38 💋

Seokjin woke up in another unfamiliar room. He had bandages wrapped around his back. His heartbeat slowly started to increase as he realized that he still couldn't see.

As soon as his hands were touched, his first instinct was to reach out and grab the person
and hold onto it without hesitation.

"Namjoon!" To his surprise, the person he had called out wasn't so he was expecting.

"Seokjin, oh God. How did this happen?"

"Hyunseok...?" He felt a pair of arms wrap around his body, cuddling him. It was then that Seokjin realized his brother was crying, feeling his tears collide with his neck, slowly sliding down to his shoulder.

"Seokjin, I'm so sorry. This is all my fault!" His brother sobbed, feeling Seokjin's hands return his embrace. There they remained for a while, saying nothing. All they did was hold each other tight, afraid of letting go with the fear of losing each other again.

Seokjin and Hyunseok would feel completely lost without each other. Even if they fight, they can't last a week without each other.

At the moment, Hyunseok couldn't hold his tears back while apologizing to his brother, repeatedly.

"I-it's because of me that you're like this. I- I should have protected you." He cried as Seokjin caressed his back, letting out his own emotions on his brother as well.

"How did this happen, Seokjin? Who did this to you?"

"It was M..." A knock on the door left the twins in complete silence as a doctor entered the room.

"Seokjin, the doctor is here." He stayed by his brother's side, staring at the doctor who was examining his body.

"I'm going to shine a mini flashlight against your eyes; Follow my finger, avoid looking at the light, okay?" Seokjin followed the doctor's instructions... And the results weren't all great.

Hyunseok was in the room to witness it all, but had to exit it, as the test went on and Seokjin failed to pass the vision test.

"Doctor, is something wrong?"

Was all Hyunseok heard from Seokjin, right before he left the room, keeping his head down while pacing down a long hallway, just to get to the waiting room he was in before.

Within the waiting room, he found Namjoon, who's immediate reaction of seeing him was to stand up, looking for answers through him.

Instead of receiving an answer, Namjoon was left speechless when Hyunseok just bowed his head and shook it from side to side, in denial.

A denial that meant something went wrong with Seokjin.

A denial that Namjoon feared the most, was now coming to life.

"Hyunseok, what did the doctor say? What's wrong with Seokjin?" The man asked, rather loud, as he was desperate for answers.

"I don't know... I just saw Seokjin and... I can't bear the truth. I just won't be able to accept
it, Namjoon." He held his hands to his face, sighing. Namjoon excused himself and paced around the hospital, leaving Hyunseok behind.

Though he wasn't allowed to enter the examine room, he waited until no one was looking
and pressed his ear against the door to listen to everything the doctor was currently telling Seokjin.

"What does that mean, Doctor?"

"It means that your vision is gone, temporarily. In order to restore it, you'll have to wear special reading glasses and use eye drops every night. And to prevent injuring your eyesight
any further, you'll have to avoid using your phone, being too long in the computer or watching TV too closely.

Avoid sunlight at all cost. These are all the necessary precautions you have to take in order to be able to help your eyesight slowly heal. Judging by the MRI scan we took of your head.."

Namjoon listened closely, to hear what the doctor had to say.

"There weren't any cranium fractures, but you were very close to developing a brain haemorrhage due to an unknown inflammation growing from the back of your head. How did this happen to you? Did you hit your head against something?" He asked, concerned.

~~~
Time was up for Seokjin, he knew he had to tell the doctor the truth about everything, and he was definitely ready to expose the truth.
"I used to work at a club named Sin-X. My boss used to abuse me all the time, until I developed the courage to quit. Yesterday... I went to the club and started to drink... That's when he showed up and began to hit me." The doctor noted everything down as Seokjin continued to speak, unaware that Namjoon was listening the entire time.
He hadn't told Namjoon everything about last night. He was too embarrassed and hid a few things from him.
As far as Namjoon knew, Seokjin had gotten raped and beaten last night, but he didn't know every detail within that beating. He was completely clueless about the strong hits Seokjin had received to his head.
"He kept on pummeling my head with fists, stronger each time. By the time I left the club,
my vision had gotten very dull and dim, and I kept on getting these vertigos that would make me lose balance, along with a severe pain in my neck." The doctor was shocked by this news.
"Have you sued the man that did this to you, yet?" Seokjin shook his head.
"If he goes to trial, then he'll find a way to get out of jail. He's too wealthy." He shivered: The thought of Mister Jang finding him left him shaking.
"Why didn't you come to the hospital last night?" The doctor gently asked, feeling sorry for Seokjin.
"I couldn't physically move my body any longer. When I arrived at my boyfri- Boss." He corrected himself. "Boss' apartment, I was so weak and tired, I just collapsed on his bed and stayed asleep." He signed, feeling his state of mind worsening.
His need to cry was distracting him from talking properly, as there was a lump in his throat that wouldn't allow him to continue any further.
The doctor understood, feeling sorry for the man.
"I'm sorry about what happened to you, sir." He continued to speak, but Seokjin felt as if he couldn't listen any longer. His mind was blank, with nothing but a single thing on it: Crying.
"Do you know where we can locate him, Seokjin?" The doctor was closer to him now, asking him questions. Seokjin snapped out of his thoughts with a jump, unaware that the man had gotten so close.
He slowly nodded, feeling the first row of hot tears cascade from his tear ducts.
"I'm sorry, please give me a minute." His voice croaked. He then felt a pair of arms wrap around his shoulders, keeping away from his back to avoid injuring it.
The soft hands felt so warm. The chest he had pressed his head against felt so strong.
And the scent from the clothing was smooth, yet delicious.
Seokjin immediately held the body tightly in his arms, silently breaking down as empty sobs escaped his mouth.
"Namjoon..."
