Update: writing has resumed. I'm keeping this chapter up because every time I read the comments, I smile and feel grateful for everything I have. Wattpad is such an amazing community and I am honoured to be a part of it. Please continue to be wonderful, everyone; being alive can be tough!

An important announcement.

In short: I'm taking a hiatus for the foreseeable future. I offer you my sincere apologies and hope you will respect my choice.

In long: I've been struggling with a depressive episode for about 2 months now. After a while of getting better, I spiralled again and am at my lowest once more. With little motivation to even get out of bed most days, my writing inspiration has been rendered non-existent. With exams just over, breaks from uni, going home, and important exams on the horizon, there are many new changes for which I am not ready, and I'm struggling.

So, with my doctor advising that I stop my unrealistic expectations and pressuring myself to do things, I'm taking away things that will make me scared, guilty, and panicky if I cannot achieve them. Unfortunately, posting on Wattpad is one of them due to these circumstances; I assure you, I love to write and post regularly when I'm not feeling like this. I will still write, if my mood allows me to, but as that is impossible to predict, it is unfair to promise regular updates when I can't even regulate my own emotions. If I'm able to post a chapter, I will. 

I ask not for pity or encouragement, only for understanding that I'm currently unwell, and will need time to recuperate. I'm telling you in this much detail (perhaps more than the average person is comfortable with) because I believe mental illness should not be taboo and should be something we can all acknowledge and sympathise, even if we cannot empathise. Speaking freely about it is a first step. It's common. 1 in 4 people will experience this dark episode in their lives. And I'm positive I will recover, in time.

Until then, all regular updates and critiques will be on hold. To those I have made promises, I assure you it will be delivered when I'm able. Please be patient with me. Wattpad is a fantastic place with a great community and I love each and every one of you for your support and kindness.
