Chanyeol was walking with Lu Han, listening excitedly as the smaller boy spoke happily about soccer.

"So, juggling is a thing you do with your legs? What does it look like?"

Lu Han managed to make it look cool, though he was kicking an invisible ball. Chanyeol had caught on that that was a talent of Lu's.

"So, like this?" Chanyeol executed a very poor copy of Lu Han's previous motions, and the older boy laughed.

"Sure, exactly like that. Maybe you should try out with me."

Sehun leaned against his locker, not even attempting to pretend that he was paying attention to Jongin's chatter.

His focus was on the juniors passing by, and only when they rounded the corner did he turn to his friend.

"Hey, Nini," Sehun surprised his friend with his determined expression, no hesitation in his voice, a rare occurrence. "I'm gonna join the soccer team."

"But Hunnie, you don't play soccer."

Sehun faltered, his lips pulling down in worry, "but I will. You have to help me."

"Hey, Baram, check this out! Lu showed me this awesome soccer move!"

Once again, Chanyeol's execution was sloppy at best, but Baram clapped nonetheless, though the impressed look on her face was very clearly feigned. "Hey, can you kick the ball higher than your head? I want to see it hit the ceiling."

Chanyeol tried again, only this time his lanky legs threw him off centre, and he seemed to hover in the air for a moment before his legs violently scrambled to catch their balance.

He didn't fall, but he managed to knock someone behind him, and when he managed to steady himself, he turned to apologize.

"I'm so sorry, are you okay?"

"I was perfect until you hit me," Kyungsoo snapped.

"Way to go daddy long legs. You really are a shame to us fellow tall people," Baram teased, and Chanyeol frowned at her for a moment before turning back to the boy he hit.

Kyungsoo was having a terrible day, and his mood only worsened when he got shoved by some goofy older kid that didn't even bother to look where he was going. All he wanted was to get to his locker and go home, and instead he was now conversing with a moron, and, more importantly, he was going to end up with a bruise.

Chanyeol stared at him, suddenly intrigued. Normally, after making sure he was alright, Chanyeol would have just left, but there was something about this boy that drew his attention. As for Kyungsoo, though he knew who Chanyeol was, he couldn't be less interested in furthering the conversation, so he started back on his way.

"Hey, hang on a second, I've never seen you before, are you a freshman? But you can't be, I welcome every single new student in orientation and I don't remember you."

Kyungsoo paused, though he knew he shouldn't have, "well, maybe that's because I'm not a freshman."

"But you're new?"

Kyungsoo clenched his fists, debating whether or not he should make good on his earlier promise to hit the next person to ask him what year he was in.

Chanyeol leaned closer to get a better look at him, and Kyungsoo pressed a finger to his forehead, roughly pushing the tall boy away.

"But you seem familiar.... Do I know you from somewhere?"

Kyungsoo panicked, no, please let his unfortunate past run ins with the junior be forgotten.

"I really don't think so," he said, backing away in the hopes that Chanyeol would drop it. Where were his friends when he needed them? He could really use a rescue right about now.

"But those eyes.... Wait a second....  Kyungie? Is that you?"

Kyungsoo froze, unable to help it. He blew it, but that didn't stop him from denying it. "Nope, that's not me."

"Yes, yes it is.  Hey, I know you, come on! I'm Park Chanyeol! I babysat your neighbors, remember? You have to, come on, we saw each other every week! I know you!"

"Nope, no you don't."

"Yeah, come on, don't leave me hanging. I'm not crazy! I babysat Jaehyun and Hoseok for years! You live right next door!"

"No, you've got the wrong guy," Kyungsoo insisted before disappearing around the corner.
