5 Myths about Self Publishing Pt. 1
1. You should always expect a Payday each month.
T/F: False. Sorry to burst your bubble, but unless you are a mega-hit author with a big movie or tv series based on your book, or a huge fan base (Not always), I wouldn't expect much more than pocket money.
2. You should always price higher.
T/F: It depends. Whatever price works for your customers and makes you money should be your price.
3. Before pressing the publish button, you should ensure everything is ready for publishing.
T/F: True. From a personal experience, you should always check that you're happy with everything: Cover, editing, font, styles, formatting... before clicking publish. I've made this mistake multiple times and had to make the hard decision to unpublish.
4. You should consider Traditional Publishing.
T/F: True. If it's an option, go for it. It won't hurt you or your pocket if it's not a scam. Consider every option.
5. You should enter contests to better your chances of Traditional publishing, popularity, or even a movie or tv show deal.
T/F: True. If it doesn't hurt your wallet, go for it. Maybe you'll land your big break and become the next Imaginator1D. Check out Coverfly.com.
