POV Jack

It had been a month now since she promised to be my wife and even better I will be a father. Currently I’m flying back to Arendelle from a country from far away. It’s may so I figure that there will be spring and next month is our marriage ceremony.

I hope Elsa is doing fine. I had to leave her for a month because I had to do some guardian work tracking Pitch – which didn’t work out and make it snow in few places that had late spring this year. I ride in the wind and occasionally go closer to ocean surface and splash some water with my hands. Swimming is out of the question though.

There it is. Arendelle, I see Elsa’s castle where she is the Queen. I hope that she is not mad because I didn’t have time to visit. Next month will be busy when we do final touches to our wedding, I mean the invitations have been sent so there is some simple things to arrange anymore. Right?

I flew to her bedroom. “ Hi my sweetheart.” I think I saw a glimpse of happiness on her face and then she started to scary me.

“Jack, where have you been? We need to do lots of things. “ She gave me a list and I swear it was one feet long. “ We need to decide the theme, flowers, music, colors, food, party favors, sitting order etc.” My eyes came wide and I was shocked. “Well my dear, I just need you and our friends.”

“But Jack. The whole town is invited and your fellow guardians and my family.” Elsa was freaking out.

“Elsa calm down. Think about the baby. Are you sure about the towns people? They will think you’re odd because most people don’t see me.” I hugged her and touched her lips with my hands so she would be quiet.

She started smiling. “Oh yeah, about that. We made a campaign in our town so this is the world’s one and only place where everyone believes in guardians. Even the adults do.”

“Uh.. You’re joking? “ she shook her head from side to side. “Wow that’s amazing!” I yelled and lifted her in the air.

The doors slammed open and I saw a guard in the opening. I was still holding Elsa in the air and just stared at the guard. “ Are you alright your highness?” He looked in the room and stared at me straight in the face. “ I’m sorry my Queen for interrupting. Please tell us before you have visitors or the future king visiting.” He bowed.

“ You may dismiss” Elsa said to her guard. “Quite annoying but Anna insisted that I have a guard outside my door since becoming pregnant and engaged to you. She kissed me on my lips and I gently put her back on her feet.

I let my hand go through my hair. “Well, I guess they do see me but about that king thing. I cannot be a king because I have other duties and I’m immortal. You know.” I watched her closely and was uncertain about her reaction.

She took my hand and pulled me to sit with her on her bed. “I won’t be expecting that from you and I know it. They don’t know it yet. I will leave my throne after I become the guardian someday.” She was so sure and determined looking while speaking to me. “ You told me that after marrying you I will someday and somehow die and become a guardian and can stay with you. Anna knows this too but Kristoffer doesn’t. He might have some issues becoming a king but we think that he will start to like it. “ She laughed.

I smiled to her and gave her a kiss that wasn’t too passionate. She pushed me back. “Jack, we must go shopping! Some wedding things you know. I think winter would be great theme even though you wanted our wedding to my birthday 25th of June.”

Shopping? This could be fun. “Let’s go my darling. Winter sounds fine and I think that a few ice sculptures could be easily arranged by us.”

Two hours later.

“ Uhh… Elsa, please. Just buy yourself a wedding gown already. They are all NICE.” I rolled my eyes and was still sitting on a big comfy sofa in the same shop for two hours. It was a private room for special guests like royals.

She smiled to my and showed her tongue. “ Well Jack, I just wanted to try some dresses on. I will do my dress from ice myself.” My jaw dropped and she changed back to her ice dress which was this time more purple than blue and had ice crystals. She dragged me from the shop outside and towards some shop on other side of the street.

“No, no! No more dresses” I was trying to stop with help of my staff. “No you silly, now we will decide the flowers”. Oh yeah, there was a flower shop next to a dress shop.

I went inside the flower shop and saw flowers in all colors. Smelling the flowers was nice and looking them at close. Flowers were one thing I liked and snowflakes of course. They were beautiful.

“What kind of flowers are you looking for?” A small orange haired girl was standing next to me. I looked behind me and saw no one. Elsa was on counter speaking to a bearded man.

“ Are you asking from me?” I pointed myself and looked at the girl. “Yes sir. Who else?” she was smiling to me.

“Uh, we are looking some flowers to wedding. Me and her.” I nodded on Elsa’s direction and put one of my hands inside my hoodie’s hole.

“ So mister. You’re the mysterious Jack Frost if you are marrying our Queen?” She asked with a giggle.

“ You could say that. Yes.” I felt little uncomfortable for her staring me. She ran on backroom and I heard things like someone is cute, handsome and mysterious and lots of girls giggling.

A white rose caught my eye. I took it in my hand and almost had a heart attack when the girl came back and pulled my sleeve.

“I’m sorry if I scared you. In our town men always pick flowers for their bride’s bouquet. “ Oh no, I’m glad that she told me this.

“ Uh.. I want some periwinkles and these look nice. Do you have anything long and silver looking plants?” Elsa’s  favorite flower is periwinkle and I liked the look of that pure white rose. “ Well sir. We have silver falls that would look nice hanging from the bouquet.” she went to get the plant and showed me it.

“That is perfect!” I was happy. ” So Jack is now educated to our towns customs?” Elsa was standing beside me now and the girl made a small bowing to her.

“ I really like the bouquet you ordered  Jack.” Her smile could have melted the ice.

I walked out from the shop after her. “ Now we have the flowers. Some white orchids and silver sticks for table decorations and I also ordered you a small flower decoration for your chest. It matches to my bouquet. “ I guess women know everything that comes to planning a wedding.

“Next the cake!” Cake shop was huge and had lots of options. We decided to a ice blue cake with snowflake patterns. It had chocolate cake inside since she loves chocolate. Everyone seemed to see me and notice me. Towns girls were oddly giggling all the time when I told them that I’m really Jack Frost. Men wanted to know the reason for our fast marriage. Mortals are funny.

Little shopping couldn’t describe that day. We decided everything for the wedding. Even I have to wear a suit! Why can’t I wear my comfortable hoodie? Did I mention that she bought me leather boots? Custom made because she wants them to have embossed snowflakes. Girls are weird when it comes to weddings, I will wear the shoes only for one day and she wanted them custom made.

Tens of shopping bags were hanging from my staff that I held over my shoulders. I was walking behind Elsa thinking about our future. Then I stumbled on a wall. Elsa had stop in front of me.

“Oww.. Elsa, why did you stop so suddenly?” I rubbed my nose which I hit on her head. She was looking on a shops window with excitement on her eyes. I walked beside her and read the sign. “ Miracle of Life.” I watched inside the window and saw baby’s feeding bottles, clothes and other stuff. I rubbed my chin and glanced on Elsa.

She was on the door and going in. I looked around us and saw bunch of townspeople gathered around us. Oh, well.. no point of return now when I started hearing people whispering. Now everyone knows. I felt blush forming on my cheeks when I hurried inside right after her.

The shop was full of everything a baby could hope for. I heard the lady behind the counter greeding Elsa.

“Good day my Queen. How could I help you?” I was jut putting the bags on the ground and saw her smiling to Elsa. Then she saw me and to look at us both. I still had the blush on my cheeks when I was standing straight again.

“ Are you looking something for someone as a gift or perhaps for you?” The woman looked at us both and I could tell that she had summarized things up.

Next thing I lost my balance when I heard Elsa’s answer. “Well if we could just watch around if we find something nice.” I had to turn around and pretend that I watched something. There were diapers but my face looked like a tomato just now.

Elsa took my hand. “I want you to see something Jack”. She showed me a device that makes some music and swings above a cradle, it had star patterns. “ Well, I personally don’t think we need that.” her smile went missing.

 “ I could do this instead.” I waved my hand in the air and watched Elsa on the eyes. Five little bunnies formed from eyes and were hopping in the air. I couldn’t help laughing when I saw her happy face.

Even the saleswoman looked happy realizing what was going on. This will be the towns favorite gossip for few weeks or months. I rolled my eyes and smiled while Elsa was hugging me. Then I saw something on top shelf and took it in my hand. It made a sound.

Elsa was looking at the thing that I took in my hand. “ That is something new to you Jack? It is a baby’s rattle. Baby can hold it in hand and it makes a sound that child likes to hear.” She was smiling in my arms.

“ A rattle.” This could be fun. Maybe not this one exactly since it is pink and has some lace on it. Our baby needs something more suitable. I  smiled and nodded to her. I had an idea.

“ Could we go to visit other guardians tomorrow? You haven’t met them?” I asked Elsa while we left empty handed from the store. Well, I had the shopping bags but we didn’t yet pick anything for the baby. Outside the shop were more people than before. I noticed that few women rushed inside the store talking to the saleswoman after us. Even though Elsa’s stomach was mostly hidden because her chose of clothing that could fool most eyes, this couldn’t. Well after five months pregnancy it may be ok for townsfolk to know.

“ Yes we can Jack.”
