~11~ Tailgating & Evasive Driving
She couldn't do it. She'd try but it'd be no doubt useless. She hadn't handled a gun since as she was ten. Her father used to teach her, they would shoot targets for hours. It started with water guns, then small guns with rubber bullets and then on to small actual pistols. He would teach Alcina about guns: loading one, how to shoot. As a ten year old she could load a gun under five seconds, they were like toys to her. Her aim was almost as good as his for a ten year old.
But once he died, she forgot all about them.
And here she was in a car with some freaks shooting at her with a mafia boss who had just handed her a gun and said 'Here shoot them and cause some damage'.
Heck, the only damage to be caused was her getting injured.
"What?" She asked stupidly.
"Stick your head out and shoot them suckers!" He shouted as he swerved through traffic.
"OK, I can do this. You can do this Alcina. Just stick your head out and shoot" she inhaled heavily.
She stuck her head out as Leonardo had said and was almost thrown out by the force of the wind. She steadied her aim and shot at the suv closest to her. She missed the tire a bit and was impressed with herself.
She calculated and steadied her aim again. If only she could get a tire.
Bang.
And she did. The tire popped causing the vehicle to loose control. The driver swerved left and right until the vehicle sumersaulted to the side of the road.
"Yeah baby!" She screamed in victory as the suv began to smoke.
"Nice" Leonardo said as proud as a hen watching her chick do something rewarding.
Before she could blink twice, a wave of bullets from the other suv was sent their way. She sat back into the car as fast as she could and the bullets whizzed past them.
"Oh my goodness, Alcina!"
" What?" She asked not seeing a reason for all this screaming.
"You're hit" he stated struggling to focus on the road.
She was shot? But she didn't feel any different.
"It just brushed your right arm". She looked down to her arm now to look at the gash just below her shoulder. Looking at it somewhat incited pain.
"Ah" she said holding the arm gingerly.
"Don't look at it" he tsked. "Look, why don't you just drive. I'll take them out" he glanced at the side mirrors.
OK, this was going too fast. She had never taken a driving test all her life and here he was making her do stuff. All she knew was that you turn on the ignition, then there's an acceleration and brake pedal and a steering wheel.
"We'll switch places come on"
Alcina inhaled and prepared herself mentally for the most awkward two minutes of her life. The whole time was full of awkward positions and situations between them. It left her blushing, red as a tomato. They almost died three times as the car swerved out of position severally.
"Alright, steady the car and give me clear shots" he said before sticking his head out just like she had. He began shooting.
Alcina was once again proud of herself. She was doing something for the first time and was doing good so far.
Then she had an idea. A dangerously risky one at that. There were three lanes and they were in the middle lane. On either side of them, were two cars. Each a few meters ahead. In front of Leo's car was another, farther ahead than the two on the other two lanes. The tailgaters were hot on their trail.
If she overtook the car on her left at just the right speed and moment, she'd have the suv trapped in the middle. It was foolproof.
"I have a plan" she said suddenly. Leonardo raised his eyebrows at her. As if knowing the plan, he said.
"Whatever you're thinking don't do it. I already have a lot of expenses on my hand for the broken windscreen, I don't want you topping it off with a bashed..."
She had tuned him out and made her decision. She stepped on the gas and at just the right moment, she overtook the car on the left.
"Are you fucking crazy?" Leonardo asked pissed off. He didn't like people disobeying his orders. But to his surprise, the suv was no where to be found. It was trapped between the three cars.
Alcina beamed with pride.
Leonardo had assumed her to be a dumb blonde, but she was smarter than she looked.
"Great job. But you shouldn't have disobeyed me"
Alcina rolled her eyes at this. Typical alpha male.

"There its all cleaned up" Alexa, the nurse said after dressing the wound on Alcina's shoulder.
She nodded in appreciation and she left me her to herself. A few moments after, the four guys from her school came in.
She knew them, everyone knew them. They were on the football team. Tommy, Christopher, Lucas and David.
Lucas and David were twins, seniors, like me. Christopher and Tommy however, were younger, they weren't seniors yet.
"Hey Alcina" David spoke up first.
"Hi" she replied a little weak. All she wanted was some rest. After the adrenaline comes fatigue.
"We heard what you did earlier today" Tommy the youngest said a little giddy.
"Oh?"
"Yea, word spreads fast. I never knew you were so badass" Lucas said.
"Shut up guys can't you see she's tired? We're just here to introduce ourselves not talk her head off" David sighed.
The other three pouted up at their older brother but none dared to say a word.
"I'm David. These three losers are Lucas, Christopher and Tommy" he added with a wicked grin and the others glared at him.
Heys and sups came her way. She waved at them.
"Lucas has a major crush on you!" Tommy shouted suddenly, causing David to whack his head.
Alcina blushed furiously at Tommy's statement. Lucas also subtly tried to hide the pink on his cheeks.
"Um, ah, we should get going" Lucas said, suddenly shy. Alcina just nodded.
"You fucking prick, why would you tell her that!" Lucas shouted on top of his lungs once they were outside the room.
"I'm sorry bro Chris dared me to" Tommy replied weakly. "It was for a hundred bucks I couldn't decline.
"I am gonna kill you both". Then she heard shouting and running down the hallway. She just shook her head.
Boys.
Alone at last, Alcina got up from the bed. The room was a bit stuffy and she needed some air. She walked to to a window. She'd been dying to see the view since she was brought here and it was worth it.
The view before her was of a wide expanse of land. It was the back area of the fort. There was a canopy of trees, though not too clustered. It looked like a mini forest, she thought to herself.
There was a pond in the middle with a gun for a fountain, water flowed out of the bullet hole.
Who would have ever thought of such a structure?
Alcina couldn't quite lay her finger on what to call it. It wasn't really a garden. There were no pathways. And when she strained her eyes just enough, she noticed that there was a wall all around with barbed wires, the electrocuting kind.
She didn't fail to notice the armed figures among the trees. No doubt guards, in case an intruder were to hide within this mini forest.
She put two and two together and figured out that probably, this place could act as a sanctuary if the fort was ever to be attacked, which she thought was impossible with all the security around.
Alcina decided to walk around a bit. She hesitantly opened the door and glanced down the hallway. She recognised Leonardo's voice down the hallway, he was speaking to someone.
She tiptoed over to the door, looking backwards from time to time to avoid getting caught. She paused at the door.
"Yes she's here" Leonardo said. His back was turned to the door, she recognised the room as where she'd first met him. His right hand was holding a phone to his ear and the other was on his waist. He was still dressed a before and she didn't miss how his biceps bulged from so little an action.
"She gave in that minute. That talk put some sense into her" he paused. "OK then, my regards to those rascals" another pause. "Bye bye then"
Alcina dashed down the hall as he turned to drop the phone. She kept grinning to herself as she was almost caught.
Then she heard it. That unmistakable voice coming from a television somewhere. She followed the sound and stopped dead in her tracks as she found the source.
"Are you watching 'First Kisses'?!"

I tried my best to describe what Alcina did in that shoot out scene. How she maneuvered through the cars.
Hope y'all get it.
So I said 100 reads, 92 is close enough!
Love, Vicki.💟
