Two years later...

"So you're saying there's a child inside (F/N)-nee?"

"Yes.." Souma answered as he wiped his sweat.

"When's it coming out?"

"In a few months.." he replied.

"Uncle Souma, you're crazy. You're telling me there's a little you inside (F/N)-nee? I don't understand."

"Now, now, sweetie. Uncle Souma is a little crazy, but what he's saying is true. Now go play in your bedroom. The adults have to talk now." Souma's older sister said as she bid her daughter off.

Souma then sat on the couch next to me and took a sigh of relief.

"You seem real stressed for someone who's gonna be a father." I teased with a small laugh.

Today, Souma and I visited his sister and her family for the first time. We got married in America, but told no one. We kinda panicked after that, but tried to shrug it off. Then we couldn't avoid the topic now because I just found out a couple of months ago that I'll be bearing a child. There was no one else we trusted better. And here we are now.

"This thing better be worth it." He said as he gently caressed my currently large stomach.

"So, let's talk real business." Souma's brother-in-law said as he sat on a chair across us.

Souma and I looked at him confusingly.

"Souma, have you even told mom and dad that you're married?" Souma's sister asked with a stern tone.

"Well.. no." He answered.

"Have you ever even called them and told them about you and (F/N)?" She asked.

"No." Souma said.

"But I think they know that we're in a relationship. A few of our close high school friends told my brother so I'm sure the news reached my parents." I said.

"What about our parents?" She asked.

"I'm sure they know as well since my parents and yours and very close." I replied.

Souma's sister sighed.

"Alright. Here's what you need to do. Go back to Osaka and just tell them. Mother-in-law will freak if she hears it from us." Souma's brother-in-law advised.

"Can we do that after the child is born? It's scary letting a pregnant lady on the train." Souma said.

"I'll give you within the year. If both your parents still don't know, I will rip both your heads off your bodies. Understood?" She asked.

"Y-Yes, [Souma's older sister's name]-nee.."

We then drove back home to our house. Yes, we finally bought a house. His apartment is now being used by his friends who love partying.

"(F/N)?" Souma called.

"Yeah?"

"Just in case I die by the hands of my own mom, I'd just like to say that I love you and our child. I'll take care of you two til my last breath."

I pinched his nose.

"You're overreacting. Just drive. I'm hungry." I said.

"Alright, alright. Why don't we eat out first?" He asked.

"Fine." I replied.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we met an unexpected guest.

"[younger brother's name]?!?!"

As we were silently eating, my younger brother stared at us.

"Souma-nii, I expected better from you. I didn't think it would end up like this." My younger brother said.

"Sorry.." Souma said.

"No, I expected that you guys would've at least had a child last year and this would be the second one. But hearing that this is the first, I'm disappointed as hell." He said.

"Says you who doesn't even have a girlfriend yet." I spat.

"Touché, sister." He said.

Actually, talking to my little brother is useless, but it was good to see him again.

After lunch, we parted ways. Souma and I drove back to our house while he took the subway back to his apartment here at Tokyo.

I then calmly looked at Souma as he was driving. I could tell that he was having a hard time ever since the day started.

"Souma?" I called.

"Yeah?"

"Whatever happens from now on, will be on us. It's not your fault, it's ours." I said.

He sighed then laughed.

"This is what I love about you (F/N). You always share my burdens. You're crazy, but I wouldn't mind spending my whole life with you." He said then held my hand tightly.

At that moment, I knew that I was no longer living in my dark and lonely word. I was living in a new one with him as the best chapter in my life.

I stepped out of the shade, and called out your name.
You reached out and smiled at me with a light as bright as a flame.
