Chapter 9

General P.O.V.

The following morning, Rin took her time to wake up. Upon remembering what happened last night, she sat from her bed with great demise. She glanced at her clock to check what the time was and she saw that it was three in the afternoon.

‘I guess crying all night takes effort.’ She thought to herself as she fixed her in front of the mirror.

She went to take a shower and changed to a white polo and red skirt like that of the school’s uniform. Upon going down to the dining hall, she saw how the house was forgotten for several years. Dust caked on several furniture, paintings and closets. The Mirrors were not polished well so she can only have a small glimpse of herself.

“Rin-sama, are you going out?” Teto asked from behind the young Heiress.

“Yes. I’ll be gone for the whole day. Be careful here and protect this mansion at all cost.” Rin ordered the pinkette and left, bringing with her the red Ferrari she owns to the agency.

Several media men were waiting for Rin Kagamine’s arrival that afternoon. The media crowded around her, asking several questions regarding her comeback but she only answered once.

“I will be at the top once more and Len Kagamine will be my footstool.” She answered in a tone filled with great anger before she continued inside the agency’s lobby.

“Ah, Rin Kagamine. Please come. Your photo shoot will start any minute and we have to groom you.” The Photo shoot producer reminded the actress so they hurried up.

“Hai! Rin Kagamine will be with us today for the photo shoot of the latest release of dresses by XXX company.” The director said.

“Please take care of me.” Rin said with a formal bow.

“Now, please go change.”

After she changed, she came out in a black wedding dress maiking look like a dead and broken doll. Her hair adored a lace-filled head piece and around her neck was a choker with rubies and obsidians.

“Let’s start the photoshoot. I forgot that there will be one more person we are working with. Please come in, Len Kagamine.”

To her shock, Rin’s eyes widened. Len was dressed like a great noble from her kingdom and upon remembering, she just ignored the boy.

“Now let’s sart!” The director said and so the photoshoot started.

The theme was ‘Broken doll’ and Rin was in the perfect mood to pose as one. She gave such hurtful glances at the camera and her body posture was slumped. Len was having a great deal of fuss with Rin being like that. He has to improvise his pose so that he can catch up with Rin’s.

Once the photoshoot was done, Len was exhausted and Rin was still going to another photoshoot.

Len tried to talk to Rin but she just brushed him off like he was not there leaving Len with a feeling of regret.

Rin arived the photoshoot area which was at the town square. She was asked to chane and she came out with several white clothings for winter. She was told that here was another newbie who will be joining them and much to her shock, she found out that it was Miku Hatsune, a natural model and a newbie.

“So be it.” She said and prepared herself.

When the photoshoot started, Miku was shocked that she was paired up with Rin. Rin was also reminded that the theme was ‘A lonely winter evening’ which was another excuse for her great poses.

Rin took advantage of the place. Miku had to work with Rin the hard way without talking to Rin. They possed as siblings, lovers, and other shojou-ai characters that would fit them to achieve the perfect pose. Miku and Rin were taking time to change garment for the fourth time and posing once again.

“Okay! Five frames solo then one last frame to end the shoot. Ready?”

“Yep.” Rin answered and started with her solo shoot. She posed like she was really hurt and she shed some tears while looking up at the evening sky at her last frame.

“Nice! It’s perfect! Maybe Rin-sama will take this shoot to the next level. Miku-san, please take the stage.”

And so she did. Miku was anxious to end the shoot and forget that she was with Rin but she did her best to pose until the last frame.

“Okay. Your posture, Miku-san. I think you’re afraid of something right now. Take a break. I have to pass the frame to the director before your last frame.” The camera man said and rushed here and there. Miku and Rin changed in he same tent and for the last garments, they were wearing the same designed dress (which were Lolita dresses) only their colors were different. Rin wore the Black colored dress and Miku wore the white colored dress.

“Okay! Last frame! Rin and Miku please think of your poses already.” Shouted by one of the crew outside the tent.

“Miku.”

Miku was shocked to hear that Rin’s voice was filled with hurt. Miku looked at the girl whom she called her best-friend.

“Yes?” The teallette answered in case that Rin might misunderstand.

“On the last frame, kiss me. That way, the people who can see the pictures will be shocked in a way that they will be obsessed with buying the product again and again. This may also help your career as a new model in the agency.” Rin advised. Miku was disappointed that the blonde did not say anything regarding their ties with each other but she was thankful for Rin was giving Miku a great opportunity.

“S-sure.” She wasn’t so shocked of this because she was asked to kiss several girls in her previous shoots.

As they approached the last part of the shoot, Miku was getting more and more nervous.

“Don’t worry; I don’t hate you, Miku.” Rin cleared and that caused Miku to sigh in great relief. It already stared snowing and the made the place more dramatic. An audience gathered around the photo shoot and this was going to cause them high ratings.

“Okay, ready?” The last frame was shot and the crowd was shocked. The swift movement of the girls’ towards each other was unexpected and the whole crowd was shocked.

The last frame was shot and this was the start of the comeback of Rin Kagamine.

The crowd cheered and arose because of the stunt that both the girls did.

“Thank you for the good work, everyone!” The director of the shoot was stunned with the work of the girls.

But Rin did not have any intention of celebrating just yet.

She has worked to do in the office. Also the owner of the XXXX fashion line gave Rin the dresses she used together with the accessories. So a she went to the office, she was still filled with make-up that went with her casual outfit.

“Miss Rin, everyone invited you to the welcome back ball in the nearby XXX hotel on the ballroom.” One of the maintenance crew told her.

“Was the maintenance not invited?” Rin asked as she approached her office.

“No. We were told that we should say here in case that you came around, Miss Rin. I was in duty.”

“Well then, put on your formal clothes and come with me to the party.” Rin ordered causing the man to smile in joy.

Rin finished some paperwork which were due tomorrow and changed to her ball attire afterwards. She brought some of the paperwork to her car before she took her phone from her office.

“You ready?” Rin asked the maintenance man and the man nodded. They both rode to the hotel and entered.

“Welcome back, Miss Rin!” Her office mates welcomed her with a smile.

“Thank you, everyone! I know that I have missed so much of the happenings in the company, but please don’t forget that I’m still the Miss Rin you knew several years ago.” Rin’s opening speech was followed by a dance.

Several asked her but she refused. She watched at a corner as her officemates enjoyed he evening. Even though it was a short notice, she joined the welcoming ball but her fun ended as the agency called at her to attend a talk show which asks her presence.

She sneaked out of the party and gave her thanks to her officemates and went to the agency immediately. She changed her clothes for the talk show which the agency provided.

“Please welcome Miss Rin Kagamine!” The crowd cheered and Rin entered.

“Pleased to be here!” Rin said with high spirits and a great smile.

“Please take a seat, Miss Kagamine.” So she did. “So, there was news that you were in a relationship with Len Kagamine before you left. Is that true enough?” She was asked.

“Well, I wasn’t involved with any romantic relationship with Len Kagamine but we were almost here when I left.” She answered and the audience arose.

“Seems that the crowd likes it. If this was the case, Miss Kagamine, did you have any relationship when you left?”

“No. I needed to finish doing my job  there.”

“What a work horse! Let’s give her a round of applause, Ladies and gentlemen.” The speaker clapped along with the audience. “Miss Kagamine, you said in this afternoon’s media men that you are going to use Len Kagamine as a footstool. Are you sure that Len Kagamine will lose to you?”

“Well, this is interesting. Len, as the number one international star, he was a great footstool so that I can go back on top. A while ago in our photo-shoot, I proved to him that he was already outmatched.”

“Is that so?  We have several frames that were sent to us here and let’s show it to the audience.”

The picture was Len was holding Rin like a frail and lifeless doll. Rin’s expression and the heart of the picture were felt by the crowd. Her expression was heart racing and beautiful, like she was really a doll.

“Outstanding! You overpowered Len Kagamine in this shot!”

“Thanks. Only proves one thing. The real competition is to start yet.”

“Well, Miss Kagamine, we, your supporters, will root for you until you go to the top. Ladies and gentlemen! Rin Kagamine!” Rin stood up from her seat and waved at her fans.

From the start of her day (which was at the afternoon), she was forgetting something. She was up all night, crying, she skipped three meals already and she was so busy.

“Rin!” someone called her. She whirled around and saw that it was Gakupo.

“Gakupo, care to drink?” Rin invited her manager to take a drink.

“Sure. Anything from my little girl.” Rin realized tha she wasn’t called ‘little girl’ for a long time now.

“You drive.” She added and went to the car.

The bar was one place to sulk in and times of trouble. Well, that’s what Rin was thinking. She already drank so much but she drank more.

“Oy, someone might see you.” Gakupo warned and Rin glared at him. Gakupo sighed and ordered another glass of booze. “Talk to me, Rin. You seemed to be off your tune. What happened?”

Rin placed down her drink at the table and started telling him that story on what happened in her house and Gakupo wasn’t shocked to hear it.

“Gakupo, Len’s my problem! He’s been so distant to me! You know m ties with that guy, he’s the one I like and yet he got on with Miku! My best friend! Can you believe that?!” Rin said and drank the whole glass filled with margarita and ordered another glass.

“Rin, Len grew so weary with you gone like that so he thinks that you have a guy in your life for the few years that you were gone.” Gakupo answered.

“I know that. I had that chance to tell him six years ago. I had a chance to tell him that I love him.” Rin said.

“But you didn’t. I think it’s time for you to move on.” Gakupo suggested.

“You do know that vampires are clingy, right? Every time they had someone as target, they won’t let go of it until the end, and that is what I am doing right now.” Rin clarified and drank from her glass.

“I know that, Rin but sometimes it’s better for you to let go before you are hurt.” Gakupo said once more to the teen.

“I can’t do that easily.” She said and finished her last glass of margarita. A wave of dizziness washed over Rin’s head but she said one last thing. “I love Len so much.”

She said and fell unconscious. Gakupo was now troubled with the girl who was so drunk. Good thing that Gakupo did not drink that much so he drove the girl home.

Upon arriving at Rin’s house, Gakupo helped Rin climb to her room.

“Mister Gakupo, Thank you for your help.” Teto said and Gakupo left without saying another word.

The next day was horrid for the blonde teen. Her head throbbed in so much pain and she was still dressed like last night. Upon remembering what happened yesterday, she face palmed.

“I was like an idiot yesterday.” She said to herself with full regret. She immediately looked at the clock and jumped from her bed when she saw it.

“What! I slept for a whole day?!”

She was in a great problem right now. She missed one day of her vacation.
