"(F/N), no fair! That's cheating!" Little Souma shouted.

"No it's not! You're just angry that you lost again!" Little (F/N) said as she stuck her tongue out at him.

The two were neighbors and very close childhood friends who shared the same dream.

"Someday, I want to be that famous person who voices everyone's favorite character!"

Souma and (F/N) often meet up during lunch or after school. That was how they did things back then. They spent almost all their free time talking to each other.

But when high school came, an opportunity for one of them struck out. An opportunity that would change things between them.

"This is great news, Souma! You have to take the job!" (F/N) exclaimed.

"But I didn't even audition or send a recording to this company!" He said.

"Maybe they just wanted to recruit you themselves." (F/N) said.

"I don't know, (F/N). What about you? I can't just leave you." He said.

"It's alright, Souma. I'll be fine." She reassured.

Years passed and (F/N) became a working woman. She took many part-time jobs such as a salesperson and a waitress. As for Souma, he's become a well-known voice actor.

(F/N) was happy for him, but somehow she was really hurt. Souma never contacted her ever since he went to Tokyo. (F/N) was actually the one who applied for Souma. She secretly recorded one of his private time voice acting sessions and sent it to 81 Produce.

She kept in touch with the company. There, she knew that Souma had finally achieved his dream.

The company's director then saw potential in her. Though [he/she] only knew her by stories of the staff. [He/She] thought that (F/N) had a great talent and personality.

So she was offered a job.

"I'm going to be the personal assistant of a famous voice actor?" She asked.

"Yes. The director heard a lot of good things about you and he wanted to give you a lift on your early working days." A staff spoke.

"Really? That's amazing." She said.

"So is it a yes?" The staff asked.

"Of course. I won't let [him/her] down." She replied.

"Great. We'll provide what you need to get here. You'll start next week." He said.

"Thank you." She replied.

(F/N)'s PoV

I wonder if Souma is the famous voice actor that they're talking about. They seemed like they were rushing so I didn't bother to ask who the voice actor was.

The next day, I immediately headed to Tokyo. I lived at Osaka so it wasn't too much of a drag to go there.

I was both nervous and excited. I was excited because even if I don't get to be Souma's PA, I can at least visit him. I was nervous because it could be some veteran voice actor.

When I arrived, I settled into my own apartment. It took a while, but I was able to get used to the city for the while being.

Then, it finally came. The day I had to go to the agency. I was standing outside, in front of the building, as nervous as I ever was.

I silently entered the building and went to my designated meeting room. I knocked on the door before I opened it and entered.

"Nice to meet you!— Souma?" I asked as I saw that he was the only one in the room.

He's definitely become a great person for the past years he's been away. I can see from how he looks.

"Uhm, do I know you?" He asked.

I was speechless. He didn't remember me. After all I've done for him, he repays me by forgetting about me and living the absolute rich life? And I thought I'd give him a second chance for not talking to me after years and years of trying to contact him.

I quickly gained my composure and acted the way I would to a stranger.

"No, and I don't know you either. I apologize. You seem to look like a friend of mine." I said.

"Ah, it's okay. Really? I do? Maybe I know this guy." He said.

"I'm sorry, but I don't think you do." I said.

"Well, anyways. I look forward to working with you." He said as he reached his hand out.

"I look forward to working with you as well." I said as I shook his hand.

"Well, I have to go. It was nice meeting you!" He bid with a smile.

I then waved back with a half-hearted smile.

To think, that I thought he and I had something..

I guess that something.. was actually just nothing to him.
