A Little Bit of Ibiki
1 Word... exams.... there are still 2 weeks, left, I managed 1 week already, so I might only update the weekends if not at all...
I was currently seated on a bed in a hotel in Sunagakure. It’s been a few days since Gaara’s revival. We all stayed because of our injuries, more like Kakashi’s injury. We also stayed to help things settle down, to make sure no other village decided to attack. I didn’t have much to do the few days so I stayed in my room and thought of all the things going through my mind. From A.N.G. (who hasn’t been on the surface lately it seems, odd…) to the old man Hokage, Team Ten, my brother, the Akatsuki, Ibiki, my victims… I stopped there and gulped. I would never forget those two years with Ibiki. I learned so much from him, negative and positive. I learned how to interrogate, but mentally.
“Plain physical interrogation is boring and unenjoyable. And even with physical interrogation, there are some shinobi in this world who just won’t talk, even under the worst conditions. And then there are some who talk, but tell lies, sounding like the truth. You never know with physical interrogation. That is why mental interrogation is always the better option, and that is what I will be teaching you these next two years. You will be able to learn the truth from almost anyone .But there are some concepts you’ll have to understand if you want to begin with mental interrogation. The first would be that there are two ways of mental interrogation. The first would be through just using words, but it would only work if you already know the person’s weakness, secrets, past, you know, things you can use against him. So this could maybe work with a traitor you were once associated with like Sasuke.” I gulped when Ibiki-sensei mentioned Sasuke’s name. It’s been about a month now… “Or maybe a friend, you never know. Then the second way would be the one we’ll be focusing the most one. Literally going inside the mind. I’ll teach you how to go into the person’s mind and torture him in there.”
“Wait!” I shouted, suddenly interested, well, not like I wasn’t interested but…ugh whatever.
“Yes?”
“So if we torture them in the mind, doesn’t it count as physical?” Ibiki-sensei hummed for a moment in thought.
“Well I guess you could call it that, in a way I suppose… Well let me finish explaining then maybe you’ll understand better. When you are in the mind, they can’t lie, it would be too obvious.”
“How is it obvious?” He chuckled before answering.
“Ohh you’ll only believe it if you see it. The mind and heart doesn’t lie, so you can’t lie in your mind, and if you do, your mind will make sure to correct you. Now because they can’t lie, we have a choice of how to interrogate them.” I leaned back in my chair, groaning.
“So many choices!!!” He chuckled before just ignoring me and continuing.
“You can either just go search through their memories, but then you’d have to get through their mind gate and the restriction the mind tries to put it on you, and then the other one is the fun one~” Ibiki-sensei looked seriously sadist at this moment, that I actually reconsidered my choice.
“Torture in the mind, physical and with words. It’s like a combination of the two. I have a summoning I will teach you, which you’d be able to use inside the mind. A torture chamber. The only side effect of this is that everything that happens to the victim, happens to you.” My eyes widened. That’s…just crazy!
“Are there any other techniques than that to use for the physical part?” He nodded.
“Of course, there are plenty. I just personally like this one the most because it works most effectively. In the next two years, I will teach you all my methods of torture, plus you will also learn a few other techniques from other people who obviously specialize in other interrogation, so you will have a wide variety to choose from.” I nodded, understanding. “So now’s the only question, Kaiya…” I looked up at him with confusion. What could he possibly want to ask? “Are you up to it?” I mentally face palmed. Well duh he’s going to ask that! I nodded.
“Of course, Ibiki’senpai…”
I snapped out of my thoughts. Ibiki-senpai always did give long speeches… The longest so far would be when he ranted on for literally 16 hours about how the mind works and how to understand it. I knock on the door fortunately interrupted my train of thoughts, not wanting to think back on that speech. A sand shinobi stood at the door.
“Leaf shinobi are to ready for departure.” I sighed and nodded.
We all stood at the gate, Naruto and Gaara having a weird goodbye, having a handshake but turning into a hug. I sweat dropped but after that, we all stood ready for departure. Kakashi’s arms were around mine and Gai’s shoulders, seeing as he was still kind of injured. We started walking, silence at first, but after the first hour or so…Gai got bored. So he swung Kakashi on his back like a piggy back. I face palmed. How can a grown man be so immature!
“Well then Lee, how about we have a race?” Gai asked, studying Lee. Lee’s face suddenly lightened up with the idea.
“Yes Gai-sensei! I think that is an excellent idea!” Lee swung his backpacks over to his chest and went to Neji, bending in way so that Neji could get on.
“No way!” Neji sighed before turning to me. I eyes widened as he came over to me.
“No, no, no, don’t you dare Lee!” He grabbed my waist and threw me up in the air, before I fell down onto his back. It may have been two years but… Remember two years ago I was obviously 13/14 and my body was the size of an eight year old? Well in the last two years I actually grew, all my features that of 16 year old, but my height was a lousy 145cm, the same height as Naruto when he was 12! I started anime crying as I thought about how short I was actually, not caring if my tears flew right off my face because of Lee’s running and the wind….
We finally reached the village, after 5 miserable hours…
“I am second Gai-sensei!” Lee cheered happillly.
“No Lee, because Kakashi is on my back he was second, so you, were, third!” Lee started to cry and started sprouting about his shame. Gai then turned to me... he pointed a finger at me.
“And you! A lousy forth! How can you be called apart of Team Ten?!” I rolled my eyes and walked away. They were just going to give a report and Naruto most probably will go to find all the lads he hasn’t seen in two years. I have seen them, but only a little. I guess Shikamaru and the rest probably have forgotten about me… Typical. I made my way to the Konohagakure Intelligence Division and not even needing to consult with the secretaries, I made my way to Ibiki’s office. He wasn’t there so I went to sit in his seat. I spun around a few times, each time spotting the window and everything outside, and then a bookcase, the door, and random things up against the wall. I stopped when I saw a stack of paper in the front right corner of his table, meaning it was for me. I took the paper and smirked. I had a mission to interrogate a traitor tomorrow. His name is Mizuki… I smirked and got up, deciding to go for some ramen or something. Or maybe sautéed enokitake. It was Ibiki’s favourite food dish, so he would always treat me to these mushrooms if I did something really good. My first missions and first interrogations being exceptions. When it wasn’t sautéed enokitake, it would always be something with a lot of meat. He had strange taste, and his name is weird. It means “a snore in the forest”. I once confronted him about his name…worst 30 seconds of my life…
“Hey, Kaiya!” I turned around to see TenTen smiling happily. “All the other teams are celebrating Naruto’s return, so we decided to join as well for your return!” She said and I smiled. They really were thoughtful… She grabbed my hand and dragged me into the barbeque shop where everyone was already having a nice time, with Choji stealing all the food… *sigh* …
