Prologue (See Him, Feel Him)

POV Belle

It’s really fascinating that Pitch once ruled a kingdom. The legendary one and which was one of the oldest kingdoms to ever exist. Now I’m here, looking at the kingdom which is enlightened by enormous moon. Yeah, their symbol is full moon and now I don’t even wonder why. It’s like moon is close to earth in this place. It’s so big and bright.

“So, Manny, you’ve been looking over this place for centuries?” I whispered as I walked over a bridge leading inside the gates. Everyone in the city was fast asleep. Everything was nice and quiet.

The castle was done from white stones that I recognized being moon stone. How in such pure place could be something evil? It’s like something so unthinkable.

When the morning comes I’m going to meet up with this prince Marco of Constellation of Orion. Straightforward approach is more like me than spying around.

“YAHOO! I’m so going to do it!” I cheered and then I realized that I just shouted at the middle of the night. In front of a castle.

“What are you going to do?” Someone laughed behind of me and I turn around. There’s a man smiling and looking at me.

“Nice to meet you again my lady,” the prince bows and looks into my eyes. My cheeks blushed and I cleared my throat.

“How long have you been there?” I questioned.

“Long enough to admire your beauty,” he winked his eye. “Nah, I was just taking my night walk while people aren’t watching and then I noticed someone familiar looking.. Weirdly sneaking around my castle.”

“I wonder who that weirdo is,” I sighed and looked around me.

“That weirdo is you,” Marco chuckled. His golden silver eyes are glancing at me and he offers me his hand.

I bit my lower lip as I watched his hand. He glances at his hand and then at me, it’s like he is figuring out something. “So you have some fear that you’ve not gone over,” Marco said and pulled out a pair of gloves from his pocket. Quickly he pulls them to cover his hand.

“What?” I gasped.

Marco sighed and offers his hand again. “Hey, now it’s okay. I was born like this,” he smiles and I let my hand touch his. Now nothing happened.

“What do you mean, born with it?” I asked quickly when he patted my hand.

“Everyone knows that I can show people their fears. Sometimes it’s useful though,” he shrugged his shoulders and laughed. I raised my eyebrow.

“Useful how?” I questioned.

“Well, I can see people’s fears too. It was used as a weapon in war once. It’s something that has been passed through generations to the first born sons of this kingdom. Why are you so curious?” He grinned and I pulled my hand away from his.

“Belle, please, let’s go inside to continue our chat. I would like to invite you as a guest,” he nodded towards the castle door.

The feeling that I got from him. It was like nothing of what I had felt before. No one has ever been so brave than he is, I can feel how strong his spirit is for being a human.

“Okay, do as you want,” he smiled and rubbed his neck as he left. I see how he is going inside the castle and I run. In just few seconds I caught up with him.

“I accept the offer,” I smiled and giggled a bit while I leaned against the door which he was about to open. I had squirmed my way between him and the door.

“Wow, you’re fast,” he whispered as his face was just few inches away from mine. I look away and I hear how the door handle clicks before he pushes the creaking door open.

He offered me some tea and I waited at the living room at his castle. Even the walls inside the castle were made from pure moon stone, decoration was white and so innocent. Soon I see him walking back with a tray.

“Would you like some black tea or just with lemon?” He asked as he gave me a cup.

“Black is fine,” I said and watched him pouring me the tea.

“I see that you hold the cup like you’re blue blooded,” Marco said when I took a sip. Slowly I put the cup down on the table.

“My brother is Jackson Frost,” I said simply and he nodded his head in approval.

“So you’re a princess?” Marco hummed and is looking at me. I feel so embarrassed right now when he is checking me, I’m just wearing my fiery red hoodie and black pants. I crossed my legs and I wave my leg nervously in the air. He chuckled and I squeeze the leather of my boot.

“No. I’m not a princess. I was born as a--,” I started but ended it short. How would I explain a mortal that I’m actually a Guardian, rare one since I was born as one.

“I see,” Marco whispered and took a sip of his tea. He didn’t take his eyes out of me and I cleared my throat and I looked at a huge wall cloth.

“The Moon. Why is it your kingdom’s symbol?” I asked.

I hear the cup touching the plate as he placed it down. “Well, as I said. The first born sons inherit the power of fear in here. It’s said that that’s the Moon’s dark power,” he said and was almost like wondering his words.

“It’s said.. Well, do you believe in it?” I questioned.

I heard Marco laughing. “That my dear is something worth thinking of. I see the moon as a pure thing but I don’t consider fear being dark and evil thing,” he smiled and I see him standing up.

“Would you follow me my lady? I can show you the guestroom,” he said politely and I stood up. First he took the tray back to kitchen and then we went to white marble staircase. He walked ahead and I glance at him.

“You’ve been checking me this whole time,” he said mischievously and I groaned.

“Yup, I touched the right spot,” he chuckled and I saw his eyes sparkling. Then he stopped and started coughing few stairs before we got to top. When he stopped his breath was hitching and I saw him wiping something red to his sleeve.

“Are you--,” I asked but he chuckled.

“I’m fine, okay. So take right and first door on the left is a free guestroom. I’m waking up at 7am so meet me at here at 8am? It’s better that we go to breakfast together. My sister will surely fell in love with you,” he grinned.

“Why would you think like that?” I sighed.

“Because you’re a fun person,” he shrugged and went to left and wished me good night.

The guest bedroom was really nicely decorated. However I didn’t plan to stay here for the night. I pulled out a snowglobe from my hoodie’s pocket and asked it to take me to Emma.

The portal brought me into Emma’s home. She raised her head when she noticed my arrival and I see her smiling. “How is the kingdom of Constellation of Orion?” She asked and came to hug me.

I bit my lower lip, “I guess that Jonathan is somewhere with your child?” Emma nodded her head and embraced me tightly.

“Yes, it’s safe to speak. I was so worried about you” She sighed.

“I know,” I said quietly and gave her a smile before telling her everything that I had find out about Marco.

Emma listened the whole time and she frowned after I finished. “You should be careful since he is the descendant of our late enemy, Pitch,” Emma told me.

“I know but I need to go back. It’s about the time when I ‘m supposed to join for breakfast at his castle.” I laughed a bit and then Emma gave me one more quick hug. She gasped a little.

“What?” I grinned to her and she laughed nervously.

“You just felt warmer than normally,” Emma shrugged her shoulders and I rolled my eyes while pulling out a snow globe.

Soon I was back at the guestroom at the Constellation of Orion. I waited for one hour and then went outside. I see that Marco is already standing near the stairs. When he heard me he turned around. My eyes widen as I look at him. He was wearing black straight pants, black uniform coat that was trimmed with silver patterns that twirled on the sleeves and in the front as well as in the collar.

“Took you quite some time to actually get up,” he smiled slyly and was walking down the stairs when I got to him. His hand runs through his well kept short black hair.

“Yup,” I laughed.

“It’s funny,” he chuckled.

I raised my eyebrow. “What is?” I questioned.

“That my first actual friend is from a kingdom that was once considered as an enemy,” he chuckled and I froze to the second last step of the stairs. I’m remaining there, staring at him.

He stopped at the end of the stairs and he turns around. He has a devious look on his face and I held my breath while I placed my other hand behind my back, I’m building up a small flame and getting ready to attack.

“I really do like you Belle. It’s so good that we’re more open minded in here nowadays,” he laughed and I let the flame die behind of me.

“So.. why Constellation of Orion was considering Arendelle as enemy?” I sighed and he looks surprised.

“Don’t you know? The war where my ancestor died was between Arendelle and Constallation of Orion. Well, it later turned out that the fear drove my ancestor mad and he tried to destroy Arendelle which was starting to bloom and be mighty kingdom. That’s when the Moon abandoned him and he was killed,” Marco told me.

Then he shrugged his shoulders, “That’s what the legend says. Anyway.. how about some breakfast? I’m starving.” He laughed and started to walk again. I follow him quietly and I’m thinking his words all over and over again in my head.
