saturgay

Saturday, 16:56,

Now, a little background information about Remus: he hadn't been on a date since he was fourteen, meaning back then that whenever he did, it was always in the nearby town of Hogsmeade since he was at school. He knew for a fact that dates when you were eighteen were a lot more sophisticated when you were eighteen than they were when you were a pubescent teen. Or maybe people didn't socialise anymore and it was just a 'hey, the house is empty 😏' sent by text...

He felt himself lean back on to the wall of the bookshop.

Needless to say, Remus hadn't planned anything and was panicking heavily. Going to Greggs wasn't an ideal place to go for a first date, that was for sure, so he was just going to pretend like he had a plan when Sirius eventually showed up and would go along with whatever seemed normal. Perfect.
"Hiya, Moony." a voice came from his left. He immediately sprang away from the wall and beamed happily at Sirius.
"H-hi." Remus cursed himself for his stutter, but kept his face bright and smiling.
"Aww, look at you, all dressed up like the cutie you are." Sirius quipped while standing on his tip toes to pinch Remus' cheek.
"And look at you in your adorable all black, punk outfit." shot back Remus sarcastically.

"Lily? As in... redhead Lily Evans?" Sirius enunciated each word with surprise clear in his voice. He remembered the time he saw her in the bookshop asking Remus where to put some books, but he didn't know they were friends! He should've known though, they're both huge nerds. Oh my god, Remus said he spoke to her yesterday, what if she told him about all about what James timed? Shit, shit, shit.
"She's an absolute goddess with the best fashion advice." Remus sighed contentedly, putting his hands in to his jacket pockets.
"Her and James make an unlikely pair; she's an elegant grace who'll punch you in the face and James is a little prick who stole my tissues while we watched Me Before You." Sirius lips curled as he mentioned his best friend in a way that made him spit his words.
"How bloody dare he!" the boy next to him snorted and Sirius cracked a smile. That was actually pretty cu- stop being cliché, fucker, Sirius thought to himself before abolishing what his inner self had to say.
"He's such a bitch." Sirius discreetly hooked his arm in to Remus' and bit the inside of his cheek as he waited for a reaction. The person next to him tensed and his eyes darted from side to side, but soon settled on shuffling about so Sirius could be comfortable.
"You're brave, y'know that?" Sirius whispered in such a low tone that Remus nearly didn't catch it, but when he did, he smiled lightly.
"I personally think that someone put a dose of 'I don't give two shits anymore' in to my veins, but I can't say I'm disappointed." Remus didn't bother to look down at Sirius' comical 'o' shaped mouth and instead tried to look for a nice place to grab a bite. Standing out from the other large shops, a small wrap stand caught Remus' eye because of it's rustic, homely look.
"C'mon. I think I found a place that looks... edible." Remus quickened his pace.
"Who the fuck eats places?"
Remus glared at Sirius who merely smiled sheepishly back.
"You know what I mean."
"Do I?" Sirius decided to push himself to the limit. Grabbing his wrist, Remus pulled Sirius forward, palm slipping down dangerously.

His breath caught in his throat as Remus saw a bored Frank Longbottom standing behind a countertop, shoulders slumped. He walked up to the counter and held his head low.
"Oh, hey Rem." Frank grinned mischievously, eyeing the boy standing next to his friend. There was something recognisable about his raven black hair and leather jacket.
"Hi, Frank." Remus scratched at his cuticles.
"And Black!" Frank found the familiarity to match Sirius Black's, a boy who played on the footie team.
" 'Ello, Lengthyass." Sirius teased and Frank fought the urge to rip out Sirius' hair. Clearly he hadn't grown up since fifth year.
"I'm- what?" Remus looked between the two with wide eyes. Some sort of link was between these two...
"Played on the football team from second year to fifth, this chap did." his date smiled as if he'd had a great reunion.
"Quite an ass, Black was and is. What're you doing with him anyway?" Frank queried, taking note on how Remus bit the inside of his lip. He'd known for a few years (at least he did after Alice told him) that his friend harboured an a different sort of affection for boys, even if he acted uninterested in nearly everyone, and was still patiently awaiting the day when his friend's confidence had grown and would come out.
"So- ok, so wait. Basically-"
"You're gay."
