The few weeks of school was pretty chill as I got to get around with people. The hallways were somewhat inviting to the nest of cliques. I didn't find much friends, but one person got the courage to help me whenever I needed it. Son Yeji. Tall, pretty, skinny, and also very popular among the crowds of students as she was the head cheerleader. But despite her fame, she always managed to smile and never tried to harm me in any way like those drastically written teenage high school movies.
Some were totally intrigued with my bleached under hair. I got comfortable with unbuttoning my uniform blouse, and preferred wearing a black shirt under. Yeji always scolded me whenever my foot stepped onto the platforms of the school. The teachers got tired of chasing after me with the way I wore my blouse. Also, I would keep my hair short since it would be hard to maintain.
Out of the 109 students in our grade, I can't seem to find the solution of figuring out these three: Jess, Jeno....and Donghyuck.
Especially Donghyuck.
He masked his darkness perfectly with his comedic shows.
Ugh. It was so annoying.
Lunch time ended, and study hall began for us. I fiddled with my pencil continuously, grunting at the continuous math problems I needed to get done. Jeno, who was sitting next to me, watched my every move and seemed to try to strike a conversation. However, I wouldn't let him as I found annoying whenever he looked over my shoulder. Suddenly, someone bursted into the room, shouting, "Donghyuck is fighting someone!"
Everyone widened their eyes and rose to their feet as if the announcement was as important as seeing Kpop stars. I glanced over at Jeno, who had his knuckles clenched tightly where you would see his veins popping. He was mouthing cuss words to himself, something that I have never seen.
"Where's the fight?"
-
"FUCKING BITCH."
The two boys were arguing and fighting each other as they were making incoherent comments at each other. They were fighting in front of the staircases where the teachers wouldn't visit. Rumors and cheers spread fast, and some even gambled for bets on who might win.
There were gasps and hollers as Donghyuck attacked one of the boys from the basketball team. Kang Jaemin. A tall, annoying point guard from the school's basketball team. Donghyuck was on top of him, punching the lights out of him. Jeno ran towards the scene, prying Donghyuck off of Jaemin. Donghyuck screamed in anger, "LET ME GO. THAT BITCH DESERVES TO DIE."
Everyone else, including me, arrived to the scene immediately. I watched as Jeno murmured something into Donghyuck's ear, as Jaemin laughed with blood on the side of his lips. Yeji approached me and whispered in a shocked tone, "What's going on?"
I shook my head in response as I, myself, didn't know what was happening. We both watched quietly as Jeno then turned to everyone, dismissing them from the scene as he used his somewhat authority to not allow them to continue watching the fight. Yeji tried to tug my arm, signaling me to follow after her. But I urged her to go first, as I told her that I was planning to leave after I witness everything. Her ponytail bounced as she nodded, hurriedly heading over to the classrooms as the fight scene behind me was getting more aggressive.
I saw Jess standing on other side of the crowd, twirling with her hair and crosses her arms together as if she was the referee of this wild battle. She smirked softly at the scene before walking away with the others. When I was the only one, I wanted to see hat was happening between these not-known troublemakers. Hiding behind a pole, I watched as Jaemin stood up and dusted off his clothing. He scoffed cockily, fixing his brown hair in amusement.
Then I witnessed something that I've been so curious about. When Donghyuck backed up from Jeno, it seemed as if the class president turned into someone that no one have ever imagined. Jeno switched into a different person; he suddenly grabbed Jaemin's collar and tugged him close in fury. "Why fuck do you never grow up Jaemin?!"
Jaemin pushed Jeno away from him, glaring angrily at him. "You think you're all that. Everyone thinks you're a good boy. But really, I know your real side, and how fucking psycho you are."
Donghyuck glanced over at Jeno before pushing Jaemin towards the wall, as he grunted in anger. He was about to punch him again but Jaemin taunted him,"Ha, Donghyuck. You really are a confusing one. One day you're against him. The next day you're on his side. Another day, you guys seem to make out. What's your real side?"
I widened my eyes as I heard Jaemin speak about Jeno's and Donghyuck's so-called relationship. Are they—
"I know your dirty fucking secret of how you guys made out in freshman year. And you act all innocent and clean."
I gasped loudly without knowing, to the point where Donghyuck looked over at me. His eyes widened when he saw my figure hiding behind the pole. Everything seemed to freeze right when he did, and he didn't know how to react. The others didn't notice as Jeno punched Jaemin, to the point that Jaemin had fought back. But Donghyuck didn't stop them, and his eyes made his way towards me. Staring quietly at me. His eyes formed into darker orbs, giving off a creepy stance. I moved behind the pole as I tried to escape him staring at me.
Was their secret...about them being gay?
This would have been the hit gossip news of the school. It probably would have made it into headlines of newspapers. The famous class clown...and the class president. In a relationship? I looked up to see Donghyuck making his way towards me. But before I could make a run for it, there was a loud shout from the other end of the hallway, "Han Ryujin, Lee Jeno, Kang Jaemin, and Hwang Donghyuck. Follow me immediately!"
