Chapter Two

Ty's POV

"TrueMU, can you help me?" I asked. I was making the schedule for the week. You know, the schedule that says who does what job for the day. I have no idea why Adam gave me this job, he knows how bad I am at this. "You know the recruits better than I do."

TrueMU nodded, and I think he may have smiled under his space helmet. He knows that I have trouble making schedules. "Sure, let's see what you have so far." He glanced at my paper, then looked at me. "Ty, you've done absolutely nothing. What have you been doing?"

I smiled sheepishly. "Eating breakfast..." We were in the dining hall sitting next to each other, finishing our meal.

He shook his head. "Why hasn't Adam given me this job already? He knows I always end up taking care of the schedule."

I shrugged. "Maybe he wants me to get to know the recruits better."

TrueMU laughed. "Probably, you can never remember their names. Anyways, do you have the list of recruits that need to be on duty for the week?"

I nodded. "It's right here." I handed him the sheets of names and a pen.

He took the paper and pen and started to write down some names. "Okay, you know the guards are on a rotation." He glanced at the paper with the names of the guards and continued writing. "Sabrina and Xavier are head guards, so they have to be at the gates. Xavier told me yesterday he wants Travis, Brett, Jeremy, Noah, Malik, and Eric this week. Did Sabrina tell you her choices?" TrueMU stopped writing and looked up at me.

"Uh, yes. She said she wants Alexis, Claire, Kennedy, Kylie, Paige, and one other girl I can't quite remember. I think her name was Summer?"

"Winter," he said as he began writing again. "Also, do you have any preferences for who you want to go on patrol with you this week?"

"Nope, everyone seems to do the job just fine." TrueMU nodded as I leaned back in my chair and looked around the dining hall.

It still amazed me how large this base has become. Last I had checked, the total number of recruits this base has held was 34,039,264. Sure, that includes everyone who has joined the Sky Army since it was first founded 500 years ago, but still! I personally find it hard to believe that so many people want to fight squids. Their tentacles are pretty slimy... Nope! Not even going to go there.

I watched the recruits as they mingled, talked, and laughed with each other. I wish I could be that carefree. The position Notch gave me in life definitely keeps me on my toes. You never know if someone may turn and betray you and your friends. I guess the betrayal of James and Shadow still bothers me.

Wait, why am I still thinking about awful topics?

"Here Ty, I finished the schedule," TrueMU said as he handed me the paper. Oh, that's why. So I don't have to make that thing.

"Thanks," I said as I grabbed the schedule. "Hey, can I ask you a question? It's kinda personal."

He tilted his head at me. "Personal for you?"

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. "Actually, for you."

He shrugged. "Go ahead."

"What's your real name?"

He stiffened. "Why would you want to know that?"

"I know every General's name except yours. I only know your code name. Do you not like your name?"

"Something like that. My real name might get me into trouble elsewhere, so I'm trying to get rid of it so I don't have to watch my back all the time." He sighed. "Anyway, we should probably get that schedule up. The recruits need to start getting ready for the week, and we have a patrol to organize."

I nodded, and we both stood up. Everyone else had already left to start the day, so the chefs, TrueMU, and were the only ones in the dining hall. I hadn't realized how long we had stayed after breakfast. We walked out of the building and moved towards the bulletin board that was located nearby. Lucky us, we don't have to go that far. I pinned the schedule to the board, and recruits began checking the paper as soon as I moved away.

"Ty, did you at least check to see who is going on patrol with you today?" TrueMu asked.

I slapped myself. "No." I walked back to the board as he laughed. "So, I need to find Luke, Jeffery, Cooper, John, Kevin, Kyle, Bella, Megan, Ashley, Elizabeth, Anna, and Marie," I commented as I glanced at the schedule.

"Nope, they're all right here." I spun around to find a group of recruits standing next to TrueMU. He was still laughing, and a few of the recruits were failing to stifle their own laughter.

"Okay, okay, I get it. I'm terrible at remembering what I need to do. At least I know the recruits in this group," I pouted. TrueMu laughed harder. In response, I turned away from him and started to walk towards the offices.

"Ty, wait!" TrueMU exclaimed as he ran up to me. "I'm sorry for laughing at you. Can we start planning this patrol now?"

I grinned. "Yep, let's get this started." I motioned to the recruits to come up to us.

"You just wanted an apology, didn't you?" TrueMU demanded.

I smirked. "Maybe..."

"Jerk," he muttered.

I cupped a hand around my ear. "I'm sorry, what was that?"

"Nothing!"

I laughed. "Anyways, are you guys ready for patrol today?"

"When are we not General Deadlox?" One of the recruits had spoken up.

I smiled. "And this is why I love this group True."

TrueMU looked at me. "True?"

I shrugged. "TrueMU starts to get tiring after a while. I figured I could give you a nickname, since you won't tell me your real name." I teased.

"Anyways, I think we are ready to go. See you later True!"

TrueMU waved as the patrol followed me towards the gates. We passed the guards, who must have already seen the schedule. Good for them.

I stopped the group after we were out of the base. "Keep an eye out for any movement out here. You don't know if there is an enemy out here." I warned. "This is a forest, with a lot of places to hide. Don't forget to listen, we shouldn't rely on our sight too much. Let's get going."

We began moving again, this time walking into the forest. It was actually pretty nice. The quiet and beautiful scenery created a peaceful mood in the patrol. I noticed a couple girls talking to each other. Probably something boring, like what outfit they should wear to the dance.

The dance! I forgot all about that!

Every year we have a Welcoming Speech that the Commander gives to new recruits, and a dance the following month. We have a lot of new recruits this year, more than usual. We'll have to expand the dining hall for the dance. I don't remember where the secret lever is, I'll have to ask Sky when the contest is over. I think it ends in a week anyways, so I'll ask him then. I don't think I'm allowed to ask him anything related to our secrets yet.

Why do I think so much about this stuff? It's not like anyone is reading my thoughts. Oh look, a spruce forest.

I looked around to make sure my group was still with me. Six boys, five gir- oh wait, there's the sixth. We continued walking, this time along the edges of the two forests.

Ty, I need you to listen closely.

I almost stopped, but then realized it was Seto speaking to me telepathically. I'm listening.

Your group is getting a little too close to me and Selene. We want to put on another performance. Would you guys be ready for us?

I looked at my group again, this time more closely. They were all attentive, and watching the forests for any movement. Aw, they actually listened to me. Considering this group actually listens to me, I would say yes.

Great, just listen for yelling. Oh, and Selene will be using magic against me. See you in a couple minutes!

What?! Great, he's not answering. I guess I'll just have to listen, just like he said. I can't believe those two. I guess Selene has been getting bored, and saw an opportunity to create some mischief.

"Uh, General Deadlox." Ashley spoke up.

I looked back at the group. "Yes? Is something wrong?"

"I'm hearing something, and it's close by." Her words made the entire group stop to listen for any noises nearby.

I hope you two know what you're doing.

"I can hear voices yelling. I think it's coming from over there." Cooper pointed towards the spruce forest.

"Let's go investigate then." I started to walk in the direction Cooper pointed in, and the patrol followed me. We all kept an eye out for any movement as the voices grew louder and clearer.

"No!" One of the two voices suddenly rang out. We finally reached a clearing, where two figures could be seen. One appeared to be a female, and the other was a recruit. Selene and Seto. I motioned for the group to remain hidden in the shadows of the trees.

Selene giggled and moved forward. "I never saw you as a coward Sorcerer. What changed you? What made you abandon me?"

The recruits surrounding me tensed. I rolled my eyes. She really wanted to play this game?

"What changed me? You killed a child and showed absolutely no remorse! The very least you could have done was bury him!" Great... the old murder routine. Fine, I'll play along.

"I don't want to fight you Ender, but I will if you force me." Oh, code names already? I still don't understand why I agreed to let Selene have my mother's name as her code name. Oh well, it fits her nicely.

"Then do it." Seto was thrown backwards as a knockback spell was thrown at him. At least it wasn't a damage spell, that would have left a nasty injury. Selene summoned her one of her swords as Seto tried to get back up and blocked him from standing.

"Poor, poor Seto. You know, we could have been legends, almost like Herobrine himself. I guess you never wanted that. Now it's your turn to die."

Now would be a good time Ty!

Okay, fine. Get ready to run Seto.

"Stop!" I yelled as I moved swiftly out of the shadows. Seto took advantage of Selene's 'surprise' and knocked her to her feet. He sprinted towards me, nodded his head as a thanks, and rushed to the patrol. Bella and Jeffery hurried over to Seto to check him for any injuries.

I looked back at Selene to see her get up. Time to play the 'General-Who-Saves-Recruit-From-Danger' role again. I readied my sword, and Selene looked at me. "I don't believe this is fair Deadlox. All of you, against me?" She then glanced at Seto. "Don't you think for a second this is over Sorcerer."

I lunged towards Selene, who teleported a few feet away. I turn around, just to get hit with the side of her sword. Lovely.

"Don't try that again 'Lox. That was a warning. I won't be so gentle the next time." Love you too Selene.

I noticed her cat Hecate and wolf Luna walking towards her. I still don't fully understand why she gave her familiar the name Hecate. I think she said it had something to do with a goddess from Earth.

The clearing suddenly flashed magenta, and the three were gone by the time my eyes adjusted to the difference in light.

Show off.

I turned toward the patrol and Seto, who were watching the ordeal. I walked up to Seto. "Seto, right?"

Seto nodded. "Yes, sir."

I mentally groaned. He knows how much I hate being addressed as a superior. "What was going on between you and that hybrid? You two don't seem to be on good terms right now."

He shook his head. "We're not. We had a disagreement a couple years ago. I had no idea she was going to come find me!"

"Calm down, you're safe right now. Is there anything we need to know?"

Seto looked at me with wet eyes. He really wants to play his part, doesn't he?

"She's an Ender." The recruits surrounding us tensed. I forgot how much humans fear Enders. They're going to need to get over that fear soon, I'm not going to stay in my human form forever. "Not only that, but she's a magic user. From my experience with her, she's a high-level sorceress."

"Do we need to worry about her? Is she a threat to the recruits back at the base?"

Seto shook his head. "No, she's under some sort of spell right now. She's usually happy and excitable, like a puppy. With the amount of magic she was just using, the enchantment should be wearing off within the next couple hours."

"Seto, I want you to listen to me closely right now." He looked up at me. "What do you think we should do? You are the only one here who has any idea of what she's like."

Seto thought for a moment. "I-I think we should go look for her. She didn't really kill anyone, I think the spell was making her think like that. I was just trying to play along. It was the only thing I could think of doing."

"Then we'll have to go back to the base." The recruits all looked at me. "What? Only the Commander has the authority to send out search groups."

I looked at Seto. "Seto, you'll need to explain the situation to Adam. I'm positive he'll allow you to search for her. Is she a friend of yours?"

He nodded. "She's a very close friend."

"Let's head back then." Cooper led the patrol and Seto as they started to walk to the base. I followed them, then stopped. I walked over to a tree, and picked up a pair of black and purple headphones. "Latsyrc Redne ruoy togrof uoy." I murmured. "Eneles uoy htiw od ot gniog I ma tahw?"

A/N

Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed Chapter 2, I had a lot of fun writing this one. Making fun of my own characters within my story is actually entertaining. I said last time, there was going to be a new language, and Ty seems to know it. The language is spelled and written backwards. It's so much fun to watch scientists get frustrated with this language, as it is not a written language. Did I say scientists? Heh... Here's a small description of Seto, Selene, Ty, and TrueMU for you guys. Look for similarities between characters, and try to guess who is related to who and where the character is from.

Seto: sensible, fun, mischievous. Seto is Quentin's helper in the hospital. He is also an Ender and a sorcerer. He has more titles as of this moment, but I think you should try to figure them out.

Selene: sweet, excitable, happy, mischievous (basically like a puppy). Selene is a wolf hybrid, Ender, and a sorceress. Seto was NOT lying when he said this. She is a close friend of Seto, Ty, Adam, and more people who I am not allowed to say at this time.

Ty: sarcastic, mischievous. Ty will do anything to help his friends when they are in danger. He is in charge of scheduling, which he hates, and the Sky Army's patrol. He's also a close friend of Adam, which will probably play an important role later. He seems to be annoyed by humans who fear Enders, which seems to imply that he isn't human.

TrueMU: fun, responsible, guarded, prankster. TrueMU loves to pull pranks on people, which you haven't seen yet. He is in charge of new recruits and often helps Ty with making the schedule. He is also another one of Adam's friends, but not as close as Ty and Adam. There is a specific reason, and I am curious as to how long it will take for you to figure out why. He also is keeping a few secrets, and I have given a few clues for you. Maybe too many clues.

Now here's a ranking of magic users. Keep this in mind, all magic users are Enders, and the cloaks are used as traveling cloaks and to determine a user's rank.

-Apprentice: Apprentices help their Master (Wizard, Witch, Sorcerer, or Sorceress), who in turn help the apprentice learn how to cast spells and make potions. Apprentices also receive a familiar (to help them with their lessons) and a violet cloak when they are assigned a Master.

-Mage: Mages are a step up from an Apprentice. It takes at least a year to move up to this level. Mages use basic spells through spoken incantations and don't normally use potions. They also are given a purple cloak.

-Wizard/Witch: The magic level of a Mage grows as they learn more spells. When a Mage can no longer control their powers, they are moved up to this rank. Wizards are the male version of this rank, as Witches are the female version. They need to use either a staff or wand to control their powers, and they begin to use potions more often. This rank is signified by a dark purple cloak.

-Sorcerer/Sorceress: Most Wizards and Witches are not able to move up to this rank, no one truly knows why. They can use spells without spoken incantations, wands, or staffs. They use spells and potions at the same rate, or use whichever one they like to use more. They are given black cloaks, which helps them disguise themselves in the Overworld if they need to go there.

-Royal Sorcerer/Sorceress: Kinda self-explanatory. There is only one Royal Sorcerer, and the cloak looks completely different from the other ranks' cloaks. They work for the ruler of the End, and are immortal through time. This means they cannot die from age or sickness, but can die in battle.

Oh! The number of recruits! That was the total number of subscribers from BajanCanadian, JeromeASF, Ssundee, Sky Does Minecraft, Deadlox, Minecraft Universe, and Husky Mudkipz at midnight EST on April 9 (today). Congrats to Ssundee for reaching 6 million subscribers!

Deadlox: 2,212,489

Husky Mudkipz: 1,816,115

JeromeASF: 4,022,981

Minecraft Universe: 2,648,809

Sky Does Minecraft: 11,887,894

Ssundee: 6,001,663

BajanCanadian: 5,449,313

More information will be given at the end of a chapter. It helps to clear up questions you may have and reveals more about how this universe works. I know this was kinda a repeat of the first chapter, that was intentional. This should be the first and last time I'll make a 'repeat' chapter. Anyways, Chapter 3 should be posted on April 16, next week. That should put the upload schedule back on track. Chapter 3 will be in Adam's POV, and the rest of Team Crafted will be introduced. I shall see you then. Bye!
