will meet Lord Date tomorrow if that is alright?" I asked.

"Y-yes Princess Asuka, it must be hard for you right now, I will inform Lord Date of your decision, he will understand your mourning, I'm sure there will be no problem." He said.

"Thank you master katakura good night."

"Yes Princess Asuka, I'll have the servants escort you to your room." He said.

The servants surrounded me. "Come now goemon, let's go." I ordered.

"Yes Princess, as you wish."

Goemon followed the servants as they led me to my room I took of the veil and put the fan away, went to sleep goemon kept watch and made sure nothing happened.

Kojuro's POV

I went back to the dining hall where my lord was waiting.

"Kojuro so Princess Asuka is here?" He asked.

"Yes my Lord, she's here."

"So where is the girl, we all want to meet her?" He asked all the soldiers cheered in unison.

"Umm I'm afraid that Princess Asuka won't be joining us for dinner tonight." I announced.

Gasps could be heard around the hall. Lord masamune's eyebrow twitched. "What are you saying kojuro? You said she would be here!" He exclaimed.

"Yes, but it's been a long day for the Princess and she wishes to be left alone, she promised to meet you tomorrow." I tried to reason.

My Lord was furious he had never been this worked up over a woman, yes arranging a marriage was annoying to him but having to wait for someone was never his motto. He hated waiting, Lord Masamune was always so impatient.

I grabbed my Lord's arm and took him out of the dining room. "My lord masamune I know you're upset about the circumstances, but you're scaring the other princesses thus it would ruin your reputation with the other regions if you keep this foolishness going." I scolded.

Masamune looked away calming down. "Hmph, that girl better keep her word or else I'm going to kick her out of Oshu myself."

I sighed. "Yes my Lord Masamune I will make arrangements for her to see you early in the morning."

The princesses and my Lord Masamune ate dinner he told them stories and the princesses did too. The princesses soon retired to their assigned rooms. Masamune and I walked through the hallways of the estate.

"Hey kojuro that girl, princess Asuka, have you met her already?" He asked.

"Y-Yes Masamune sama however, I haven't seen what she looks like..."

Masamune chuckled. "I hope she doesn't look like her old man."

"Masamune sama that's so rude of you!!" I scolded.

Masamune shrugged. "I'm just teasing kojuro, have a little sense of humor for once..."

I shook my head. "Anyways as I said before I shall arrange you to meet Princess Asuka in the morning."

"Very well, hopefully this time the girl takes her duties seriously..." He glared.

I nodded. "Sleep well Masamune you have a trifling day tomorrow ahead of you."

Masamune scoffed. "Yes, it seems so."

Time skip next morning

Asuka's POV

"My lady Asuka please wake up, you must get ready for your appearance before lord Date..."

"Goemon it's too early the sun hasn't even risen all the way up."

"I know hime sama but in order to prepare for your appearance you must wake up early, since you didn't show up to meet him when you arrive you'll have to wear your family's traditional attire." He explained.

"No! That's too much glamour." I complained.

"I apologize my lady, but you'll stain the name of your family if you don't appear properly before any Lord." He stated.

I whined loudly. "Ugh I don't want to goemon!"

Goemon called the female servants and gave them the attire I was to wear. "I'll be wandering around Oshu for a bit my lady, if you're troubled you know what to do." Goemon advised.

I nodded, and so my suffering of being dressed up began.

*~~~~Hours passing*

Kojuro's POV

I woke up Masamune sama suggesting that he wears formal attire in order to meet Princess Asuka.

"I will not be putting that again!" He complained.

"But Masamune sama even so she is a princess she'll surely be expecting you to wear formal traditional attire." I fought.

"Doesn't matter I will not be wearing that kojuro and its final, I'll be wearing my armor after this meeting I'm arranging a war council to see what we should conquer next." He said

I nodded knowing that it was futal to argue with him. Once he had put in his armor he went to the main hall to wait for the princess. Minutes passed since she was summoned and he was getting impatient, luckily the princesses were on the other side of the estate keeping each other company outside in the courtyard so they wouldn't be exposed to the rage of Masamune.

"Kojuro." He growled.

"Y-Yes Masamune sama?"

"Where is she?!" He snapped.

"I'm sure she's on her way here." I tried to convince.

"FUCK THAT I'm getting that spoiled brat myself!!" He yelled.

In a blink of an eye Masamune was gone and walking swiftly through the halls of the estate.

I ran after him. "Masamune sama please don't do anything rash!! Please come back to the main hall and wait a bit longer!!"

"I refuse to go back and wait I'm gonna find that girl and kick her out of Oshu myself!" He shouted.

He swiftly made it towards the room where princess Asuka was staying, I grabbed his arm in order to stop him.

"Masamune sama please reconsider the consequences do you want the west plain region as our enemy if you disrespect their princess?" I begged.

"I'll just conquer the west!" He shouted.

He broke free of my grip and went to the room and forcefully opened the sliding door.

Masamune and myself were frozen in what our eyes were witnessing. We were speechless.

"My my, is this how the head of the Date clan greets a princess? I apologize for taking so long....after all first impressions are a priority in my family that includes my attire even though it seems to be a bit much. However, I feel that from your expression, Lord Date you are not pleased with my behavior, due to the unfortunate events that have happened It has been difficult for me to resume my duties as princess but I still arrived as I promised my father before his sudden death. I have done what my father had asked of me with meeting the lord of Oshu, and now I believe I should be heading back." Her sweet voice echoed.

Masamune sama just continued to stare at the princess. I knew that look he was speechless, just as I was...to see such beauty in front of us..it was so overwhelming.

She suddenly stood up. "I did not mean for these events to transpire like this Lord Date I apologize for this disrespect, but I will be taking my leave by nightfall if you wish it so, please excuse me."  Her pouting face could almost break my heart..her eyes shining like stars. She opened the sliding door behind her. She looked at us with a soft smile.

"It was nice meeting for the first time Dokugan ryu, Date Masamune sama....and a pleasure to meet his right eye, Katakura San."

She walked out of the room leaving Masamune and I with eyes wide open.

Asuka's POV

'I did my job, father told me he wanted me to meet the one eyed dragon and I have done as he asked. He certainly is an interesting man, he came barging right in like a maniac, he doesn't understand....I lost my father, my mother and now all I have left is my brother and father wanted to send me here for what?! I'll never find out...my brother Takuma forced me to come here and on the way I find out its for some marriage game! Takuma I won't forgive you...you didn't even let me see father before he died...'

I was so busy rambling in my head I had managed to leave the estate and made it halfway towards the town.

"My lady Asuka I assume things with the one eyed dragon did not go well?" A familiar voice said.

I looked up and sitting in a tree branch was goemon. I shook my head. "I don't know how it went, I left before he could speak..."

"Your brother will surely be disappointed or angry at you if he hears about your sudden departure and rudeness." He teased.

"Takuma won't be I'll just tell him I had a bit of competition in winning him over... I want to go to the town goemon stay out of my sight I don't want you scaring the villagers." I ordered.

"How heartless my lady, but very well, take this you should at least have some money with you." He said.

He dropped a pouch full of coins. "Thanks I forgot to bring some with me."

I managed to get to the town it was quite crowded, many turned around to look at me I was still wearing my traditional attire. Luckily for me my attire wasn't that long and it didn't provide me with trouble.

I was walking around when I felt something hit my leg, I looked down and saw that it was ball. I glanced around and some children played.

I grabbed the ball and crouched down to give it to the child. He came over and grabbed the ball from me.

"Arigato onee chan."

I smiled. "You're welcome little one."

"Hey onee chan are you a princess?" A little girl asked.

I giggled. "What makes you say that?"

"Because you have pretty hairpin mom says that girls with nice hair pins are royalty." The little girl answered.

"Oh is that so? Do you like it? Then you can have it."

I took of my hair pin and have it to the little girl, I placed it on her hair.

"There now you are also royalty." I smiled.

"Waaah thank you so much hime sama!!" The little girl exclaimed.

"Little girl, tell me where can I get something good to eat? I haven't eaten breakfast you see." I asked.

The little girl nodded. "There's a tea house nearby it makes really good dumplings hime sama."

"Alright then I'll go there, don't lose that hair pin alright it's very important to me."

The little girl nodded. "Hai hime sama."

"See you later little ones."

"Bye bye hime sama!" The children shouted.

I said goodbye and made my way to the tea house the girl said. In an alley of a store I heard my familiar ninja's voice.

"Princess Asuka that's quite the gift you gave the girl your own family's hair pin." Goemon said.

"I have no need of it, I own many more hair pins you see." I responded.

Goemon laughed. "Of course you do princess."

I went to the tea house and sat down.

"Good morning, how may I be of service to you today? You don't seem from around here." A young man asked blushing at my arrival.

"Umm yes, I am visiting your lord but I decided to take a tour of the town. A young girl said I should come here so I'll have green tea and some pork dumplings." I ordered.

"Coming right up!" The young man responded.

Meanwhile...with date Masamune and kojuro.

"Kojuro send out some soldiers to find her!" Masamune shouted.

"My Lord I would but none of the soldiers know what princess Asuka looks like besides us." He explained.

"Damn it fine, then I'll search for her." Masamune resolved.

Kojuro shook his head and grabbed his arm before he could leave." My Lord I'd advise you not to go looking for her you have 2 other princesses here in the estate who wish to spend time with you."

"I don't care I'm going to find that princess, I know Oshu like the back of my palm so it'll be easy to find her." Masamune boasted.

Kojuro sighed letting his arm go. "Yes my Lord Masamune then I'll stay here with the princesses."

"Thanks Kojuro."

Masamune's POV

I quickly set out to look for princess Asuka by myself...I went into the town and walked through the area, I saw some children playing around happily.

"My Lord play with us please!!" The children called.

"I'm sorry kids I can't right now but on a later day okay?....huh?"

I saw that one of the children had a beautiful hairpin, the same way princess Asuka was wearing so I approached the child and knelt down before her. "Who gave you that hairpin little girl?" I asked.

"A pretty princess gave it to me my Lord." She answered happily.

"I see do you know where the pretty princess went I'm trying to find her you see?" I explained.

The girl nodded. "The princess said she was hungry so she asked me where she could eat so I told her to go to the tea house."

I nodded. "I see thanks girly, see you kids later."

I stood up and started rushing over to the tea house I know the girl was talking about. I had made it there quickly and entered but didn't see Asuka hime.

"Oh my Lord Masamune!! What brings you here?!" The owner asked.

"I'm looking for a princess, I need to speak with her but it seems she's gotten away from me." I answered.

"Oh Yunsuke said he saw a pretty girl come here who didn't seem to be from around here." The owner added.

"Do you know where she went? I'm a bit pressed for time here." I pressured.

"Yunsuke where did the pretty girl go?! Lord Masamune wishes to know!!" The owner shouted.

"Umm after she ate she said she wanted to see some cherry blossoms so I told her she could go to the hillside." Yunsuke stressed.

"Thanks gentlemen see you on another day." I stated.

I exited the tea shop and made it towards the hillside I knew the place he was talking about, it was where Kojuro and I used to hang out when the springtime was coming. Which it was soon approaching as winter left the country.

I ran up the hillside and looked for the cherry blossom tree nearby once I found it...I approached it and saw from a distance, that my runaway princess slept under the tree of the blossoming cherry tree.

I chuckled and shook my head. "You're far too trusting and bold princess..."

When I got closer a shiruken was thrown at my feet. I gazed up at the tree and saw the ninja that served princess Asuka.

"She's actually very well guarded which does allow her some irresponsibility for her surroundings, now then, that's close enough Lord Masamune....please do not disturb hime-sama's rest."

"Your princess has quite some nerve to depart from me like that." I glared.

"Watch your tongue towards princess Asuka, she is one of the strongest women I have served and one of the few who achieved the opportunity to face Nobunaga Oda and live to come back....this little marriage game her brother entangled her is below my princess's honor" Her ninja stated.

My eyes widened. "She fought Oda Nobunaga...."

"My lady Asuka fought bravely and valiantly against him, she wanted revenge for the death of her mother and almost succeeded in claiming his head."

"...Then what happened, she was unable to kill him?" I asked.

"His wife Nohime interfered in the fight, letting Nobunaga escape..."

"And what happened to Lady Nohime and Asuka?" I wondered.

"I know not of what was the outcome of their battle but both managed to escape, my lady however doesn't speak of the subject at all, she told me that she stole what Nohime sama desperately wanted..." The ninja answered.

"One eyed dragon, Date Masamune please understand that the Oda took my lady's mother away and illness took her father... now my lady is aimless and lost, her father wished for her to meet you before he died however, marriage was not something he discussed, her older brother successor to the clan debated this and sent her here along with the other princesses who wish to become your wife, my princess is heartbroken and grief stricken that's why she acts so rebellious...her brother will understand if you do not wish to marry her but while she stays in Oshu do not make her sad." Her ninja explained.

I stayed quiet unable to answer him. "....."

Suddenly the ninja looked back to his lady who had just awakened from her slumber.

"....Goemon what are you doing?" She sleepily asked rubbing her eyes.

"My my hime-sama that was quite a nap you took, honestly leaving yourself so defenseless creates a hassle even for me. You're not some child who is overcome by sleep after eating a meal, you know better princess." Her ninja teased.

She glared at him."Goemon your occupation is my shinobi, your job is to protect me no matter what the circumstance may lead."

He sighed annoyed by her response. "Of course my lady."

She looked at her surroundings and saw me. "Dokungan ryu why are you here? You have other things to attend to besides my whereabouts."

"You ran away from my presence so quickly I was not able to introduce myself properly and welcome you to Oshu...I apologize for my behavior I'm not used to having to be so patient for a woman at times." I stated.

"I caused trouble for you again didn't I? I'm sorry." She sadly apologized.

"Ehh no you didn't cause trouble for me, to be honest I was anxious and curious to meet the woman who made me so impatient. I want to learn more about you." I reasoned.

She blushed and looked away. "I apologize if I made you upset, what is it that you wish to know about me My Lord?"

I walked up to her, knelt down in front of her and grabbed her hand. It was warm and delicate her hands so small compared to mine. However from what her ninja had previously accounted they were once stained with blood, but how can a woman as beautiful as her be forced to fight the devil king and his wife?

"I want to know the things you like, the things you don't like, what your beliefs are and values, I want to know who is Asuka Hime." I whispered kissing her hand softly.

Asuka nodded." Alright then my Lord, I'll indulge your curiosity while I'm in your lands."

I grabbed her hand and pulled her up with me and wrapped her arm around mine. "If you wish I shall give you a tour around Oshu if you want and we may be able to speak of our stories then."

She paused but later nodded. "Okay, Goemon you can take a break. Lord Masamune and I are gonna be around town alright."

Her ninja bowed. "Yes my princess, please be safe when adventuring the region."

Her ninja disappeared leaving princess Asuka and myself alone.

"Now then one eyed dragon where are we gonna start our tour?" She asked.

"To places only a princess could honor herself to go." I answered.

I brought the princess back to town with me and suddenly greeted by Kojuro who was frantically searching for us.

"Masamune sama, Masamune sama!!" He exclaimed.

"What's wrong Kojuro?" I asked.

"You must not worry me like that! You have been gone for some time and so I decided to look for you. I was worried for both your whereabouts." He scolded.

I heard small giggles behind me and it soon started to grow a bit louder into laughter.

"Hahahahah...I guess one would say that Kojuro is like a mom to you Masamune sama." Asuka giggled covering her face with the sleeve of her dress.

"Oi it's not like that!!" I blushed.

I grabbed her hand and propped her on my horse. "Princess I apologize I'll take you back to the estate we can all tour the country as a group with the other princesses if you wish another day."

I took the princess back to the estate where the other princesses waited.

"My lord masamune you had us worried!!" The princesses shouted.

"I apologize for making all of you worry however I am back from going into the town...I'll have the servants prepare you for lunch later." I announced.

Asuka got down from the horse and walked over to the group of princesses. They greeted her and was taken inside with the other girls. The servants took them away to prepare them for later.

Asuka's POV

The servants took us to a private bath where they had us princesses use scented oils on our skin and our hair.

"Princess Asuka we send out our condolences for your loss." Princess himemiko stated.

"It's quite alright....thank you."

"Asuka hime are you planning to marry the lord date like us since the passing of your father? Are you well enough to make these decisions?" Princess kazuma asked.

"I don't really know if I want to marry...all my father wanted was for me too meet lord date that was his wish I knew nothing of any intentions of marriage he had, my brother was the one who arranged it to be as a wedding proposition."

"You have such pretty long hair princess Asuka, I envy it."
Princess himemiko whined.

"Having it shorter would be better, it's a hassle to take care of."

"Princess Asuka it might be a bit inappropriate but your chest is quite impressive as well..." Princess kazuma pointed out.

I covered myself blushing. "It's not that impressive..."

"Waaaaahhh I'm still very small" princess himemiko cried.

"Huh? It's okay you're perfect just the way you are." I smiled

Meanwhile Masamune's POV

I was walking around the estate when I saw many of my retainers gathered in one area. I approached them, all of them on top of one another trying to peek at a wall.

"What are you men doing?"

They all jumped scared. "Big boss?! We were just talking about what we are going to do for our next campaign?"

"Really now? It appears that you all are trying to peek at the wall leading to the private bath the princesses are in." I glared.

"No sir we weren't doing...."

"Get out of the area immediately, it's disgraceful..." I scowled.

"YES BOSS!!"

Soon they all scattered away leaving me alone in the hall. I couldn't help but listen in the conversation the princesses were having.

"No fair Princess Asuka your bust is 3 times as big as mine!"

"Eeehhh?! Don't say things like that it makes me insecure.."

I blushed they were talking about their breast sizes and I couldn't help but imagine what each looked like....

'NO MASAMUNE SELF CONTROL....'

"If you get pregnant they'll get even bigger Princess Asuka..."

"WHAT?! THEN MY CLOTHES WON'T FIT ME ANYMORE AND I'LL POP OUT."

My head started to spin. 'They'll get even bigger?! God I'm such a pervert!!! I haven't even decided who I'm gonna marry yet!!'

I swiftly exited the area and went to change clothes for lunch. I clutched my face to hide the heat that had suddenly shown up from the conversation I overheard. I met the princesses in the dining room where they all bowed respectfully and awaited the servants to bring the meal out.

"All of you look lovely this evening." I complimented.

They all smiled and nodded.

"Well then let's start eating itadakimasu!" I stated.

The princesses followed and started eating as well. "Is the meal towards your liking princesses?" Kojuro asked.

"It's delicious thank you." They all agreed.

I saw princess Asuka stop eating and place her bowl down.

"What's wrong princess?" I worried.

She sighed. "Lord date I wish not to be rude but when would I be allowed to leave and return home? My father wished for us to meet and I intended to do so. I know you planned for us to tour the region but I'm sure that can wait for another visit, hopefully after you've chosen a wife."

The other two princesses gasped and I grimaced. "Is that the only reason princess Asuka?"

She narrowed her eyes at me. "My father wished that we meet that was all, I was not aware that I was involving myself in a marriage game with other princesses, I have no plans for marriage right now as you are aware my brother is potentially next in line for the clan head and I, his sister must be present when our family decides to make the choice regarding my position and duty as princess."

Kojuro looked at me. "I'll consider it give me tonight I'll give you my answer tomorrow."

She nodded. "Thank you."

Asuka resumed eating and the entire time she was silent while the other princesses started conversations. When nighttime fell, the princesses were escorted to their rooms. While Kojuro and I wandered around the courtyard.

"Princess Asuka seems like a fiery spirit standing up to you like that lord masamune." Kojuro stated with a hint of sass in his voice.

I sighed and held my forehead. "She's very headstrong and quite demanding she's quite the storm to give me a headache and some hard times."

"So will you honor her wish masamune?" He gazed.

"There's somethings I still want to find out about her I spent enough time with other princesses to know their values and beliefs well enough....hey kojuro did you know that Asuka hime fought the devil king and his wife Nohime?"

Kojuro looked at me shock." The princess did what?!"

I smirked. "Seems this princess got some guts to fight face to face with the main threat to our lands and leave unscathed."

Kojuro grimaced." Why would they allow her to live? She fought them both."

I pondered. "Her ninja told me that nobunaga slipped away when he placed his wife to fight her and lady nohime was rather unlucky."

"Meaning what?" Kojuro asked.

"Her ninja said Asuka took what nohime wanted the most...I can't figure out what that means but I'm sure it could've been an injury."

Kojuro and I walked around the estate the princesses should've been asleep when we entered the courtyard. We could hear the sounds of what could've been a fight. Kojuro and I secretly investigated not to alert a potential intruder.

"Come now lady Asuka, your form isn't correct." A voice scolded.

We saw princess Asuka and her ninja in the courtyard.

"Hime-Sama are you sure this is the right decision you want to do?" Her ninja asked.

"Yes Goemon, now you have to help me prepare or else it's not going to be able to happen." She whispered.

"Challenging your brother to a duel in order to become head of the family is not the greatest idea." He advised.

"I will not allow him to marry me off when my father had no plan for that. I fulfilled his wishes and met the One Eyed Dragon may he be happy with whatever princess he wishes to marry except me." She glared.

Her ninja sighed. "Alright princess if this is your wish then I will assist you prepare for the challenge."

'Challenge? What are they talking about?'

I looked at kojuro as he and I agreed to keep observing. Princess Asuka took off her large ceremonial robe revealing what would be combat gear.

Her ninja and her prepared to fight."Princess I know I can't strike your face but it doesn't mean your brother won't choose to either." He teased.

"I know Goemon, now let's start."

The fight began and the two fought each other. Using their palms and fists in a different fight style unknown to me or kojuro. Asuka used her legs to strike her shinobi, his hands blocking the blows and elbowing her thigh causing her to cry out. She hit his chest in order to push him back once she managed to do that she blocked his blows but left herself open causing the skilled ninja to kick her abdomen sending her back to the floor.

"Ugh!"

"Nice try princess but it's not enough to beat your brother in combat. I'll praise you for being highly skilled with weapons, however this challenge requires strength and skill,  your brother will not take it easy on you and you'll lose at this rate if you can't even defeat me." He explained.

Asuka sat up and her hands gripped the ground. "It's not fair....he's really gone, this fate is not fair."

Her ninja grabbed her robe that laid on the ground. "Princess Asuka, your father truly loved you more than anything, he only wanted the best for you, I know that he didn't mean for this fate for you but at least honor his wish and properly get to know Lord Date there must be something he's seen in him to order you to meet him."

The shinobi grabbed the princess and helped her stand up. "Now let's get you some rest you have one more day left and I will be with you no matter what happens princess."

She nodded. "Thank you Goemon"

He helped her up and they both disappeared inside. "Seems like princess Asuka has a lot going on." Kojuro stated.

"Yeah she's really going through a rough time right now." I added.

We both went inside and slept. In my mind I had made a plan for princess Asuka and I for tomorrow.

Princess Asuka's POV

After Goemon and I sparred yesterday I started feeling more desperate and restless. I wanted to leave and go home already, I longed to be back with my people and everyone I cared about. The other princesses were nice to me and we got along but I am honestly not interested in marrying right now so me being here is ruining the chances for the other girls.

Goemon woke me up early and had the servants start dressing me and getting me ready for breakfast. The princesses and Lord Date ate together his right eye Katakura San was also having breakfast with us.

"Princesses I know it's been an eventful few days but hopefully you have enjoyed your time here in Oshu." Katakura San announced.

We all nodded in agreement Oshu was a beautiful place and with great people any of the princesses would be lucky to be a part of this.

"Princess Asuka..." Lord masamune called.

"Yes my Lord?"

"After breakfast I wish to take you on that tour of Oshu I promised you, we will take my horse and be on our way to show you my lands."

"My lord Masamune would you also bring along the other princesses?" His right eye asked.

"I believe I have spent enough time with princess Himemiko and princess Kazuma, princess Asuka was late to the party so I believe I should spend some time with her before she has to go." He explained.

"Hai."

"Alright then princess Asuka start getting ready and you don't need formal attire something short and easy to walk in should do." He persuaded.

I finished eating and was escorted by servants to my room where they started choosing my outfit.

"Going out with Lord Masamune?" Goemon chimed in barging into the room.

"It's my last day in Oshu Goemon, I believe I at least owe that to him." I reasoned.

"Got it make sure there's no bad blood last thing your clan needs is another enemy." He warned.

"Yes Goemon, now please turn around  I have to be changed."

He went to another room allowing the women to help me get into my outfit. It was a short dress with long sleeves. As usually my every garment from my family is very luxurious. I sighed wishing I had less expensive outfits.

"Princess Asuka, I wonder how your tour of Oshu will go?" His voice snickered.

I quickly looked back seeing my shinobi Goemon."You need to stop being soo annoying at times." I snapped.

"As feisty as ever my princess, do you wish for me to accompany you during the tour?"

I shook my head. "No, I will be okay on my own I can fight well enough."

"Sure you can my princess, however please take this with you."

Goemon had small knife in his hand that was sheathed. "You're skilled enough to handle a weapon so if anything should happen between you and lord date that you do not consent to, you will be able to strike him."

I nodded and took the knife from his hand and placed inbetween my breast the dress holding it hidden. A servant entered the room escorting me outside towards the stables.

Lord Masamune waited for me as he leaned on the fence of the stables. He was wearing his armor for some reason maybe in case something happened he would be prepared. "Alright princess, are you ready?"

I nodded. "Hai."

He took my hand and helped me up onto his horse. "Hold on tight princess. I'm not gonna take it slow for you."

He took me around his region showing me the many rivers, farmland and villages in his command. We stopped at the village I visited when I arrived.

"Let's go get something to eat it's about lunch time right now." Lord masamune mentioned.

I nodded and followed him to the shop where I had dined in previously. Inside there were many villagers dining all of them stopped and stared as their lord and I entered the shop.

"Lord masamune you're back again and brought one of the princesses with you, what an honor." The shop owner praised.

"Yeah it's about lunchtime and princess Asuka and I would like to eat before we continue touring Oshu." Masamune explained.

We both sat down as we waited for our food to be cooked. A familiar young girl entered the shop along with her mother wearing the a similar headpiece I had. She glanced over at us and smiled breaking away from her mother's grasp and running towards us.

"Hime Sama! You're here again!" The girl claimed.

"Ah yes your recommendation was so good lord date and I have come together to eat here." I smiled.

The little girl happily nodded. "So does that mean you're gonna marry lord date?! Mama said that he was gonna marry a pretty princess that was visiting."

"Ehh! I...well I mean you're not wrong he will choose a princess to marry but you see I'm..."

"Princess Asuka is merely visiting on behalf of her father she is not here to marry me." Masamune reasoned.

The little girl frowned. "Why not? Hime sama is sooo much better than those other girls, they haven't even come to visit the people like Hime sama has...they seem dull and boring."

Lord date looked shocked and surprised at the young girls outburst. I felt embarrassed on how highly the young girl wanted me to marry lord date and stay in Oshu, at that moment the girls mother swiftly rushed over and grabbed her arm.

"Young Lady!! My lord and princess I am sooo sorry about my child's rudeness I swear she meant no insult or harm I promise to keep her out of your hair!" The mother apologized bowing.

"No it's alright, we know she meant no harm so please calm down." I persuaded.

The mother nodded and dragged her child away from the shop holding a bag of food on the other.

Lord masamune covered his face and chuckled. "Kids these days have no filter, what a headstrong girl." He praised.

I giggled as well. "Yes she will be a headache to deal with as she gets older I sense trying times for her mother."

He nodded in agreement, our food arrived and had been placed in front of us.

"Well I guess we should fill our empty stomachs so we can finish the tour of Oshu." He laughed.

"Yes lord Date."

Lord date and I ate our lunch and paid for the meals to which the owner tried to reject but failed. We would not eat for free and we must support local business within our lands. He and I left the shop and got back on his horse resuming the tour of the region.

We ended up at a waterfall in the hillside of his lands. It was very impressive, the water was crystal clear and the wind struck the water fall making rain like sprinkles of ice. A small stream narrowed the waterfall where Masamune and I ventured.

"So beautiful....Lord Date" I admire sitting on a boulder near the stream.

"Asuka I brought you here because there's something I wish to discuss with you."

My heart tightened in anxiety. "What would you like to discuss then?"

"I want to talk about you, your life, values, beliefs and goals." He stated.

"Well if you wish to know then it's only fair that I ask similar questions to you One eyed Dragon." I teased.

"That will be fine, I will answer you easily and shortly I'm the man that will rule this country nothing more and nothing less." He boasted.

"I'm a simple woman Lord Date, I was born a princess, spoiled and pampered all my life, watched over as much as possible for my protection , I am the middle child of my family and the only daughter. My brother Takuma is the oldest and he is to succeed the throne whenever my father died or retired. My role as princess...is to ensure the safety and preserve the quality of life of my people. I was taught to me outspoken, determined, strong but delicate, honest and respectful...I was taught how to rule however my fate is to not rule." I explained clenching my fist.

"That's why I wish to leave your lands I'm gonna fight for my right to rule if it was up to my father he would've appointed me but he passed away from his sudden illness....I admire you Lord Date, your people are kind, lands are beautiful yet prosperous, you have a loyal army and advisers. Any of the other princesses would be lucky to become your wife." I explained.

Lord Masamune smiled and grabbed my hands with his. "I'm aware about how blessed I am to have such loyalty and happiness in my lands during these times, while the women who have come to meet me are certainly beautiful, I'm afraid I cannot choose them as my bride."

I gasped. "Why not? Whoever you choose will surely benefit your lands and their lands as well, during these trying times it not a good idea to refuse an alliance through marriage."

He shook his head. " I know of that but there's another woman I can't get to keep out of my head, she's feisty, beautiful, headstrong, intelligent and compassionate."

I smiled removing my hands from his to ponder in thought. "She truly must be an amazing woman, why not marry that woman then?"

He chuckled. "I would like to court her first, she and I have not spent much time together...do you think that's a good idea?"

I nodded. "I think that's a great idea one eyed dragon, a courtship would definitely benefit you both and in the end a marriage could blossom."

"Alright then...Princess Asuka, I would like to establish a courtship with you, do you accept?" He requested.

I was shocked and startled by his proposal "Wait?! WHAT?!" I slipped off the boulder I was sitting on splashing onto the water in the stream. The bottom ends of my sleeves and bottom part of my kimono getting wet along with my shoes. I got up moving away from the stream, Masamune helping me drag my robes out of the water.

I looked at Masamune who had an amused look on his face. While I looked at him annoyed. "Masamune, it's very kind and sweet of you to offer me such a thing but I mentioned that marriage was not in my plans presently...there's a lot going on in my life right now."

Masamune helped me sit back on the boulder. "Which is why I've decided  on courtship I believe a courtship contract would benefit us both.....Listen princess Asuka I saw you sparring with your shinobi and I overheard your conversation."

I glared at the one eyed dragon. "And what of it? You believe I shouldn't challenge my brother to become ruler?" I spat.

His gaze became soft but upset at my answer. "No, I have heard about your older brother and he will not be merciful towards you. I believed a courtship would spare us from a fate we do not want...I'm also not planning to marry so soon but a courtship will allow us to slow down and get to know each other. It will be a simple contract you will come visit and stay with me for a few weeks until the war is over and in the end if we both agree to end things we can go back to our normal lives. It's a good idea I provide aid for your clan and in return you will be in a courtship with me for a while and in the end we can go our separate ways when we wish."

"And what if I choose to say no?" I challenged.

"Then you may go back home, challenge your kin and risk being exiled or executed which is something I know your father would not have wanted for you....it's your choice." He offered.

I breathed in deeply pondering his words. 'I'm not strong enough yet to challenge my brother, if I leave and choose to do nothing my brother will try to marry me off to some other warlord I do not know. A courtship is outdated but it's a smart idea for the both of us...but is it my only option?'

"I think I know why your father wanted us to meet princess." The warlord stated interrupting my thoughts.

Masamune closed in on me. He placed his hands around my hip and my back pulling me close to him. My breath hitched having him so close to me. "It's because he knew that after I saw you, I wouldn't be able to get you out of my head and my hands away from you." He purred.

I blushed. "Lord Date...I-umm.."

"Princess you got me heated ever since you got here." He growled. Masamune squeezed my hip. I placed a hand on his chest plate armor trying to push him away.

"Princess your feistiness is one of the reasons I'm interested in you. A woman who just obeys and is compliant is too boring for a man like me." He teased.

He leaned in to kiss me when I grabbed the small dagger my ninja gave me and pressed it against the warlord's neck. "I don't know what kind of woman you think I am one eyed dragon but I'm not a easy woman or a fool that can be taken advantage of just because your status." I hissed.

He smirked as he saw my dagger and pulled away from me. "I don't doubt it princess, I was just playing but is this how you would put down a warlord like you tried with Oda?"

I lowered my dagger and stashing it in my clothing. "No, I am able to fight straight ahead but Lord Nobunaga did not taste my sword his wife did."

"And what became of her? I do believe she still lives" He pressed.

I used the hand I had on Lord Date's chest and dragged it lower in his armor near where his abdomen ends. "I pierced lady Nohime down here, denying her any chances to produce the devil King's spawn." I whispered.

Lord Masamune's eyes widened. "You are a dangerous girl princess."

"My father taught me to fight to the end so I always will Lord Date." I proudly stated.

"He was a wise man princess, and he raised a strong woman." He praised.

"Thank you Lord Date."

"I think it's time to go back to the estate...we have toured almost all of Oshu and have had some casualties." He gestured to my wet clothes.

"Yes I think that's for the best." I agreed.

He helped me back onto the horse and we rode back to the estate. Lord Date helped me down as the retainers came to escort me. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him. "I will call for you later, for your answer of my proposal."

I nodded and allowed the retainers to escort me to the bathhouse to change out of my wet clothes. Once I bathed and changed I was back in the room assigned to me when I arrived. My shinobi waiting inside.

"Did you enjoy your date with Lord Masamune? From what I heard you were dripping wet when you came back." He asked smugly.

"Shut up! It was a mere accident nothing of importance but I will discuss something with you." I responded.

"And what might that be dear princess?"

"Lord Date asked for a courtship with me...he said it will benefit the both of us, buy us some time because he doesn't wish to marry so soon." I detailed.

Goemon rubbed his hair and sighed. "Princess Asuka do you wish something like this?"

"Goemon answer me honestly, at my strength and skill right now would I be able to challenge and defeat my older brother?" I choked.

He narrowed his eyes at me and shook his head. "Princess Asuka, you may be skillful with a sword but the challenge you propose against your brother...it will bring you defeat and misfortune."

"I see....that's all I wanted to know." I smiled through my tears.

A retainer announced himself before entering the room. I swiftly kept my back towards the sliding door to wipe my tears away.

"Princess Asuka, Lord Masamune requests your presence." The retainer reported.

"Yes, I will be on my way..."

The retainer escorted me towards masamune's war council room. He sat with his legs crossed looking at the maps on the floor.

The retainer announced my presence and left the two of us alone. He stood up from the floor and addressed me.

"Princess it's nice to see you out of the wet clothes from earlier." He teased.

I blushed. "Well it was your fault for startling me like that..."

"Do you have an answer to my proposal Princess?"

Masamune grabbed my hand with his and brought it to his lips kissing my the front.

"Yes...I do have an answer"

"And what will it be?"

I took a deep breath and exhaled. "I will accept your offer for courtship...in return I am saving myself and my people from misfortune."

He smiled. "This will benefit us both Princess....I wish only the best future for us both during these uncertain times. Kojuro will write out the details of our courtship and with your shinobi's help he will deliver it to Lord Takuma for his signature and approval which I doubt he will refuse."

"May I still be cleared to go back home tonight?" I asked bashfully?

"Yes as I promised we spent time with each other so I will agree to your wish to go back home and heal your heart from your losses until we meet again in a few weeks.

"Thank you Lord Masamune..."

"I will have some of my soldiers escort you back home, while your shinobi should leave immediately back to your region to give your Lord my proposal." He arranged.

I nodded. "Then I will start packing my things...to set out."

"Well then I will see you at dinner princess and later say my farewells. Please send your shinobi to this room so we can send him off with the courtship arrangements."

I nodded and Masamune called for a soldier to escort me back to my chambers. Once I arrived I instructed Goemon to go with Katakura San and lord Masamune to leave for my homeland. Around dinner time the princesses, lord Masamune and his right eye had an announcement for us.

Masamune's POV

"Dear princesses spending time with you has truly been an honor and the time we have spent together I will miss, however you have all come here to fulfill your duties as princesses of your lands. I have already written my decision of who will become my bride."

The princesses looked hopeful almost excited except obviously princess Asuka who knew of my decision.

"You will take these letters back to the heads of your family it will inform them of lord Masamune's decision." Kojuro instructed.

"It's truly been an honor to be here Lord Date." Princess himemiko thanked.

"I wish nothing but the best in our futures lord Date it's been a time I will treasure." Princess Kazuma also thanked.

"I'm grateful for the time I've been here my father has always spoken highly of you one eyed dragon. I'm glad that his praises were not misplaced." Princess Asuka added.

"All you princesses are something special, I'm sure your families and friends are exceptionally proud of you... I also would like to announce that princess Asuka will be departing back to her lands after dinner she had much work to do when she gets back." I expressed.

"Aww Princess we will miss you." Princess himemiko stated.

"I wish you nothing but the best princess." Princess Kazuma wished.

"Ah yes, thank you everyone." Princess Asuka blushed.

Dinner was served and everyone ate and conversed for some time.

My men arrived to announce that princess Asuka's escorts were ready to take off so she excused herself and left the room.

"Should I go see the princess off my lord Masamune?" Kojuro asked.

I shook my head. "It's not needed our guys will be able to get her home safely and out of Oshu easily." I bragged.

He nodded and resumed to his meal. Once we were done the remaining Princess were escorted back to their rooms since they would be leaving tomorrow. Kojuro and I went to the courtyard to drink sake. When one of the guys came running.

"Big Boss!!"

"Nagobae what's happening?"

The escorts we sent for princess Asuka were found at the stables knocked out and stripped of their armor! They must've taken princess Asuka! They were headed towards the mountain path last we saw them."

"Shit! Kojuro we have to go get her!"

He agreed. "Yes Lord Masamune we must get her back."

We suited up our armor and went to the mountain path to find Princess Asuka. The mountain path had the prints of the horses that carried the chariot she was held in. In the distance we saw the chariot crashed on the side of the mountain. With one horse instead of two.

"Princess Asuka!!" Kojuro shouted.

As we got closer the bodies of two men laid bloodied and dead on the floor. While we heard the struggles of another man. We approached further and saw Princess Asuka fighting with what seem the last of her assailants with a sword from the fallen enemies.

"Princess!!" I called.

"Lord Masamune!" 

Her opponent took that opening to dodge her attack hold her hostage in his arms. They were wrapped around her waist and neck.

"Let the Princess go scum before I make you regret it." I warned.

He shook his head. "I'm afraid not one eyed dragon there are many generals who would want the treasure that Princess Asuka possesses and the highest bidder might be the one to take it all."

Princess Asuka struggled in his hold she managed to free her hand which the assailant didn't mind since he thought he had her pretty restraint. Swiftly she reached into her breast and pulled out her small knife. She stabbed the man in his arm causing him to cry out and let her go, she ran towards kojuro and he kept her safe.

"Well done princess but I'm gonna show this fool to not mess with one eyed dragon or his guests." I bragged.

I took out my swords and aimed it at my opponent. "Big boss of Oshu, Date Masamune No holding back!"

I lunges myself at him. "MAGNUM STRIKE!!!"

The attack struck my opponent and blew a heavy wind gust around us. The men who tried to take her were all dead now. I made my way back to Princess Asuka and Kojuro.

"Are you alright princess?"

She nodded. "I figured out quickly that the men who escorted me were not from your army...I planned an attack to try and fight them off but again I was a bit outnumbered."

"You did well Princess, you took two of the bastards out by yourself, pretty badass if you ask me. You're full of surprises Princess" I praised.

She blushed. "Well I'm still not as good as I thought I'd be...still have to train some more."

She tried walking up to the horse but limped.

"Princess are you hurt?!" Kojuro voiced.

"I must've sprained my ankle when I fought the two assailants back there." She winced.

I picked her up bridal style. "I'll assist you Princess, we'll go back to Oshu and get you checked out with a doctor. Then I'll request for your shinobi to be the one who escorts you back home...I feel like you'll be safer and more at ease."

I placed her on the horse first then myself, all of us returning to back to the estate. Kojuro went to put his horse in the stables leaving the princess and I alone in the castle entrance. I felt her hold my waist tightly.

"Thank you for coming to help me one eyed dragon." She softly thanked.

I chuckled. "Don't worry about it, you're a very important girl to me now and it would bother me if someone else had to bask in your everlasting beauty and skillful assets."

I got off my horse and picked up Princess Asuka. She held onto me very tightly, her arms wrapped around my neck. A retainer came to take my horse and put it away. As I walked back to the castle I heard Princess Asuka soft voice.

"Lord Masamune...."

I turned to her to find her lips on mine. I froze for a moment, before returning and deepening her kiss. I held her body tightly as she pulled away panting heavily and her face flushed.

"This—this is all the intimacy you're getting in our courtship!" She stuttered flustered at her actions.

I smirked. "Well we'll see how long that statement lasts Princess."

Time skip....

Masamune's POV

8 months passed during the courtship. First of all Princess Asuka went home with her shinobi to process the aftermath of her family losses and assess her duties as Princess. A few week later she was back at Oshu with escort of her shinobi. We were able to spend time together whenever we had a chance and she was able to get close to the people who lived in my lands. Later Many things transpired war wise leading up to the big battle against the Devil king. With the Oda army gone I revisited the terms of my courtship to Princess Asuka and proposed a marriage to her which she accepted. Now we are to wed soon hopefully before another war puts the country back into chaos.

This is probably my longest one shot I've ever written took me about a week maybe to write as I rebinged sengoku basara which I LOVE ❤️ such a great show. I recommend to those who like samurai anime's I know it's not 100% accurate historically but it's still a good show.
