Two years later...

(F/N)'s PoV

RING RING RING RING RING RING

I woke up to my phone that rang nonstop. I sleepily answered.

"Hello, this is (L/N)-"

"HEY, HEY. HE'S AT THE STUDIO. GET YOUR SURPRISE READY. [CHILD'S NAME] IS AT MAENO'S PLACE. WORK IT, WORK IT, WORK IT!" Kakki-san yelled then hung up.

"Oh crap I almost forgot it's his birthday." I said before practically "jumping" out of bed and into the bathroom to hurry and start the day.

After taking a bath then eating breakfast and cleaning up the kitchen, the doorbell rang.

"Whoo, looks like I'm just in time." I said as I rushed to open the door.

"'Morning, ladies. Thanks for coming over today." I greeted as I let the two in.

"Good morning, (F/N)-san. Pardon the intrusion. No problem, anything for you, (F/N)-san." Sumire said with a grin.

"Pleasant morning, (F/N)-chan. Thank you for having us. We've always got your back." Kaori-san replied with a smile.

"Thank you, girls. Now, shall we start planning the evening?" I asked as I sat down on the sofa and grabbed a pencil.

"Let's do it."

So after some organizing for later tonight, we started preparing the special cake that we have in store for the birthday boy.

"Sumire-chan, do you have the recipe?" I asked.

"Mhm. I've analyzed it last night and it's easy to alter so it won't be a problem to change a few things." She replied as she handed me the recipe.

"(F/N), calm down. We'll finish this in time." Kaori-san said as she placed her hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah, we can do this, (F/N)-san." Sumire-chan said.

"Haha, is it that noticeable that I'm really worried.. hehe. Thanks, girls. Now let's get to work!"

"Ou! Hey, (F/N)-san, can you hand me that bowl?" Sumire-chan said.

"Here. Kaori-san, can you pass me the sugar?" I handed Sumire then asked Kaori-san.

"Here you go. Should I start with the frosting?" She asked as she handed me the box.

"Yes, please!"

"Phew! We're finally done." Sumire-chan said as she wiped her sweat.

"Yeah. It's about time we head to the venue. It's already 4. Invitations said to be there at 7. We gotta hurry." Kaori-san said.

"Then let's get ourselves ready then get everything inside the car, stat." I said as I grabbed some cosmetics to start off.

"Alright."

We finished getting ready and getting everything inside the car by about 5:30 then hurried to the location to set up the surprise.

"Shouldn't we call someone to make sure we have help there?" Kaori-san asked.

"Sumire, can you call Kakki-san? Here." I said as I handed her my phone.

"Sure. Ah, (F/N)-san, the passcode-"

"Mark the date." I replied as I speeded my driving a bit.

"Yo, (F/N)!" Kakki-san waved inside the dining hall.

"Kakki-san, you were extremely annoying this morning, but thanks." I said.

"No problem! Terashii and the others will be here soon! Maeno-san and the others are having a pretty hard time stalling him though." He said as he laughed a bit while scratching the back of his neck.

"Who do mean 'others'? Who's with Terashima-san? Who's with Maeno-san?" I asked.

"Terashii is with Satomi-chan, Suzumura-san, and Hirakawa-san. With Maeno-san is Tori-san, Souma, and Kaji-kun." He replied.

"Eh? Then what about the others? Kon-san, Namikawa-san, uhm.. Murase-kun? Didn't we send out a lot of invitations?" I asked.

"Hello, we're right here." Someone said.

I turned around to see that almost all the guests have already arrived.

"Oh, wow, uh, uhm, yeah. Hi.." I said as I waved at all the people.

"Hey, (F/N)-san."

"Oh, hey, Miyu." I greeted.

"Kamiya-san will be running late today so would you mind performing with me?" He asked.

"E-E-E-E—EH?!?!? But I don't sing!" I replied.

"You mean you don't usually do." He said.

"Eh but-"

"We just prepared one song." He said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Reason."

"Seriously?!? That it's-hard-to-catch-your-breath-song?!?" I asked.

"Come on, (F/N)-san! It's his birthday after all~"

"Fine." I said.

"Okay! Now let's start setting this place up! We have one hour before Nobu-san arrives!"

"Then let's get to work!"

"Ou!"

After we were done preparing, we closed the lights and hid until Maeno-san and the others would arrive. Gosh, I was so nervous. This wasn't the first time, nor the second, nor the third time I was going to pull a surprise for his birthday. I've done this like every year, but I don't know. The feeling today is different. It's more nervous and exciting than ever but more on nervous at the moment.

"Hey, you're shaking, stupid." Kakki-san suddenly whispered.

"E-Eh? How can you tell? It's so dark." I whispered back.

"So my guess was right." He whispered.

"So what?" I asked in a soft tone.

"Just relax. Just imagine as if this was one of your dates or something. You're patiently waiting for him to arrive, and when he arrives you'll greet him with a big grin, then he'll smile back and start the conversation. Imagine a typical scenario from your everyday life with him."

"Oh, great, now I feel even more nervous. How can I imagine something extraordinary as a regular thing? This surprise is special, none like the other. I've done this multiple times without your help even." I whispered in a sharp tone.

"Yes, now that's why you should just relax. Calm down." He said.

"Okay."

"Maeno-san, just where are we?"

"Looks like the devil has just arrived." Kakki-san whispered then shut up for good.

I then sneakily reached for the light switch and gave Maeno-san a thumbs up which he responded with a nod.

"Just you wait. Okay, you can take off your blindfold now." Maeno-san told him.

"1, 2,— HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOBU/NOBU-SAN/PIKORIN/OKAMATO-KUN/OKAMOTO/MOTO-KUN!" We all greeted.

"Papa, happy birthday!"

"[C-Child's name]?!? What are doing there?" I asked as I walked over to [him/her]. [He/she] was behind Maeno-san.

"Uncle Masuda go somewhere so I follow Uncle Maeno." [He/she] replied.

"Went somewhere?" I questioned.

"Ah, Masuda went to park the car so I told [child's name] to follow me." Maeno-san replied.

"Then why does [he /she] think Toshiki got lost?" I asked.

"Ah that's because I told him that, halfway into the hall, since he was looking for Masuda and was stubborn to take 'he just went somewhere' for an answer." He replied.

"Maeno-san, you are such a bully. Even to my child." I said.

"If not for me and Kakki, you would have no child, peasant!" He said.

"Are you seriously trying to RP with me right now?" I asked then everyone laughed.

"Haha! Anyways, let's get this birthday party started!" Kakki-san said as he distracted the crowd by singing 'My Life My Time'.

"Hey, (F/N)."

"Oh, hey, Nobu. Presents are over there. You can open them later if you want, or you can open them at home. We've made schedule plans so if anything changes, we'll be ready to handle i—"

He then cut me off with a kiss then grinned cheekily.

"Thank you." He said with a smile.

"Stupid, you could've saved that for later." I said with a blush.

"I have more for later." He said with a wink.

"Gosh, pervert." I said as I hit his chest then walked past him.

After Kakki-san sung, the buffet area was finally set up so everybody started eating. Thank goodness, Kamiya-san came just in time. I DIDN'T HAVE TO SING. YES!

Toshiki also came back from the parking lot which he had a hard time finding an open slot from. He received a good sermon from me after greeting all the guests.

Kakki-san and Maeno-san were still thinking of which songs they would sing after dinner.

"Dude, just sing 'Pride'. Isn't that your duet with each other?" I asked.

"Oh yeah. That would do. Thanks, (F/N)." Kakki-san said.

"Don't sing slow songs, okay? This is a party. It's a birthday party. Go with upbeat. Kimiiro smile, hello sekai, gosh, you're not children, why are you having a hard time!?" I asked.

"Okay, okay. Let's do this. Thanks, (F/N)."

So after dinner, there were a few song numbers then it was finally time to open presents.

I'm not sure what happened then, but people were laughing and crying. So I guess it was funny but emotional? Or they just wanted to cry out some memories that have past? Things that became different? It was really vague. I couldn't tell what was going on, but as long as Nobu was happy, I suppose it was alright.

Finally after opening presents, we set up the cake in the middle of the room. Of course we sing before he blew out the candles.

We then left Nobu in the corner eating his beloved cake as we handed out the giveaways, which were the frosted cookies that we made earlier this morning.

"Thank you for coming! Thank you for coming!" Kaori-san, Sumire, and I bid the guests as we gave them the cookie boxes.

"You were lucky, ey, (F/N)-san?" Miyu teased.

"Go home, Miyu." I said with a laugh as I pushed his cookie box to him.

"Hey, (F/N), Maeno-san and I will start cleaning up so we can all go home early." Kakki-san said.

"Sure. Thanks a lot, you two." I said with a smile.

"Anything for you, (F/N)." Maeno-san said then the two started cleaning up a bit.

So after handing out all the giveaways, bidding goodbye to all the guests, and cleaning up the hall, we all went our separate ways—thank yous and goodbyes included.

When Nobu and I arrived at home, we put [child's name] in bed first. Then talkeda bit.

"So I was dragged out of the house at 6:30 am,.. for this.." he said.

"Well, yeah. Pretty much." I answered.

"Darn, aren't you tired from all that baking? You three baked a cake and a bunch of cookies all day. You must be exhausted." He said.

"Well, yes. I am." I said as I laid down on the bed.

"Then go to sleep." He said with a laugh.

"Okay." I said.

"Thanks for today, (F/N)... no, thanks for everything, for being with me all these years, for always supporting me even as we were just acquaintances, everything up til now, I thank you for that. I love you, (F/N). Good night." He said then kissed my forehead.

This was one tiring day, but it was most definitely, absolutely... worth it.
