hamlet

(exactly one month after the first text)
Monday, 18:45,

Being the completely extra person he was, Sirius decided that (to mark the first month of his friendship with Remus) it was a good time to buy Hamlet, seeing as it was the book that the cute boy he met from text was reading the first time they spoke.

He seemed to have gotten in to the home of the many shops quicker than usual, though that was probably because he, for once, was ignoring the cracks in the concrete. I mean, he at least stood on one, so there was a slight chance his mother's back broke. Fingers crossed. A warm breeze caressing his loose curls, Sirius hooked them behind his ears while feeling about his bun to check if he needed to redo it. He didn't, for it was still perfectly imperfect. Not too messy, not to neat. Just how he liked it.

It was a dull, dull day at work for Remus. The only exciting thing that happened was the fifty pence discount he got on his hot chocolate for being such a frequent customer. He didn't exactly know if that was a good thing, seeing as he just noticed he'd been going to that café since the start of the summer. He quickly decided that it didn't matter because anything at a discount was better than full price. The customers at the bookshop he worked on thought so too. Recalling the memory, Remus mind whirled back to the time last week when Miss Umbridge -a bitchy usual- burst in through the door with a coupon which looked like she got it out of her neighbour's bin and slammed it down on the till along with a book called 'Necessities of God and Why Homosexuality is a Sin'. Just seeing it nearly made him vomit, but it might've just been the annoying squeak of Miss Umbridge's complaining of how their books were so expensive and how it was great she found a coupon. The retort of 'Why are you a regular then if it's too expensive?' nearly sprang to his lips, but he managed to contain himself.

Enough about that dreadful lady though.

Clad in only black and leather, a boy with dark shades and hair tied up in a messy bun entered, a sense of familiarity with him.
Brushing it aside, Remus pushed his reading glasses further up the bridge of his nose and patiently waited for him to pick what he needed. Remus kind of liked his boots. And his hair. And that leather jacket. Shit, that jawline.

It was a very pretty sight finding all the Shakespeare books in perfect alphabetical order, even for somebody so careless about reading like Sirius. Picking up Hamlet and studying the regal red cover, he saw a glint of amber (most likely belonging to the bookseller) staring at him. Not in a creepy way that makes you want to run away, more like a 'hey, I think I've seen you before' way. Flashing a charming smile at the teen behind the till, Sirius placed the book down gently and waited for the price to be said. Even with his sunglasses still on, he could just about make out the faint freckles of the bookseller, and he found them quite cute, but that hardly means anything; he always finds freckles cute.
"That's six pounds please." the boy in front of him grinned sweetly, something he had learnt to do over the years of working in the bookshop during the summers. Though he knew it was compulsory to do, Sirius couldn't help but feel a bit warmer inside.
"Thanks." Sirius replied, fishing in the pockets of his black skinny jeans.
"Bag?" it took a couple of seconds for the Black in the room to catch on to what was being said, but as soon as he did, he shook his head.
"No thank you."
Taking the book from the large hands that had scanned the books, Sirius pulled his phone out of his back pocket to quickly text Remus before leaving the shop.

Sirius:
Guess what babe!

Sirius:
To celebrate our one month anniversary, I bought hamlet!

A faint buzzing noise coming from behind him was heard by Sirius the second he sent the message. The bookseller flushed magenta.

cutesy:
"babe"

cutesy:
How extra

cutesy:
But funnily enough, I just sold Hamlet

Sirius:
And even more funnily enough, I just heard a notification go off behind me

The cockiest grin on his face, Sirius walked back to the till.

"Why, hello there, Moony."
