I followed the other nervously as there was a large crowd of people already gathering to witness Jaemin's father and Donghyuck's father enter into the principal office. Jaemin seemed to have also arrived to the scene, as he made his way over to us. Soon after arriving, all the eyes seem to follow him towards us, where Donghyuck and I stood there quietly without wanting a scene to form. However, the one thing I noticed was that Jeno was not around. Usually, he would be involved in everyone's business; he was nowhere to be seen within the crowd forming.
The teachers came out from their offices and dismissed us angrily for being a nuisance, as Donghyuck muttered under his breath, "That bastard already escaped."
I turned worriedly to glance at Jaemin, whose face was not as bright as before as well. Wondering what the conversation might be, I tried to listen to the teachers gossip amongst themselves when all the students made their way down the hallways.
"Their sons are always a nuisance to our school."
"What can we do about it? They're the greatest shareholders within the district."
"Ugh, I wish the elections would end already so that we wouldn't have to walk on eggshells anymore."
Before I could listen further into their conversation, Donghyuck slipped his hand delicately into mine and tugged me away to stop me from listening. I pouted my lips out with a clear depiction of being upset, and he bent his face down to whisper into my ear with a chuckle, "No need to listen about it nosypants."
I rolled my eyes in response and attempted to withdraw my hand from his grasp, and which he whined annoyingly and cutely to stop me. Jaemin groaned with annoyance as he glared at the both of us, "Both of you are really making me wonder why I decided to even hang out with you."
I scoffed back at him as I intertwined my fingers within Donghyuck's hand with a snappy reply, "We never really let you hang out with us in the first place."
Donghyuck laughed aloud at my response, which earned an intensely agitated facial expression from the basketball player. We all ended up laughing down the hallways as we reached our classroom, where I could see all the students staring out at us. The trio just awkwardly the classroom, as I could make out Jeno and Yeji already sitting inside the classroom. Within the distance, I saw two unidentified students who were actually shoving Jeno's shoulder.
Donghyuck let go of my hand quickly, walking briskly inside the classroom to stop the other two males from picking on Jeno more. I blinked quickly with disgust of why Donghyuck would help Jeno but Jaemin seemed to already have listened to my quiet thoughts as he spoke up quietly, "Their older brothers."
Turning my head back towards the four males, Jeno shoved Donghyuck out of the way as if to signal him to not intervene. But Donghyuck didn't seem to listen as he smiled brightly with his fake gleam as he said loudly with clear annoyance in his voice, "Hyungs~ What might have brought the loveliest siblings towards our classroom?"
The taller brother shoved Donghyuck out of the way, which made him fall onto the ground. His head towards me as if he was about to put on a show, which he did. He clutched onto his leg and whined with a loud voice, "AH! Help~ My hyung is too strong!"
"Shut the fuck up Donghyuck."
The other sibling groaned at his little stunt, as more whiispers were being voiced amongst the little scene that was playing out. Jeno remained silent the entire time, as one of the brothers grabbed a notebook that was resting onto the desk and slapped Jeno's forehead with it in agitation. Everyone, including me, gasped at the scene that was unfolding in which Yeji was screaming angrily, "Stop it Jaehyun oppa!"
"Stop intervening Doyoung's sister or else you're going to get it too."
Donghyuck stood back onto his feet, as Jaemin pulled me away from the door so that I wouldn't be seen. I was actually quite confused with this, but I could hear Donghyuck pleading against the brothers to stop bugging them and actually get out of the classrooms. Jaemin whispered as he continued to pull me away from the classroom, "I think it's best if you don't see how Donghyuck acts between his brothers and the group of classmates."
Jaemin continued to try and avert my attention away from the classroom, but it wasn't working at all. All that was clouding my mind was the worry that Donghyuck would get hurt in the process. However a few minutes later, the two male siblings made their way out of the classroom, with angry grunts and continuous profanity spit from their mouths. Jaemin drew close to me and placed his head at an angle at which they wouldn't notice us. He apologized in advance when he did so, where his face would be angled towards the side as if we were kissing from afar. It masked our identities as the brothers walked straight past us without glancing, and my hands trembled with nervousness when they did. Jaemin stared at my nose, as I stared at his neck without another; our breaths were in sync as we both could feel the nervousness rising.
He pulled back immediately when they disappeared down the hall, and Donghyuck made his way out of the classroom with worry as he stared at us both. I looked over at him with a small smile growing on my face as if it was to mask the nervousness that still was not settled within me. Jaemin sighed deeply when Donghyuck walked over to us; cold sweat could be seen from Donghyuck's forehead as he took my hand and held it close to his cheek as if it was to warm him up. Jaemin took a step back and watched down the halls in case someone might approach us standing outside.
Jeno soon appeared from behind him, shoving Jaemin out of the way as his backpack was latched onto his back. He glared at both of us; I couldn't stop myself from doing the same. His eyes looked at the both of us before he could see Donghyuck's hand intertwined with my fingers. He scoffed at the so-called scene that was displayed in front of him, as Yeji soon followed pursuit after him. "So the lovebirds and the basketball misfit are really making the hallways uncomfortable."
Yeji snuggly laughed at Jeno's snarly comment, as I turned to look at Donghyuck to ignore them, "Come on Donghyuck. You don't listen to their bullshit."
Before I managed to drag him out of the little group that Jeno formed, Yeji grabbed my arm to stop me from moving. Jaemin soon stood near me as well and grabbed Yeji's arm as if it was to signal her to let me go. She laughed with annoyance as she tilted her head with a taunt, "Why? Do you have feelings for this bitch too?"
Jaemin looked over at me before he also looked over at Donghyuck, who was in the middle of staring us and also trying to mentally beat up Jeno with his angered gaze. Jaemin sighed heavily as if the question was difficult to answer, "You really just annoy me to the guts Yeji. Why don't you go cry to Doyoung and realize that Jeno is just using you so that he wouldn't have to be alone and have an image of being the perfect president with a cheerleader girlfriend. Get a grip on life before you attack someone else."
He managed to tug Yeji's arm off of me, as he shoved her arm back in which she stumbled backward towards Jeno. Jeno rolled his eyes and held onto Yeji's waist to support her, as she placed her middle finger up at Jaemin. I tugged Donghyuck away from the two and walked right inside the classroom which made the situation worse.
The dozens of pairs of eyes stared at us with the most judgemental expressions painted on their faces. I ignored them immediately as I made my way towards Jess, who was reading a novel in the midst of this madness. I made Donghyuck behind Jess, and I soon sat next to him so that I wouldn't have to deal with more whispers and gossips being spread around. Jess, who turned around to face me as she managed to get her eyes off her novel, and I blurted out loudly to answer the question that probably was written on her face, "Yes. I will Jess. And I want Donghyuck there too."
