I know I'm late with this chapter but I was having writing block and school started for me ;-;
But to the chapter!!!!!

Jay's POV:

As me and Cole were patrolling for tonight, thought we don't really get along with one another. Zane and Pix (a nickname for PIXAL) were on the opposite side of us, doing the same thing. While the others were back at the Bounty, or Nya and Kai are checking on their parents at their old home. Hopefully something dies happen like Cole having a moment with the enemy, mostly Moby. That great devourer with him, seems off. I can't put my finger on it.

"Jay!" Cole hushed at me, snacking the back of my head.

"Ow... what was that for?" I rubbed my head, glaring at the royal blacksmith.

"Your face was annoying me." He laughed at his own joke.

"You really need to focus and keep an eye out! Hidden, Overlord, Pythor, Hybrid or the Devourer could be planning an attack or are something!" I glared at Cole, for once I acted like an adult to him.

Which felt weird since he IS a little older than me. Cole was muttering something while I was thinking, so I just glared at him for a couple moments. Why did Lloyd forced me go with Cole? We are basically frienemies.

"Jay, look over here. " Cole hushed at me.

"But stay quiet..."

I nod as I walk to the other side of building we were on. Cole was watch who ever was in the alleyway beneath us, but he is clutching his scythe like someone was trying to steal it. Looking over the edge, we both see a figure that seemed too fimilar.

One of the members of Hidden's party, the only serpentine besides Pythor. But we don't know which type serpentine he is, we think he's a Constrictai. Deo, I think his name is. He just follows orders by Hidden and Moby, but hardly talks. Well, he talks to anyone outside of the group he is apart of.

That and we saw some broken footage in the hall, where Hidden confronted Krux about his disguise as "Dr. Saunders". Once Krux gets enough of Hidden, who is just explaining his entire plan like a mind reader, he tries to attack the guy. And fails obviously. But Hidden gives this guy an offering to join him, and then leaves. Hidden walks away like nothing freaking happened!!

"He's just walking alone? That's off..." Cole muttered, forgetting I was right beside him. He did have a point however: why is this serpentine walking alone? In the back alleys of Ninjago city too!

Me, being concerned, I slowly make my way to the snake. With Cole behind me, trying to drag me back to our spot. I kept pushing him away til we see Deo stop in his tracks. We try to silent as possible, hiding behind trash or a dumpster.

Cole's POV:
What the hell is that worm doing? Is he looking for us or a way around?
The snake starts running, and being a great ninja with another, less awesome, ninja we follow him. He was running for a long time until he stopped near a bunch a no good, sad lives of people. Mugging an innocent guy. Just chillin, being "harmless" until they stopped and watched Deo walk by them. Until one, I'm assuming the leader, stepped in front of Deo with a knife pointed at him.

"Ya gotta pay to pass through our grounds, punk." The leader spoke with some other members yelling names at Deo. "If memory serves me correctly, this area belongs to a better people than you, scum." Deo threatened, staring through the leader.

"Anyone with common sense knows that, and leave that man be while you're at it."

Deo glares at the others that were holding the guy, probably threatening him for cash. Geez, half of me wants to step in while the other wants to what this guy will do. I mean he is a "escape" but Hidden broke him out, and joined Hidden's ga- crew.

"I don't take orders from a weakling-"
"So, basically yourself!" Deo interrupted. Jay almost bursted out laughing at the remark by snake, but I hit him to silent in our spot.

He glares at me but he had that coming. Jay could have screwed us over, and scared off the serpentine. I shushed him, however I looked back to see Deo standing while the leader was on the floor. With a bloody nose. Three of the five people, not counting the one on the floor, went over to their leader. Helping him up and glared at the snake, they looked ready to beat Deo to a pulp. I was signaling Jay to slowly get up, since we could probably catch Deo at the moment. Then I felt Jay tug me down to the floor.

Jay's POV:
Cole wasn't paying attention he nearly ran into Deo, if it weren't for me, could have gotten him harmed. Deo backed up a few feet, placing his hand on his hood that covered most of his face. Yanking it down, he hissed at the gang. The spikes popping out.

He's.... he's great Devourer?!! I thought all of the Great devourer eggs were infected by Krux. Basically turning babies into his own soldiers to obey him. Wait, is Moby part of devourer too? It is a hybrid of snake of human, mostly human.

And Deo's fangs leaked venom when he hissed, which caused the crook's faces show pure terror. They stumbled and tripped before running off, each one. The guy that was getting mugged was sitting with his knees to his chest and covering his ears. Shaking with fear.

The snake started to walk to the man, pulling his hood up to cover his face again. Once he was in front the guy, Deo extended his hand. He was offering to help him up.

"Go away! You freak!" The shaking guy slapped Deo's hand and ran away.
Deo stayed still for a moment due to shock? He seemed to twitched abit, moving his hand back into his jacket.
Cole elbowed me. Why? He wanted to me stay put but I wasn't going to back down. He got up as well I did. Cole and I started closing in on Deo but the serpentine wasn't moving. He was just staying still, looking into the sky. I almost felt bad for the guy. He was seemed to be in pain by the response, but did seem to use the treatment. I nudged Cole to stay quiet, I cleared my throat.

"Hey, turn around slowly and don't bring out any weapons. If you don't attack us, we won't attack you." I spoke, trying to sound serious.

Deo jumped when I spoke but he lowered his head and turned to face us, hands still in pocket. He kinda just looked at us for a second.

"I don't intend to fight wither of you two, I was on a break from a mission...."
Mission?

"Mission? What sort of mission?" Cole stepped in front of me. "I'm not do anything against your laws however it does involve you, well your team to be exact.." Deo shrugged, taking a step forward.

"How does it involve us?" I asked holding up my nunchucks and Cole with his scythe.

"Overlord sent me here to receive some scrolls you lost, some with burned marks from natural causes.." the great devourer pulled out since scrolls from his pockets. "Though he wanted me to destroy them, Hidden suggested to give them to you.... though you alright have seen them..."

"Did they...? And how do we know that you aren't tricking us..." I yelled looking at Deo.

"It's your choice to destroy them or not, but they were originally your master's, so here." Deo sighed, throwing a bundle of scrolls at me. Looking in my eyes, I think at least. But it felt like he was just. He's looking through us.... so creepy...

Third POV: sorry!!!
"I will be taking my leave then..." Deo hissed almost in an threatening tone. Slowly turning his back to the blue and black ninjas, the great devourer started to walk away from the two. Before a dark shadow jumped from the wall beside of the serpentine, and land in front. Pointing his scythe. Ready to fight. However, Deo didn't seem to flitch.
"Hold it!" Cole yelled to grab the snake's attention. "Why we would show to you leave especially if you know where you're crew hiding-"
"I would suggest fighting me, nor my sibling. We are stronger than we look..." Deo sighed.

"Moby-" Jay looked around to look for the hybrid, however felt someone jump on him.

"GET OFF ME!" Jay yelled, throwing his attacker off. Looking at them. To see Moby with a pair of daggers out of her sleeves.

"Leave Deo be! He had nothing to do with you!" Moby yelled. Obviously upset to see their sibling to get threaten by the ninjas.

If one here's... there's a 50/50 chance that another is here too....And we are wasying time that could used for tracking them.... Cole thought to himself.

(I can't write fighting scenes ;-;... I was going to but it seem crappie. So enjoy the twist I had instead)

"Moby! Deo! Come in!" A voice cane from a sort of walkie talkie. Sounding somewhat like a young voice.
"Come in!"Moby growled, putting their wrist of sleeve to their mouth.

"What is it? We were going to fight with some ninjas!" They growled back. "Not allowed. We need you back here right now, you two have another mission." The voice replied back to the hybrid.
"And the ninjas?" Moby questioned grinding their teeth.

"Leave them be. However if they follow you, don't hesitate to attack. Understood?"

"Yes, sir..." Moby hung up on the boss.

"You heard him, we can't harm you unless you follow us. Which it isn't suggested." Deo hissed, smirking at Cole.
Gritting his teeth, Cole motioning for Jay to come to him.

Allowing the two to regroup. Then the two ninjas watched as the duo, made their way until they lost sight of them. Making Cole punch the wall next to them out of anger.

"Why did we let them get away? We could have taken them."

"There was a chance, there was another."
"Still-"
"We were given orders to patrol, but with sensei gone, Lloyd gives us the orders. He also said to try avoid getting harmed." Jay lectured Cole.

"Fine. But we could have taken care of two or three of them." Cole growled. Feeling like they lost a fight.

"We didn't retreated, like they did. We just avoided to getting a harder fight than we liked." Jay spoked, as if he predicted everything like a god of some sort.

"Hey, check out the time, we should probably head back to the Bounty. We kinda had a stressful night for just the two of us."

Cole stomped following Jay, as they made their way to the spot they were originally posted. Before seeing the Great devourer. And actually seeing what he actually was. Most of the ninjas guessed that he could be a venomari, based of his green scales Since most Venomari had green scales, it was rare to see a fangpyre, constrictai, or a hypnobrai to green most scales of the color of green. It was impossible for anacondrai tribe to green scale genes. They either had purple or white scales, no green genes.

But Nya pointed out that Deo did change into a serpentine into snake, which was unheard of by them or perhaps the serpentine. Or maybe it was a practiced talent for long ago. Cole had thoughts running through his mind, losing track of the time and the distance he walled behind Jay. Who was sending a text to Zane or Nya, about they're encounter with the wanted double. But they would wait for Lloyd to be awake, to tell him about the news. And Jay or Cole would tell when they had someone to back them up.

Deo (Following him):
The great devourer wonder why he was needed, and why Moby is too....
Overlord sounded off. Maybe because of his mission. Hidden gave missions out to the duo sometimes, even to Pythor and those twins. But even Hidden take some missions but they were really short and he came back the next day. Either to collect something, find a person, or to find a gang or rebels and bring them to Hidden's general.

Moby knocked on the door with Deo beside them. Overlord opened, but hid behind their door, opening it abit.
"You interrupted a fight-"
"-We weren't allowed to unless they followed which they didn't." Deo corrected their sibling.

Overlord let out a huge sigh, clearing his throat.
"I needed to tell you both... since I messed up on a potion.... and I have some news for you both.."
