IV

CHAPTER FOUR;
I AM NOT DYING!

"OH, MY GOD!" Sirius exclaimed, watching the blood pool up under Roselyn's shirt. I probably should've listened to Remus. She thought, reaching out to help the panicking boy out from under the Whomping Willow. "Oh, my God." He mumbled again, his eyes wide.

"You probably should've listened to Moony." He started to run towards the school, lightly dragging Roselyn by her now blood covered hands. The red glistened under the moonlight, and if it weren't completely morbid and extremely painful, Roselyn would think it beautiful. "Thanks, Sirius. Really, thank you. What great help you are." Roselyn scoffed. "Sorry, I just, I mean, you're literally dying right now." He started to whisper as they entered the school, heading down the hallway to Pomfrey's office.

"I am not dying!" She tugged back on Sirius' hand, the muscle in her arm sending a great wave of pain throughout the rest of her body. He shushed her with the same anger she had just shown him, wrapping her arm around his shoulder and helping her walk. "Maybe I am a little." She mumbled, her vision getting a little hazy as she looked back at the puddle of her blood that pooled from the small amount of time they were standing there. "Holy shit." Roselyn mumbled.

"I swear, Rose, I love you, but if the blood you're getting on my jacket doesn't come out, there's a small chance I'll murder you."

"Let's cross that bridge when we get to it," She mumbled, pushing open the door and falling onto Madam Pomfrey's floor, a small "Shit." escaping her lips. Sirius ran to the other side of the room, shoving various bottles and bandages into his arms and back over to Roselyn, whose eyes were fluttering open and closed. "I'm gonna have to take your shirt off." Sirius said, pausing.

"You really think I care?" She mumbled.
"What on earth?" Madam Pomfrey came out of her office and into the room, walking swiftly over to the both of them. "I, uh," Sirius started, unaware of how to explain the situation. "It was Remus Lupin, Ma'am," Roselyn groaned, he head back. "we normally go visit him during the full moon and we all lost track of time and all the sudden the moon was out and one thing led to another and he, well, you know."

Madam Pomfrey gestured for Sirius to lift her onto one of the beds, and he did as such smiling at her slightly. "But it wasn't his fault, Ma'am. We were irresponsible. We shouldn't have been out so late, he had no idea he was doing it, I promise, it's really all our faul-"

"I know, I know." She waved Roselyn off before she could finish. "Its only a scratch?" She asked.
       "Yeah. Yes." Roselyn replied, quickly.

"You aren't needed, Mr. Black." Madam Pomfrey stated as she started to lift Roselyn's blood-soaked shirt. "Yes, Ma'am." He nodded and turned on his heel to leave, stuffing his hands in his pockets. Roselyn hadn't bothered to look at her wound beforehand, being scared of death and all, so to see her chest ripped open was quite the surprise. There was a large, thick gash starting under her right breast and down to her left hipbone, and another small scratch right below it in the same direction. She hadn't really thought about the pain either, but upon finally seeing the wound, she realized just how much it hurt. And then she realized how much worse it would hurt Remus.

"Madam Pomfrey, you can't tell him." Roselyn groaned again as the matron started to dab the blood off her chest.

"I'm sorry?" Pomfrey asked, confused. "Remus. You can't tell him. He's always worried that things like this will happen, and he would beat himself up about it to no end." Roselyn watched as she started to pour Dittany Oil onto a soft towel. "He has every right to be worried that he could hurt someone! He's a werewolf for Merlin's sake. You're lucky this scratch isn't any deeper, you'd be dead as soon as you got here."

"Madam Pomfrey, I mean this in the most respectful way possible; if you ever say anything negative about Remus being a werewolf like that I will go to Dumbledore myself and convince him to fire you. I mean it."

"I'm guessing there's no way I can convince you to stop visiting him, so nothing like this ever happens again?" She asked, annoyingly passive aggressive.

"No." Roselyn stated firmly. "There's absolutely nothing."

"Is she alright?" James bombarded Sirius at the entrance to the Whomping Willow, Peter still scrambling out of the tunnel. Sirius looked over his shoulder to find that the sun was, indeed, rising. "She'll be fine. She's with Madam Pomfrey. She'll be alright by tomorrow. Where's Moony?" He ran a shaky hand through his hair.

"Passed out at the Shack." Peter replied, staring intently at the blood on Sirius' jacket. "He passed out?" Sirius asked, starting to walk back to the school. "Yep, right onto the ground. I don't think he remembers anything." James replied, wiping the sweat off his palms onto his pants.
"Do you think he ever remembers?"
"No clue."

"Did you see the moon tonight?" Peter asked the other two, taller boys. "And how orange it was? Couldn't miss it." James answered. "I think Side-Eye called it a blood moon or something while we were coming down. Said they were pretty rare." Sirius added, shrugging.

"Maybe thats what triggered Remus. I've never seen that before. He's never lashed out like a that. That was like, crazy intense." James trailed off and ended the sentence with mumbling.

"That makes sense. Yeah, I mean he literally freaked out over nothing." Sirius whispered, entering the school. "Nothing." Peter repeated. "Absolutely nothing."
