29. Sometimes Goodbye is a Second Chance

Have to get to the bottom of this. What's the catch Smith? Something's fishy around the corner and we're not gonna be your bait!

Adamant on getting an answer on why the two lawyers visited her crew, Martina tapped the shoulder of the first guard who approached her. Yelling at the top of her lungs like a spoiled brat, she expressed her anger.

"I want to see the warden, now!"

The prison guard was taken aback with her sudden outburst that he almost lost his balance. He grabbed onto an empty chair to steady himself, and stood his ground.

"Miss, that was uncalled for!" The guard tried to keep his voice down because he was told that new hires weren't allowed to talk to inmates on the job, since many prisoners have taken advantage of them. Thus, to prevent that from happening again, that rule was enforced.

However, the new gentleman, Dennison, felt sorry for the young woman in handcuffs that he ignored that regulation.

"Why would you do that, Miss? Warden's not on good terms right now. And to tell you the truth, I'm not supposed to be speaking to you, so be a good girl and be quiet," the prison guard whispered in his country accent.

Be a good girl, my ass! Obviously this guy doesn't know who I am.

Martina didn't care if he was supposed to remain silent nor did she want to let him know what she was up to in fear of further punishment. Yet, since she hasn't seen Dennison before, she decided to play a trick on him to get what she wanted.

Martina forced her eyes to open a little wider than usual and raised her eyebrows a bit, while sticking her bottom lip out. She tilted her head downward and looked upwards at the guard. Folding her hands together as if she were praying, Martina started the ruse she had in mind.

"Pretty Please, Mr. Handsome Guard. It would just take a moment. Can't you ask the warden to come over?" She asked while she batted her eyes.

Harley overheard what her partner was doing as she was on her way out the door and smirked. She knew what Martina was doing as her flamboyant ways was what got her attracted to the former disc jockey in the first place.

Although Harley wanted to stick around for the show, she knew she had to keep on walking out to the hallway, as the other guards were watching her every move. Harley kept quiet and decided to talk to her girlfriend afterwards about her prank.

Thinking she won Dennison over, the guard asked Martina to come with him towards the edge of the room.

She was told to sit down in the chair that was located in front of a rectangular desk that had a metallic bar built into it. Unlocking one of her handcuffs, the curly haired man hooked it to the centerpiece and let out a grunt while nodding his head.

"You shouldn't have done that. Do you think I'll fall for your tricks Miss Wade? Just because I'm newly transferred here, doesn't mean I don't know what I'm doing. The warden warned me about you! So if you want to see him, you've got your end of the deal. He heard you loud and clear through my earpiece."

Not knowing that the guard had the device on, Martina put her head down as she now knew she was headed for trouble.

With a grin as wide as the Cheshire Cat, the warden walked in front of the guest room to announce his surprise to the delinquents.

The other guards who held Harley, Roman, Bonnie and Clyde followed him inside.

Puzzled, Roman jiggled his hand out of the prison guard's grip.

"Why did you lead us back in here?"

The warden ordered the guard to keep silent. Seeing that there could be more questions that need to be answered here, Smith decided to release his secret weapon.

"Patience, Mr. Grendel. Your question will be answered shortly."

The warden signaled the man guarding the door to let the families of the inmates come in. Smith motioned everyone to calm down.

"Please, everyone be quiet now. Sit down. I'd bet you all will be delighted once I introduce you to your visitors. They would like to see you, my darlings before you all make that space voyage! And you can thank Martina later for making me do this. We searched far and wide for them!"

Martina's jaw remained ajar as she wasn't expecting her parents to come back into her life, that her anger rebuilded back in her system.

"You planned this all along, didn't you, Smith? The lawyers were only a ploy. "

The warden ignored her question.

Instead, he allowed an elderly dark haired woman who Martina once called mother to come inside. Right behind her was her father, who followed everything his wife told him to do.

Wonder if Smith expects me to welcome them with open arms. That would be a laugh! And cut it out, Smith! We are not your darlings. Never were, you're just in for the added fame and fortune, SPANA included Iron Heights in!"

Martina coldly eyed the warden as he spoke. She wanted to put her middle finger up towards him to show him that she couldn't be bossed around. However, she tried to control her temper.

Martina wondered why her parents would even want to visit her in the first place. They were the ones who told her to leave their house and rented out her room. It wasn't the other way around.

"I don't want to see Marty and Tina ever again!

Hearing that outburst, Mr. and Mrs. Wade faced their daughter scornfully.

"How dare you call us by our first names, young lady!"

Martina folded her arms and continued on with her rant.

"Oh and you two are the ever so loving parents who'd accepted their only gay child? I think not! In my eyes, you are no longer my Mom and Dad since you disowned me. You even rented out my former bedroom to a stranger who must have done something with the rest of my items!"

She wanted to stand up and continue her rant, but since her right arm was still handcuffed to the centerpiece, all she could do was cry.

Smith did not intend for Martina to become emotional for he didn't even think she had a soft spot hidden within her. But the damage was already done as he asked Mr. and Mrs. Wade to leave the premises.

Bonnie's parents were next. A blonde lady dressed in lavish clothes with fur wrapped around her shoulders walked in with a well dressed gentleman holding her hands.

"Ah, hello Mom and Dad. Still rich I see."

"You know you too could have stayed in our rich lifestyle too honey," her father answered.

"No thank you. I'd rather be poor than be snobbish. Anyway, what are you doing here? Trying to take me back?" Bonnie retorted back with contempt written upon her face.

Eyeing the scrawny rouge next to her daughter, Benita Ackles frowned.

"Are you still with that scoundrel? You know how I despise him Bonnie, and he's the reason you are here in this filthy jail! Imagine being known as the infamous couple on the Most Wanted List, Charles. That was our daughter! I didn't raise you like that Bonnie."

Benita took her fur off in disgust, as she accidentally hit the warden's face with it. Thus, it caused the onlookers to giggle.

Serves him right! Martina tried not to blurt it out loud.but since her lips mouthed the words, the warden read her remark.

In turn, the warden growled.

Learning that she accidentally hit Smith in the eyes, Benita apologized to him in a sultry voice.

"I'm very sorry Mr. Smith. I didn't see that you were right behind me. Come Charles, if our daughter is still staying with that boy, she's no use to us."

Bonnie's father tried to retaliate, but her snobbish mother wouldn't let him as she scurried out the door.

And for you McCartney ... we found your guardians. You know how hard it was to track down your foster parents."

Clyde was startled as he heard the name.

Not Mr. and Mrs. Springer!

Believing that they were out to take custody of him again, he made a tantrum by kicking his feet underneath the table and looked around for something to throw toward his former guardians.

"Get them out of here! They abused me! They should be the ones who are supposed to be locked up, not me."

Wow, didn't mean to cause these chaos to develop Dennison.

I'm sure you didn't Sir, the guard sarcastically replied.

"I believe you brought their guardians here so you can persuade the inmates to sign those release forms. Isn't that the truth sir?

"You are quick on catching up Dennison. Wise to the bone! Wish I had hired you earlier.

"But aren't you forgetting the parents of the last two inmates," Dennison asked.

"Saving the best for last, Denny!"
