((Y/N)'s POV)

Last night was sleepless. I can't stop thinking about what happened yesterday at my 'interview' with the king and queen. Everything happened so fast and now....

Well, at least I got the recommendation that I wanted. I can check that out of my bucket list. Although, I still have a weird feeling about yesterday when the king said that he had something to discuss with me, personally.

But nah, I'm too happy to care for that at the moment! All I have to do to keep my recommendation is to teach a class. How hard could that be, right?

Right now, here I am, standing at the gates of the Royal Sakuraka High School, which has the same institution as the Royal Sakuraka University, my school. And also, Rika is attending this school, if I'm not mistaken. If she sees me here, she might go nuts, especially if she knows that I'll be teaching here. Well, it's not like I'll be teaching her anyways.

Okay then, here it goes. Let's just go in. The king specifically told me to come after school hours. I can see the students going out the buildings since its time for them to go home.

For now, I need to find the auditorium. But as I was walking towards a corner, someone bumped into me and I fell down.

"I'm very sorry!!! Are you okay?!!!" Was the only thing I can hear. It sounds like a girl's voice.

(That's like the best picture I can find)

"Shuu-kun?! Sorry for bumping into you!" She then took my hand and helped me get up.

Wait, what did she just call me?

"And what are you wearing?"

Oh yeah, I'm wearing a suit right now. The king told me to look nice for today. And speaking of which, now it's all ragged up after that fall.

"Geez, you should look at where you're going."

"Shuu-kun, I apologized didn't I?" She then walked over towards me.

"Who's Shuu? I think you got the wrong person here, miss. You need to pay more attention to what's around you." She only looked at me a bit confused. After looking a bit closer, she finally realized.

"E-Eh?! I'm very sorry! You look almost exactly like my little brother." I can only sigh.

"It's fine. You're a student here, right? Can you tell me where the auditorium is?"

"What a coincidence, I'm going there as well. I'll show you the way. It's the least I can do." She seems pretty guilty about what she did. I feel kind of bad now.

"Well, thank you then." And so, we head into the main school building. While on the way, I keep catching her glancing at me. After a few times, I decided to ask why she's doing that.

"Um... is there something on my face, miss?" I can see her flustered a bit when she found out that I've been noticing what she's been doing.

"I-I'm sorry! It's just that you look exactly like my brother. I was just wondering about that."

Do we really look that much alike? I wonder who this "Shuu" guy is?

"Um... you're not a student here, are you?" She asked.

"Well... yes, but actually no. You see, I attend the Royal Sakuraka University, not the high school."

"Then why are you here?"

Hmm... am I allowed to tell other people about what I'm doing? Nah, I won't risk anything.

"Uh... I'm here to meet someone."

Yup, that should do it.

"Oh, I hope you find whoever it is you're looking for. Here's the auditorium." But before we can enter...

"Aoi! You're awfully late. What have you been doing?" We heard someone's voice. It's familiar...

Wait, the king?!?! He didn't tell me that he'll be here. And as soon as he noticed me, he cheered.

"Ah! (Y/N)-kun!!! You're also here! We've been waiting for you!"

He then walked over to us. The girl next to me, the one that the king called Aoi, she just looked confused, to say the least.

"Eh? You know my father?"

Wait... did she just say father?

"W-Wait! He's your father?!" She nodded at that. Oh my god, did I just scold a royalty back then? I'm supposed to be her teacher to keep my recommendation, but my first impression is a total mess. I'm dead...

"Princess, your majesty! I apologize for my rude behavior to you!" I practically begged for her forgiveness as she just stood there confused.

"E-Eh? I-It's fine, really! It was my fault anyways. And besides, it's refreshing for someone to scold me like that." She said with a warm smile. What a goddess!!!

"I humbly thank you for your kindness, princess." She only chuckled at what I said.

"Um... I don't know what's going on, but we should go inside. The others are waiting." Said the king.

"Y-Yes, your majesty." And so, we all went inside. It would seem that many people have been waiting for us. I can see eight people in here. Together with Princess Aoi, they must be the nine Sakurada heirs.

"Everyone, listen up!" The king suddenly declared as everyone turned their attention to him.

"There's someone I'd like you all to meet." He then signaled me to come forward. "Come on, go ahead and introduce yourself."

"It's a pleasure to meet all of you, princes and princesses. My name is (Y/N) (L/N)." Their first reaction to that was, expectedly, shock and confusion.

"He will be your teacher and personal tutor for the duration of the royal election. I hope that with his help, all of you can become even better candidates." I can see mixed reactions from the nine children. Some were reluctant, the rest are either confused or don't really care.

"Any questions?" The first to raise her hand was the girl with the short black hair.

"Why does he look exactly like Shuu-chan?"

Of course, I can't say I didn't expect that question.

"Oh, look at the time, I have to go and do some king stuff. Goodbye, my lovely kids! (Y/N)-kun will answer your questions in my stead!" With that, he leapt and went for the door, disappearing in a second and leaving me to this weird situation. That bastard of a king!!!

"Um... any other questions?" Was the only thing I could think of at the moment. They just sat there, staring at me. This is awkward...

Oooh, I have an Idea to break the ice.

"Why don't we all start by introducing ourselves? You all know my name, so it's your turn. And also, can you give me a reason why you want to be king while you're at it." They all just looked at each other, unsure of how to respond. That is until Princess Aoi stood up.

"Come on, we shouldn't make this harder for him. Let me start."

"Thank you, Aoi-sama." She then smiled.

"You're welcome. And please, just call me Aoi."

"Sure thing, Aoi. And uh... your reason to be king?" She then scratched her head, looking at me innocently.

"Um... I just want what's best for this country, I guess." She then laughs nervously before sitting down again.

What kind of answer is that? Does she not want to be king? I should just be positive and hope that she'll have a better answer one day.

The next to stand was a guy that looks eerily similar to me, probably the Shuu that everyone's been telling me.

Holy hell, he does look a lot like me. If I have to say, the only difference is probably that my hair is a bit darker.

"I'm Shuu, nice to meet you. Kanade is right, we look exactly alike!"

"Yup, what a coincidence. It's like looking at a mirror." He then laughed as we shook hands.

"I look forward to working with you. We can go and sabotage Kanade together!" I can only laugh in confusion.

The black haired girl then sighed and stood up.

(Why is it so hard to find some damn good pictures?!)

"I'm Kanade, the third eldest of my siblings. And as for being king, I have a personal goal to achieve and I don't need your help to win."

Ah, the arrogant one. She's going to be hard to deal with, I just know it.

"Becoming a king for a personal goal, I sure hope that it would benefit this kingdom as well."

"Hmph." She then sat back down. Hmm... now I'm tempted to help Shuu sabotage her.

"E-Eh?! M-My turn already?!" I can see a red haired girl hiding behind one of the chairs.

What's wrong with her? Is she really that nervous?

"Akane, just try to think of him as Shuu-kun. Now go introduce yourself." Wow, Aoi to the rescue again. What a reliable person.

"O-Okay... m-m-my name is Aka- I-I can't!!!" And now she's hiding behind Aoi's back. How can there be a person this shy in the world?

"Um... Akane-sama, right? I can see that you're a bit shy, but don't worry, you can trust me. I'm here to help you in your campaign as best as I can."

Well, I said that as gentle as possible. It's like I'm talking to a small child.

"o-okay..." was the only answer I got. At least she's slowly coming out of hiding.

"So, why do you want to be king?" I said with the gentlest smile I can give.

"u-um.. I-I just... want to get rid of the cameras..."

I... don't know what to say...

"d-d-don't l-look at me with such a pitiful expression like that!!!! I-I know that its dumb!!!" She then ran away, crying with Aoi chasing her.

"Um... what just happened?"

"Don't worry, Akane-neesan is just like that." Said a dangerously feminine looking guy with purple hair.

Wait, that's a dude right?

"That aside, I'm Haruka. It seems that you will be our tutor, I will be in your care."

"Ah, likewise, Haruka-sama."

"Just Haruka is fine. May I ask how old are you? It's just that you seem awfully young to be a teacher."

"Ah, I get that a lot. I'm currently eighteen years old, but make no mistake, I am qualified. I've been a student in the Royal Sakuraka University for more than two years now." He was quite shocked by that.

"That's quite impressive. I'll be in your care, then." With that we shook hands.

"So you're smart, huh?" A pink haired girl suddenly appeared behind Haruka.

"So what, it's not like I'll ever have a chance to he king, even with your help."

Wow, such pessimism... at least she's being a realist about all this.

"This is an election, your majesty. Everyone has a chance, even you. And to maximize that chance, I'll support you with the best I can." She seems to not expect such an answer as she stayed silent for a while.

"U-um... w-well then, I guess I'll let you help me."

Well, that was easy. I've been dealing with kids since I was back at the orphanage. Just praise them and they'll cheer up. I miss that place...

"H-Hey! I-I told you that you can help me, and you're just ignoring me?!"

Huh? I guess I was thinking about the past...

"S-Sorry, your majesty. I look forward to be working with you."

"Misaki..."

"Uh... pardon?"

"Misaki... if you're calling Haruka by his name, then just call me Misaki too..."

Wow, I think that worked too well. They're already opening up to me. Although, I've been getting some stares from the others.

"Uh.. of course, Misaki. Now, can you tell me why you want to be king?" She only scratched her head after hearing my question.

"Well.. I never really thought about it."

Ah, just as I expected....

"No worries. We'll just have to figure it out."

"My turn! My turn!" Out of nowhere, I can feel someone pulling my hand from behind.

"Hehe, I'm Hikari! When I become king, I'll be the most popular person in the world!"

Ah, such innocent thoughts... cute. Of course she will never win the election.

"I can see that you're very confident." She then laughs cockily.

"Of course! When the people see my womanly charms, they will definitely choose me!"

Too innocent... she can't survive the political world.

"Aren't you a bit too young for that though?" Once again, she laughed.

"You'll see..."

"Um... okay?"

Man, this is tiring. Two more to go. But where are they?

"Hey! Down here!"

"My name is Teru! I want to become king so that I can use my power to protect this country!" Said the boy.

These kids are just too cute to be king.

"Well that's nice. What about you?" The little girl seems to be thinking.

"I'm just going to be his campaign secretary." She said with a straight face. I've never seen a little kid as mature as her. She's even more mature than some of her older siblings.

"Oh, is that so? Then let's try our best together."

Finally, that's all of them.

"So, why don't we start today's lesson, shall we?"

Timeskip an eternity

Finally! It's over. I spent about two hours to see just how much they understand about the country that they will potentially inherit. And just as I thought, they're not even close to being ready.

I can only sigh thinking about what will happen to this country in the future.

Wait... isn't this a chance? I'm tutoring the candidates for the future leader of this country. Doesn't this mean that I can influence them to change this country?

This is my chance to fulfill my promise...

*Ring*

Hmm... my phone's ringing. Who could it be?

"Hello?"

"Ah, (Y/N)-kun. How's your first day?" It's the king.

"Very insightful, your majesty." He just chuckled at that.

"So, what do you think about the candidates?"

What should I tell him?

"They're... quite excited for the election."

"You have permission to be brutally honest with me." He suddenly said.

"Most of them aren't fit to be king. The most qualified out of them all doesn't even want to be king."

"Hmm... you're talking about Aoi. How do you know that she doesn't want to be king?"

"I can see it in her eyes. There must be a reason." He then laughed a bit.

"I can see that I made the right decision to have you tutor them. You're the right person for this job."

"Thank you, your majesty."

"Okay then, don't go anywhere. I'll go pick you up."

"Pick me up? What do you mean?"

"We're going to my house, of course! I've sent the royal guards to pick up your things at your apartment."

"Um... what?"

"You'll be living with us from now on."

What the hell have I gotten myself into? This was supposed to be for my recommendation, but now I guess it's bigger than that...

I can finally help change this country...
