The storm

The waves began to swell and toss, knocking against the small ship, slowly forming a roller coaster ride of waves. Sunset fought with the wheel, keeping the ship pointed directly into the wind and waves. Water splashed over the deck, everyone above was soaking wet before the rain had even hit, and when it did it bucketed down, pelting the crew with stinging cold water.

The newcomer, the wolf with a sharks tail, woke. He looked around wearily, noticing that he was no longer on his own ship, suddenly he remembered, two days ago a storm had hit them, he couldn't remember much, only that he had gone overboard, the memory of watching the huge ship sinking slowly into the dark below him. He was an only survivor he guessed, he shook his head, no time to grieve for his lost companions now, he needed to figure out what was going on. He looked around, he was in a wooden ship, below deck. Someone had given him a change of clothing, wait... were these.. pirate clothes? No time. He could here thick wall of water slamming into the hull, it was another storm. He wriggled free of The ropes holding him against a wooden pole below deck, Val huddled on his bunk, his large, messy tail wrapped around him and his knees pulled into his chest, muttering to himself  "storms are never a good sign, there'll be so much work to be done after" The wolf snuck past him quietly, opening the hatch and peeking out, frizz, jack, sunset and Albin were distracted by work and rain, definitely pirates.

The wolf climbed up and onto the slippery deck, he ran carefully to the head of the ship, stopping dead as he watched the large wave swelling before them, it was  larger then anything the crew had seen before, but he knew this wave, it was what had killed his last crew aboard that battle ship, a strong  build that couldn't withstand the strength of the mighty wave, it was crushed beneath the weight of the water like a can and sunk, killing all but himself, there was very little chance this tiny wooden pirate ship would survive the same fate. The wolf dashed across the ship, yelling out "everyone! Get below deck! Now!" He raced across the ship, ignoring the rain and slippery deck, yet the others ignored his urgent cries. Sunset looked up at the newcomer irritably as he ran up onto the raised deck, stopping beside her "why aren't they listening to me? Get below deck! There's an aphid wave coming! it'll destroy us all,  I know the extent of its power please!" He was urgent, scared. He felt the need to keep these strangers alive, despite being pirates, they HAD rescued him after all, any longer and he would have drowned for sure.

Sunset looked up at the wave rising up before them, covering the little amount of light they had left, boring down on them like a fierce monster here to swallow them whole. Sunset dipped her head "they won't listen to ya mate cus I'm the cap'n here, they follow by my orders" she turned to the crew "do as the wolf shark says! get below deck!" She snapped, turning to Albin and placing a hand on his head "that means you too my friend" Albin looked at her with surprise "no, I'm staying with you." "You have to go, it's safer down there" the wolf hopped from one foot to the other nervously "you both have to come below, please" he begged, Albin nodded "I'm not going without you captain" he argued, sunset looked up nervously to the growing wave, there was no choice, "alright" she picked up the python and followed the wolf under, everyone huddled together, holding their breaths as the wave grew closer and closer.
"Since we may die, my names mello, I was a gunman aboard the ss 'bulgasari', it was sunk by a similar wave" he stuck out a hand to the captain, offering a handshake, but sunset stay where she was, holding Albin close beside her "we're not going to die." She said simply. Mello fell silent, then finally pulled his knees up to his chest and answered, "No, we won't."
