Her Past

"Stop moving, little girl!"

"I'm not a kid anymore so stop calling me little girl! I'm 12 years old! And don't you dare touch my bestie!"

"Oh? This useless kid? I'll kill him if you will not tell me where's your parents!"

"I said, I don't know!"

"Do you really want this kid to die?"

"No, please!"

"Then, tell me where they are! Your parents must agree with my proposal!"

"You're such a dimwit! You should not force yourself on our business because base on your attitude, you're not good in handling anything! You talk first and you're not even doing anything to let them approve your proposa—oh! You did a move! To scare my parents. Why? Do you think Mama and Papa will ever approve your stupid proposal when you are scaring them?!"

"You really talk too much!"

"Because I'm smarter than you!"

"What's the use of you brain when I'm destined to kill this kid? Hmm?"

"Reen-Reen! Don't come near me! You might get hurt..."

"Aww, such a lovebirds."

"Aw! You little..."

"Jeb-Jeb! Hey, Jeb...please open your eyes..."

"I-I ha-have no regrets that y-you became my b-best fr-friend... I love you, R-Reen."

"N-No... no! No! Please..."

"Now, you'll tell me or not? I'm losing my tem—"

"Shut up! Receive this kick, assh0le!"

"Aw!—"

*Police cars sirens*

"You are under arrest, Mr. Shau."

"P-Please, d-don't close your eyes... and I l-love you too, Jeb—

I quickly sat on my bed after dreaming again that incident. I can't see what was happening. I can only hear their voices. Her past that I was able to hear when she's on the middle of panicking.

Maureen is still sleeping at the clinic. Dinala siya ro'n noong isang araw ni James nang malaman nitong hindi pa rin ito gumigising. She's asleep for 2 days. While me, every night, was dreaming about her past. This is the first time in my entire life that I couldn't see any happenings of the person's past but just hearing voices.

I have the ability that when I look into the human's eyes or touch a thing, I'll see their past. I don't know how it connects to my magic. I'm a fire manipulator and wielder while my twin has the earth. His ability is to understand and talk to animals, beasts or any creatures. Somehow, it has a connection on how he have that kind of ability, unlike me.

On our bloodline, the Amores', only have the element of fire and earth to wield. Our greatest great grandparents is the first royalties and their legacy continues until now.

As I am readying myself, I quickly open the door and there, I saw the man that I really love. He's smiling from ear to ear, eyes shows love only for me. He's also from the Rank SUPREMUS, top 5, next to James Bradley. Well, we don't really care about that ranking but our parents insisted.

"Good Morning, Love," he greeted and kissed me on the cheeks.

I smiled. "Morning," I greeted back.

"Maglalakad tayo or we'll use my teleportation?" he asked. His magic was to control the weather while his ability is teleportation. Ayaw na ayaw ko sa teleportation niya dahil parang lalabas ang kaluluwa ko ro'n.

Naalala ko pa noong natuklasan niya ang teleportation. Nakahawak ako sa laylayan ng t-shirt niya no'n dahil natakot ako sa apoy na lumabas sa hintuturo ko. I discovered my magic that day while he discovered his ability and that is the teleportation. Nagtaka nalang ako no'n na parang may translucent fragments. My head was spinning at kaunti nalang ay mawawalan na ako ng malay. It was like my soul was traveling away from my body. That was my first and last experience of his ability. Every time he said that we'll use his ability, I have my excuses. And he's not dumb not to notice it.

"We'll just walk. Maaga pa naman."

We started walking along the hallway until we came out the dorm. Our dorm is like a mansion. Iisa lang kami ng kusina at sala, at nasa 2nd floor pareho and mga kwarto namin.

"Are you still dreaming about that?" he asked, worried is all written on his face.

I nod. "I don't know but the first time I dreamt about that, there's a woman who suddenly appeared on the next dream. Wavy waistline blonde hair and she has cold yet angelic voice. She's wearing an all green flowy dress with a flower crown above her head. She's beautiful and at the same time, intimidating. She said that I need to train her. I bet, it's Maureen she's talking about."

"Really? Baka nanay niya 'yon."

"Hindi, e. Sabi kasi niya wala na siyang mga magulang. She told us that when we were celebrating the fiesta," I clarified.

I sighed upon remembering on what she said back then. Bakit niya kami sinabihan na kami pa lamang ang naging kaibigan niya? That the fact is, she had a bestfriend but unfortunately, died. Maybe she wants to move on?

"Sayang nga, e. Hindi ako nakasama. Bakit ba kasi no'ng araw na iyon binigay ang one day mission ni headmaster?"

I giggle. "Don't worry, Love. We'll date some other time kapag hindi na tayo busy."

He then laughed. I really love this guy. Actually, we're all childhood friends. Me, Jack, Sofia, James and him, Kendreck Hoviery, my boyfriend.

"GISING NA siya?" mahinang tanong ni Ken kay Doctor Cristina. We are here in front of Maureen's cubicle. He really wants to formally meet Mau. Kaya atat na atat itong malaman kung gising na ba ito.

"Luckily, yes. Kagagaling ko lang doon sa kwarto niya at maayos na ang lagay niya. Just make sure not to inject her a medicine for sleeping because she's allergic to that."

"What do you mean, Doc?" I asked.

Doctor Cristina sighed. "Kagabi kasi, nag-react ang katawan niya. She have little rashes on her neck part but it faded after an hour. Buti nga't gising na siya ngayon." She smiled, a smile that's full of positivity.

"Thanks, Doc!"

"My job to do that, kids." Nagpaalam na ito sa amin na aalis na. She really have the positivity all over her body. Nakahahawa nga minsan.

Pumasok na kami sa cubicle ni Maureen and there she is, sitting and leaning on the headboard. Kumakain ito ng ubas na hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling. "Are you now okay?" I asked worriedly.

"Yeah, thank you for visiting," aniya at hindi yata napansin si Ken.

"Maureen," pagtawag ko. Napalinon siya ng bahagya sa 'kin. "This is Kendreck Hoviery, my boyfriend."

Lumapit naman sa kaniya si Ken at nakipagshake-hands. "Megami Maureen," she shortly replied.

"Hi!" bati naman ni Ken dito.

Tumango lamang siya. Mukhang wala pa siguro sa mood. Bumaling sa 'kin si Maureen at nagtanong. "How many hours did I slept?"

"2 days," sagot ng tinig sa likod.

Napalingon ako sa kaniya dahil sa gulat. "James! H'wag ka ngang manggulat!"

Nginisian niya lang ako at ibinaling ulit ang tingin kay Mau. "Dalawang araw ka ng tulog," pag-uulit niya pa.

"What?! Anyways, what's the reason why I lost consciousness?" Kumuha siya ng isang pear at kinagatan, una ang pwetan.

"Because someone injected a sleeping injection to you, and that's the old lady back at the fiesta."

"The what?! So that's the reason..." she sighed. "I'm allergic to sleeping injections."

Hindi na kami nagulat pa dahil sinabi na nga ng doktor kanina. "What?! Bakit hindi mo sinabi?" James asked with so much force in his voice that I almost rolled my eyes out.

"Did you ask?" Maureen snapped back.

Hindi na ako makapaghintay na sabihin sa kaniya ang dahilan kung bakit sumama akong dumalaw rito. "Maureen, can we talk?" She only nodded. "Privately," dugtong ko pa.

Tiningnan niya iyong dalawang lalaki na nakaramdam naman kaagad. "What are we going to talk about?" she asked as she bit another fruit, green apple.

How should I say this? Bahala na nga! "Uhm, is it okay if I'm the one who'll train you?" I respectfully asked.

"Why me?"

Ikinuwento ko sa kaniya ang dahilan. Ang tungkol doon sa nakita ko sa past niya at sa misteryosong babae na nagpakita sa panaginip ko. Bahagya pa siyang nagulat sa mga narinig niya. As I told her about the past that I saw, there's a hint of guilt and sadness that passes through her ocean blue eyes. Pero sandali lang iyon.

"That woman..." She stops midway na parang may inaalala. Pinitik niya ang kaniyang mga daliri. "That woman in your dream was the woman that's also in my dream!"

Nagulat naman ako sa sinabi niya. "What? How?"

"She keep on saying these words, 'go back where you really belong, child' and that's my dream everyday when I was still on the Mortal Realm! Then, the last time I dreamt about her is the time I step in the portal of my favorite tree."

"A portal?" I asked in confusion.

"Yes! There's a blue portal at the back of my favorite tree. I also dreamed about that so I decided to go for it. And there, I found myself standing at the forest. The next morning, that's the day that I met James in the same forest. He said that the forest's name is 'Delphic Forest'. A dangerous forest, he said," mahabang litaniya niya.

"What?! Delphic Forest?! Buti buhay ka pa hanggang ngayon? Nandoon lahat ang mga nilalang na mababangis!"

"Yeah, I know about that. James told me. I found Ami there too." She genuinely smiled. And ganda talaga niya.

"Really?" She just nod and chew another fruit. This time, it's banana. Ang takaw lang, hindi kaya sasakit tiyan niya? "By the way, I visited Ami yesterday. She's back on the care of Headmaster Kashmir again," I told her that made her smile widely.

Kung titigan ko siya nang mabuti, nagiging intimidating ang dating niya. I don't know if she knows about that. "Pagaling ka na ng tuluyan, Maureen. Para makapagtraining na tayo."
