About RimuClan

RimuClan and the other two Clans live in Arthur's Pass in New Zealand, a version with no humans. RimuClan lives in the temperate forest.

RimuClan is a militaristic Clan, placing high value on fighting skill and defending themselves. One of the ways they enact this is by splitting the warriors into three groups based on fighting ability. The Legion is an elite fighting group that only the best get into. Legion warriors are admired throughout the Clan. Secondary warriors make up the majority of the Clan, cats with decent and good fighting skills. They are respected though not admired. Lesser warriors are the cats with bad fighting skills, something more uncommon due to the emphasis placed on fighting.

RimuClan has war parties, celebrating the beginning of a battle and the victory. They also have battle songs. When fighting, Legion warriors paint three stripes with crushed raspberry to mimic blood. Secondary warriors paint two stripes, and lesser warriors paint one.

Apprentices must pass a fighting test to become a warrior, and are then sorted into their group. Apprentices cannot immediately become Legion fighters as they don't have the skill required. They must pass a specialised Legion fighting test to join.

When cats die, after decomposition, the medicine cat retrieves the skull and it gets decorated with natural dyes (from berries) telling of significant life events, drawings of family, etc. Anyone important to the deceased is allowed to paint.
