A/N guys I'm not a doctor so I kinda made up some medical procedures and stuff don't be mad it's just so it can fit the story disregard if it sounds like out of this world some of the medical procedures and terms

Chosokabe's POV

My beautiful wife Ayame is pregnant with my child, I couldn't be happier to know that the both us couldn't be more excited than we are right now.

But having Ayame pregnant meant I would have to postpone sailing out of the island for a while. It would suck to be without the ocean's wind hitting my face, but it was a sacrifice I had to make.

I found myself pouting. My wife barged into the room happiness brimming in her eyes.

"Chosokabe look! My stomach." She pointed out.

It had only been 3 months and she already had a bump it was small, but it meant a lot to her and I.

"Yes Ayame, there's a child growing inside of you." I stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

She giggled in happiness. "Yes, I'm aware of that, now what do you think the baby's going to be like?"

I smiled. "I honestly wouldn't know what to tell you Ayame, who knows how our baby is going to be like?"

I laid down on the futon in our bedroom, I extended my hand and motioned her to lay next to me, she complied and I carefully helped her even though she was 3 months pregnant the child was rather heavy according to her and I had to be careful because she was so clumsy she could accidentally hurt the child.

I had Ayame lay next to me, I stroked her stomach lovingly and she giggled placing her hands on the side of my face, kissing my lips softly.

"Mmm Ayame, I don't want to do something I'm gonna regret." I mumbled.

She smiled and kissed my lips again. "Oh yeah? Like what chosokabe?"

I kissed her lips again. "Mmm like doing very dirty things to you."

She giggled as I kissed her neck over and over. "Chosokabe that tickles."

"We should take advantage of this moment before you become too sensitive to be intimate like this." I mumbled on her skin.

She placed a hand on my shoulder and a hand on face, while she kissed me. "As tempting as that sounds right now my back is hurting, the baby is a little heavy, so I just want to rest right now." She stated.

I pouted. "Not even a little bit?"

She shook her head. "Nope sorry, maybe tomorrow I'll feel better and I might let you have your way but for now I want to rest for a while."

I sighed and smiled. "Fine it's as you wish my cherry blossom, rest for now I'll keep you both safe."

She smiled and kissed my cheek. "Thank you."

She fell asleep in my arms. I looked at her tranquil face and fragile body. 'Man I really want to do her...'

I shook that thought away from my head. 'No she's pregnant I can't expect her to want to sleep with me when she's carrying my child....man I miss the ocean.'

I wanted to take a good look at it, so I slowly moved Ayame aside to go outside and look at the ocean.

"I really want to go out sailing with my guys soon." I muttered.

"Aneki!!" Someone called.

"Oh hey shiso what's going on?" I asked.

"Aneki the men and I were thinking about going sailing for 2 weeks we heard the weather was perfect and apparently the water changes color during that certain weather we wanted to let you know because we couldn't go sailing without our captain." He mentioned.

"That's sound amazing right now of course I'll go." Finally this is my chance to go sailing.

Shiso nodded. "I'll tell the men at once captain."

"Eh wait shiso come back!" I exclaimed.

"Yes sir what is it?"

"Do not mention anything of this trip to my wife understand?" I ordered.

He frowned. "But why captain why would you keep this a secret from lady Ayame?"

"I don't want her to worry, also she might want to convince me not to go she's rather extremely attached to me right now." Not in a bad way though, but I just want some alone time with my boys I'm so tired of staying here in the Island my heart yearns for adventure and the ocean.

Shiso nodded. "Yes sir, I'll make sure no one tells lady Ayame."

I smiled. "Good then it's settled then we'll go sailing when the tides is right."

We both parted our ways and I came back to Ayame's side thinking she was still sleeping.

However I was rather happy when I entered the room she was awake and I was able to get some 'sexy time' with her, as she promised.

Later when she became 6 months pregnant she and I got in a huge fight....

"Chosokabe you're leaving the island to go sailing?!" She yelled.

"Uh......yes why?" I avoided. Damn who told her it was supposed to be a secret!!!

"Why didn't you tell me were you gonna leave!" She exclaimed.

I looked at her face filled with rage. 'Man she's really mad at me!!'

"Look Ayame I was only going to be at sea for 2 weeks that's all." I reasoned. Honestly I don't know what is her problem with me leaving for 2 weeks.

"Chosokabe you're leaving without me?" She asked her voice breaking. Oh man she's giving me those eyes again.

"Look my main priority is to keep you and our child safe you're staying in the island, and I'm going sailing." I stated.

"No you're not, you're staying here in the island with me." She demanded.

I glared at her. "What did you just say?"

She glared right back. "I SAID YOU. ARE. NOT. GOING. SAILING."

That got my blood boiling. "Ayame I'm going sailing whether you like it or not, I'm not staying in the island the boys and I have been planning this for months and I won't......oops!" Damn I fucked up.

"Ohhhh so you've been planning this for a long time and you thought you could secretly leave without me noticing well you're wrong Chosokabe, if you're going sailing then you're gonna have to take me with you." She stated.

"No I'm not taking you with me Ayame you're pregnant and it's not healthy to be in a moving ship you can seriously hurt yourself." I argued.

"Fine then if I'm staying HERE you're also staying HERE." She spat.

"I will not stay here Ayame I don't get what's the big deal with me going sailing and leaving you alone for 2 weeks?! I don't fucking get what's your shit with this trip?!" I yelled out I was already furious with her.

I subconsciously gripped her wrist. Squeezing it tightly.

*SLAAAPP!!!*

My eyes widened. 'Ayame slapped me?'

"You think I don't see the way you look at the ocean? You stare at it with such longing it makes me feel like you hate staying in the island with me." She cried.

I let go of her wrist. "Ayame..."

"Go....go sailing I won't get in your way...." Her voice broke.

Her hands covered her face, but I knew very well I had upset her and made her cry.

"Ayame...."

"Go!! Get out!! Go sailing since you love the ocean more than you love your wife and child!! Leave already!!" She yelled running away from the room.

"Fine..."

And with that I left to go sailing the men were already prepared to leave for 2 weeks I wouldn't see my wife, but the way we said goodbye....I wondered if I could sleep at night.

Time skip 1 week passed....

I had another sleepless night thinking about the fight I had with Ayame, she thought I loved the ocean more than I love her and the baby. I love them both, her and the baby I would risk everything for them to be okay.....the ocean is just a minor sacrifice I had to make for them both but yet again here I was laying on the hammock on a ship.

My parrot squawked and chirped that made me smile a bit. I was just relaxing, the hammock moving according to the ships movement. I was about to finally fall asleep when I heard a commotion outside.

I groaned and got up from the hammock and went onto the deck to address the commotion.

"What's with all the talking and shit?! I had finally gotten sleep and you blokes woke me up."

"Chosokabe sama it's lady Ayame!! She's not doing well." They yelled.

My eyes widened. "What are you talking about?!"

They gave me a scroll apparently a messenger bird had brought it onto the ship. My heart stopped as I read the message.

'Lord Chosokabe motochika we urgently are in need of your presence in Shikoku due to the fact that your wife lady Ayame's pregnancy has complicated ever since your departure at sea, your servants and doctor require your presence as we must have approval from you to decide what decision we must make in order to save your wife and child, lady Ayame and the child are both in great pain and we must decide soon what to do if you do not appear in Shikoku soon we will be forced to remove the child lady Ayame is bearing causing the child to die in order to save her life.

During this difficult time we shall await your return to Shikoku....'

I started panicking. 'I have to go back tonight as soon as possible.'

"Men turn this ship around we must arrive in Shikoku no later than tonight! Use the fugaku's full speed to get there on time you all know what to do, your lady's life and child are in danger we have to get there soon." I shouted.

"Yes sir!!" They yelled.

They all scattered and sharply turned the ship around making it go at full speed.

"Please Ayame hold on a bit longer, I'm coming home...." I whispered.

Meanwhile in the island of Shikoku....

Ayame's POV

"Please fix me some water I'm so thirsty..." I begged.

The servants looked at me in pity.

"Of course my lady Ayame, please remain calm and relaxed we don't want you to get worked up." They assured.

I nodded. "Yes I know, now go."

They left to attend my need, I was soon left alone by myself.

This all had started the day I had my fight with chosokabe after he left I felt the baby kicking more and soon I felt the small pains increasing. Soon it turned out to be contractions, the doctors told me that I couldn't be having contractions during this time unless the baby was in danger...I was scared I needed my husband, my Chosokabe....

The servants came back with the water and the doctor.

"My lady please try to calm down and the relax the baby can feel your anxiety and fears it will cause the baby to stress." The doctor warned.

I felt another contraction it hurt so bad.

"UGHHHH I can't take the pain anymore!!" I screamed.

The doctor came to my side and checked me to feel what was happening.

"No it can't be, you're dilating...you can't be falling into labor the baby won't make it." The doctor stated.

"What are you going to do?" I asked afraid.

"There's an old method I know, it's rather painful but I think it will work." He suggested.

I grabbed his hand. "I'll do anything to save my baby..."

The doctor looked at me and nodded. "Alright I'll bring the equipment."

I laid my head on the pillow, the pain started to become worse. Chosokabe please come back, I need you.

My pains started increasing. A nurse looked at me held my hand. "My lady whatever pain comes you mustn't push if you do the baby will be delivered and will not live through the process since the baby isn't developed enough to be by itself."

I nodded not being able to speak because of the pain. Soon the doctor came back with a triangle shaped box. "My lady this is for your hips and back, your legs will lie in an upwards position, gravity will help push the baby into the womb assuming that you haven't broken your water. (A/N basically it's one of those triangle furniture you place your hips on for yoga but like made of wood, it's very uncomfortable at least in my opinion.)

"Ugghhhhhaaaaahhhhh!!!" I cried out.

It was already so painful, and the box made my hips lie in an upward angled position.

Meanwhile at the ship with the crew....

Chosokabe's POV

I could see the island of Shikoku it was getting dark and I wanted to get there desperately.

"C'mon men we're almost there! Make the ship go faster!" I exclaimed.

"Yes sir!!"

"Please Ayame...please hang on..."

The ship went faster to the point the engines were smoking.

"Captain we've reached the port of Shikoku!" My crew shouted.

I nodded and quickly jumped off the ship running towards our estate. I opened the sliding door, and looked for Ayame. Suddenly I heard screaming from one of the rooms. I entered to find my wife with the Doctor holding her hands.

"My Lord your back!" The doctor exclaimed.

"My ayame please don't be afraid I'm here now and I will be by your side." I cried.

I held ayame's hand while she went through this painful process she could barely speak but I knew that I had come back when I felt her squeeze my hand while she was sedated after a couple hours. She slept for so long I thought I must've lost her but she was still breathing. I looked at her stomach and saw little dents on her stomach. I smiled it was the baby, I leaned onto her stomach I felt the baby kick where I laid, so I got curious I opened the bottom part of ayame's kimono revealing her stomach and I saw it on her skin. The baby's footprints and hand print. I was so overwhelmed with happiness I kissed the prints on her stomach several times.

I felt someone's hand caress my hair. I looked up and saw ayame wide awake still tired but was conscious of what I was doing.

"That tickles Chosokabe....the baby loves feeling your touch just like I do." She weakly smiled.

I winced and a tear fell from my eye. "You're so strong, I had never noticed what you were going through in order to bring our child to this world."

Ayame chuckled."You flatter me too much, you're here with me now and that's what's important."

I frowned. "If I hadn't gone sailing for so long this wouldn't have happened....I'm sorry I left you....I shouldn't have done something so selfish, I love you too much and this baby is everything to me and you two are the most precious things in my life."

I kissed ayame and she hummed. "I won't lose our child, nothing will happen to our baby."

Ayame winced and I started panicking.

She reassured. "Ugh back pain just a little bit longer than expected."

"You'll get through this my cherry blossom." I promised kissing her cheek.

She spend about 3 days on and off the hip elevation treatment, it was painful for her and it was for me as well to watch her be in pain. Sometimes when it became unbearable the doctors would sedate her for a pain release.

"I'm glad to tell you that I'm quite positive that the baby is in the right position." The doctor said when he checked her.

Ayame sighed in relief. "The baby is going to be alright."

"Yes it'll be fine as long as you don't make reckless movements and your emotions are kept in check the baby should be fine."

"Thank you doctor for helping my Ayame." I thanked.

The doctor nodded his head. "It's quite alright chosokabe sama."

I nodded. The doctor had left the room leaving me with ayame.

"I feel the baby is okay Chosokabe so please stop worrying." Ayame chimed.

I nodded. "Yeah I believe you ayame maybe I'm just worrying to much."

Time skip...The next day.

Ayame was able to finally get up and walk around seeing her happy again made me smile. I saw her at the balcony looking at the sea with a serious face. I approached her from behind and wrapped my hands around her stomach and placed my chin on her shoulder.

"The ocean could never replace you or our child ayame understand that, you and our child are the most important treasures in my life nothing could make me turn away from you both."

Ayame smiled. "It seems I'm the same as well nothing could make me leave you or forget you even after all we went through, I want to be with you forever with our child."

I felt the baby moved, the little kicks against my hand. Ayame also felt them and smiled.

"We can't wait till we get to see you."

We said in unison.
