Life Goes On
Two years later.
Robbie was reading an article about Mr. and Mrs. Felton at the christening of their baby Charlotte. He stared at the picture of Tom and Emma standing at the front of the church. Emma was holding an adorable baby girl who was dressed in a christening gown with matching bonnet. Tom stood close like the proud papa that he was. They looked so happy.
Robbie felt a small pain in his chest. This was the life Emma had always wanted, one she deserved. The one he wasn't able to give her. He and Emma haven't spoken to each other since the breakup. He felt bad about how everything went down. The one thing she didn't deserve was the pain he had caused her. If only he had the guts to come out earlier, he could have spared all that.
Robbie sat back in his chair, remembering that night. Grandfather was beyond pissed, of course. How could a Kay do that? Looking back he did Robbie a favor disowning him and firing him from the company. Robbie was actually glad to finally be out from under the old man's thumb.
At the time it was terrifying. Robbie was out of a job, a home, and all alone. He had nowhere to turn to, no one to help. It was a scary situation.
After wandering around the area, Robbie went to the one place that gave him some comfort. He went to Harry's club and ordered a drink. He looked into his wallet. Unfortunately all he had was five bucks. Grandfather probably stopped all of his cards.
"It's on me." said a familiar voice behind him. Harry. He sat down next to Robbie. "So what happened?"
Robbie poured out the entire story to Harry. He listened sympathetically. "Now I don't know what to do," Robbie said. "I finally come out and I get to be homeless for my trouble."
Harry put his hand on his arm. "There's a place in my building. It's smaller than you're used to but it's available."
"But how am I going to pay the rent?" Robbie wailed in desperation. "I don't have a job. I don't have but five dollars to my name. I'm screwed! I knew the old man was going to pull this crap when I came out."
"But it's worth it, isn't it?" Harry asked. "At least you're free now, you don't have to hide anymore."
Robbie had to think about that. "You're right. It does feel great not having to hide who I am all the time. No more lying either. It's actually a relief."
Harry took his hand and gave it a squeeze. "I'm sorry about Emma but I'm proud of you, Robbie."
Robbie smiled at him. "Thanks. Now if only I had a job."
Harry looked around at the dancing crowds. "Well, since you like to spend so much time here in this place. . ."
That was how Robbie got the job here at the Boys Room. He was the manager in charge of the events and he loved it. No more all night dull projects or wearing uncomfortable suits. This job was way more fun.
Robbie was sitting in Harry's old office. Harry had opened another club in the next town. Sometimes when things were slow they would visit each other's place.
Robbie looked at the gold band on the finger of his left hand and smiled as he thought about his better half. Emma wasn't the only one who moved on. Life went on.
Right on cue his better half came into the office. "Place is really kicking it tonight."
Robbie turned towards Harry, his better half. "Why aren't you at your own club? You're always here in mine."
"What? Zayn's got it under control." Harry said as he stepped over. "I had to see if you did too."
"Don't worry about me," Robbie stood up to move closer to him. "I know what I'm doing."
"No doubt." Harry gave him a kiss. "I just missed you."
"From this morning?"
They laughed, then Harry looked at what Robbie was reading. "What's this?"
"I was reading about Emma,". Robbie said. "She has a new baby, a girl."
"Oh yeah, Kendall was telling me about her. Do you and Emma still talk?"
"Nope." Robbie said. "It's all in the past. At least Kendall is still talking to you."
"We're just friends, we were never engaged or even exclusive." Harry looked at Robbie closely. "Are you okay?"
Robbie held Harry close. "I'm good. I got everything I need right here."
"Everything? Are you sure?" Harry said. "Because I was thinking maybe we can take a page from Emma's book."
"What do you mean?"
"What about us getting on the parenting train?" Harry said. "Want to look into adopting a baby? Starting a family?"
Robbie lit up. "Really? A family of our own?"
"Why not? Our clubs are doing great." Harry said. "We've been married almost two years now. I can see us spoiling a few kids together."
"You really mean it?" Robbie smiled at his husband. "I would love it, Harry."
"Great. We can get started right away." Harry began kissing his neck.
"Whoa, wait," Robbie held him off. "That's not how that works, you know."
"I know that." Harry said. "I meant we can go to the agency my friend used to get his kids. He says there are lots of kids that need good homes and he can put in a good word for us." He went back to kissing Robbie. "This is the real reason I came over."
"You are so bad, Harry." Robbie returned his kisses. "That's why I love you so much."
"I know." Harry smirked at him. "We'd better take all the alone time we can get before we get our kids."
As Robbie went to lock the door he couldn't believe how happy he was. He was so glad they he had met Harry. If not, he would be living a miserable life that was based on a lie.
Harry only brought honesty and happiness and love. What more could he ask for?
A/N Thanks so much to all the readers who stayed with this story to the end. I started this in November 2016. I almost didn't finish it because it wasn't getting a lot of love but I stuck it out. I did have a few readers like hanhankim7. CriddleTheWriter. DennyDane and CrystalLibrary who stayed with me all the way to the end and for that they get a big big shoutout from me. Their interest encouraged me to keep it going. I wanted to see more Rorry Kaylee's books here since there were so many ships but sadly that is not the case. So I will focus on other works. Again thanks to all of you who read my books. You really make my day.❤❤
