"Choose which criticisms to take in."

Not all criticisms are necessary for our growth. Some would cause destruction if not attended appropriately. For this reason, it is important to filter the feedbacks we received, if useful or not. As writers, genuine reviews — whether negative or positive — play an important role in order to prosper. We should open our hearts to what others thought about our stories so that we will be enhanced. Despising constructive criticism is an act of foolishness. Fools think that they are perfect and know everything. To be wise, we should broaden our minds and accept corrections. However, there are certain feedbacks that are pointless and a kind of bashing to writers. These are comments which are irrelevant and not justified as to where and how our mistakes arose. In some cases, critics associate the crafts with its writers' behavior or throw foul words towards writers — and that is unjust.

After screening the criticisms you received, the final step is to apply the beneficial ones to your pieces. It is like the food you are eating — you will not be satisfied as long as just chew in your mouth, not until you swallow it respectively. Application of learning is vital. God gives us the Spirit to discern what is good and bad. Never take in all reviews, but be selective which are applicable and not. It is similar with consuming all foods including the spoiled — it will merely create gastric problem afterwards . Digest the useful and discard the opposite.
