V

Jess must be out of her mind.

She actually allowed Donghyuck to stay over at her place.

She must live alone currently, as we both entered into her suite-like condo in the middle of basically a rich community. Donghyuck widened his eyes as he exited out of the elevator as he whispered into my ear, "Okay even if I live in a big home, this is very extravagant."

But the rest of the conversation went unheard as I myself was trying to process what was taking place. Jess unlocked the door to her place as we walked a bit far from her, and she impatiently tapped her foot against the floor so that we would hurry the fuck up. I got her message, and I tugged Donghyuck's sleeve to stop staring and actually get inside of her place.

The whole apartment was decorated beautifully with chandeliers as she threw the key to her place onto a nearby counter. The kitchen was the first one to be seen, as the hallway then lead towards the living room. There were about three rooms that were connected towards the living room, which probably were the bedrooms and another unidentified room that was probably the bathroom or the storage.

Jess continued to walk towards the couch, in which she rested her body against the sofa and stared at me as I was completely still frozen at the entrance of the place. Donghyuck followed her, and he sat down quietly at the sofa as well. Jess rolled her eyes and laughed softly at me as she called me out, "Hey just sit down and stop standing there."

I walked towards them, after getting a good glimpse of what her place was. She lived in a much bigger place than I was, and I made sure to also text my younger brother to ensure his safety. He replied pretty quickly, and I then placed my phone onto the coffee table in front of the sofa. There was a huge tv that rested a few feet from us, and she turned it on immediately as she lowered the volume.

Jess then looked over at Donghyuck, who was spaced out from looking all over the place, "Ren lives here too. Maybe you should talk to him and sleep in his room when he comes back."

I stared quietly at Donghyuck's face as his expression soon revealed to be relaxed and replied, "Thanks...I think it's best if I do get to talk to him."

"I'm not sure if he will talk to you, but we're leaving all the doors open."

I haven't really seen these two interact before, but it felt so natural. It felt as if they already knew each other from before, but they erased all forms of contact towards each other as they never interacted. Jess soon excused herself from the spot as she headed towards her own room to change. Donghyuck caught me off guard as he slid his hand over to rest over mine as I was staring at the television screen. "I know you're confused...but I'll explain... I know I say this over and over again. But, it's all really just complicated because of Jeno."

I knew I couldn't fight that. Six months really flew by without a word, and it's already nearing the end of the month when school would end in a month. I knew I had to give him some time to clear his thoughts up and explain himself, and I soon replied after holding his hand back, "I know. Don't worry. I'm here to listen to it all. What about Jisung?"

"Jaemin said he picked Jisung up and they're going to stay at Jaemin's place. Father seemed to already have been upset as Jisung really wanted to escape from the house today. I can't even protect my little brother; how can I fight Jeno and his family?"

My hands automatically made their way towards Donghyuck's cheeks as I cradled them softly within my warm hands. His cold cheeks were already warmed up when I did so, as I tried to make him smile despite the whole situation that was going around. His eyes closed soon after as I felt the weight of his face resting against my palms. "We'll get through it together. I know it's nothing but look at us now. It took a while since we were brought here."

I cringed within the inside of my body as I never thought I would have the courage to say this. But Donghyuck smiled with content, and he kissed the tip of my nose without even opening his eyes. I froze a little before a smile crept onto my face slowly. He then opened his eyes slowly, and his glistening orbs were staring at mine without another word. We stared quietly at each other before the door opened slowly, and Donghyuck slowly backed away from me to stand up. I watched him as my eyes followed towards where he was facing, and there was just a growing awkward silence between the atmosphere.

"Donghyuck?"

"Ren.."
