(F/N)'s PoV

So it's been a month since Masuda and I started having a better and more organized schedule. We meet up every Tuesdays and Thursdays then the weekends are free for dates and outings.

These days I couldn't help but think about whatI told Masuda on our first meeting.

"Have you ever had a boyfriend?" He asked.

"Just once, why?"

Gosh. Does he still remember that? And— oh yeah I think he knows about the accident that I had. Damn I really hope he doesn't remember.

But wait! That's not right. It wouldn't be a healthy relationship if I lied to him. Then again, he never asked or brought it up or showed any sign that he remembers what I said before.

AH WHY IS THIS SO HARD?!?

As I was worrying about things like that at home, my phone suddenly rang.

"Uhm hello?"

"Uh hey,.. I have something to tell you."

It was Masuda. Welp I guess I should tell him too.

"Me too." I replied.

"Can we meet up first? I want to tell you in person." He requested.

"Sure, I'd like that." I replied.

"So uhm, you wanted to tell me something?" He asked.

We were at the park, walking, enjoying the night breeze.

"Yeah but you can go first." I said.

"Uhm okay. I actually have to go back to Japan in a week."

I suddenly stopped in my tracks. Did he just say that?

"Ah I see." I replied then started walking again so he wouldn't notice how shocked I was.

"My hiatus has already taken so long so I have to go back to work again." He said.

"Ohh then you should get lots of rest before you go since you'll be so drained everyday when you're back in Tokyo." I replied.

"Yeah. I'm gonna miss Hiroshima, and you of course." He said as he held my hand with a smile.

I gave him back a fake smile. We continued walking around the path in the park.

"So what did you want to tell me?" He asked.

"Ah I wanted to tell you about my first boyfriend and the accident that happened to me." I said.

"Oh okay. I'm all ears." He said.

"My first boyfriend was actually my best friend in middle school. We dated for a few months then I dumped him since he doesn't treat me right. He always bossed me around which I knew was wrong." I said.

"Then about my accident, I got hit by a car at Tokyo. I wasn't paying attention to the road so that happened. I lost my memory but then I'm fine now. I was using my phone at that time. I couldn't focus on the road since I was so fed up with my friends' boyfriends. They were all not man enough to be my friends' boyfriends. The girls were better off with other men or just by themselves. That's why I started thinking lowly of men." I added.

"Ohh. So that's why. That's harsh but I'm glad you've completely recovered from your accident. I'm actually even happier that I changed your mind about men." He said with a smile.

"You only changed my mind about a man named Masuda Toshiki. Just him." I replied with a smile as well.

Masuda then suddenly stopped in his tracks.

"Masuda?"

"Hey, (F/N). Come here." He said as he gestured me to stand next to him.

"Hm?-"

As soon as I stood there, his lips met mine.

"I don't want to leave you." He said then hugged me.

"You have to." I said as I hugged back.

"I'm gonna make you sad again if I go away." He said in a serious tone.

"It's fine. I can handle a long distance." I replied then broke the hug.

"Besides, I know you'll be back again, right?" I said with a smile.

The day of Masuda's departure came by fast and I definitely wasn't ready for him to leave, but I had to. You know what they say, "if you love them, set them free".

I did my best not to show any hint of disappointment or sadness for his departure so he would be able to leave without worrying too much.

I tightly held his hand as we walked to the departure area. There was already a long line of people boarding the plane.

"Well, you should go now. I guess this is goodbye, Masuda Toshiki." I said as I looked at him with a half-hearted smile.

"Haha! You're talking as if we'll never see each other again. I'll see you next time, (F/N). Til then, you'll be right here." He said as he placed my hand on his left chest.

"I'll see you next year then." I said with a smile then started to walk away, my tears slowly started to fall.

"(F/N), wait!" Masuda yelled then grabbed my wrist and pulled me into a hug.

"So you're just going to let me go that easily?" He asked.

"Of course not but what choice do I have? I know you have a job and everything and I can't stop you from doing what you need to do. Working is a necessity for us single adults. But of course I don't want you to go." I cried into his chest.

"Hmh, don't worry. I'll be back soon. My birthday's in two months and I wouldn't want you to miss that." He said with a wink.

"You should go now, or you'll be late." I said with a small laugh.

"Yeah, you're right. Bye." He said.

"Bye." I replied as I watched him walk away.

I then turned my back around but before I could completely turn away, a pair of lips landed on my cheek.

I turned around to see Masuda running to board the plan. I smiled then shook my head.

Ah that boy. I sure was sad that he was going to leave but I trust him very much. He's a great boyfriend who I'd never replace.

It's sweet that he can read through me and tell what I'm feeling even if I don't show it.

Today, I promise you, Masuda. I won't be keeping any more secrets from you. Your loyalty will be paid back in full. My heart belongs to you, only you.

Masuda: Hello—

(F/N): I love you.

Masuda: //smiles I love you too

(F/N): //ends call then walks back with a grin
