Next Day

Sam POV

Joe had asked us to meet him at the fountain in the town centre and we had gotten there way too early because Tyler was really excited to see him again and he just couldn't wait. I was excited to see Joe again too, after the show the three of us had hung out for a little while, the whole time Joe had either held my hand or kept an arm around my shoulder, it was almost like he thought if he let go of me I'd leave.

"What time did he say he'd....."

"ROMAN!" Tyler shouts cutting Hannah off before taking off running, before I can follow him I see Joe sweep him up with one arm chuckling whilst Tyler hugs him.

"Hey buddy how you doing today?" he asks

"I'm good" Tyler smiles "Roman are you Aunty Sam's boyfriend?" he asks and I feel myself blushing furiously

"Aunty Sam and I are really good friends" Joe smiles giving me a wink

"But friends don't kiss" Tyler says making Joe laugh

"Oh you're smart" he says "I'll tell you what I'll let you in on a little secret" he says leaning into his ear and whispering something  to him making him giggle.

Joe puts Tyler down and greets Hannah with hug before handing her a bag "The twins and I signed some stuff for my little buddy here" he smiles

"Thank you, you really didn't need to do that" she says slightly stunned

"I wanted to" Joe says "He's a great kid and I said I would make it to you all"

"Don't I get a hello big man?" I ask

"Of course" he says walking over to me and giving me a brief kiss before wrapping me up in a hug "I would never forget about you"

"So what did you tell him?" I ask and he tightens his arms around me

"Mmm I can never get enough of your hugs" he says nuzzling into my neck

"Joe...What did you tell him?" I chuckle

"Oh I can't tell you that" he smirks "that's our secret right buddy" he says holding out his fist to Tyler

"Right" Tyler smiles fist bumping him

"Alright where would you ladies like to go for lunch" He asks wrapping his arm around my shoulders

"Oh um Tyler is a little fussy with food so we usually let him choose where we go" Hannah explains "I hope that's ok"

"Fine by me" Joe smiles "What would you like to eat buddy?" he asks Tyler

"McDonalds" Tyler smiles "Please"

"McDonalds it is" Joe smiles, Joe and I walk together as Hannah and Tyler walk on ahead.

"Are you sure about this? I wouldn't want you to get mobbed" I say

"It's fine feisty, little man wants McDonalds so that's what he's getting" he says

As we walk Joe's hand moves from my shoulder down my back and into the back pocket of my jeans, I blush slightly but lean into him a little, I had no idea what this man was doing to me but I was so confused, I'm scared to death that he'll hurt me yet at the same time when I'm with him I feel safe and I want to give him a chance. He's amazing with Ty and he definitely has Hannah's seal of approval.

"Do you have children Joe?" I ask out of curiosity

"No not yet" he smiles "I hope to one day, why do you ask?"

"It's just you're so good with Ty I thought maybe you were a dad yourself" I smile back

"No but I am an Uncle" he says "There are quite a few kids in my family"

"Thank you for being so good with him it means a lot" I say and Joe stops walking and turns me to face him

"He's important to you right?" he asks and I nod "well you are important to me and if he is important to you then he's important to me too"

I say nothing just lean up and press my lips against his, he wraps his arms around me and pulls me close and in that moment I know that Hannah is right, this is where I need to be and my plans for tonight are as good as cancelled.

We break the kiss and continue walking, as we do Joe places his hand back in my jeans pocket and I can't help but smile. When we get to the restaurant Hannah, Tyler and I find a table while Joe goes to get the food.

While we wait Hannah allows Tyler to look through the bag of stuff Joe gave her, as he pulls things out one by one his smile just gets bigger and bigger.

"So are you still seeing you know who tonight?" she asks and I shake my head

"No I'm not" I say taking out my phone and sending him a quick text "There cancelled"

"Good" she smiles "I'm glad you've seen sense"

Joe places the food on the table and we all tuck in, while we eat Joe and Tyler have wrestling matches with the action figures that were in the bag of goodies. The more I watch him with Tyler the more I'm sure about my decision.

When we've finished eating we head out of the restaurant and Hannah turns to Joe.

"Thank you Joe for lunch and the gifts for Tyler" she smiles "hopefully we will see you again soon"

"It's my pleasure" he smiles "and you will definitely see me again, well that's if Sam wants to see me again" he says looking at me

"I'd love to see you again" I smile and he kisses the side of my head

"Well I need to get him home" Hannah says "I need to wind him down or he won't sleep tonight"

"of course" Joes says "Would you mind if I keep Sam for a little longer?" he asks

"She's all yours" she smirks "I'll talk to you soon" she says giving me a hug before they leave

As I watch them leave Joe wraps his arms around me from behind and rests his chin on my shoulder "I told him that I'd like you to be my girlfriend" he says and I stiffen before turning in his arms.

"Joe I really like you" I say placing my hands on his arms and he looks worried "I just....I'm scared" I say looking down

"Why are you scared?" he asks lifting my chin

"Before the holiday I caught my fiancé in bed with my now ex best friend" I sigh "The holiday was supposed to be my honeymoon, I'm scared because I don't want to get hurt again Joe"

 "I understand" he says "Just before that holiday I had finalised my divorce, neither of us were looking for anything but we found each other any way, I see that as a sign, I would never hurt you Sam"

"Can we take things slow?" I ask "I want to give us a chance but I need you to be patient with me"

"Of course we can" he says "you set the pace and I'll follow your lead, nothing happens unless you want it to, as far as I'm concerned you're my girl and I'm taken but we don't have to put a label on it until you are ready"

"You are amazing do you know that?" I ask smiling up at him

"No I'm not" he says blushing slightly "I just try to be a good man that's all"
