Pov Elsa

”Hey, Emma!” Jack was yelling after our four year old daughter. She was again playing with forest animals. This time it was a graceful looking deer. She was giggling when the deer licked her face. “Sorry daddy! I just like furry animals,” she came to us smiling her bright and warm smile.

She is a natural talent when it comes to animals or nature. She talks with animals like Jack can talk to wind and as I see people’s souls that ache. Her abilities don’t end in her being an animal whisperer, she actually feels the nature that surrounds her. She knows when a tree needs time to rest when winter is closing in, by one single touch she makes the tree sleep whole winter. “Emma, make the deer stop!” Jackie had been following us from behind and it seemed that as soon as Emma left the deer its attention went to Jackie. Our 8 year old was being pushed around by deer, both Emma and Jack bursted into laughter.

“It is just a deer Jackie,” I turned around and smiled to Jackie. “Mom! It is pushing me!” He was holding his hands in front of him as the deer made a friendly gesture by pushing its head against him. Emma giggled and went to his brother, gently she pet the deer and then whispered something to it. Soon the deer hopped deeper in the forest and left us.

“Dad!” Jackie was shouting to Jack who was flying now few meters further. Soon he got to us and landed in front of Jackie. “What is it kiddo?” Jack asked warmly and messed Jackie’s hair. “Dad! Not my hair again!” Jackie was first a bit frustrated before he actually exclaimed the thing he had to say. “I want to fly too!”

Jack chuckled and nodded to him. They were now flying towards the pond in the forest. Me and Emma made our way by walking. Jack wanted to surprise the children with skating. Yeah, the weirdest part is that it is June. He wants to freeze the pond so we could skate.

As we arrived to the middle of the forest and the pond I saw Jack making some ice skates to him and Jackie. Soon Jack froze the pond’s surface and they started skating. It was fun to look at since they both knew how to do it – with wind power. Emma and I watched their stunts and how they had fun for a while.

Suddenly Emma went near the pond and I thought that she wanted to skate also. However her hand went over the ice and it glow warmly while I saw that the ice started to melt. “Watch out!” Was the only thing I was able to shout to my life’s two of most important people. Ice was cracking and both Jack and Jackie stop skating.

Next images were like flashes when I saw Jack quickly using his staff throwing Jackie out from the ice. It was like a replay from the time when he saved his sister except now it was his son. The ice melted away and Jack fell to water and his head went beneath the water’s surface. “Jack!” I yelled in panic.

Jackie was sitting on the pond’s edge still wearing his skates. He was looking at the spot where Jack had just disappeared from sight. My right hand went on my mouth while I watched the sight on terror. Seconds felt like ages and Emma was pulling my dress. “Where did daddy go?”

Suddenly I saw a hand splashing on the water’s surface. Then a staff was coming out of the water. For my relief Jack came to surface while gasping for air. It was like the water almost exploded when he used his wind power to blast him out from the water’s embrace. He was dripping water when he landed to us, Jackie had broken his skates and run to him. Immediately he hugged his dad. I was still trying to swallow the lumps from my throat and tried not to cry even though it would be now from joy to see him alright.

Jack hugged Jackie back for a while but then his face turned from a smile to a more serious one. He looked at Emma and seemed upset. “Emma,” Jack started, “don’t ever do anything like that again. Someone might have got really hurt.” This I was agreeing silently since the situation was really dangerous. Jack went under water and what if that would have happened to Jackie. He is still mortal so..no, I can’t think it further.

Emma looked both of us, first Jack and then me by repeating it couple of times. Then she sighed and started to move uncomfortably. Even I would do so when two parents are just standing there and demanding for answer with their presence only. “I..I am sorry,” Emma sounded heartbroken. Her lower lip started to shake and I couldn’t stand it anymore. I fell to my knees and took her to my embrace. “Listen to me Emma, no more things like that. We are not happy but we are not mad at you.” She gave me wrapped her tiny arms around my neck and cried to my hair.

With faint smile I glanced at Jack who was just squeezing some water from his hoodie. As our eyes met he smiled back at me. Really we couldn’t be mad to our children ever. We loved them so much. “Is Emma grounded?” Jackie was sounding curious while he stand behind of me.

“No she isn’t,” Jack laughed and Jackie messed his sisters hair. “You get it easy sis!” Jackie smirked to Emma who was really upset when her hair got all tangled. “Mommy! Jackie teases me again!” I tried to hold my laugh when Emma sounded so insulted, ”Mommy will make you a new hairstyle at castle.” I winked to Emma who giggled with joy.

We decided to head back to castle since Jack got wet throughout in the pond. Children were having fun watching their dad walking. His normal style of walking is funny always since he uses wind mostly so his movements are bit overdone. This time there was more to it. Jack had trouble of walking because his clothes were freezing, they were frosting throughout and becoming ice solid. Even I giggled to the sight when he had to go crab walk the rest of the way. He gazed at me to let me know that he didn’t see it funny.

“You have to admit Jack, you look like some sort of sea creature with your walk,” I winked at him and he rolled his eyes. “Haha, really funny,” he showed his tongue and smirked. “Kids, time to give daddy a lesson right? It is rude to show people tongue, am I right?” Jack started to wave his head wildly from side to side. Children on the other hand were yelling in excitement and nodding. “So, Jack. You know what this means? Three against one.”

With huge satisfaction I started to mold an enormous snowball in the air. Jack was looking in the air with shock then his eyes started to look at me. He made little head shaking but I snapped my fingers together and laughed with children when Jack was buried in snow. He tried get away like he always does but this time he fell to ground since his frozen solid clothes prevented him from moving.

“Help daddy out,” I told the kids and crossed my arms while I watched. Emma was warming the snow from around him. Jackie was either digging or using wind, he didn’t seem to be able to decide which. Soon we found Jack who was stuck. “Want a hand?” I offered him my hand which he grabbed and pulled me to him. He gave me a kiss. “You’re my crazy woman,” he whispered to my ear and made me blush.

POV Jack

After I got my clothes unfrozen sitting in front of a fireplace we all had hot chocolate. Summer or not our family wants their hot chocolate! It was already evening and soon our children went to their beds to sleep. Elsa told them her favorite good night story which always made me feel embarrassed. Yeah, she told them about Jack Frost. About me, weird if you really think of it. Other stories she loved to tell were about Sandy, Tooth, North and Bunny. There were other stories too but Emma and Jackie seemed to enjoy stories about the Guardians.

However they always wanted to hear one specific story from me, yeah. From me! It was a story from a beautiful queen who shut herself from the world for many years before she accepted herself. She had magnificent beauty and she was smart. She was amazing in many ways, did I already tell you that she had special talents? She could control ice and snow, like Jack Frost. This story was also about a Guardian that everyone loves. Me especially, it was the story from their mother.

They wanted to hear about the Ice Queen again about their mother so Elsa just smiled and made a small eye roll effect. Then she left the children’s bedroom to let me tell them about her. Never did they satisfy with just one story. After I told them the story they were fast asleep. Again they had begged me to tell them about how I fell in love with Elsa. They will hear that part eventually, when they are a bit older.

I smiled and sneaked out from the bedroom after I tucked them in. Elsa wasn’t in our bedroom so I went downstairs. At this hour she might be sitting in front of the grand fireplace like she sometimes does. There she was again, I noticed when I arrived to great living room of the castle. However she wasn’t alone.

“Good that you came, Jack.” King Kristoff spoke to me and I did an honoring nod. “Stop that Jack, you’re embarrassing me!” Kristoff laughed. Anna was holding Kristoff from his arm. ”So, what is up?” I smiled and jumped to sit in the armchair, I leaned my head to my staff. “We have something important to discuss about,” Anna smiled faintly.

Everyone sat down and Anna took a deep breath, “As you know we have Sofia and she is now seven,” Elsa and I glanced to each other while being unsure where this was going. Then Anna continued, “We have just been notified that I can’t have more children.” Elsa looked sad, “I am so sorry Anna!”

Anna and Elsa gave each other a hug. Me and Kristoff were just reading each other by looking, I smiled to him faintly which he responded the same way. Kristoff went to Anna and placed his hands on her shoulders, they glanced each other and started to smile widely.

Kristoff started to speak, “We are quite certain at this point that Sofia might someday marry someone from other kingdom.” Elsa seemed puzzled and so did I feel. Kristoff smiled even wider, “I and Anna have wondered if one of your children might take over the kingdom some day? I mean if we don’t have an heir to throne.”

That sure was huge amount of important information. Elsa glanced at me and I nodded to her. She started to speak, “I guess it is alright. However it is possible only if one of them chooses to remain as mortal. Otherwise it is impossible.” Anna and Kristoff nodded in approval.

“So, guess what this means,” Elsa squeeled to Anna and they hold each other’s hands. “They will learn the royal dressing and behavior,” Anna squeeled back. My daze was broken, “Learn what?” I gasped. ”They will be trained to be possible future rulers,” Elsa smiled and I sighed. I guess it can’t be helped. “Alright dear,” I went to Elsa and took her to my embrace and kissed her forehead.
