Mabel burst into the room. She had a big smile on her face and looked more excited than usual. But when she saw Dipper with Pacifica huddled up next to him her face darkened.

"Well brobro I guess you found yourself a new sidekick." Then she stalked away to the den.

I backed away from Pacifica flustered by the physical contact and sudden outburst of my sister.

"Sorry Dipper, I've just been a little jumpy ever since... you know."

"Ya I know." My mind irreversibly went back to the events of the last few days but I pushed then away.

*TIME SKIP*

I got into bed tired as a dog. Pacifica was sleeping on the couch in our living room and I had told her to not use the TV but I could already heard it splurging out bad comedies and noisy reality shows. I sighed and pulled back my covers, hauling my butt out of bed to go tell Pacifica to stop.

As I walked down the stairs the TV quieted substantially, I thought about going back upstairs but decided to keep walking. Pacifica was lounging on the couch and didn't look at all surprised to see me come in.

"Hey." She replied not really looking at me.

"Sup'"

"Since when did you say sup'?"

I ignored her and moved around to the back of the couch to see what she was watching, it was an old rerun of icarly, Freddie's mom was trying to get Freddie and Sam to break up because she thought that Freddie deserved better.

"Arn't we a little too old for that show now?"

Pacifica rolled over and looked at me leaning on the back of the couch. She rolled her eyes, "They're way older than us fundip."

"Yah but it's made for kids." Her provocative pose was distracting me so I moved around to the front of the couch and sat down on the floor leaning up against it.

She mumbled something that I couldn't hear. "What was that?"

She said louder, "Don't judge me ok?"

I put my hands up defensively, "I wasn't judging."

"Just shut up and watch the show or go to bed."

I nodded looking back at the screen Sam was just admitting that she loved Freddie and even though it was a little cheesy, I had to admit my fanboy side was coming out a bit. When the credits started rolling Pacifica sighed and switched it off.

It was completely dark, because the only light had been coming from the TV, then Pacifica spoke up. "That's probably my favorite episode."

"Why?"

"Because it's one of the funnier ones and Freddie shows that he really loves Sam, enough to not take a SUPER expensive gift from his mom and to not break up with her when she ruined his chances of getting into his prestigious summer camp." It was silent for a little longer.

"So he loves her for who she is, completely." I asked more as a question than a statement.

"Pretty much. Yes."

In the dark Pacifica reached over and ruffled up my hair, "I'm gonna sleep now. Bye."

"Goodnight."

Back in my room I put myself to bed for the second time that night. Pacifica had seemed much nicer tonight than usual, more sensitive, less concerned about herself. Maybe the war really had changed her. I reached over to my nightstand and grabbed the piece of paper Wendy had given me.

My fingers found where she had written her name and I traced the "W" then the "E" memorizing her handwriting. Gradually I feel asleep wondering where Wendy was right then, and if she was thinking of me. And right before I lost consciousness I thought of Pacifica sleeping almost below me on the floor below mine.
