Chapter 3

~The next day~

Len’s POV

Beep…Beep… Beep…

I woke up, went straight to the bathroom and took a long bath. After I took a bath I looked at the clock and realized that it’s already 7:25 a.m.! Our class will start in five minutes! I took a banana, ran to my limo and it drove off. I’m already late! Why did I think of taking a long bath?!  Exactly 5 minutes, we reached the school and I ran to the classroom. When entered, Luka-sensei was not yet there. I headed to my sit and saw Rui looking at the window again. I looked in front and saw Luka-sensei entered. I remembered that the school festival is only two days away.

“We don’t have any lessons today…” Luka-sensei said. What a shock…

“But I want everyone help preparing for the school festival. As for Len, you can go to the recording company to practice for the concert of Rin Kagamine because one of the staff told me that your boss suddenly added you to that concert.” Luka-sensei explained. I looked at Rui and she seemed surprised.

As everyone left, I packed my things and left. I called my driver to pick me up and texted Rin while waiting for my limo to come.

Len: Rin, please come over at the recording company. We need to practice for the concert. It’s only two days away. Text back fast.

When the limo was already there, I sat in and drove off. I saw that Rin texted back.

Rin: Ehh! Why so sudden?! I’m busy about something. And I thought you have school?

I texted back.

Len: My teacher told me I can go. So please come over.

Rui: Fine… I’ll try.

When we reached the recording company, I sat inside and waited for Rin to come.

Rui (Rin) POV

I was shocked when Luka-sensei told us that Len can go and practice with Rin. After he left, Len texted my Rin cell phone.

Len: Rin, please come over at the recording company. We need to practice for the concert. It’s only two days away. Text back fast.

I texted him back.

Rin: Ehh! Why so sudden?! I’m busy about something. And I thought you have school?

Len: My teacher told me I can go. So please come over.

Rui: Fine… I’ll try.

I hid my phone on my bag and went to see Luka-sensei. I saw her and asked permission.

“Luka-sensei, may I leave?”

“Why? Give me a valid reason.” She replied. (A/N: Everyone at the school knows she’s the owner of the biggest Kagamine Company. Sorry didn’t tell you guys in the first chapter.)

“I had an urgent meeting at my company.” I reasoned.

“Hmmm… Very well. You may leave.” She replied. Thank God those teachers are sometimes dense.

I bowed to her and went straight to the classroom to pack my things and leave. I called my driver to pick me up and texted Len.

Rin: I’ll be there in 20 minutes.

Len: Okay.

When my limo arrived, I told my driver that I need to go to the recording company and drove off. After 15 minutes, my limo stopped in front of the company. Before I went out, I removed my wig, contact lens, and bag with my lunch in and headed inside. I saw Len waiting for me.

“Len,” I called him.

“Oh, you’re here.” He said and smiled.

“Let’s get started, shall we?” I said and smiled back.

We headed in the practice room silently. We are near the practice room when suddenly, Len asked me a question.

“What were you doing when I texted you?”

My eyes widened and I looked at him.

“Uhhhh... I was... in a meeting?” I said and looked away.

“Okay...but you seemed unsure about that.” He replied.

“I’m sure, I’m sure…” I replied.

We entered the practice room and practiced till lunch.

~Lunch time~

Len and I walked out of the practice room. I headed straight to my limo while Len headed in the opposite direction. I drank up the blood in the limo so no one will notice. After I drank, I went out of the limo and headed back (again) in the practice room. I got there and noticed Len was not yet there. I waited for him at the lounge and it’s annoying. After thirty minutes, forty-three seconds and twenty-seven milliseconds, Len came running.

“Sorry if I’m late.” He said panting.

“It’s okay.” I replied.

“Now let’s go back on practicing, shall we?” I asked and smiled.

He nodded and smiled back.

~Time went by~

It was already four thirty in the afternoon and we finished our practice. We fixed our things and went out of the practice room and waited in the lobby. Len and I sat in one of the couches and waited for our managers.

“Len…” I called.

“Yeah?”

“Who’s your manager?”  I asked.

“Eh…eto…uhm…” He uttered and suddenly my manager came together with a mysterious guy.

“Hey Rin.” A purple haired guy with long hair tied on a low pony tail greeted me. (A/N: Of course he knows Rin’s secret. :P)

“Hi Gakupo-nii.” I greeted and ran to strangle him.

“R-R-Rin…I-I can’t-“

“Oh, sorry.” I let go of him and looked at the brunette guy with glasses and wearing a business suit.

“Hi, Rin- chan.” The guy greeted.

“Kiyo-nii, don’t scare her.” Len said and stood from his seat.

“Ara, Rin-chan, what are you doing here?” A fluffy voice called from the anonymous guy’s back.

I ran behind and saw a blue haired guy.

“K-K-K-Kaito?????!!!” I reacted.

“Yeah…I took a long leave from the company and I came back.” Kaito said.

“Ahh…” I said and Kaito jerked her head to look behind me.

“I see you and Len came through.” Kaito said and looked back at me.

“That’s not it.” I said and he chuckled.

“Okay, see you around.” Kaito said and went out of the building. I shed and went back to where I was a while ago.

“She didn’t know, didn’t she?” Len whispered and I sighed in defeat.

“Rin, let’s go. I still have something to tell you.” Gakupo said as an excuse to leave from their presence. I nodded.

“See you tomorrow, Len.” I said and we bowed at them to show respect and we went out of the building.

We left and headed home with Gakupo ‘cause he said that he wants to talk to me. When we reached my house/mansion, I opened the door and let Gakupo enter. He seated on the couch as I dropped my things and sit down as well.

“So, what do you want to tell me?” I asked him.

“Well, since the two of you go (Len and Rin/Rui) to one school and enter the same company, I talked to the director if I could at least introduce yourself as the genuine Rin and not Rui.” Gakupo said. Is he joking?

“Wha- You don’t mean that, right? I mean- when I introduce myself as the genuine Rin, people will be asking about me and the press will be swarming around me. That will cause me a lot of trouble and not you!” I shouted.

“Rin, understand that”

“No Gakupo, I will keep my identity hidden as Rui.” I added and stormed off to my room. I banged my door and locked it when I entered. What is he even saying? Revealing my identity? Is he nuts?

Suddenly, my phones buzzed in my pocket so I took it out. I first looked over the phone I use as Rui. A message from Miku.

Miku: OMG! I saw Rin a while ago!

I thought ‘if you only knew, Miku.’ and replied. Since when did she saw me anyway?

Rui: Really? What did she say?

Did I reply to her right?

Miku: Nothing but she was with Len a while ago. I wonder if Len has anything to do with Rin.

Miku, please don’t, I beg you!

Rui: Okay.

I replied and tossed my phone at the bed. I looked over at the phone of Rin. A message from Len.

Len: Do we need to practice tomorrow?

I didn’t reply and came another text in the same phone with the same question. I got annoyed and tossed it to bed. I sighed and stood up. I took a bath and changed to my casual clothes for Rui and wore her contacts and wig. Maybe I’ll freshen up a bit. I went out of the room and went out. Gakupo wasn’t at the living room anymore and I think he went home already.

“Ojou-sama, where are you going?” Teto asked from behind me.

“Oh, I’ll be out for a while.” I said.

“Okay.” Teto said and I went out of the house and went to the park.

There weren’t many people at the park, kids were running around and families were helping each other to fix up their picnic and go home. I walked around for a while until I decided to go to a café at the city.

The city wasn’t a far walk from home but the school is nearer. I went around and saw Len’s car parked in front of a building but I didn’t bother go near it.

I went to the first café I spotted. I entered and a guy led me to my seat. He gave me a menu and ordered a simple raspberry parfait.

I completely forgot my phone at home because of my annoyance.

Minutes later they served me the parfait and I ate it slowly while I was completely dozed off.

Len’s P. O. V.

I entered a café nearby after I bought something for Rui. I should be at least thankful for her because she always let me eat by her so I bought her a locket like bracelet with something inside but I was told not to open it so I didn’t. Oh well.

I went inside the café and sat on a table beside a black haired girl with red eyes that looked similar with Rui. Wait, it is Rui…

“Rui?” The girl turned her head with a teaspoon on her mouth.

“Len?” She said and removed the spoon from her mouth.

“Yeah, what are you doing here?” I asked.

“I just came for some refreshments. You?” Rui replied.

“Oh, I just bought something at a nearby store. Here.” I went to her table and gave her the gift. I raised it in front of her and she smiled. I wore it to her and she thanked me but later something smoked at her wrist and I realized it was really her skin burning and I saw her flinch. She immediately removed it and threw it at the floor and it caused the floor to crack. I looked back at her wrist and it was alright.

“Are you alright?” I asked and picked the bracelet up and placed it in front of her.

“Yeah.” She answered while she was rubbing her wrist. I removed her hand that was rubbing her wrist and saw no trace of burn. It was all gone.

“What’s inside?” She asked and I opened one of the compartments. I saw some kind of herb.

“It’s vervain.” She said and I closed it again.

“How do you know?” I asked.

“Well, the scent was strong for me and I identified it fast because once I had it at home.” She replied.

“Oh, I see.” I said and smiled at her.

Rin’s (Rui) P. O. V.

Len wore the bracelet he bought for me and suddenly it started to burn my skin so I forcefully plucked it off my wrist and threw it hard on the floor that caused a small crack.

“Are you alright?” Len asked.

“Yeah.” I answered and rubbed my wrist for a while and the pain and bruises went away. Len grabbed off my left hand.

“What’s inside?” I asked so he won’t be fixated with my wrist. He opened one of the compartments and the strong smell of vervain drifted along my nose.

“It’s vervain.” I said and Len closed the thing and left it at the table.

“How do you know?” He asked.

“Well, the scent was strong for me and I identified it fast because once I had it at home.” I lied. I did great on lying for the millionth time.

“Oh, I see.” Len said and I picked up the teaspoon and continued to eat the parfait. For moments, Len stared at me.

“Len, aren’t you going to order something?” I asked and he snapped out from his starring.

“Oh, I’m alright.” He said and his stomach growled. He blushed in embarrassment.

“Waiter, may I order a banana parfait and an orange shake please.”  I said and later the waiter served it. I took the shake and gave the parfait to Len.

“Thanks.” He said before he dug in his parfait. I played my shake for a while before I continued sipping from my glass. I hid the bracelet in my pocket.

Len and I finished and I paid at the cashier and went out.

“How can I thank you?” Len asked. You can at least refrain buying things that can burn my skin.

“Oh, you don’t need to repay me.” I said and waved goodbye to him and continued roaming around the city. I wonder if he will search something about vervain in Google.

I hope not.

I arrived home and Teto held out my phone as Rin. Thirty missed calls from Len and Gakupo. I got it from her hand and placed it in my pocket.

I went up in my room and sat somewhere there. My phone rang again. I plucked it out fast from my pocket and answered it.

“Hello?”

“Rin! Why Aren’t you picking up?!”

“Who’s this?”

“It’s Len!”

“No need to shout.”

“Do we have practices tomorrow?”

“Do I care?”

“Rin!”

“No! I have some business to do! And I also need the write the lyrics of our new song because we will sing it on the school fest concert!”

“What is it?”

“…Fire flower.”

“What?!  Somebody, help me…”

“No one is going to help you in this rate, Len. I’ll send the song off vocal to you and the lyrics. Bye.”

“R-“

I sighed to myself and sent the fire flower off vocal to Len and the lyrics. Problem solved.

“Ojou-sama, dinner is ready.” Teto called from the door. I stood up and nodded to her direction and went down to the dining room.

I sat down at a chair and served me my food but I plucked out the bracelet and handed it to Teto.

“Remove the vervain. Give it back immediately.” I instructed and she went out of the dining room. I was alone.

I ate the diner and left it half-finished and went back to my study and signed the documents I was supposed to sign two days ago. I finished it off immediately and took out my book and started reading all of it.

Moments later, someone knocked on the door.

“Ojou-sama, the bracelet and your desert.” Teto said. I allowed her to enter. I set aside all of the things on my table for some space. Teto served me a slice of French orange-chocolate pie and Jackson’s Earl Grey tea. Teto placed the bracelet on the table.

I finished my desert and tea. I kept the bracelet in my pocket and let Teto leave and rest for the day.

I went back to my room and went to the bathroom. I removed my wig and contact lenses and revealed my blonde hair. I took a shower and changed to my pajamas and went to bed. Geez… I’m exhausted.
