You finished setting up the chairs, as Nathaniel helped Marinette in lifting the huge cake onto the table. Today was Alya's birthday, and you planned on giving her the best surprise birthday party for her. Luckily, you had gathered all of your classmates to help.

You took a deep breath, glancing at everyone's works. Even Nino was there to help.

"Hey!" Kim shouted. "Could someone place the banner up top? I'm helping someone out," he requested before continuing to help Alix in decorating the closed park.

You immediately took action and ran towards the scattered long paper. "Got it!" You were about to pick it up, until a hand covered yours. You looked up at the intruder only to be met with his green eyes.

"Hey, Y/N." Adrien smiled, his eyebrows raising.

"Adrien," you replied. You looked at the banner before gazing up at him again. "Uh, you don't need to... help me. I could do it."

He grinned. "It's okay. I want to help. I'll be here to help you if you fall." Adrien grabbed the side of the ladder and motioned for you to go. You hesitated for a bit before climbing the steps with the banner and tacks. After pinning the left side of the paper, you proceeded to place the other side up. While steadying, you suddenly felt your whole body being shaken. You looked down to see Adrien jiggling the ladder, with a sly grin on his annoying face. You glared at him, as if warning him to stop.

He didn't.

You begged,  slightly dragging your words. "Adrieeeeeen!" He laughed at you, even saying that you're cute. "Stop!" You looked at his face before he pushed it too roughly. You failed to balance yourself as you went down and down, your gaze at the skies, praying that you only get a minor injury, or atleast just a slight concussion. You closed your eyes and waited for the hard impact on the floor, and possibly sauced with your blood-

"Oof!" Someone grunted. Your opened eyes were met with green ones, slightly furrowed in possibly worry or concern. "Y/N, you're so heavy!"

You scoffed and slapped him in the shoulder, jumping off of his arms. You pretended to brush the dusts in your clothes and looked at him in hesitation. "Thanks. I guess." You walked off, hearing him chuckle as he placed his hand on his neck.

Finally, the whole place was finished. Everyone waited for Alya and Nino to show up after he distracted her, like going to a zoo. Marinette came in with a birthday cake so tall that Adrien even came to help her. You shushed them after hearing Nino talked so loud; it was a signal that they're coming over pretty soon.

"Surpise!" All of you shouted. Alya gasped in surprise and screamed so loud. She ran towards you and gave you the biggest hugs.

"Thanks, guys!!" Alya exclaimed. "This is the best birthday ever!"

You beamed. "It's just getting started!" And on cue, Luka and his band played music as you all ate food at the table. Surprisingly, there were no akuma attacks like it was all set up to be a perfect day.

It was now time for gifts, and you were the first one to give your present to your best friend. Alya was really happy receiving it, she didn't care if it was big or small. As long as it was from the heart, she appreciated it. Everyone else gave her a gift; either it was homemade or expensive.

After all that, everyone danced again to the beat of the music. As they were having fun, you were at the tables, drinking punch. You watched them from a distance. Although you really wanted to dance, you admit that you're not really good at it. You just tapped your foot. That counts as dancing, right?

"Hey," a hand entered your vision. You looked to where the arm connected, and you guessed it, it was from the blond. "Wanna dance?"

You stared at him with no expression at all. "No, thank you." You sighed and drank from your cup, seeing Adrien still looking at you, confused. "I don't dance, okay?"

"Oh, come on. Anyone can dance." He pulled your arm in hopes of giving in, but you didn't even move an inch. "Come onnnnn, please?" He dragged his words and pouted like a puppy.

You clicked your tongue at him and frowned. "No, no, no."

Behind his big head, you saw Alya waving at you as she smiled. "Come on, girl! Dance!"

Your eyes then focused back at Adrien. Your mind hesitated before you shook your head and pulling him into the dancefloor. "Alright, Agreste. If that's what you want, fine. But just one dance."

Adrien smirked. "Sure." His head turned towards Nino and nodded. The DJ nodded back and placed a CD and played it. The place's atmosphere turned a completely 180 degrees and it went from fun to romantic, as Nino played a slow song. Everyone found their partners and started dancing. Alya and Nino were so into it, like they were truly a couple a few years ago. What if they were...?

You were completely flustered as Adrien guided you through the dancefloor with your hand on his shoulder, while his hand was on your waist and your other hands were holding each other. The whole time, he was smile at you, but all you did was blush and be baffled by all of this. You were so awkward that you didn't even move and let Adrien do the dancing by himself.

Suddenly, Alya and Nino came beside you. Alya twirled next to you and put your hands around Adrien's neck as she then put Adrien's hand on your waist. She turned around again and faced Nino, continuing their dance.

You looked at Adrien. He smiled and shrugged non-chalantly and decided to rest his head on your shoulders. Before he did, you straight off pushed him and pursed your lips. You stepped backwards before running off.

As you escaped, you tried to arrange your thoughts and luckily arrived at the nearest restroom. You slammed the door shut and exhaled through your mouth. This cannot be happening. This cannot be happening. This cannot be happening. This cannot be happening. This cannot be ha-

A slight knock interrupted your train of thoughts. You gazed at the door and waited for a voice.

"Y/N?" You heard the familiar voice of your best friend. "Are you okay?"

You sighed quietly, before opening the door and stepping outside. "Yeah," you smiled at her and took a deep breath. "I am perfectly fine!"

Alya gave you a suspicious glance. "Not what I saw after you pushed him away! Girl, what were you thinking?!"

"I-I don't know! Why are you pushing us to be together?" You whisper-yelled, grabbing her in the shoulder. "I told you once, I told you a hundred times; we'll never be together. Ever. So would you please cut it out?"

Alya paused before nodding. You gently let go of your hands before smiling at her slightly. You said, "Thank you."

You saw her eyes went to look behind you. Suddenly, she feigned a smirk upon her lips, and her eyes went wide. "Well, lookie here." You turned around as well, watching Adrien and Marinette dancing together with the sad song still playing. They both seemed to enjoy their company, seeing as they closed their eyes.

You turned back at Alya and shrugged with a fake pout as an expression. "Guess he likes someone else already. Aw." You sarcastically whined.

Alya rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "You're so difficult sometimes."

"But you love me." You gave her a confident smile.

She sighed. "Of course I do." Your best friend hugged you tightly, as you gladly hugged her back as tight. "Thank you for all of this." She let go. "This has to be the best birthday ever."

"You know it." You laughed. "Now, go have fun! It's your birthday after all!"

Alya chuckled before making her leave towards Nino. You guessed that they were a couple now.

Meanwhile, looking back at both Marinette and Adrien leaves a small smirk on your face. "Glad he's not annoying me anymore." Turning around, your smile was suddenly replaced by a sad frown.
