"Chief he did not answer."

"Shit....Shit....Fuuck!"

"Chief ?"

"Where have he gone?"

"Chief ?"

"Not right now Ryder."

"CHIEF!!!!!!"

" Yes!"

"I don't get it, I mean what's so wrong with Zyan sitting in his car, yeah he left, but he could be heading home."

"One he left around 12:00 and he always clock out before he leaves."

" Okay he probably forgot this time"

"Really now."

Ryder: Look chief, me and Zyan got off on the wrong start, and I been trying to make it up to him but he just won't budge. I really want to get to know him.

Chief: I understand, so I'm going to tell you this but don't ever tell Zyan I told you this or you'll regret it.

Ryder: Ok.

Chief: I'm guessing he told you about his partner.

Ryder: Uhmm not that I can remember, he probably didn't.

Chief: Well his partner died , he got shot in the head on a investigation they was doing. Zyan manage to get him to a ambulance, but by the time they reach the hospital he died. Since then Zyan haven't been the same. Every time he think about his partner he gets real sad and does stupid shit.

Ryder: May I ask what is his partner name.

Chief: His name was....... Hmmmm...... What was his name......uhmmmm.... Oh his name was Cameron

Ryder: Cameron....... wait like Cameron Cameron like Cameron Rouge

Chief: Yea him; why? you know him

Ryder: Yea that's my brother, but he never told me his boyfriend name was Zyan.

Chief: Well how come?

Ryder: When he turned 18 he got into a argument with my mom and accidentally hit her. So my mom filed a restriction order to stay away from me, her, and the house. We talk to each other now and then until my mom found out and switch my number, so since than I never seen him nor have a call from him.

Chief: He told me that story before, he also told me he had a little brother, but he never told me his name. wow!

*Ring*

Ryder: Hold one second chief

I look at the phone and see a random number I don't know we'll at least I think I don't know. But I answered it anyways.

Ryder: Hello?

Random Caller: Hello is this Ryder McCray?

Ryder: Yes it is, why?

Random Caller: This is Megan Hospital. We're calling to let you know we have one of your partners name Zyan Gonzalez

Ryder: Wait what? Is he okay?

Megan Hospital: Right now he in the ER. He suffered a broken leg.

Ryder: I'm on my way, thank you

Megan Hospital: no problem

*Hangs up*

Ryder: Chief Zyan in the hospital

Chief: What!!!! What hospital is he at?

Ryder: Megan hospital

Chief: Let's go.

Ryder: Ok, let me get my car keys.

Zyan P.O.V

Is he okay? Would he be alright? Is all I can hear. I slightly open my eyes to see Chief and Ryder talking by the door.

I slowly tried to sit myself up as I kept my slightly open eye on the two of them. As I watch the both of them argue but not to loud for them to wake me up, even though I'm already up.

As I sit myself straight up , chief notice me looking.

"He's up" chief said

"Really" Ryder said softly

"Hey how are you feeling" Chief ask

I tried to speak but nothing came out more like when I tried to speak my throat starts hurting.

I move my arm , which it did hurt alot. I put up my thumb letting them know that I'm okay.

"I'll go get the doctor" was all Ryder said and to be honest as he was leaving I could have sworn I saw a worry/sad face. That made my heart drop.

Chief look back and caught a glimpse at what I was looking at.

"Hey" Chief said to catch my attention

I turn my head and look at him

"He's a good partner Zyan, but your not treating him the same way you treat his brother Cameron. In fact you owe him a life story about you and you need to explain to him about his brother being killed" Chief scolded slightly not harshly at me.

I tilt my head looking at him in confusion

"Yes Ryder is Cameron brother, different dads. The point is Zy you need to understand him and not try him. I can see that he reminds you of Cam otherwise you wouldn't be in th hospital right now" he let out a small Chuck.

I look at him like seriously.

"Okay not the best to say during a situation like this" Chief stated

The doctor soon came and did a check up on me blah blah blah it the usual things they do to their patients.

After the doctor did his little check up. Ryder came back in with that same face he had before he left.

{What's up with him} is all I was thinking when I saw that face. {I want to talk so badly, but now not the right time} I talk some more in my mind.

"All right time for me to head out" Chief said.

"Right, stay safe; night" Ryder replied

"Uhm. Your staying here to make sure he safe and does nothing else stupid" Chief order

"Chief are you forgetting I'm the one that took us here" Ryder reminded him

"No, I'm taking a uber back home now stay here and watch your partners. That's a order Ryder."Chief said with so much bass in he's voice.

"Okay" Ryder stated back to his boss.

So here we are me and Ryder sitting in my hospital room chilling watching TV then I felt eyes staring at me so I took a quick look and saw Ryder staring at me.

I wanted to talk this time weather my throat was hurting or not. I had to say something to him, to cancel this awkward silence.

"Hey"

"So you can talk now that's good" Ryder said

"Yea, but just barely; my throat still hurt"

"Hmph" was all he said

"So what's up?"

"You tell me" Ryder said in a harsh tone

{Geezs, what's his problem}

"Uhm..Okay"

Ryder got up from his sit, and came closer to me. By a blink of a eye he was gripping me tightly by the hospital gown.

"What the fuck man, what's your problem?"

"My problem is that you went out with my brother and never said nothing. Then, you got him killed. How do you think I feel finding out, you was once my brother partner, or how your brother dead and your nothing but a replacement for him." Ryder stated as tear started to form and fall down.

"Woah there. First off I never knew Cam was your brother, you both have two different last name. Second off your brother would have never died if he would have listen to me, and not go by the ware house. Not only that your not a replacement for your brother, why would you even think of that?"

"I thought of it because you always give me a hard time, and like you never gave my brother a hard time. Why me. You loved my brother."

{I hate seeing people cry, I do love his brother so much. I just can't risk it for him to lose his life too.}

"Hey calm down for a second, your starting to just blurt out words"

"Their not just words it's called feeling. I'm tired of being push around by you Zyan.
Especially that day when you beat the shit out of me. I'm through. I think it's best if I took a break." He said

"Ryder!"

He got up and headed towards the door before he open the door he gave me a fake smile and wave a good bye.

*2 week later*

"Chief I can drive you know, I broke my left leg not right"

"I don't want to here the noise, it's already a pain that I have to deal with you early in the morning" chief said

"Well if Ryder would have pick up his phone, you wouldn't had to deal with me."

Chief gave me this look that I have never seen in my whole life since I been working for him.

We pulled up at the department and chief help me out. I look around for Ryder car and I didn't see it. I didn't bother to ask chief where he is I just decided to wait till he show.

*4 week later*

"Chief!!! chief!!!" I cried out

"Yes Zyan" chief answer

"I haven't seen Ryder for 2 week , what happen to him?"

"Oh he quit the same day you was in the hospital he called and said I quite" chief said

"And your just now telling me this!"

"You never asked, so I never told" chief addressed me

"Chief you should have automatically told me, I shouldn't have to ask"

I took out my phone and dialed Ryder number. It rang for a little, then it went to voicemail. I called several times and the same thing happened.

"7865 NW Charles ST." Chief said

I look back and said "Thanks Chief" I grab my crunches and started walking to the door. That's when I realize I'm not the one who drove here.

"Chi..."

"You better call a uber cause your sure not driving my car" he replied

"Sheesh"

I called a uber, and gave him the address, we was off on a good start till traffic came and slows us down. I ask if he can take a different route. I told him my situation and he understood.

By 4:00 I was at Ryder house. I walk to the door and knock. At first I thought nobody was home, but than the door flung open.

"Yes" Ryder said tiredly rubbing his eye not knowing who's at the door

"You asshole!"

He jump to the sound of my voice and blink a couple of times.

"Zyan what are you doing here?" He asked me

"What do you think. I'm obviously here because chief told me you quit. Why?"

*Sign* "you mind as well come inside" ryder open the door much more wider for me to enter.

I walk in and the first thing I smell was chocolate chip cookies. "Are you making chocolate chip cookies?"

"Yea, you got a strong nose. I mean you got down to the details." He chuckled a little

"Look all I want to know is why did you quite, not only that you did it the day you left the hospital." I got straight to the point in case he thought he can let me forget why I'm here.

"Zyan I wasn't feeling my job anymore. I thought when I first got the job it was going to be a good vibe with my partner but ever since it been bad. I'm not trying to blame it on you. It's just maybe I'm not right for that job."

"Bullshit!!!! Yea I know I'm a Ass sometimes"

Ryder look at me like I was lying

"Okay most of the time, but after awhile I'll stop. Come on your brother did it. So why can't you."

"That's my brother and don't get me wrong I'm still mad at you" ryder stated

"Mad at me for what"

"My brother life was in your hand and you just let it slip away like he meant nothing to you. Your so heartless."

Now he was making me mad cause that was not true

"YOUR BROTHER DID MEAN ALOT TO ME!!!!"

He look at me with fear

"Look I didn't come here to argue with you I just wanted to say I'm sorry for everything I done and I hope you can forgive me."

Ryder nodded his head

"I guess I should be leaving now, I'm getting tired of these damn crunches"

"Wait..... I still have cookies in the oven don't you want some?" He said

"No thank you, I really should be going"

"Please" Ryder beg

"Fine"

We went to the kitchen and he gave me a couple of cookies it was actually pretty good. I like it.. no matter of fact I loved it.

I felt eyes staring at me

"You know you tend to drool when your staring at me"

"Huh... That's not true" Ryder starts to wipe his mouth feeling embarrassed

"What is it?" I question him

"It's nothing" he answer

"I hate when you do that!!!"

"When I do what?" Acting all stunned

"You stare at me like you have something to say but you don't say it. It pisses me off."

"What do you want from me Zyan?" Ry said so coldly

"I want you to be honest with me. I want you to tell me why did you quit your job."

"It's none of your damn business" he said

"IT IS!!!! I'll have you know I have feelings too, I'm human!"

"You have feelings don't make me laugh cause ever since I started working at that job you been nothing but cruel to me." Ry stated

"Your right and I'm sorry about that, I have been acting like a jackasses, but that doesn't mean you stop telling me things"

"YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW THAT BADLY FINE THEN, I QUIT BECAUSE I STARTED TO FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU. EVERYTIME I LOOK AT YOU I JUST WANT BE APART OF YOU, I WANT TO FEEL YOUR PAIN. I CANT EVEN DO THAT BECAUSE YOU'LL NEVER LET ME IN..... I....I...I love you so much that each time you do something mean to me all I can do is forgive you." Ry started yelling at me but started to calm down

"Well that's not what I expected" I said shock

"I know, now can you please leave" Ry said while walking to the door

I walk to the door than stop to look at Ryder

"I'm not going anywhere, so you can close the door"

"Leave Zyan! You cause enough problems" Ry stated

"I'm not leaving!"

Ryder ran out the house full speed in the dark

"RYDER!!!" I shouted and tried to chase after him

He ran threw the streets and threw a Alley, It took me 3 hours to catch up to him, I knew he was going to the park cause that's where everyone goes when their hurt. I walk up to him and grab his arm.

"LET ME GO YOU ASSHOLE!!!" Ry screamed

"Ry calm down."

"No, now let me go" he said

I got a little mad that he won't hear me out so I force him to, by putting my hands on his shoulders and hold him still.

"I like you, I just don't want the same thing that happened with your brother to happen to you. I'm scared if you want to put it that way."

"I'm nothing like my brother, no where near. I truly want to be with you, but do you want to be with me?" Ry question

"I don't know, like I said, I'm scared."

"Do you or you don't" Ry said more determined

{Damn I love it when he so determined, I love making him upset by bothering him. Reminds me alot of Cam. I'll give it a shot if that night happens again I don't know what I'll do.}

"I do"

He smiled and gave me a hug, we stood there hugging until I gazed down in his eyes and kiss him.
