Masuda's PoV

"Take care, Masuda-san." Souma said.

"You better not be lying when you told me that you're not going back to your hometown because you have a girlfriend there." Irino-san said.

"Masuda-san, stay safe." Kaito said.

"Massu, you better not be lying to us." Murase-san said.

"Thank you, everyone. And no, I'm not lying, Irino-san, Murase-san." I replied.

"Have a safe and fun vacation." Hosoya-san bid as I waved at them before I got on the train.

The trip took a good 10 hours. It was about nine in the morning when I arrived at Hiroshima. I left Tokyo by 12 am since I had to finish all my work before I relax for my summer hiatus.

"Aaahhh~! So where should I have breakfast?" I asked myself as I walked around the streets.

I haven't been back here since about three or four years ago. The atmosphere is still the same, but all the places are different now.

"Onee-san, can we have another fried yakisoba?" I heard a teenage boy say.

"And another chive flavored?" Another teenage boy spoke.

"Anything for my regular, ladies." A girl replied.

I smelled some good okonomiyaki a few blocks away. As I walked closer, I saw that a lot of people surrounded the small cart.

"Miss, another serving of takoyaki please!" A man requested.

"Sure thing!" The girl replied again.

The small area was pretty lively and I could see that all the people enjoyed being there.

"Hey, Toshiki! Is that really you?!?" Someone called from the small area.

"Hey, [Random friend of Masuda's from his hometown], it's been a while!" I greeted.

"Yes it has! Come here! Let's eat! This girl cooks better than my mother!"

My friend was referring to the girl who was cooking and serving all the food. I had to admit, she was really good at her job. I couldn't pull of standing up a cart and attending to all my customers on my own.

"(Nickname), this is Toshiki. A good friend of mine. He lives in Tokyo." My friend introduced me to the girl.

"Uhm, hi. I'm Masuda Toshiki." I greeted.

"I'm (L/N) (F/N)." She greeted back.

"Onee-san, thank you for the food. Please keep the change." Some students behind us said as they paid her for their meal.

"Sure thing. Thanks! Study well, students!" She bid.

"You seem really popular." I said.

"I only seem so since I'm like the town hero here." She replied.

"Town hero?" I asked.

"Yeah. (L/N) is known for helping everyone here. She really saves the day." My friend said.

"Hold this for a second." (L/N) said as she handed me her okonomiyaki flipper then ran after some guy.

"Get back here, you rascal!" She yelled then pulled his arm and stepped on his back.

"Ow!"

"Come back here and I'll step all the way through your back next time." She said then grabbed something from the guy then walked back.

She then walked back, facing me with a serious look.

"Next time, put your phone inside you bag. Not in your back pocket." She said then handed me my phone.

"Wait, what?" I checked my pockets and discovered that it really was my phone.

"Thanks." I said as I accepted it.

"Tch. Men are so troublesome." She said.

"Excuse me?" I asked for clarification.

"(L/N) thinks lowly of guys." My friend explained.

"(L/N) hates guys?" I asked.

"No, I just think lowly of them. You guys are like so weak and so unreliable. I prefer to be dependent instead of counting on you guys." She said.

"What if I can prove you wrong?" I asked.

"What?" She asked.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" I asked.

"Just once, why?"

"... date me. I'll prove to you that men can be dependable. If I can't prove myself, I'll go back to Tokyo the next morning after you reject my conclusion." I said.

"Hey, Toshiki! You haven't been here in so long and you're betting your vacation for a girl—"

"Deal." She said.

"Yeah! Wait. What!?" My friend said.

"I'll have two chive flavored okonomiyakis and one yakisoba." I said with a smirk.

After having breakfast, I gave (L/N) one last note.

"Well, thanks for the meal.. and P.S. I won't be at fault if you fall for me." I said with a smirk before leaving.

I was glad. I didn't expect that coming back here would be an interesting return.
